James Belmont, better known as Ghost, could never pass up a dare, and that tenacity made him lose the only woman he’d ever loved. He and his high school sweetheart waited until she finished med school to finally get married, but when his bachelor party leads to a drunken night and a horrible misunderstanding, she calls it all off. Ghost has no idea what really happened that night. The only thing he’s sure of is that nothing would ever make him cheat on Allison. And he’s determined to make her believe him. Allison was heartbroken when she found Ghost in bed with another woman, and it took everything she had not to return to him right away. Five years later, fate brings them back together as the Russian mafia storms the hospital where she works. Who better to sweep in and save the day than the man with whom she’d once planned to spend her life? However, Allison fears they missed their chance. Too much time has slipped away. But is it ever too late to be with the person you’re meant to love forever? It’s a good thing Ghost never backs down from a challenge.
Susie McIver is a native Californian and lifelong lover of great books. Born into a family of ten children, there were plenty of stories to tell and share. It’s only fitting she now writes books of her own. When she’s not writing or plotting her next book, she enjoys walking in nature, fishing in a lake near her home, reading, and spending as much time as she can with her three amazing children, five beautiful grandchildren, and her husband, whom she proudly says is her best friend in the world. The narrative features a dynamic and suspenseful story with unexpected twists and layers of intrigue. It focuses on a male protagonist dedicated to protecting a female character from danger. Central characters are charismatic alpha males guided by strong morals, who confront formidable adversaries and dark forces. Themes of brotherhood and loyalty are prominent, highlighting their commitment to loved ones and allies, while also emphasizing the importance of familial bonds in overcoming challenges.
We met James Belmont, aka Ghost, in the previous book as he was trying to make things right with his long-time girlfriend, Allison Reed. Allison believed that he had cheated on her, but he would never, he has loved her since they were teens! He was set up, but doesn’t know by who or why. Alison, who is now a doctor, is badly injured when the hospital is attacked. Ghost doesn’t know if she will survive, but spends every day with her and unbelievably when she awakens, she has no memories of the past years. She loves him and wants to marry him! Ghost is a member of the Delta Force Guardians, ex-military who take on assignments that the current military can’t. While he is away on a mission, Allison spends her days assisting the families on the mountain and once again she faces danger. When Ghost returns, he will not stop until she is safely back in his arms. Even on their honeymoon, trouble seems to find them! An exciting blend of family relationships with non-stop action and romance for Ghost and Allison! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. This was about Alison who's hospital is raided by the Russian Mafia and is up to Ghost and his team to help them.
Fast paced and heaps of action and drama swept me along in this book. It was over way too soon but a wonderful read that I'll revisit I'm sure.
Ghost and Alison have a heart break history but the attraction is hot and firing to go again as soon as they met again. Chemistry that is started in friction but smooths out very quick.
Extremely well done. Loving this author and her books the more I get to read them. Can't wait for more!
A story with good characters And interesting circumstances
Well this book can be a little bit confusing I found the characters were likable enjoyable sometimes weird. There were interesting circumstances throughout the story.. There were some mysteries but they weren't deep and tangled which you made it easier to decipher who was bad and good. There was a couple of crazy ones in there Towards it and as Towards it and as well. I still enjoy I still enjoy this book it was light reading And as said As said sometimes it can be confusing but stick with it you like it
James Belmont is known as Ghost from Delta Force Guardians. He lost his woman that he loves more. Allison was the one he loved but the lost. She found him asleep with a woman in his bed. She breaks up with him but he tries together together but she gets shot by him because she ran into him. She lost her memory thinking they were still dating. They end up getting married but she remembers but because she wanted them to get together
Susie McIver has done a great job telling the story of GHOST and Allison. Loved the different emotional levels she brought to the storyline. If you are interested in suspense, danger, feelings of betrayal and regret, love and family then this book is for you. The characters in this series create an amazing family feel that makes one eager for the next installment. Very thankful for this ARC copy.
You could already read about the problems between Ghost and Allison in the previous books. But they simply belong together. I've been looking forward to this release and the wait was worth it. Another wonderfully written book Susie. I can hardly wait for the release of Rebel.
Ghost and Allison belong together, this is th best book, I've been waiting for it's relese, and the wait was worth it. Another great book from Susie McIver. I can't wait for Rebel"s release.
This book was quite the read. It had it all; action, adventure, romance, suspense and some twists. The characters were well written and a bit quirky. Living on the "mountain" seems quite interesting. I would recommend this book.
These three books are the best I have read lately. I am glad I found them. I will looking for next book to drop. I love Charlie and Steel as well as all the other characters.
It was great to finally get the whole story about what happened between Ghost and Allison 6 years ago. It was also fun to catch up with the rest of the gang on the mountain (and off). Susie McIver writes a suspenseful and fun world that would be fun to live in.
Do far this us the third book I have completed and the series is fantastic. The main and supply characters are well written. The series flows and ties in from one story to the next. Can't wait to read number 4
Protector romances are always a fun read. I love all the drama they seem to have and I basically know it somewhat follows real drama but the author sure makes it feel real.
Wow, there is a lot going on in this book. It's not only Ghost, but other family members, A rescue in Afghanistan, Robin's brother Todd's murder to name a few. Danger, suspense and new beginnings. HEA.
