Winter's Spell Trilogy #1

Weaving Winter: A Fantasy Romance

Rate this book
Sometimes, it's safer to trust the Wolf rather than the Prince...

After her mother’s death, Asajia discovers that the sheriff is planning to confiscate her inheritance, and force her to join his harem. Rather than accept her fate, she escapes into the darkly enchanted Bramble Fel Forest—a forest cursed with the perpetual breath of Winter, nightmarish creatures, and dark, dangerous secrets. Asajia would rather take her chances with real monsters than submit to the vile man.

Unfortunately, the sheriff doesn’t like to lose, and he sends a raiding party to find her with orders to bring her back at any cost.

Once in the shadow of the forest, Asajia discovers a rare lark stone which triggers her magical heritage, and as she moves deeper into the forest, she begins to hope she’s escaped. But when the raiders finally track her down, her magic is too unpredictable to save herself, and she finds herself outnumbered with nowhere to run.

A band of outcast wolf shifters arrives just in time to rescue her, but Asajia finds herself caught in between the charming Wolf Prince and his rogue assassin brother.

There is only one thing Asajia knows for certain—the sheriff will never stop looking for her, so she has little choice but to put her trust in one of the warring brothers. Who will she choose? And will that choice lead to her ruin or will it give her a life she never imagined possible?

This is a new trilogy and also has a different feel from most of Galenorn other books, short but packed with information this has more of a fantasy book feel than a Roman-tasy feel which is her norm. Honestly, if it had another 500 pages it would have been labeled fantasy and I'm all for it.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a creative and foreboding world that Galenorn has created with this story. Asajia the FMC has a lot to deal with and is so brave. The Bramble Fel Forest is creepy, and wild, and really cold!

I can't wait for book two.

Wow! I loved this story of Asajia. I can hardly wait to find out what happens. October 8th needs to be here fast! I loved all your books and this is no different. The character building is great and you just want to follow Asajia through all of the book. I want to know what happens to her and who she really is. It looks to be a slow burn romance so can’t wait for more story with that. Great book!

No!

I have read ALL Ms Galenorn's books so I was delighted that there was a new series starting. I only got a short way into it (chapter 4) before giving up. I am so sorry, I feel bad about feeling disappointed with a novel written by such an esteemed author, but it felt as if a stranger had written it. I just couldn't continue further.

Asajia is a strong heroine who didn't mop around and wallow in misery or gave up on life to be the bed slave of the sheriff. She chose to go out in the deep winter into the forest to escape her persecutors or rather die on her feet than live on her knees. The forest and the winter land is described in a no nonsense manner which for the same reason was endearing. Highly recommend!

Great start to a new series!

This was not quite what I was expecting and I love that. The story was engaging and the world building fantastic. Had some twists and turns I didn’t expect. I’m off to see what happens in book 2!

This book started well, but I found it difficult to connect with the characters. It felt rushed and there is not nearly enough dept.

Intriguing

Admittedly a cliffhanger, (which I despise), but still, Weaving Winter was something new to me. I am so glad I waited to read it until the sequels were released.
