Heart-pounding romance. Unforgettable heroes. Sizzling happily-ever-afters—with a side of suspense that'll keep you up way past bedtime.

I dreamed of being a writer as a kid but took the "safe" route: journalism degree, advertising career, MBA, corporate gigs at Chase and Universal. Then in 2020, I said screw it and published my first book. Twenty-five books later, I'm living the dream.

I'm also a mom to two teenage daughters who are perpetually mortified by my career choices. My husband's an entrepreneur whose latest product is Nampons (yes, it rhymes with tampons and yes, it's for nosebleeds). Between my spicy romance and his biz... we've cornered the market on parental embarrassment.

My books feature tough characters facing tougher choices, compelling suspense, and storylines that'll make you think. But no matter how dark things get, my people always choose love.

Sloane and Max. Sloane is Sage’s sister and Max is another ex-SEAL, Knox’s friend.
The book can be read as a standalone but it makes a lot more sense if you have read Stolen Beauty prior to this.

Sloane is a very weird MC. She is socially awkward, extremely honest and straightforward. Unlike most people, she simply speaks her mind and that gave me a few laughs.

I was expecting Max to be grumpy but he turned out to be a sweetheart who fell fast and hard.

I liked that the spice was only complementary to the story which, like the previous book, has action and mystery.

I would have liked to read more of Sloane’s thoughts as she experienced different feelings about Max, how things changed for her, since she is such a unique person.
What I didn’t like, was their exchanging I<3U so soon, it made no sense. In a nutshell, I enjoyed it a lot more than the first one but wanted to see some more interactions between the couple.

-Dual 1st person POV
-Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Overall: 3.75/5 ⭐️ for me.

Thank you so much Isabel Jolie for providing this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Ms. Jolie's book are always very detailed. Her attention to detail is what sets her apart from other authors. In this book Sloane, Sage's sister, is kidnapped and then rescued by Max's team at Arrow Tactical Security. Max must work closely with Sloane to keep her safe. The storyline is suspenseful and full of action. And when Max and Sloane come together sparks fly.

This book follows Sloane, she works in a research facility and she turns out to be missing except when her sister Sage goes to Sloane’s boss about her lack of communication and she finds out that Sloane sent in an email resigning from her job. There was only one problem, Sloane didn’t send any email and she loved her job. Her sister informs her boyfriend of her sister missing and he along with Max work on finding and rescuing her.

This is book five but I did not feel like I missed anything by skipping the first four, however this book was so good I do want to go back and read those. I’m a first time reader of Isabel and let me tell you, I don’t regret a single moment. This book kept me on my toes, I was trying to guess who the bad guy was at almost every turn and lord knows how I love books that keep me guessing. I loved Max, when he was first introduced you would think that he’s a grumpy individual but he turns out to be such a cutie who just happened to be hurt in his past relationship. I need the next book already and you should definitely give this book a try.

This is book five of The Arrow Tactical series and former SEAL Max Hawkins is one of the Arrow team sent to protect scientist Sloane Watson, after she was taken hostage and made to work in a camp in Cambodia, testing workers for donor organ criteria, before being rescued. He is introduced to her whilst she is in hospital and as soon as she awakes, she wants to get her job back and get back to work. Someone hired an assassin to take her out and they need to work out what part of her work has made her a target. She was working for a company in the Cayman Islands, pushing the fourteen day marker for working on growing organ tissue from stem cells for future transplant research, as well as another project on anti-aging which is more commercial. Why someone has come for her is a mystery and it was her sister Sage, who was going out with Knox, one of Max’s colleagues, who pushed for them to find her. Sloane is not the type of person who can connect with others easily, as she has always had a focus on academics and her work, not so much with people. Only her sister seems to understand her. Even the CIA have become involved in case, with some wondering how much Sloane might have been involved in something illegal, that has played a part in her abduction. Sloane only deals in facts and figures, or anything she can research. She soon finds that her boss hasn’t been seen at the lab and supposedly, Sloane emailed her to resign with no notice!

Sloane had been about to send in a report for peer review, about her findings about organ donation survival rates and a strange anomaly she had found on black market organ donation cancer rates. Somehow, her research has discovered something that others will pay to make sure she doesn’t publicise. Sloane wants her laptop and her hard drives from her lab, so she can keep on working. She had been forced to work in the compound in Cambodia, doing blood tests to check for organ matches, by threatening to hurt her sister Sage. The CIA and other organisations wonder if her boss or former supervisor were involved in trying to silence her! It won’t be the last attempt and they have already gone after Sage twice and even killed one of their ex-SEAL buddies, as well as burnt down Sage’s home. Sloane is a very complex character, who doesn’t see relationships the same as other people, using others as she needs them. She feels a sexual attraction to Max, but wonders if he uses drugs to get as big as he is, which she doesn’t believe in, knowing how dangerous they can be! When she offers herself to him, he refuses, trying to stay professional so he can keep her safe. But there is only so much he can resist as he spends even more time alone with her. He begins to trust her completely and believes her boss or former supervisor are part of whoever was behind setting an assassin on her, but she refuses to believe that. She is a little too trusting at times, but people will often underestimate her. She was trained how to defend herself by her brother, as was Sage, and that training will prove essential as she finds herself in some dangerous situations without her protector! Max will soon understand she is like no other woman he has ever known and will be just the challenge he needs, according to his mother, as he finds himself falling for her no matter how hard he tries to resist. A slow burn romance, within a tale of a scientist needing protection from Arrow Tactical Security, who is a bit innocent on the way of the world, no matter how intelligent she is.

I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Another brilliant read from Isabel - she never disappoints! You will love Sloane - she is very strong willed and forthright, bordering on being extremely blunt! This is a quality that Max greatly admires in her. Her fault is her blinding trust of people/work colleagues that she shouldn’t!

The sizzle between Max and Sloane jumps off the page - it is electric! These two are so alike in many ways but yet so different in others and I love seeing their relationship develop both inside and outside the bedroom. With both of them being dominant personalities, it is never boring! Hence, the book is action packed both inside and outside the bedroom. The story will captivate you - it is full of drama, sexual tension, passion, danger and a few other twist and turns ….. you will be hooked!

A thoroughly enjoyable read from one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. You will fall in love with Max and Sloane, hoping that everything with work out for them and they have a future together. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

This is book five in The Arrow Tactical Security series and it is Max and Sloane’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Max is a former seal and black ops security team member and now works for Arrow Tactical Security and he lives by a high standard and always makes sure that if he had a job to do he did it with no questions asked and his next assignment was to rescue Sloane from a compound where she was being held against her will. Sloane is a brilliant scientist who lives by her own rules, she is quite clever and quiet but doesn’t do well with people which is fine by her but when she is kidnapped her sister Sage will do everything and anything possible to get her rescued and brought back home. When Sloane is missing it is Sage that raises the alarm and it is Max and the Arrow Team that went to rescue her but somehow something went wrong and Sloane ended up in hospital. Sloane is so intelligent, strong, sassy, has strong beliefs about right and wrong, loves hard, speaks before she thinks and is a bad a## knife thrower and is also a complete joy to be around and I absolutely loved listening to her talk about everything and so many statistics without any filter whatsoever and then you have Max who is a strong protector who has had his own share of problems but is always there to help the people that he cares about and who are like family to him and when Sloane and Max are together things absolutely ignites between them and when they eventually give into there chemistry because it can not be denied they are explosive. Wow this book will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions that will have you on the edge of your seat while holding your breath and turning the pages to see what will happen next and the twists and turns along with the storyline will pull you in and keep your attention throughout because it is so addictive and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Savage Beauty is Book #2 in the Beauty Trilogy within the Arrow Tactical Series by Isabel Jolie and I was anxiously awaiting this one since I previously stated that Book #1, Stolen Beauty, was my absolute favorite Isabel Jolie book of all time. I had a feeling this one would continue in the same fashion and follow a similar story line which I can happily say it most certainly did. Savage Beauty is Sage’s sister Sloane’s story and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that she appears to be a highly intelligent, highly functioning individual on the spectrum. When I say surprised, I mean that I didn’t pick up on that aspect of her personality when she was introduced to us in Stolen Beauty. I’m not particularly well informed regarding autism and such, but my personal opinion is that Ms. Jolie did an incredible job of portraying her and giving the reader an insight into her very unique personality. I really enjoyed how much Max enjoyed her refreshing “tell it like it is” attitude. They’re a perfect match and their story is quite special. This one is filled with just as much adventure, drama and suspense while still providing that exciting but compassionate love story I look for in the romantic suspense genre. As with the other books in all of Ms. Jolie’s series, this one can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend reading them in order to get the most out of these reads. I’m very grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an advance copy of this 5+ star book.

Isabel Jolie makes me eat my own words — again! The previous book that featured Sloane’s sister took my number one spot for books of the year. But here I am, having to concede and admit that her sister knocked her right off the pedestal. I loved picking right where we left off – Sloane rescued and in the hospital. But buckle up, hold on tight, and be ready for another adventure!

Sloane is quite a bit different from Sage and it doesn’t take long to pick up on her quirks. She’s incredibly intelligent, constantly looking at things with a pair of science eyes. To me, she comes across as being on the spectrum, but as high functioning. It gives her a unique characterization that I haven’t frequently read, and I loved it! Her talents and skills are unlike any other and when they’re revealed, I found myself saying “That is KICK @$$”!

Max attempts to come across as grumpy as he often looks back at Knox and Sage, wondering if his friend fell too quickly. Yet when he’s with Sloane, we get to watch him fall hard and quickly. He doesn’t look at Sloane as those she’s different — he absorbs all of her unique qualities and praises them, frequently being relieved that she’s straight up and to the point.

As always, the romance is fantastic, but Jolie gets me pulled under with her incredible plots. This one did not disappoint in detail, the constant nag of suspense just around the corner, and an incredible finish that leaves you desperate for the next book of the series. I’ve never read anything quite like this series and I am here for every last book!

Savage Beauty is Book #2 in the Beauty Trilogy within the Arrow Tactical Series by Isabel Jolie
Max Hawkins, an ex-SEAL and member of an elite black-ops security team, excels at getting the job done.
And that's exactly what he did when he rescued a pretty scientist from a lunatic.
Sloane Watson is a brilliant scientist who excels at academics but struggles in most other areas of life- especially human connections. Her heaven is her work, or it was until she stumbled onto deadly secrets.
It is Max who Sloane turns to when she needs answers to what happened to her and why.
He agrees, even if it is against what he thinks is right, but in the end he will do what he needs to, and more, to keep Sloane safe and protected and also help her to figure things out for herself.
Their lives depend on finding a way to work together, which requires concessions neither wants to make.
For the first time, success will be defined by something other than career, and the stakes on the line are the most important of their lives- and their hearts.
The plot was filled with suspense, intrigue, evil men in pursuit, ex-military black ops to the rescue, breaking into the research facility, taking care of business, a chance meeting with a superior, a big blow-up, a welcomed reconciliation, trapped in the research facility, typical the kind of read I like, and Isabel Jolie provides.
The series and book are a must read !!

As with the other books in this entire series this was a quick and fun read. I absolutely loved the two characters together. I would have liked to have gotten Max's backstory a little more but it was nice to see how he reacted to Sloan's bluntness and forwardness. The surveillance in the car banter had me giggling for a full 3 minutes and was honestly worth the cost of the entire series. I literally gasped and cackled. As with the other books in the series this ending was also predictable. The bad guys were easily discernible from the beginning. Even if we don't know who the big bad is I'm guessing that will be fleshed out in the next book since this is a trilogy.

My biggest problem with this book is that Sloan is clearly on the autism spectrum and this was never mentioned or suggested. I find that highly unusual for someone who spent so much time around doctors and hospitals even if she was not the main patient. But even if we go with the pretense that she was never diagnosed as a child the fact that in her teen, college, or subsequent work life nobody in the scientific field bother to suggest that she might be on the Spectrum is highly suspect, and honestly very sad for the main character as the diagnosis would allow people around her a rationale and understanding of her behavior.

All this being said it was still a very enjoyable read and probably one of my favorites in the series.

They may be opposites but they are a perfect fit

Savage Beauty is the fifth book in The Arrow Tactical Series and is the story of Sloane and Max. Sloane is Sage's sister, her and Knox's story if in the previous book, Stolen Beauty. Sloane is a scientist who is a very interesting character with a lot of nuances and sides. She is regimented by her love of science, as it makes sense to her, but she is also able to open herself up to other things, including some very naughty passionate fun. Max is highly regimented also as he is a former Navy SEAL. He helped rescue Sloane when she was taken and it is Max who Sloane turns to when she needs answers to what happened to her and why. He agrees, even if it is against what he thinks is right, but in the end he will do what he needs to, and more, to keep Sloane save and protected and also help her to figure things out for herself.
This story is a "continuation" from Stolen Beauty as it was Sloane who was kidnapped in that book. I loved this book and the way the author wrote the characters of Sloane and Max. You can see that Sloane struggles with situations and people in life and Max is able to not only reach her but also connect with her. It is a love story at the heart of it all....and a beautiful one at that.

She lives by the rules of science.

He operates by a code of duty and honor.

But when their worlds collide, the heat between them will melt every rule in the book.

Their journey is enthralling with the savage beauty, explicit romance that is engulfed by steamy sizzling passion, lust, desire, and spice with all the feelings to leave readers breathless and begging for more, romantic suspense, action and adventure, heroine in danger, mystery, happily ever after, full of heat, deadly secrets, heartfelt emotions, danger, drama, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with savage beauty and explicit romance that will be sure to transport readers into a world that is dangerous and unforgettable.

Intriguing and unique page-turner.

This is book 2 of The Beauty Trilogy within the Arrow Tactical Series. Having read book 1, Stolen Beauty, I was curious about Max and Sloane's story. Sloan is a unique and interesting female lead and I loved her inner dialogue when reading from her POV. The fact that Max falls in love with and celebrates her 'differences' was a highlight for me. The action and intrigue within the story kept me eagerly turning the pages, and I enjoyed the spice and intimacy between the two leads. The epilogue gives a heartwarming glimpse into the future for Max and Sloane, as well as Knox and Sage from book 1, and the author leaves us with a snippet of 'Sinful Beauty' which has me eagerly awaiting the last book in the Beauty Trilogy, but even more so, 'Gilded Saint', book 1 of the final Arrow Tactical Series trilogy.

Savage Beauty is the 2nd book in a trilogy within the larger Arrow Tactical series and should be read after the previous one. Stolen Beauty, as it continues straight one from where it ended. Sloane and Max are both great main characters, although the focus is clearly on her: Highly intelligent, socially awkward, no filters to speak of, open to all sorts of sexy times, Sloane is a unique heroine who reveals hidden capabilities throughout the book. Their story is full of intrigue and suspense, with enough theories and what-ifs to make your head spin, a well-deserved HEA for the couple and a wonderful gimpse into the sisters' future. I can't wait for the next books when we're sure to catch up with them again!

This is the second book in the Beauty Trilogy, and also the fifth book in the Arrow Tactical series. I am happy to have read the previous books because it’s building on a bigger story. This story follows on from book 4–Sloane was a scientist working in the Caymans who went missing, so expect some danger & suspense. Sloane’s work hyperfocus is based on her love for her sister Sage. Sage’s husband’s BF & security colleague Max is tasked with Sloane’s safety. Sloane is determined to get back to her work & find out what triggered her abduction. She’s a strong, competent heroine on a mission and she will go through anyone in her way (knives, anyone?). I loved Max & Sloane together—Max needs Sloane’s honesty to heal and Sloane finds she tolerates Max, who sees her depths. I can’t wait to see how the author is going to wrap up this intriguing series.

At the end of the previous book, there were still some questions I wanted the answers to, and this one has given me a lot of them. (It also proceeded to open up a Pandora’s box of new possibilities I want to know more about.) These two could be the textbook definition of opposites, but there’s still a strong connection pulling them together in spite of it. I was fascinated watching the push/pull dynamic between Sloane and Max. The mystery they were chasing kept me glued to the pages while the pair of them chipped away at each other’s defenses. This was perhaps the most unlikely pairing I think I’ve seen in this series, but the author made it work. I can’t explain how or why, I just know I really loved these two together. And I’m already counting down until I can get my hands on the next book.

Oh My!

This Book had everything and more that you would want to read in a book.

Suspense, Intrigue, Hot as all that!

Please read Stolen Beauty first which his the book where we meet Sage who is Sloanes little Sister and the story behind It all.

Sloane is a Top Class Scientist who works Inside her brilliant head more than associate with the real world most of the time. To say she is Stubborn and used to her own bubble is putting it Mildly.

Max has his work cut out looking after this lady but accepts the challenge whole heartily eventually, not wanting anything to happen to her, especially on his watch.

I won't say anymore as I do not want to spoil how the story goes for anyone else but belief me, just like the previous book, this one will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next to this beautiful Lady and Max

'Savage Beauty' was riveting. Its pulsating plot was filled with suspense, intrigue, organ harvesting research gone awry, evil men in pursuit, ex-military black ops to the rescue, Interpol's involvement, snorkeling, spotting the assassin, saying what's on one's mind, breaking into the research facility, taking care of business, a chance meeting with a superior, a big blow-up, a welcomed reconciliation, trapped in the research facility, uh oh!, confessions at will, knives at a gunfight?, wisps of levity, and love. Interestingly, Max and Sloane, the protagonists, were well-suited for each other and worked at reaching their HEA. Also, the author's use of vivid descriptions created a suspenseful tone. Overall, I liked the thrilling narrative.

Savage Beauty is dynamic! Packed with action, intrigue, suspense, and fiery connection, this novel has all the feels and kept me engaged from start to finish. Sloan is a firecracker—direct, honest, open, brilliant, and definitely on the high functioning end of the spectrum. Max sees her—truly sees her—for who she is, and is determined to keep her safe. Their personalities are so beautifully developed—I just love the connection he has with his parents and how he is willing to help those in need, even if they haven’t been nice to him. The overarching plot line of the series takes some interesting twists, and the sexual tension between Max and Sloane is powerful. I loved this story and can’t wait for the next book in the series!.

So glad to get my hands on the ARC of Savage beauty in exchange for my honest opinion.

I absolutely loved Sloane, a unique character and loved she was so badass and full of surprises. Sloane and Max’s story had a lot of suspense, which I enjoyed immensely, and despite my lack of enthusiasm for instant love stories, theirs showed the attraction between two people and went through a lot of extreme situations together, so it didn’t feel awkward for the relatively fast paced “romance” between them.
Also, yes, there’s romance, but the story itself had more to give than just the romance part. And the fact I couldn’t make up my mind if Sloane was a bit suspicious or not for quite a while, it felt like she is a morally grey character and it felt refreshing.

What a trip. If you haven't read the first of the trilogy (which I haven't) it can be read standalone, but be aware that this one is a spoiler - given that part of the book is about the suspense so much of that will be ruined I would imagine.
While the suspense and mystery moved the plot along, what I liked most about this book was Sloane. She was a salty Mr Spock with no filter. I mean NO filter. As Max said many a time throughout, you never know what she's going to say next. And sometimes it was so off the wall it was hilarious. This is not a comedic novel but my goodness I had a good laugh at times.

4.25 - 4.5 stars.

Part two in this trilogy and part of a longer series gives Sage's sister Sloane time to shine, for what happened to her in Stollen beauty to be explained some more, and for that story to continue. It was nice to get to know Sloane some more, what an interesting character she was, seeing her and Max together made me smile. I still have questions but I've worked out that I need to read at least the next two books to get my answers, and I am ok with that. I enjoyed the different relationships in this, how out past experiences shape us, the danger, secrets, mystery, connections, chemistry and seeing two very different people fall in love.

Fabulous:
This was another great addition to what has already been a thrilling series. It would be best to read the preceding book (Stolen Beauty) prior to this as there is a continuation of the mystery and interconnecting characters.
I really enjoyed the mystery and intrigue and was kept guessing right until the end. It took me a while to warm up to Sloane as she came across as blunt and rude but once you accept she's probably on the spectrum, a lot of her comments and thoughts are actually humorous. Overall I liked Max and Sloane as a couple and was so happy that they got to have their HEA.

Once again such a fun addition to the series the mystery and intrigue just keeps rolling! This is about Sloane after she is rescued form Cambodia. Sloane is a bit different than other people besides being highly intelligent, she has things she can not tolerate. Sloane knows what she wants and what she can and can not do. Seemingly on the Spectrum yet high functioning she is accustomed to closely controlling her environment. Well Max shakes up her world! Max is anything but annoyed by Sloane's routines he finds her matter of fact attitude refreshing. These two really are perfectly compatible! Loved this book!

I really enjoyed this book. It is part of the Arrow Tactical Security Series of which I have read all to date. I loved this book as it was so fast moving -had mystery and a love story combined. Max was a character so defined that he came alive on the pages. His protection of Sloane turned to a greater attraction. Sloane was a very focused character-set in her ways and so focused on her job. The mystery part really kept you reading. This was a book that was hard to put down-I started it one day and finished it the next! All I can say is Wow!! I cannot wait for the next book I. This series.

Savage Beauty is the fifth book in the Arrow Tactical Security series (second in the Beauty trilogy) by Isabel Jolie. These books are just so intriguing and so well thought-out, you can't help but be immersed from beginning to end. This is Max and Sloane's story, which I had really been looking forward to, and I was not at all disappointed. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat, and throw in the romantic part of the story, I was all in! It can be read as a stand-alone, but it's even better if you've read Stolen Beauty, but no matter what, read this book! You will not be disappointed! Highly recommended with way more than five stars!

Sloane behaves and acts female version of Sheldon from Big bang theory. She is smart and brilliant in area of her expertise but honest to the fault and lack of social skills. She has one goal in her mind and get back to work. She will have to go back to island and Max decided protect her and go back wit her.
It should be simple to retrieve her laptop and go back but things get complicated. Her bluntness and honesty intrigues Max and they get closer. But she is not sure what her feelings are. Everything seems to move along and she doesn't hide her feelings from Max. However, she won't give up her work and their relationship won't last beyond this island.
I did enjoy previous book (Sloane's sister and Max's best friend Maddox) and story continues. It took bit more time than previous one to get into. I would give solid 3 1/2 stars.

I received an ARC copy of this book via the author, and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Wow... I absolutely loved Sloane, no beating about the bush. What you see is what you get, and I'm so glad Max wanted her. They are perfect for each other.
The book made me laugh... Sloane is blunt and says exactly what she means, no filter!!
Brilliant storyline with wonderful characters and loved the HEA.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series to hopefully get to the bottom of who was after Sage and Sloane....

I had to take a few days to think on this review as I was really conflicted.
I LOVE this series and author but struggled with this book.
All because of the female main character.
I could not connect with or comprehend the female main character.
I can't even explain why without ruining a plot point.
Unfortunately it ruined the whole experience for me, but I'm sure most readers won't have the same issue, I just think too hard and let things fester.
In saying all of this I'm SO excited for the upcoming releases announced at the back of the book.

Sloane is a brilliant scientist, but not so much a people person. Rescued from kidnappers, she's still in dire danger. Former SEAL and current Arrow Security team member Max is tasked with her safety. I struggled with this book. I'm an emotional person, and wear my heart on my sleeve. I found no connection whatsoever with Sloane. I loved Max, and found the story line interesting. With a different MFC, this would have been a 5 star book for me.
