To Aria’s utter surprise, Asher turns out to be Prince Asterope, crown prince of the Empire―and this powerful new ally of hers is making it clear that he wants to be something more! Things are starting to look up for Aria as she makes her first grand entrance into high society with an admirer of royal background and a soon-to-be marchioness at her side…That is, until Lady Isys spots her and Asher’s secret rendezvous, prompting Mielle to make a rash decision―one with deadly consequences.
I'm enjoying this series overall, for a lot of different reasons, but I just gotta say...the fact that the GRAND PLAN of Mielle, this 15-year-old witch with a capital B, was.........to push her father down the stairs and then blame it on Aria while there was a party full of people from the Noble faction at their manor is, just. HILARIOUS. There is LITERALLY no reason for Aria to do that. She has her own money, she's engaged to THE PRINCE and that's going well, she's the sponsor of a ton of different successful new businesses, AND she's beloved by the commoners since she (here's a novel idea, take notes, Mielle!) actually CARES about them (since she once was one of them and knows how hard that life is) and helped build them a school, to better their lives.
Why would this plan even work? Why would ANYone believe her? Especially when newspaper articles have been HEAVILY SUGGESTING that hey, maybe all the bad rumors about Aria were started by her JEALOUS younger step-sister. Mielle is clearly the only one with anything to gain, this is the stupidest plan, especially since...her father is not SUPER OLD, he's probably going to survive the fall, and when he TELLS EVERYONE what she did, she's finished. Obvs. she's going to try to poison him (because of course she is, it didn't work once, so why not try it again!), but still. That could/should also be easy to prevent, if people are paying attention.
It's also annoying that Prince Asher had to SWEEP in and try to SAVE Aria when she could've handled it herself, much more cleanly and easily, if he had stayed in his lane. I get that he came because he does actually care about Aria, and that's good--I'm glad she's going to get a much better end with someone she loves and who loves her back--but. BRO. You know she's WELL beyond capable of playing the wicked chessmaster, for gosh sakes, let her cook! X'D
Looking forward to volume 5!

Everything was going so well for Aria until near the end of this volume and it’s going to be interesting to see how she gets back at Mielle. As long as Asher is on her side things shouldn’t get too complicated, right?
Нарешті додається романтика і Арія показує себе з іншого боку! це мило та приємно. Нарешті ця лиходійка отримує свою долю романтики і манхва стає романтичною. Втім, позаяк Арії 15, нічого більше за гарні слова, підтримку та букети
Still slaps! This is one of my favourite villainess comics and this volume everything starts coming together for Aria. We’re closing in on the finale!!
I definitely like this series. Or something nice about seeing evil people getting their comeuppance. It almost seems a little too easy some of the time but this volume definitely has you starting to bite your nails a little bit. I'm sure our heroin will still come out on top but as it stands now it'll be fun to see how she does it.
Hands down the best volume of this series so far. We finally have things happening! I loved how Aria didn’t let Berry off the hook for trying to poison her and how the feud between Mielle and Aria is starting to have real consequences instead of just the two of them doing petty things and making digs at each other. I also found it highly amusing how repulsed Aria was with Cain and his attraction to her(I agree it is gross) It also ended on a great cliffhanger,is Mielle so desperate to come out on top of this feud she’ll kill her own father? I am very interested to hear more about the brother of Lady Frey who looks a lot like Aria. Is he perhaps also related to Aria and if so does that mean Aria is related to Lady Frey? My only gripe with the book was Arias constant vanity. I’m all for having good self esteem but when she’s constantly thinking about how attractive she is it is slightly irritating. We know she is beautiful we don’t need to be told about it with her thinking about it every other minute. I can’t wait to continue to find out what happens next. Overall a fantastic read.

Mielle seems to be getting more desperate, but she's also doing well to toe the line in public and may have come up with her best plan yet with this newest move. At least that is how it appears on the surface, but no one could have factored in the prince with her plans, especially as only Aria knows about his special ability. Hopefully the count will also wake up, and between him and the prince, that would be a grave error in Mielle's plans. Curious if this is really what she was plotting all along or if there is another plan in the works given her comment to Cain and how sure she seems to be that Aria won't be the crowned princess - not that the prince will agree with that given his new stance and activities in this life. It is interesting getting some back story on the prince's own childhood and how he came to view things growing up, though it's good to see he's learning from them and no longer seems to just be surviving as in the past.

I remember reading this manhwa before but I think I may not have followed-up on the side stories since it was still ongoing at that time. But even if it’s a reread, The Villainess Turns the Hourglass is still as great as the first time I read it <3 It was really so good!
I always love revenge stories, but I don’t like reading their backstory. It’s because it’s usually tragic, and I want to retain my sanity so I always skip them. Luckily this story didn’t have a lot of that. It only has like 1 chapter detailing her tragic life and on how she ended up like that. There were some flashbacks here and there, but fortunately it was only short so it didn’t make me uncomfortable.
Another thing I love about this manhwa is the female lead. I usually don’t like villainess but she’s a different kind of villainess. She’s a total badass! And I am glad that she’s true to her character all throughout the story. Usually, villainess characters in an isekai or regression stories are only villainess at first but ends up being a saint (well, she has that title but I’ll let you discover why, hahaha) at the end, but the female lead on this story stayed true to her character till the end. She doesn’t tolerate bullsh*t and calls out people who are determined to step on her, but that doesn’t mean she’s out there killing innocent people. She also made sure to see through her revenge till the end. That said, the end of the antagonists were all satisfying to read. Yass!
Aside from her badass side, she also has her moments of weakness especially at the start of the story. She cried and got frustrated but still acknowledges her weaknesses. But despite all of that, she still continued to fight on, which helps to make her even stronger. And I really like reading that! Btw, I didn’t like how she always thinks of using people at the start of the story, but it’s a good thing that she outgrown that one and learns to really have a proper relationship with people. Her growth really is interesting to read.
The male lead on the other hand is a big green flag. I love seeing how dedicated he was to the female lead. His love for her can be a bit too much sometimes, but it felt natural for me. It feels like that’s just how it should be. The FL just deserves everything!
I also love the addition of family, especially highlighting FL’s relationship with her mother. At first I didn’t have a good impression of her mother because she seems a bit negligent. But as I read further, I get to see what kind of mother she truly is. So I certainly agree with most readers that she’s definitely the most accurate representation of real life mothers.
She may not be saintly and affectionate like most commoner mothers in manhwa, but you can’t deny that she really loves the FL in her own way. I was really glad we got to read her own perspective. So her not abandoning the FL after the father left them makes me appreciate her even more. It was also quite fun seeing their interaction together on planning on taking money from the antagonist family, lol.
I feel like the meeting with the biological father was anticlimactic that what I expected. But I guess it just proved that the FL doesn’t need her biological father’s family and influence to be strong. That she can definitely shine and succeed using her own strength. Go girl!
I also read some comments that the epilogue was dragging, but I don’t feel that way. In fact, I love that the epilogue has its different highlight story. The longer the story, the better for me, *wink.
This manhwa also has some sets of likable characters; each of them has unique qualities that I’m sure readers will also love. They definitely made this story even more entertaining!
As for the romance, I liked it. It was not too fast and definitely not too slow. For me it was done smoothly. And I like that! For me, this story just balances everything perfectly. We get to see heartwarming family scenes, sweet romance, and also the dirty and complicated side of politics.
Btw, I didn’t expect the addition of a god and felt like this story could still go on without mentioning one. The reincarnation of the other antagonist was also kind of unnecessary but after seeing the graphics, I can’t help but get interested since it is hinting at a romance to a certain young king. Hmmm, I wonder if the artist will write a spin off.
The antagonist Mielle was annoying, but it was rewarding seeing the FL winning every time so she really didn’t bother me that much. I guess I’m still a bit soft since seeing some of the criminals dying and such still makes me feel kind of bad especially on the brother. I can see that he mellowed down and really changed which I thought at first that it’s impossible. But thinking what the FL went through, he still deserved it.
If you’re looking for an amazing story with an equally amazing art and satisfying end to the antagonists, then The Villainess Turns the Hourglass is definitely a must read!
It’s been such a rollercoaster of emotions! Prince Asher and Aria have made their relationship public and he is on her side 100%. I’m so happy that Aria has people she can count on. But Millie and Oscar’s sister are just evil, how could Millie push her father down the stairs, that’s just cruel. I want to see what happens between Millie and Aria, how Aria will take finally take revenge.
I think I finally understand Aria as a character, and I like her way more than I originally did. I love that Asher wants her to reach her goals, even if they are quite mean spirted. I am excited to read the next edition.
can i just say that this was extremely satisfying? aria stayed true to herself with this life, finally executing her revenge with perfection and grace, and had a badass asher beside her all this time? yes!! the art is beautiful too. enjoyed it so much.
Such an amazing story! I love Aria's character and I love how she did her revenge. All of the revenge she did is so satisfying, especially what she did for Mielle.
