Once Upon a Billionaire #4

Rosabel and the Billionaire Beast

Rate this book
A series of rumors, a threat from the past, and a love that can never be.

ROSABEL
Duncan Hawthorne is an absolute beast. I’ve survived working as his assistant for a year…and people at the office question why.

Rumors, I can handle. But I’m done working for someone so selfish and demanding.

When I quit, he wants me back. He makes me an offer I can’t refuse.

Too bad saying yes plunges me into a world far worse than office gossip.

DUNCAN
When threats target Rosabel, I don’t waste time whisking her away to a hidden mountain cove. The distance may be enough to stop the threats—but there’s still the massive secret I can’t seem to hide any

How I feel about her.

The truth can’t ever come to light, no matter what. Because one thing is completely clear—as long as no one knows I love her, she’s safe.

But tucked away in the mountains, living in the same house with her, the walls I’ve crafted so carefully are slowly crashing down.

Sooner or later, something’s bound to break, and I’ll do whatever it takes to ensure it’s not me.

If that means pushing her away, so be it.

If you like the blazing chemistry of Anne-Marie Meyer and the heroic romance of Cami Checketts, you’ll sizzle from the supercharged chemistry and fairytale feel of this engrossing series.

Buy ROSABEL AND THE BILLIONAIRE BEAST, a Beauty and the Beast retelling with suspense, to see if love can go beyond what’s seen on the surface.

This book has been recently revised with an all-new additional plotline and over 30,000 more words jammed with snarky scenes, steamy kisses, and heartfelt, closed-door romance.

It also ends on a cliffhanger.

Very good usage of the grumpy love interest trope—it fits perfectly with a fairy tale retelling of Beauty and the Beast! You’ve got a weary heroine reaching her breaking point and a well-meaning but so clueless that he lays his meanness on thick type of hero. I seriously thought that he might have a personality disorder, haha, and that he was bad at using words of affirmation even before the passage on love languages came up! I guess that his character arc’s change is best described as when he says, “I hadn’t meant to be so forceful.” I also thought that Rosabel seemed to be more well-rounded than Duncan was, although in the case of their upbringings, it is illustrated how difficult that was for Duncan.

Seriously—if they hadn’t gotten into a different situation together, I do think that it would’ve been too hard for Rosabel to fall in love with Duncan. But they made it work in the end! I’m looking forward to having the rest of the story resolved in the next installment in the series, which is a bit different compared to its predecessors.

I also loved the eloquent writing and the humour, I thought that Rosabel’s ex Pete and her coworkers sounded like douches, and I very much felt the tension building the closer that the ending of the book drew near.

Overall, I think that this book was very cinematic; it would make for a great rom-com movie! It’s like a gender-flipped version of The Proposal—very slow-burn and requiring them to be real with each other.

Favorite quote: “I needed to get away from him—from this romantic setting, from the way he continued to play pinball with my heart.”

Slightly different take on the classic fairytale

In this version of the fairytale, Duncan's essentially been turned into a beast by his own family.

Rosabel is tired of her boss taking her for granted & being gruff with her. Duncan's not the most empathetic kind of guy, but he's been trying to squelch office rumors about the two of them that he knows have been bugging her. He's shocked once he realizes that she didn't understand what he'd been doing as he thought she did.

The two of them have been physically attracted to each other since she started working for him, but they have to figure out how to be together, or if they even can be together.

There are a few laggy moments, but it's well constructed & developed, for the most part. I love stories where we see the hero & heroine give each other the gift of trying to become their best selves.

Not only does Duncan learn how to love Rosabel in her own language, but Rosabel learns that she can be a little beastly herself & focuses on better understanding her challenging lover instead of expecting him to make all the efforts at understanding her, as well as self-examination & correction.

Their commitment to each other is a beautiful reminder that love is more than just passion - it's a decision!

*Clean romance level: passionate kisses, nothing graphic

Cliffhanger?!… worth it!
Author, Catelyn Meadows does it again with this revamped edition! This series keeps getting better and this book ends with a full blown cliffhanger that will leave you screaming “WHAT?!?!” This book has a sizzling slow burn romance with Rosabel’s hatred that masks an unconscious build of love that the heroine is unwilling to acknowledge. A slow burn desire for that first kiss that will leave you yearning for it to “just happen already!” The Author does a great job at creating characters who will remind you of the childhood cartoon we all loved and cheered for as the beast got his girl. This book is well written with a light dose of suspense that requires the series to be read in order. So if you haven’t yet, start reading from the beginning TODAY because you don’t want to miss out on Rosabel and the Billionaire Beast as the suspense continues.
I received this book for free and I gladly provide my personal opinion of the story.

CLASIFICATION: 2.5 ESTRELLAS

I fell for this story from the first chapter. I really enjoyed the main characters and the alternating pov between Rosabel and Duncan. I think the development of their relationship was believable and I really enjoyed the great advice she learned from her dad. Seek to understand instead of being understood. Also loved the fact that her uncle called it maintenance to keep his relationship alive and well by always being the first person to apologize and make things right.
The contrast between the two families helped you see why they would respond differently to the same situation.
I also appreciate the fact that the author kept it clean with no objectionable material.
I'm excited to read more in the series and hope the other authors are just as amazing with their stories.

WOW Catelyn has honestly done it again because this fourth book in this series is to die for. I was sucked right in from the start, and I felt like I could follow the characters and storyline as I read about them. This was an easy book to fall in love with and like the first three books in this series this book is like lighting a candle it burns brightly. I also love how this book is like a romantic fairytale that every little girl dreams about and when you get older find your happily ever after of a man. I think this book has to be my favorite so far because Beauty and The Beast is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE movie.

The Beast in this story is Rosabel's mean boss who does not know how to compliment his assistant or use the words please and thank you. Duncan does not know how to deal with his feelings for Rosabel so he treats her poorly at work to stop her coworkers from gossiping and speculating about their relationship.
I enjoyed learning about Duncan's family dynamic with his mom and grandmother. I also enjoyed watching him change from Rosabel's influence. Eureka Spring sounds like a fun town and the homes on the lake are so beautiful.

I thought the ending of the story was very interesting too! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

What a sweet modern day Beauty and the Beast tale that definitely has some sour moments. Like most Beast plots, Duncan changes a little bit here and there throughout this book. Dude really just needed a hug or maybe just a magical kiss or two. By the end he's swoon worthy and ready to earn his Rose's heart.

If you are drawn to sweet and clean books, Catelyn Meadows absolutely delivers. Her books are well told and thought provoking. She always adds layers of real life worries and situations that just make her words so much more relatable. Her characters are intelligent and articulate.

Don't let this pass you by! One-click today and fall for Rosabel and Duncan.

Rosabel is Duncan’s assistant until one day she decides to quit. He realizes he really needs her, so he makes her an offer she can’t refuse in order to go home and act as a sort of buffer between him and his family, who he hasn’t seen in 3 years.

Certain things seemed unrealistic. For example, how Duncan’s family asked Rosabel to order 95 bouquets of flowers for the birthday party. First, they would have used their own assistant for that. Second, that’s not the kind of thing that is ordered just a day or two before the event (esp. with that quantity of flowers)..

Duncan’s parents were really something else. He really thrived despite them.

This was a cute story to read.

This book was good. I wouldn't say it was really a beauty and the beast vibes. It is about a man who has a temper ans Rosabel is done and over being his assistant because of how rude and condescending he can be. He asks her to go to his grandmother's birthday and she made her conditions. Since realizing how bad of a temper he had and the way he treated people, he starts to open up to rosabel. She realizes that he doesn't know how to treat people differently because that is how his family treats him and how they raised him.
I enjoyed this story because Rosabel stood up to her boss and fel in love with him through his flaws that he is trying to correct.

I have loved this second edition of Rosabel and the Billionaire Beast! It's got more depth and character development than the first edition did. It has more backstory and I'm loving how the beast is so tender. I love how Duncan and Rosabel work together - how Duncan will do anything to protect Rosabel, including taking her to a different state under the guise of paying for her father's medical costs when she quits working for him. I don't like that she has no idea of the danger she's in, until she knows. Very well written with real characters.

This is Book 4 in the Once Upon a Billionaire Series by this author. It is a modern day re-telling of the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, a heartwarming romance between Rosabel and her boss Duncan. These likeable characters and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. It is a slow burn love story with enough drama, steam, suspense, frustrating moments, sweetness, twists and turns, and engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Entertaining.

I think this is probably one of the strongest of the author's fairy tale-inspired romances. With their ways of thinking, this could easily have been a Pride and Prejudice retelling, but there were enough Beauty and the Beast touches to make it fit in with the rest of the series. Neither of the main characters was perfect. She irritated me more than he did at times. If we expect someone to fail, they will eventually. The ending was satisfying.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A wonderful sweet romantic romance. This well written engaging storyline has lack of communication, misunderstandings, family drama, passionate kissing, ups and downs, witty banter, and love. The characters are interesting and well developed with amazing chemistry. I voluntarily read and reviewed this incredible ARC.

Stupendous!

Wow. I LOVED THIS BOOK! First time reading your book and it was absolutely a thrill. Especially because at the beginning, it was so very different from the normal clean romance. With the girl not able to stand the guy, not understanding that they were fighting their feelings for each other😁. It was a CLEAN SWEET READ. THANK YOU!

I really enjoyed reading this book! Rosebel is secretary to "the beast". He likes her but to keep office rumor down he treats her like he could care less. Her father has Alzheimers, so she has to hire someone to stay with him while she works, so money is tight. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read romance books!

Feisty meets grumpy

I don’t normally read contemporary, but this is a clean, sweet story of a man who grew up in a icy atmosphere and a woman who thaws him out. I loved how the author involved her dad, who had Alzheimer’s as it touched me with my own Mom. Moments of clarity was precious and it warmed my heart to read it. Truly a wonderful entertaining read

Rosabel is Duncan's assistant and she hates her job, Duncan is rude, bossy and just unpleasant. Secretly Duncan may have feelings for his assistant but because of The Pact he can never let her know. It was interesting the things Duncan the Beast did to keep Rosabel safe from whoever is out there. The book was full of surprises and things that happened that made it hard to know who to trust.

Rosabel is quite a strong woman. She tries hard to keep her job because she takes care of her Dad. No one else has lasted this long. All kinds of rumours but Rosabel is the only one who knows the truth. Loved this book as always.

This was an interesting book. There was such a strong level of disdain! And he was SUCH a jerk! And it was a believable transformation. I’m glad there was an extended timeline to show proof that he really had changed. It was a cute story.

Way to touch freely for me.

It was well written but I didn’t feel any connection between the H/h.

I didn’t even make ITV to the HEA.

Nice clean take on the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast. A workplace romance. Almost a 5 star for me, just felt like something was off, but overall enjoyable.
