Things are getting heavier and the plot is plotting.

Back to the age based on how they are depicted I think they still tend to depict them about 3 years older than they are so now you’d think they are teens like 15-16. It seems silly to nitpick as he is as around 35 when he was born so his mental age at this point is approaching 50 so what is 3 years if he still looks like a kid but no one else has an adult consciousness and there are other youth in the story so not sure why they are always depicted as being about 3 years older then they are. If they wanted this maturity why not correct it with a time jump already to physically Age everyone up. I do appreciate that even know that he’s approaching puberty he has maintained a personality that is NOT perverted and even though females tend to crush after him the harem trope never seems to progress as he shuts them down when it becomes to obvious.

Copy/paste from volume 4:

I like this arc, still lighthearted and fun but hinting at more to come

Copy and paste from volume 2:

Overall I think the art is doing a good job of reminding us that he is still only 4 years old although at times I feel like they (him and the elf girl) do come off more like elementary school kids so notices sure why they didn’t give him a few more years at home learning concepts and then having an 7-8 year old to venture with his parents to get a mentor as it would have maybe more sense for the elf girl to have the conversation they have at that age as I don’t know if a “normal” 5 year old would have talked with him this way. This is a common issue I have when I read stories with children now that I am a parent, when I was younger and childless I find the give or take of 3-4 years of child development wasn’t noticeable and seemed fine. Now it’s always me going “a 5 year old would do that” or a “10 year would have grown out of that”

Copy and paste below from the previous volume as it still is relevant

So I started this series online as I don’t have patience to wait for the weekly episode update of the anime now that it’s streaming for the spring season.

It reminds me of the Japanese isekai anime/light novel series Mushoko Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation where the reincarnation happens at birth and they basically are born with the consciousness of the past life not just memories of the past or getting the memories in life like at puberty or when they turn into an adult. Not like transmigration “reincarnation” isekais where they take over the body of someone that’s died and they may or may not have the memories of the previous person.

One of the main differences, for the better in my opinion, is that the MC isn’t a pervert. In Mushoko Tensei he was a 30 something incel basically so notices his mom’s breasts when he’s a baby and obsesses later for an entire arc over not being able to get it up after losing his virginity at around 14 and then being left like a one night stand.

I really appreciate that the MC, Arthur, in this series is NOT obsessed with sex or a pervert. Rather then reincarnating from modern day korea he was a King in another world and while seems to have been a cold tyrant as he rose to power he’s quite rational and calm in his new life, and him learning what it means to have family ties and to care about people we see a lot of emotional growth.

We get funny comedic breaks as he struggles with adjusting to a baby body and his lack of control over it. Like being embarrassed that he soils his diaper. Over all I really enjoy this arc as he learns the magic structure of this world and apply his knowledge and skills from his past life to adapt to this world.

Arthur passes his adventurer test and is awarded B-Rank. So he joins Jasmine Flamesworth on a two year long stint as an adventurer that we don't get to see because it was basically a glorified training montage because Arthur was worried he was losing his previous life's sword skills.

Now, Arthur is about to enroll at Xyrus Academy (where two of his potential waifus will be his sempai), but first there's one more dungeon crawl to get through.

Not a lot happens until the dungeon crawl begins, but it wouldn't be interesting if it went as planned, so...

If you really like magic and fantasy I think you're going to like it a lot. There's a ton of rules with this magic, I think the magic creation is very clever. If you also like compelling stories your going to like this. I have been reading most of the series and I like this one the most out of all of them .
Spoilers -------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now the storyline and thinking that he's 11 years old is crazy because at the beginning he was like eight. I wonder when he's going to tell everybody else's secret about being reincarnated unless he never does.

Why would one want to become an adventurer at age 8/9 I mean even if you were reincarnated I don't much see the point of risking your life for gaining power. I get his deduction, he never had a family, so he must protect the one he was given.

The cartoonish humor is a bit off putting but the story is good. It gets serious 30-40% in the story. The novelized version would be good to check out, I guess.

Page turner for sure. I like how they don't treat Art like a kid. This volume is all him adventuring with Jasmine and ends with a cliffhanger
