As a psychology major, who is very interested in how psychologists use therapy to help problem solve, this was a fantastic book with plenty of practical and applicable strategies!!
I have already been using the strategies in this book and I have got to say it has helped a lot of my relationships. I couldn’t be more happy and grateful!
It is not an abnormal psychology book if that’s what you’re looking for (that’s what the field that deals with mental disorders is called).
I enjoyed this book. I like Dr. Popcak’s integration of faith into dealing with real people. I think I would have liked more about dealing with non family, but it was good. I especially liked how he emphasized that we should assume good intentions from even people who are difficult. That point made me consider how Christ can find something good in all of us.
A good book about getting along. It certainly uses a lot of examples of marriage, but I wouldn’t call this a marriage book.
It’s discussion on guilt and shame was really helpful. I was needing some help with boundary drawing with loved ones and it certainly helped me out. I would recommend this.
