Wilson McCray & Atlee Levine.Dangerous Affair is a one-night-stand-turned-friends to lovers, age gap, alpha protector romantic suspense novel with a tortured hero and a take-no-sh!t heroine who has a feisty, opinionated grandmother who likes to butt into other people's relationships. Blurb coming soon....

I held off reading this story as long as I could as I did not want to see the end of this series but what a spectacular story and I’m looking forward to the new series Dirty Plank - featuring Jack from our Takeback team and Cat - the fiesty undercover SOIB agent🤩
Atlee goes to Idaho to see her grandmother and be her plus one at a wedding. However, she arrives early and meets Wilson instead😳 Thinking this will be one night of debauchery…it’s quickly clear the next morning, when Wilson rocks up to breakfast, that that’s not the case🙈
When a case takes Wilson and his team to Vegas, he soon discovers Atlee is in the thick of it, even though she’s unaware of this fact😬 A beautiful second chance at love story for Wilson and I loved getting to know Atlee and the woman who brought Wilson to his proverbial knees❣️
You knew with how these 2 meet that there would be more. It was fun to see them dance around each other at first and be all awkward, trying not to have the others clue in. Things really picked up when Wilson walked into his "job" and saw Atlee there. He had to find a way to talk to her and protect her. Atlee did a great job of helping as things progressed, it's just too bad that the bad guys were a step ahead. Things were iffy there for her towards the end, but Wilson and the guys weren't going to let things go.
The last part was a great way to wrap up this series. So great to see everyone happy and still together, to see how all the kids are and how the parents are dealing with the choices the kids are trying to make.
We finally get Wilson’s story and it’s heartbreaking to see how he tortures himself with ghosts from his past. He’s a man that lives for his job and his friends and their happiness. He doesn’t do relationships himself and doesn’t believe in happy endings. And he keeps his personal life just that – personal.
After a steamy one-night stand with no promises except a night of pleasure Wilson’s shocked to see his fantasy woman at breakfast with his teammates and friends.
Atlee is a good girl who follows the rules and never walks on the wild side, until Wilson. Being around him is addictive and has her shedding all her good girl inhibitions. She knows she’s asking for heartbreak but he’s too much for her to resist. At least she’ll have good memories to take home with her.
Until he shows up with his friends on a mission and blow her nice, plain reality to pieces. What’s even worse, she ends up placed right in the thick of it and has to turn to Wilson and his friends for protection.
As things heat up with the mission and personally - tangled emotions, fear, and harsh words send Atlee straight to the enemy. Wilson will break every rule and every person that stands in his way to get her back.
This book is supercharged with emotional turmoil that will sweep you away. Danger, excitement, suspense, humor, chemistry, family, friends, passion, love, and more will greet you in the pages of this fantastic read. This final book in the Takeback series is not to miss. Unputdownable and exceptional story!
*I received an advanced copy from the author via Booksprout. All thoughts and opinions are solely my own.
I don’t know how, but every book Riley Edwards writes turns out even better then the last one. Dangerous Affair is the long anticipated end of the Takeback series and wow did she deliver.
This book is full of suspense, I really loved the action and the story about the case they were working. Then there’s Atlee and Wilson. They meet and hit it off right at the beginning, no slow burn here ;) What I love about this story is the way they develop towards a couple. Wilson has some growing and letting go to do. He is so tormented by his demons, he almost lets Atlee slip through his fingers. Luckily Atlee is the strong woman Mrs. S. Raised her to be and she does not put up with his antics. The chemistry between Atlee and Wilson is off the charts and I honestly don’t understand how they can deny their love for each other for so long.
The best part about this book, is the way that all the takeback men have Wilson’s back. He has been there for all of them, and now he needs them - and do they pull through. The references Riley Edwards uses to super emotional moments in earlier book in the series are just epic. I was ugly crying all the way.
Oh and then there’s the epilogue. Because OFCOURSE the end of the series epilogue is epic. Epic people… Epic. Please go read it so we can chat about it - and we can argue about who loves it more ;)
also, warning: this book will leave you hung over, because you will feel like nothing compares to it. From personal experience, it takes time, but you will get over it. Although it will forever be living rent free in your mind.
I've really enjoyed the Takeback series, but I'm afraid this final book just didn't do it for me. I'm glad I read it to see how everything wrapped up, but I found the connection between Wilson and Atlee felt too rushed for me.
It felt like it was more focused on the smut than the emotional, which is fine if that's what you're looking for. But there has been such a build up for Wilson's backstory and I really wanted to explore that more.
I should point out that I seem to be in a minority so far, so maybe this was a "me" thing rather than the story itself. Riley is still an auto-buy author for me and I'm excited to see what she writes next. You just can't love every book I guess.
This is the 7th and final book in the Takeback series and in it, we finally get Wilson's story! "Dangerous Affair is a one-night-stand-turned-friends to lovers, age gap, alpha protector romantic suspense novel with a tortured hero and a take-no-sh!t heroine who has a feisty, opinionated grandmother who likes to butt into other people's relationships. It was supposed to be a fantasy-fueled, one-night stand, something to make me shed my good girl inhibitions.Imagine my shock when the sexy stranger I spent the night with showed up the next morning at a breakfast my grandmother was hosting. When he took me back to my hotel, one night turned into a weekend. That was where it was supposed to end. I flew back to Las Vegas, thinking I'd never see the emotionally unavailable Wilson McCray again. He had other plans.Atlee Levine wasn't supposed to get under my skin.I'd already failed one woman. I'd dedicated my life to my career—it was safer that way. I had no business falling in love with the strong-willed, beautiful woman. When I found out she was tangled up with the man I'd been hired to take down, I realized I'd break every rule to protect her. I kept her safe until my guilt crashed around me. A few words in anger sent Atlee running straight into the hands of the enemy.Takeback has saved hundreds of trafficking victims—will they make it in time to save the woman Wilson's fallen in love with or will they be too late? And if she's rescued, can Wilson do what needs to be done to win her back or will his past continue to rule his future?Caution within the pages of this book you'll find a bossy alpha hero who's a whole lot damaged and a heroine who will fight for her man."
I have been impatiently wanting Wilson's story for so long, and it in NO way disappoints! I have wanted to know more about his character since the beginning, just because he has always been so private even with his teammates. This story starts off hot and spicy, and let me tell you that doesn't let up and I love that! But then it moves into the emotions, and I loved everything about that as well. Wilson has so much he holds back, and I don't want to say a lot about it just because I feel like it's a spoiler but so much of it isn't truly his burden to bear. And it's heartbreaking. Atlee has always been the good girl, never a step out of place. Until she decides that she wants just one night for herself, not knowing that Wilson is a part of her Grandmother's life and that means they are apart of each other's world. I love how their story plays out-even with the suspense involved in it. They are absolutely perfect for each other, and once Wilson works through his issues-he will stop at nothing in order to have his woman permanently. Let me just say though, bring your tissues for the epilogue. The way I loved it and cried through a lot of it, it definitely reminded me of why I love this author and her words just so very much.
Wilson McCray is the man in charge of Takeback, and in Dangerous Affair we finally get to the heart of this damaged hero. And we learn just how much he keeps from those around him. Wilson has been a little bit of an enigma through the series. He is there, but he isn’t. Always willing to give advice, but we don’t really know him. Until Atlee Levine enters his life. And the life that Wilson thought he knew was over. Wilson lives with an insane amount of guilt because of his wife’s death, and as you learn more about him you realize that a lot of that guilt is misplaced anger. Her death while tragic, was not something he had control over.
Dangerous Affair opens with Atlee Levine meeting a man at a bar, and has a moment that she will never forget. No last names, just feeling. Until she gets to her grandmother’s home, and her world changes in ways she never expected. Mrs. Simpson is a delight as always in this book, and the love that she has for her granddaughter is full force and not hidden. Atlee lives in a world in which she feels as though she isn’t enough. Her father is so lost in his personal grief that he forgot about her, but she has her grandmother.
These are two people who are destined to be together. IT is not easy, it is not smooth, it is not pretty. Words are said. Emotions are high. Feelings are hurt. This book far surpassed my expectations for Wilson and I am thrilled by it. There are times when as a reader, the final book in a series or a beloved character is something to look forward to, and it’s a let down. This is not the case.
Dangerous Affair is about Atlee and Wilson at its core, but it’s the relationships in this series that shine as well.
But let me tell you… there is a moment in the epilogue of this book that culminates the series. I am NOT okay. Riley Edwards takes a meaningful and profound moment and wrecks your heart at the same time. Yet in the best way possible. While I am sad to see this cast of characters and their stories be over, I know that we will continue to see them again and again.
"I told you, Wilson, I will fight you. Perhaps you misunderstood. What I meant was, I will fight you. You can push me away, and I won’t let you. You can try your shock and awe, and it will bounce off me. You can tell me a thousand times you’re going to fail me but I won’t believe you. Me sitting on your lap right this very second is proof you will never let me down. I love you, Wilson, and I’m not letting you go."
Do not miss this series…. it is worth every second.
Of all the authors I follow, Riley Edwards is the best. Her books are always right on target. Great characters, engaging suspense, interesting plots, and hubba hubba smokin hot sex. I'm pretty sure I've read everything she's written. She's the only author I still keep on auto-buy. And she's the only author I give 5 stars to routinely.
This story is another excellent addition to her library. Wilson is a pretty beloved character in this series. He's super grumbly, a demanding guy who keeps his heart inaccessible because of past damage. Atlee is a woman who has worked hard to elevate her career but retains her small town character, devoted to her remaining family and friends. The sex trafficking plot is fairly common in the Riley Edwards universe, but it still manages to create excellent suspense as we wait for the dangerous events to transpire. I don't usually tire of the same kinds of scary encounters because RE is such a good writer that she makes it new every time. I typically feel real anxiousness when I read her stories, and this one's no exception.
Atlee is a great female lead. Like many of RE's female characters, she's pretty tough, smart, and will step into scary situations when needed. She's a realistic character, still relatable. Her behaviors make sense, with little to no TSTL stuff. She's the kind of character you can envision as a friend.
Wilson, of course, is an alpha with a good bit of damage. His role throughout the series as a leader has allowed him to keep a shield between himself and a personal life. Meeting Atlee changes all that, and his struggles are realistic.
As one reviewer pointed out, "There's a lot of smut, if you're here for that." Hells to the yes, I'm here for that! Good thing, because there's a lot of smokin' hot smut to go around. I'm sure some think it's too much. But I think it's indicative of Wilson's long denial and his intense attraction to this woman. His desperation as he pursues her pretty relentlessly for sex and companionship seems to fit. It makes sense to me in that context. And RE can write a super hot sex scene for sure, so all good there!
This book is also a satisfying wrap to the series. I can't wait to see what kind of series is next.
Strap in, folks, because Riley Edwards' "Dangerous Affair" isn't just a book—it's an emotional rollercoaster that's been supercharged with nitroglycerin. This grand finale of the Takeback series delivers a story so explosive, it'll blow your literary socks off. We're talking about Wilson McCray here, the man who's basically been a walking mystery with a side of brood. Well, the mystery's out, and it's a heartbreaker. Wilson's been fighting demons with a stoic face that could give Mount Rushmore a run for its money, but underneath? A whirlwind of guilt and grief that's just begging for a beacon of hope.
Enter Atlee Levine, the good girl with a rule book so tight it's practically suffocating. But throw her in Wilson's orbit, and watch as those rules combust into stardust. Their encounter? Think of it as a collision between a comet and a black hole—spectacular, terrifying, and utterly mesmerizing. Atlee's the kind of woman who not only steps into the wild side; she sashays into it, dragging Wilson along for a dance he never knew he needed. But it's not all moonlight and roses. There's a darkness lurking, a mission that entangles them in danger and suspense that'll have you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails down to nubs.
This story's got it all—action that'll have your pulse racing, emotional depth that'll have you drowning in feels, and a love story so intense, you'll need oven mitts to handle the book. And the chemistry? Let's just say, if you're not fanning yourself or ugly crying by the end, check your pulse. Edwards has a way of making characters leap off the page, making you laugh, cry, and swoon in equal measure. So, if you're in for a tale of redemption, passion, and a squad of badass brothers-in-arms, "Dangerous Affair" is your ticket. Don't sleep on this one; it's a wild ride from start to tear-jerking finish, proving once and for all that even the most broken hearts can find peace and maybe, just maybe, a shot at a happy ending.
Mrs. Sullivan or Mrs. S as Takedown knows her, is an elderly lady who has taken Takedown members under her grandmotherly wing when she begins calling them with tips on bad things happening in the area. At ninety one, she has begun working for Smuttes bookstore which is owned by one of the wives of the men who work for Takedown. She is delighted that her granddaughter, Atlee is coming to visit and attend the wedding of one of the men who works for Takedown so that her Grandmother can easily attend. Atlee is a VIP hostess at a grand hotel in Las Vegas and has just gotten a promotion. She is excited to start her job after her visit. Atlee stays at a nearby resort before going on to her Grandmother's. Here she steps out of her usual role of a "good girl" and spends the night with a man who she picks up in the bar. The next day, she reverts to "good Atlee" and heads to her Grandmother's. She arrives just in time to attend the wedding breakfast with her Grandmother. When they arrive, everyone eagerly accepts Atlee simply because she is Mrs. S's granddaughter and Atlee feels very welcomed. That is, until she catches the eye of one attendee- Wilson McCray, the man she had the one-night-stand with! Finally, after her visit to her Grandmother, and several more nights with Wilson, she returns to Las Vegas and her new job. One of her first jobs is to make sure Mr. Martin has everything he wants. He is just another guest for her; but in reality, he is there to set up an auction of young ladies for sex trafficking. Takedown is there to help take him down. Leading the team is Wilson McCray.
Well Riley Edwards has done it again and blown my mind with how wonderful Dangerous Affair is! If you have been reading the Takeback series, you knew that Wilson McCray was going to have a heck of a story behind his serious persona and he was going to need a woman with a spine of steel to be able to handle him. Atlee Levine is the perfect woman to capture this broken man's heart. Now she just needs to be able to survive so that she can heal it! Are you intrigued now? I have been a fan of this series since the beginning and was sad that it was coming to an end but Riley Edwards finished it up perfectly and kept me glued to every page. Wilson and Atlee's story starts out as a one night escape that karma keeps continuing for these two. They both find something in each other and if they're both brave enough to work for it, they can truly have it all. However there's a trafficking ring that needs to be taken down and Atlee has gotten herself mixed up in it through no fault of her own and Takeback is going to need to do what they do best. Keep a box of Kleenex handy because you're going to need it for the ending, I know that I did! Dangerous Affair was told from dual POV. It has all the action, emotions, heat and angst that readers love from a Riley Edwards story. Dangerous Affair stands alone however there are many characters that appear from previous books in the series so you should definitely read their stories to get the most out of this series.
Like so many other fans of this wonderful series, I have been anxiously awaiting Wilson’s story. And unsurprisingly it was a gut punch… of the very best kind. Wilson is an alpha protector, and this need to protect the innocent as well as those he cares for is embedded in his soul. It’s coded in his very DNA. But he’s also a broken and tortured man whose past haunts him deeply. Meeting Atlee was a welcome surprise as was their deep and unexpected connection. But when their time is over, it’s over… or so he thinks. Wilson is beyond shocked when his next job in Vegas brings Atlee back into his orbit but also reveals the danger she’s in—danger he’ll do anything to protect her from. Too bad he’s just as invested in protecting his own heart. But lucky for him, Atlee is just as invested in claiming it. This is the last book in the series, and Riley Edwards wraps up the series beautifully.
The narration for the audiobook comes from Stella Bloom and Jason Clarke, who both turn in amazing performances. Stella Bloom perfectly brings the character of Atlee to life, flawlessly voicing the strong and feisty heroine. Unsurprisingly, Jason Clarke does the beloved yet tortured character of Wilson some serious justice with his emotionally-charged performance. Together, these two talented voice performers beautifully bring this final Takeback story to life, making it a truly “can't miss” listening experience.
“He deserves nothing less than a strong woman who’s willing to help him battle his demons. And when she digs them out she’ll have a man that will burn the world to the ground to keep her happy.”
Now THAT is how you finish a series!! I devoured this audiobook. Dangerous Affair, the 7th and final book in Riley Edwards’ Takeback series was one of my favorite! I knew Wilson McCray’s story would be a tear jerker, but I wasn’t quite ready for him! I’ve really enjoyed the way Riley teased us with glimpses of Wilson and his dark past throughout this series. I wasn’t prepared for the fierce bombshell Atlee to stamp her claim in the Takeback world, but I loved her so much! Riley has written another masterpiece perfectly balanced with suspense, humor, hot military man action, spice, and witty banter. Cameos from the whole team emerge, as well as the fabulous Mrs. S! I knew it would take a strong, witty, brazen FMC to break through Wilson’s walls and Atlee was perfect!
Stella Bloom and Jason Clarke make a stupendous duo and I loved them from start to finish as Atlee and Wilson! Jason portrayed the secretive, brooding, and buttoned up team leader with top notch growl. Stella Bloom is everything! Her performance of the brassy and unrelenting instant book bestie Atlee was flawless. I was hooked for every second of this fantastic audiobook. It made me laugh, snort, swoon, and cry.
"Dangerous Affair" by Riley Edwards is a gripping and emotional conclusion to the Takeback series, delivering everything fans could hope for in a final book.
From the start, Atlee and Wilson's chemistry ignites the pages, making their one-night stand sizzle into something much deeper and more complicated. The age gap and Wilson's tortured past only add to the delicious tension, creating a dynamic where both characters must confront their vulnerabilities to be together.
Edwards masterfully balances intense, high-stakes action with swoon-worthy romance. Atlee’s independence and her fierce, take-no-prisoners attitude make her a perfect match for Wilson, whose protective instincts and emotional scars make him both endearing and infuriating. Adding spice to the story is Atlee’s grandmother—a hilariously meddling, sharp-witted force who provides laugh-out-loud moments and heartfelt support.
This book doesn’t shy away from serious issues, blending emotional depth with edge-of-your-seat suspense.
As the last installment in the series, "Dangerous Affair" does an excellent job of wrapping up the Takeback team’s story while giving us a satisfying, unforgettable romance. Perfect for fans of alpha protectors, strong heroines, and nail-biting suspense, this book is a must-read send-off to a beloved series.
Wilson, the team leader and a man who holds himself back, he may be part of the Takeback team but keeps to himself….until Atlee. Atlee is Mrs. S granddaughter and finally comes to visit, and for one night lets herself go only to find out the man she was with is none other than Wilson. Her visit flies by and soon she is back in Las Vegas and neither can forget the other. When Wilson shows up at her hotel and is on a case with one of her clients, the pull is too strong to ignore. But Wilson’s past is holding him hostage and is too afraid to move forward and if he doesn’t get his head on straight….he may lose Atlee for good. A bittersweet read since it’s the last one in this series and sad to see it end BUT this author gives us a glimpse into a new series and I can’t wait to read about Jack. A great read with suspense and holy smokes steam steam steam, glass of ice needed to cool down will be needed. I LOVED these two, Wilson and his vulnerabilities with a past that will get you misty eyed and Atlee, a woman who can hold her own. The ending had me reaching for the tissues more than once as we get a glimpse of all characters years into the future….and what a beautiful way to wrap it all up. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
When Atlee Levine decides to through all her inhibitions out of the window and spend one night with a stranger, the last thing she expects is to find said stranger at her grandmother’s house the next day. When Wilson McCray spends the night with a beautiful woman, the last thing he expects is to find her at a breakfast Mrs. S. is hosting for her friends the next day and he definitely doesn’t expect for Atlee to get under his skin.
And this is how it begins. Wilson’s and Atlee’s story. I am an avid fan of Riley Edward’s books and it is almost impossible to pick a favorite. But this one is a bit different in so many ways. This story made me feel all the emotions, all together, all at the same time. The love, the angst, the lust, the loss and then the love again… This book has it all. Strong and damaged characters who don’t give up easily, a sexy age gap, lots of steamy moments, banter, the TAKEBACK family, Mrs. S. who’s wise, a bit of Nietzsche, bad guys, a so much worth it HEA and an epilogue that broke my heart because it makes you realize that yes, this book is the last one in the TAKEBACK series. I am sad this series is over but it ended in the most fitting way. Thank you Riley!
Wilson McCray finally got his HEA and it did not disappoint. While I felt like this book started a little slower than some of Riley’s other books, it was no less intense.
It would have been out of character for Wilson to immediately fall for Atlee and accept the feelings she evoked in him. Wilson had a lot of past trauma to overcome and I’m glad his character arc was written the way it was. He had to fall for Atlee and find a way to believe he was worthy of that love in his own way on his own timeline.
Atlee was the sunshine to Wilson’s grump. She was his perfect match and I loved the way she fought for Wilson. Once he opened up and shared his past, Atlee had a much better understanding of Wilson and although she faltered, she never gave up on him.
As much as I enjoyed Wilson and Arlene’s hard fought HEA, I really loved Jack as a secondary character. He was instrumental in keeping Atlee fighting for Wilson as well as getting Wilson to face his past. I loved what he added to the story and cannot wait for his and Catalina’s story.
This was a fantastic end to this series. I loved the extra jumps in time in the epilogue to really tie up every loose end.
Wilson and Atlee. I wasn’t sure from the blurb what I thought and I wanted Wilson to get an amazing HEA after all his guidance and leadership combined with his heartbreaking first marriage. Atlee being Mrs. S granddaughter threw me, but then made me realize how perfect that actually was. Together they are a great couple and individually they are strong and caring people. Mrs. S continues to be a hoot and star as she has fully adopted all the TakeBack team and the women they love. Her advice and conversations are my favorite in this book and series. The story has a good blend of romance, heartache, danger and righting wrongs. The ending is longer because we get to jump forward and see all the couples, families, etc. since this is the last of this series. It also sets the stage for a new series with Jack being sent off to help another team in another city…and we met who I think is going to be his love, Caterina. Another character I have to mention is Remy/Remington. A key character for major decisions since book one, in the epilogue he gives a speech that brought the tears, especially his honoring Mrs. S. A wonderful book and series.
It's the finale of the TAKEBACK series and it definitely goes out with a bang! Wilson has been an enigma throughout the series, we know he is dark, dangerous, curt and bordering on rude - but we never knew why. And hearing his story will shatter your heart, just as it shatters Atlee's. He is drowning in grief and guilt, fighting ghosts and demons that want to consume him, nobody has given him a reason to fight those ghosts until Atlee. She makes him want more, and that terrifies him. We see so many sides to Wilson in this book he's defensive, arrogant, sweet, dirty, loving, scared and so very, very broken, but he is also determined that he won't fail a second time and that Atlee is worth facing all his fears and demons for - she gives him hope, in a world of darkness she offers him light....and unconditional love. Whilst this is the end of the TAKEBACK series I am hoping we will still get to touch base with them as Jack kicks off a new spinoff series
I’ve been waiting on Wilson’s book since book one and WOW! What a book! Wilson is bossy everywhere (if you get my drift) and has finally met a woman that challenges him. Atley (I love that name!) is beautiful and feisty. They meet at the resort’s bar and end up in bed. Atley is in town to visit her grandmother and attend a wedding. Her grandmother is Mrs S. When her grandmother takes her to breakfast the Takeback family is there and the two get a shock. The investigation into an auction of trafficked women lead Wilson a some of the team to the same resort Atley works at as a host and she is in direct contact with their target. We learn Wilson’s backstory and secrets and Atley has her work cut out for her if she wants a relationship with him. I have enjoyed this series and hate for it to end but I have a feeling we’ll be seeing some of Takeback in the new series. The epilogue is so good. It had me in tears.
This is a great book and I really liked it. Wilson has been the leader of the Takeback group and has been the pillar of strength. He was the most alpha of the men and I was excited to read his story. This did not disappoint. His chemistry with Atlee was off the charts and they had some super hot steamy scenes. They also had several tender moments and we get to see him face his demons in order to be the right guy for her. The plot with the bad guys was very interesting and there were some slightly more intense moments. No angst or drama. Good action and romance. The epilogue was really cool and I enjoyed reading about the characters in this series and where they are 12 years or so later. I can see me reading this book again and highly recommend it to all. This is a good series and I’m inspired to read the rest of the books I haven’t read by this author and reread the ones I have.
I can’t believe that the Takeback series has come to an end! I’ve so enjoyed watching these me and women come together and fall in love. It’s only fitting that Wilson, the head of it all, wraps it all up when he finds his match. How funny is it that that woman, Atlee, is the granddaughter of the much-loved Mrs. S! Heat and humor fill the pages of every Riley Edwards books, and Dangerous Affair was no different. Wilson’s past was finally revealed and my heart hurt for all that he went through. Atlee is stronger than she gives herself credit for, and she is really the key to Wilson facing his demons and beginning to heal. While this crew will get a rest as main characters, a new spin off with one of their own looks to begin soon. I’m pretty sure we’ll see Wilson and company in the future.
Dangerous Affair is a steamy, and exciting read! We finally get to know more about the grumpy, bossy Wilson. Wilson is all about his job & his friends. He doesn't do relationships since his wife died. He meets the beautiful & sassy Atlee and they have one hot night together. Atlee is in town to visit her grandmother the fabulous Mrs. S. She doesn't expect to see the hot & bossy Wilson again after their one night together or spend more time with him. But she enjoys it while she can. When Atlee returns home to Las Vegas, she doesn't plan on seeing Wilson again. However, they cross paths, and Atlee has unknowingly put herself in danger. This was such a great read, with so many awesome characters. And the perfect ending to the Takeback Series.
Another hit by Riley Edwards, Dangerous Affair is the final book in the Takeback series. The privately, mysterious leader of the Takeback team, Wilson, gets his shot…with none other than Mrs. S’s granddaughter. This book starts out hot and just gets hotter as it goes along. All of your favorite characters will make an appearance. And my favorite part, Mrs. S plays a pretty front and center role. I seriously hope to grow up and be her. She reminds me so much of my grandma, full of spice and vinegar, and sassy as all get out. Filled with all the mystery and save the world that we have come to expect with Riley Edwards’s novels, this is one that fans won’t want to miss. It’ll suck you in from the get-go and you won’t want to put it down!
What a way to end a series! If you have not read the first 6 books, go read those first. As always with Riley, they are stand-alone, but you do NOT want to miss a moment of them.
Wilson is the true team leader, yet he always leaves himself in the background. Silently supportive, always pushing his brothers to go after what they want and yet keeping himself on the outside. Then he meets Atlee.
Atlee is strong, intelligent, graceful, and willing to fight for what she wants.. Wilson.
You will find all things you love in a Riley book. Strong, alpha men, sassy, sweet women, mystery, incredible depth of character, and a sense of family you won't be ready to leave.
Wilson was hot and I mean fire hot. A true Alpha male. He spoke, you turned to mush and you listened. Wilson was very take charge, protect what’s mine, don’t mess with his girl type of hero. He definitely has a pass and emotions to work thought.
Luckily Atlee is there to take on that task. She cannot seem to say no to Wilson, no matter how much she tells herself she will…next time. She may not be able to say no to him but she is not scared to stand her grown either.
These to together were amazing. I adore this book. I adored this series and didn’t want it to end but Riley definitely left us hanging and wanted more with Jack and Cat. Cannot wait to see how these 2 finally get together.
Maryann has done it again we’ve known Sam for a while now we are getting his story and you won’t be disappointed intrigue, wonderful little ones, a unique love story that brings together Sam, the detective and Hayley Edwards and children. Hayley is the widow of Sam’s old partner who was killed in the line of duty. Sam has watched over this family for years and when he left for Baytown he truly missed the family. You will learn much about the reason he left but he has always cared for this family. Watch out these two little ones are going to bring tears and laughter to your eyes. Don’t miss this story it will keep you guessing but in true MaryAnn fashion it will give your heart strings a tug..
This is the book I didn’t know I needed! I listened to it in its entirety within 24 hours after purchasing. Stella and Jason are such a great balance to each other’s performance. Wilson and Atlee have strong personalities and their “one night stand” meet cute is so delicious. Stella and Jason are truly outstanding in all of the roads this story goes down: the plot is heavy and Riley writes this trafficking storyline with sensitivity, intelligence and action.
I really love the connection Wilson and Atlee forge as the story progresses and how they each let each other in. Their chemistry is off the charts, and Jason as Wilson is one of my favorite castings of him. This story was so gripping and the performances were well matched for this story.
Wilson and Atlee's story starts wirh a chance meeting at a bar. What they though was a one night stand turned akward the next day when Mrs S introduced her granddaughter to the team.
Atlee heads back to her job in Vegas after her weekend with her Grandmother only to be tangled up in Takebacks newest role.
Determined to assist Atlee refuses to walk away from her job to her detriment.
While working in Vegas Wilson and Atlee get closer but will he push her too far? Can he let go of his guilt? Can he save the one person who he would burn the world down for?
Another 5 star read from this author, brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💚
