Recap - Thorn along with Mina and Akira goes on rescue mission to get Corvo back (Mina's husband). They go to a city to use their dimension gate, but the governor and his daughter are fighting worms in a mine. So Thorn enters the mine and finds a dragonkin and executes all the traitors. He's sent to the front where he beats 2 of dragon Generals and then is about to attack a dragon that comes to their rescue but is interrupted by the arbiter. Thorn goes to God beast city to meet the council who breaks Corvo's soul bond with his God beast Huginn in order to force Thorn to figure out the ritual to forge in new avatars. Thorn is able to save them both, and as his reward asks the council to sue for peace with Temple of man, and to declare war on dragons. He takes a missive back to the temple, and they agree. They declare war on dragons.
I LOVE THORN!!! Thorn is a Forge Master at heart. A gentle giant until you threaten him, the people(beings) he cares for, or innocent people who are being mistreated.
He surprises even the most ancient of beings with his rapid developments in physical and mental strength. He conquers the improbable, the impossible and unimaginable as a matter of course to the delight, awe, eye rolling, head shaking annoyance, and explosive wrath of friends and ancient powerful beings alike.
It’s awesome, hilarious, and all part of the wondrous being that is Thorn. AND HE’S A TITAN! That’s not a new reveal, but he’s continuing to evolve into THE Titan and it’s so exciting!!!
Oh, favorite new characters: 1. human manifestation of Hati 2. godbeast Ursa
And…. Thorn, Mina, and Akira finally rescue Corvo. Thought there would be a bigger reunion with Mina and Corvo…? And doggone it! I need more Velin!!
This kind of presented itself as a filler or side quest at first, but by the end it's clear that this is where things are now. I've been waiting for the plot to return to the puzzle and my mind is still somewhat lost after realizing this side quest is the real deal. I can't pivot so quickly lol. We spent so long training and preparing for the puzzle. Growing, navigating the political landscape, meeting family. The puzzle was meant to be our training montage, but instead, we left early, which broke my brain lol.
None of this says anything about the book or the writing though. I'm sure it was fine.
Book 6 of the Tower series. This book is as innovative and heart-pounding as the last. With twists and turns you do not see coming. Overall the series is strengthened in this unputdownable novel. This is one trust will keep you going right to the end. I love the theme of restoring order and how corruption from a third party can destroy the bonds between two allies. It is amazing the way the author is able to show enemies coming together to deal with a larger threat and that they can be so much more together than each individually.
Paths are never straightforward for Thorn, and his latest endeavor suffers from that same issue. With his eyes fixed on reaching his friend, Thorn finds himself enmeshed in a far grander conflict. I definitely did not see that twist coming, but it was fun, all the same!
I loved this book. The story line flows without any drab anecdotes in between keeping the reader engaged in the story. I just spent an entire night reading the entire book.
I cant wait for this series. Its money well spent and i look forward to the next chapter
Love this series. I kind of miss the forge and a bit more of the stat building but I'm sure that will come. Was a bit surprised the whole book diverted from the previous one's story and am looking forward to seeing how that ties up in future books.
The adventures of Thorn continue. I love this next installment of the series. It's one of my favorite series I can't wait for the next book to come out. If you haven't started this series go for it it's a great read and a great way to spend a weekend!
World building is great as usual. The MC is OP though... Has been since the first book. If you have made it this far into the series you already know that, expect it, try to ignore it and enjoy the rest of the story arcs and world building.
It feels like all the previous books lead to this one. Secrets are revealed, rivalries are changed and ended and wars are ended and begun! Lots of fun reading with action and adventure setting up the next book!
A long quest with some side trips to rescue Corvo and reunite with Mina, and at the end, repair a long-standing feud to focus on the real danger. Excellent editing. Two books remaining.
So it’s good, and I enjoyed it, but I’m getting tired of side adventures! It’s called the Tower series, but he’s never there! Through 6 whole books he’s only climbed a few floors.
We get a finish of temple of Man vs. the Beast Gods storyline. Thorn expanded who and what he is, and now the Dragon wars begin! All and all, great book.
Just finished the latest book in the Tower series. Thorn and his friend Mina (ice mage) and Akira (bonded magical fox) are trying to rescue Mina's husband Corvo from the Beast capital. They risk their very existance, for Aspects dwell there, super powered beings who can snuff out anyone that annoys them.
Meanwhile, dragons are provoking war between men and beasts and seeking to take territory.
Just the right challenge for Thorn as he tries to increase his strength!
Thorn continues to grow stronger as he embraces his Titan heritage further. Bringing it all together he is ready to rewrite the world order, just as the titans before him have done. But it’s not easy with the god beasts and church of man warring…
The sheer unbelievable world building, with magic, action, emotions, great characters, excellent storytelling, and a continued focus to write epic stories, this author should be at the top of what to read! Keep up the amazing writing!
