Haley becomes the prime suspect in the murder. With a killer -- and a giant leprechaun -- on the loose, she must do some fast sleuthing to find the pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. Will she kiss the Blarney Stone -- or the hot new detective on the case?

Haley will need the luck of the Irish to find the killer -- and the hottest handbag of the season!

It was okay

Quick read, but really not worth my time. I love this series, but this novella wasn't that great. The murder wasn't interesting and the story was boring. Just my opinion.

Meh. Short. Read for St. Patrick’s Day. Cozy mystery about an event planner who must find out who murdered an employee at her caterer’s place.

Fun and Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, quick book for me to read. It's fun to read about Haley, almost always the #1 suspect. In this book Haley was once again the main suspect. She uses her time at her two jobs to figure out clues and ways to prove she is innocent. She has her private investigator friend help her with a few things. Plus, one of the police detectives (Dan) is really cute. She has no problem contacting him with questions, comments, or clues to help clear her name.

Haley is very fashionable. She likes to have the most current handbags/purses. Haley & her main bff, Marci, spend quite a bit of the book plotting back and forth how to get the newest bag. Haley goes to the mall the day of the big party and buys accessories to match her new bag (clothes :)).

I would recommend Duffel Bags and Drownings to others. I have read all Dorothy Howell's books in this series and enjoy them all. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

This is another Haley Randolph Mystery series. Haley has been an events planner at L.A. Affairs for a couple of months. One of her events involves coordinating a St. Patrick Day party for Hollywood couple, the Brannocks. Her mom used Cady Faye Catering in all of her charity events so Haley figures that they should be good enough for this Hollywood couple. Haley tries to stay out of the office as much as possible so she is following up with the catering company.
Haley discovers a dead body and figures she should try to solve the murder so there wouldn't be bad publicity for the catering company and L.A. Affairs. It is a short story so the novella is simple. It was an okay mystery.

Duffel bags & Drowninngs. BewAre! Another NOVELLA! So about 1/2 - 1/3 of HLey's typical adventure. Tho... I'd say that I enjoyed this more than the, other NOVELLA, Slay Bells & Sat he's. It includes a decent tho "

This is about 1/3- 1/2 the length of Haley's typical adventure & is NOT THAT DISCOUNTED :-( Tho, I did enjoy this NOVELLA more than Slay Bells & Satchels. The story was fairly simple (could have been a bit more complex), but guess that would require a longer story. I wish I could recommend, but the price is too high & description should state its a NOVELLA. THERE are many fine books available for .99 to 2.99. Better values.

This should be called DUFFEL BAGS AND DROWNINGS, A PARIS HILTON MYSTERY. Haley is the most vapid character ever created. Immediately after finding a dead body and talking to the police, she is looking at handbags to buy online. I think I'd be a little shaken up. I can buy a purse tomorrow, and I LOVE buying purses. She also has managed to land 2 jobs, even though she doesn't do any actual work at either of them. "I mean, really, just because you had a job, did that mean you had to actually work? Personally, I saw little correlation between the two." Holy cow! When the killer was trying to drown her at the end, I was thinking, "Yes! Do it!"

Ah, Haley Randolph…you just have to admire a woman who not only tries to avoid working while trying to keep a lucrative job, but does it so - so - I just shake my head and laugh. On one hand you want to smack her, on the other hand, well…let’s just say I always end up smiling. The lovely P.I. Jack Bishop is also back, along with a new, dishy detective and a new mystery.
