My Mountain Man Protector is Book 3 of the Wild Heart Mountain: Mountain Heroes series. It's a short and steamy damsel in distress, OTT, instalove, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Kaci is a young, curvy girl with amnesia. Hunter is a hunky, ex-military man turned firefighter. When he is returning with his crew from a fire, they come across an injured Kaci. He recognizes her, but she doesn't remember anything. Why is she here? What is their connection. This story pulled at the heartstrings, but I'm so glad they found each other. They had insane chemistry, and the ending was happy after a bit of angst.

A real nice quick read. Hunter is a former military guy now fireman living in Wild Heart Mountains, while returning from a fire the guys spot a person on the road. Kaci was going to the mountains when the fire hit and her car broke down. She ends up with amnesia and Hunter realizes that she is the sister of one of his former men who was killed. Interesting watching them realizes who they each are!

This was my favorite so far in the series! Hunter carries an enormous amount of guilt being the only survivor of his unit, & Kaci is struggling with her brother’s death & the need for answers. Ones that Hunter can give her.
This was such a great read! It was a little sad & emotional at times when they were talking about her brother, but I really enjoyed it & loved both characters.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Hunter and Kaci met when she is injured and he rescues her. Kaci came to Wild Heart Mountain to find answers to why her twin brother Ben was killed in Afghanistan under Hunter watch. There's a fire on the side of the mountain and Kaci is trapped by the fire. Then Kaci falls down and hits her head on the side of a rock, she's stumbles around. Hunter is out with the fire crew when he notices Kaci and tells them to stop. Hunter jumps out of the fire truck picking up Kaci and carrying her back to the truck. Hunter asks Kaci what her name is but she can't remember. When Hunter looks at Kaci he realizes who she is. Kaci's head hurts so she rest in Hunter's arms. When they arrive at the hospital, it's some place that Kaci doesn't like. Kaci asks Hunter not to leave her so he stays with her. Kaci stays overnight in the Hospital when she is released the next day Hunter takes her to his home. Kaci tries to remember who she is and what she was doing. Hunter and Kaci spend the day playing cards after they have something to eat. Then Hunter takes the couch while Kaci takes his bed. The next day Kaci tries to take care of Hunter's chickens. Kaci asks Hunter about his time in the military and she notices he avoids the topic. Hunter and Kaci snuggle up on the couch to watch a movie, and she finds out she loves the movie they watch. When Kaci falls asleep in Hunter he doesn't want to wake her up. So Hunter carries her to his bed, then she asks him to stay. When Hunter goes to kiss her on the temple she turns and their lips meet. Hunter pulls away and tells Kaci they can't do this. When Hunter realizes Kaci is embarrassed he tells her he's into her, but she's vulnerable and he doesn't want to do this when she can't remember who she is. Hunter promises to kiss her when she gets her memory back. Hunter heads outside to chop some wood, while Kaci sees the plastic bag her clothes were sent home in. Kaci looks at her clothes to see where they're from, then looks in her pockets and find a photo. Kaci realizes in the photo is Hunter, then she sees someone else and when she looks in the mirror the man look just like her. Hunter comes in letting her know he's going to be grilling supper tonight. While they eat Kaci asks Hunter more about his time in the military and he starts to open up without giving her to much information. Kaci looks up at the stars naming a few of them, then realizes she's into astronomy. As Hunter looks at Kaci he tells her he loves her then he asks her to remember this moment with him under the stars. Hunter asks Kaci when she starts to remember he wants her to remember this moment with him under the stars. Hunter stops Kaci when she wants to tell him she loves him back. When Kaci wakes the next morning Hunter tells her they found a car that they think belongs to her. They are going to tow the car into town so that they can find out who the owner is. When Hunter leaves to go outside Kaci wants to write some things down, but she runs out of ink so looks around for another pen. Kaci goes into Hunter's study, when she opens the drawer and finds a pen she sees a letter addressed to him. Kaci picks up the letter because the handwriting looks familiar, when she compares it to her own she realizes she wrote the letter. Soon Kaci starts to remember writing the letter. When she opens it, pulling out the letter and reads it a flood of memories of her and her brother Ben come back to her. Kaci starts to cry she remembers her brother enlisting then her mother getting sick. When Kaci received word that her twin brother Ben was killed in action. When Hunter hears Kaci's cries he runs into the house. Hunter finds her on the floor by the table, he reaches out for her but Kaci tells him not to touch her. Kaci tells him she remembers everything including her name. When Kaci holds out the letter she wrote him Hunter tells her he can explain. Kaci tells him she doesn't want to hear it, Hunter asks her what she remembers. Kaci tells Hunter she remembers all of it. Kaci asks Hunter to take her back to Hope, she needs to get home. They head out in HUnter's truck, and drive in silence. Hunter apologizes to Kaci, but she wants to know why he kept it from her. Hunter tells her she was happy, and as soon as she remembered she would go through the pain of losing her twin brother Ben all over again. Hunter asks Kaci what was she coming to asks him, she tells him she wants to know how her brother died. Hunter pulls over and tells her what happened that day and IED took four of his men and saved him. Hunter has survivors guilt, and came to Wild Heart Mountain trying to hide out. Soon Kaci scoots over the seat and looks up at Hunter. Kaci tells Hunter it's not his fault, he didn't plant the IED, or make any of those soldiers enlist. Kaci tells Hunter she needs some air and slips out of his pickup. Kaci stands on the edge of the road looking over the valley Hunter realizes she's out there along, but she doesn't have to be. Hunter didn't die that day and for three years he felt like he should have perished with his squad. Hunter thinks maybe there's a reason he didn't, and maybe it's standing right in front of him. Kaci stands looking over the valley and says a goodbye to her brother Ben, she can go back home now. Kaci realizes she's all alone, when a door slams. Hunter comes up behind Kaci and tells her she doesn't have to leave. Hunter tells Kaci he loves her, then takes her hand. Hunter tells her all these years he's blamed himself for surviving, but wants to know if there's a reason he survived. Hunter asks Kaci if maybe it's because of her, maybe he survived because he was suppose to met Kaci and look after her. Hunter tells Kaci he wants to take care of her, he wants to spend every day for the rest of his life making her happy, if she'll let him. Kaci tells Hunter she's willing to try, then he kisses her. They sink to the ground kissing, then he pleasures her and they make love. Kaci tells him she loves him, Hunter tells her he loves her. One year later, they head to the grave where all of Hunter's men are buried. Hunter gives Kaci a few minutes alone with her brother. They visit the military cemetery and Ben every month and Kaci tells her brother it's a boy. Kaci will always miss her twin brother Ben, she lost a piece of herself when she lost him. Fate kept Hunter alive that day so that he could find her and they found each other. With Hunter beside Kaci she feels whole again.

An unexpected surprise that he is not giving back

My Mountain Man Protector is the third book in the Wild Heart Mountain: Mountain Heroes series. This story got me in a way I was not expecting, but am delighted it did. Kaci Peterson has been all on her own for several years now, after losing her mother to cancer and her twin brother to an IED oversees while he was serving. She has not been able to move past the lose of her brother and is still not completely sure he is actually dead, as she keeps expecting him to walk in the door with his smile and laugh. She needs to know what actually happened, as she is not able to find out from the Army. So she writes to his team leader. But when he does not reply she takes a couple of days and drives to where he lives in the mountains of Wild Heart Mountain. Hunter Adams is part of the Wild Heart Mountain Fire Department. When he was discharged from the Army he came back home, built a cabin on the mountain and joined the fire department. He has tried to bury the memory of what happened overseas so when a letter arrives from one of his men who was killed he is unprepared. But what happens when she wanders out of the forest and his team finds her after they fight a small fire blows his whole world apart. For Kaci though she ends up with amnesia and her whole world is about to be redefined in ways that will be both good and bad, but in the end there will be a future that neither was expecting.

Hunter and Kaci. Hes ex military now firefighter in Wild Heart. Shes been alone for a while now her mom sucumbed to cancer and her twin brother was killed by an IED. Hunter happened to serve with her brother and she needs closure since the Army wont tell her and when Hunter doesnt write back she goes to Wild Heart. She pulls off the road to pee and then her car doesnt start. Dead battery. So she gets her backpack and starts to walk then she sees it, the flames and smoke and no phone service and so she starts to jog down the mountain road. As shes running she can feel the flames and the smoke is making her eyes water and she doesnt know if shes running away or toward the fire. While running she trips on a tree branch and just as she blacks out she thinks Im coming Ben. The fire truck is heading back to the station the fire contained and thats when he sees her walking along side the road and theres red on the side of her head. He walks up to her and its like looking at a ghost he knows who she is but she doesnt know who she is and says I think I fell and faints. They head toward the medical center. Loved this story how he wants her to fall in love with him and forgive him for keeping secrets.

Kaci needs answers. Poor Kaci lost her twin brother, Ben, in an IED accident while in the military. That incident killed everyone but the leader, Sergeant Hunter Adam’s. Kaci wrote a letter to him wanting the details of her brother’s death. Kaci goes out to see Hunter and to get some answers. Somehow, she runs right into a fire and she ends up running and leaves her non working car there. Along the way, she loses her backpack and her phone. While running, she trips and falls unconscious.
After putting out the fire, Hunter sees a person walking on the road. He gets to her and immediately recognizes her as Ben’s sister. Kaci, doesn’t recognize anything. The fire team get her to the hospital ably to find out that she has amnesia! Hunter does not want to tell her the truth because he has loved her so nice seeing her picture. Hunter takes in Kaci because she has no one. Hunter decides not to tell Kaci about her and her brother. Both are drawn to each other but Hunter holds back. Hunter decides to keep her information a secret, but will that be the right thing to do?.

This is book number 3 of the Wild Heart Mountain: Mountain Heroes series and focuses on Hunter and Kaci. Kaci is deep in grief after losing her twin and not having been told much of anything. Kaci ends up in town searching for answers about her twin brother’s, Ben, death after he died while serving in the military overseas. The only person who survived from her brother's unit was their leader, which happened to be Hunter. Hunter has been struggling with the unimaginable survivor's guilt since his entire unit besides him was killed in action. After leaving the military, he moved and became a firefighter. This is how he comes across Kaci but she has no clue who she is or why she is in town. It doesn’t take Hunter long to figure out who she is and why she is town but he is worried that she will hate him once she realizes who he is. I loved everything about this story! The way they both helped heal each other’s broken parts left behind after Ben died and moved towards healing together. They were perfect for each other! This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Kaci (h) is rescued by firefighter Hunter (H) after she’s found injured and disoriented on a mountain. With no memory of who she is or why she's there, Kaci relies on Hunter as he cares for her in the hospital and then offers her a place to stay. As they spend time together at his cabin, their connection grows, though Hunter is wary of getting too close because of his own dark past that crosses with hers. Hunter struggles with the guilt of the secret he's keeping from Kaci, knowing it could shatter their growing relationship. Meanwhile, Kaci's memory starts to return in fragments, overwhelming her with the profound sense of loss she'd briefly managed to forget. Her relationship with Hunter becomes complicated as she starts to piece together the events leading up to her amnesia and she'll have to decide if their relationship can continue and if she can offer him the solace he needs. Hot and steamy age gap, instalove, curvy girl, ex-military hero, romance with lots of emotions, turmoil, and angst.

Well written with angst, drama and steamy romance

This was an emotional read that covers loss, survivor guilt, amnesia and love. Hunter rescues Kaci, the twin of one his deceased military squad, only to find she has amnesia. He's been in love with her photo since he first saw it and knew she was only in the area to see him....which would bring about the loss of her brother as a fresh wound, instead of the three yr one it was. Kaci has such a strong attraction to the man helping her but when she remembers her past, she's traumatized by more than the loss of her brother. What follows is such a heart-wrenching conversation that you can't help but bleed for both of them. Thankfully, they get their well deserved HEA but it sure was a rough journey. I definitely recommend this romance for anyone looking for a deeper connection to the characters as they struggle to find a future worth living in. Well done!

Kaci Peterson is our beautiful and innocent amnesia victim. And she doesn’t understand why she was on the road in the mountains. And why she had such a feeling of loss, misplacement and sadness?
Hunter Adams is our MMC and is Ex-military and a firefighter at Wild Heart Mountain Fire Department.
And he knew who Kaci was and answers to all her questions. But chooses to have a little time with her before she remembers and hates him.
This is a shorter read book. It’s packed full of sweetness, age gap insta love, the right amount of spiciness and a haunting story. It’s emotionally packed, dealing with survivor guilt.
I highly recommend it for sure! It’s an original story, yet impacts many of our military families to this day.
So jump in and follow Kaci and Hunter in their search for redemption and love.🥰👍🏻🥰👍🏻

This book was amazingly sweet; Hunter and his squad of firefighters rescued a young woman walking about, dazed, on the side of the road following a forest fire and it seems like, out of the two of them, he may be the only person to know who she is. But, whether she hates him later or not, he’s not letting the chance to be with her, for even a few days, stop him from being with her and loving her.

I rarely read amnesia romances, they’re just not my thing, and I probably wouldn’t have read this one if it had been written by pretty much anyone else but I didn’t even read the blurb, I saw the name, Sadie King, and grabbed it. Whether or not you might care for that type of thing, I think you’ll enjoy this one; Hunter is a sweetheart and Kaci is just lonely and needing someone to be there. 5 stars!.

Hunter Adams is a fire fighter in the mountains. His into just contained a fire. On the way back to base there is a woman walking and they stop. He recognizes her but she doesn't seem to reciprocate.
Kaci, was on her way to the mountains to find someone but got stuck when her car died. She started walking and then running to get away from the fire. She trips and falls and hits her head on a tree.
Hunter stays with her while she is in the hospital. He knows her as the little sister of a former military buddy. He's been getting letters from her which he hasn't opened. Will she get her memory back? Will his reluctance to reach out to her come back on him?
A lovely short story to read.

Kaci was on a mission to find out what happened to her brother, and while fleeing a wildfire, fell and banged her head and lost her memory. Hunter happens to be on the fire crew that finds her walking along the road, and he recognizes her as the sister of one of the soldiers in his troop while he was in Afghanistan. Both Hunter and Kaci have wounds from the past that won't heal; can they heal them together? As they grow closer together, will that all blow up in smoke when she gets her memory back? This was a great story, moved fast, but kept me glued to the pages until the end wondering what was going to happen next!.

I loved My Mountain Man Protector: An Ex-military Mountain Man and Curvy Girl Romance Book 3 of Wild Heart Mountain: Mountain Heroes. Kaci was hurt trying to get away from the fire, she wakes with amnesia. Hunter found her and knew exactly who she was, his dead friend’s sister. He doesn’t tell her, knowing it could end their relationship before it gets started. She doesn’t know why she’s there, where she belongs or who is missing her but she knows she wants to stay with Hunter forever. I loved the storyline and the characters. Sometimes when your healing you need someone with you. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

This was a great new book from Sadie King!

I loved the other books in the Wild Heart Mountain Man Heroes series and I think this is my new favorite.

I loved Kaci and Hunter so much, they were great characters and they are such a great couple I thought they fit so well together and compliment each other perfectly.

This is an amnesia story where Kaci loses her memory and Hunter takes up the role of being her protector while trying to have her fall in love with him before she regains her memory at the same time.

I thought this was a fantastic new book and I highly recommend giving this book a read for sure and checking out Hunter and Kaci.

10/10.

This is book 3 in the Wild Heart Mountain: Mountain Heroes series. All the books can be read as a stand alone. I really enjoy this series. I'm a fan of Sadie King but I always enjoy her military and MC series. Her characters touches every emotion. Kaci and Hunter are great characters. The whole story was beautiful and heart wrenching. Hunter is dealing with survival guilt while Kaci was dealing with grief. Kaci gets amnesia in beginning of story but as the story progresses we find out more about her losses and how it turns into Hunter. Good addition to the series.

I enjoyed this book. It dealt with real issues in a real way, and the characters reaction were natural and honest. Many military veterans return from service with immense guilt, particularly leaders who lost those under their command. This book gives readers a window into what life is like once they return home. Of course, the family who lost a member has their share of suffering too. Is it possible these two worlds were ever meant to meet?

I not only enjoyed reading this book, but appreciate and applaud King's addressing such a worthy and sensitive issue. I am greatful for receiving a gift copy and volunteered my review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

This book is for you if you want a sweet and steamy romance. Kaci is on her way to see Hunter, who was the officer over the unit her twin brother, Ben, was in when he was killed in action. Before she arrives, her car breaks down, and a forest fire traps her. She is injured and meets Hunter's fire crew as they are returning to base. I loved this plot. It grabbed my heart, and I was sucked into the story. Hunter had survivor's guilt, and Kaci was grieving the loss of her brother. It's a remarkable story, and they get a perfect HEA!

My Mountain Man Protector is a heartfelt, touching novella with a wrenching backstory and gorgeous characters. Kaci spends much of the story with amnesia, and her journey to rediscovering herself is assisted by military veteran turned firefighter Hunter. The chemistry and connection between the two is beautifully built. Author Sadie King has a fabulous way of dropping readers into a rich and complex world right from page 1. This novella is no exception, and I love how she brings these two together and allows them to find themselves and each other. Such a fabulous and lovely, realistic read.

Hunter and Kasi’s story has them coming together when she write him a letter asking about her twin bro, Ben’s, military death. She decides to go to his place but along the way there is a fire and she loses her things and hits her head. She’s found walking along the road with no memory. Hunter takes care of her and they grow closer but she starts remembering will they get their hea or will her memory break them up.

Finding an injured woman wandering on the back roads, after a fire, is the last thing the drew expected. Dazed and disoriented, she is alone and needs medical help.
She may have short term amnesia, but Hunter certainly knows who she is, and he needs to find out why she is there. Feelings of guilt and loss are on both sides, but whilst they may each have an attraction to the other, it can't happen until Kaci recovers..then things may no longer be calm and contentment could be short lived.
