Death, murder, women disappearing and intrigue are all found in Out of Breath, book two in Ms. James's Secrets of Brookhaven series and it is addictive. We are given a friends to lover romance full of suspense, danger and mystery.
The sheriff's department is still looking for the killer of Misty and Jayla, but now another woman is missing, Lindsey. Lieutenant Campbell McCoyn is one of the officers assigned to all the cases and he is determined to find the person or persons responsible for the missing and murdered women. The only thing is Kinsley, who we met in Out Of Sight, is his best friend and is trying hard to return to normal after her attack. Things start to happen around her house and she is wondering if she is having some after-effects from the attack. When things start to add up and there is no real answer, Cam decides that maybe there could be a connection to everything happening in Brookhaven. When Kin's life is in danger, true feelings are revealed.
Once again we are led down the path to ideas of who might be involved with all the disappearances, murders and what is happening to Kinsley but of course, Ms. James throws us a curve ball and what happened and who we thought were involved was all wrong.
I can't wait to read the conclusion of this series to see who the real murderer and kidnapper is.

Cam and Kinley
These two we're amazing to read!! They've known each other for years and have secretly wanted to be more than friends but we're too scared to act on it....that is until something else starts happening to Kinley, and everything is laid out. I loved how you saw these two slowly getting over what happened in the first book, and then BAM Kinley starts having new issues arise. And Cam is just as 🥵 and so sweet with Kinley it makes you smile
This is another 10 outta 10 for me, I highly recommend this book and am really looking forward to digging into the 3rd and final book of this series. Read this series and I promise you won't be disappointed!!!!
