I hate how these books suck me in because I’m angry reading but also love the drama. It’s the biggest miscommunication trope ever and I hate it but I also love it and dare I say, I think they’re getting better.
Again with the miscommunication. This whole series is based on the main characters not talking at all and then holding another hostage. This time he used her kid against her!!!
But again, I’m sucked in by the drama. I feel like the series is getting better but I might also stop.

There was not one likable character in this entire book.
Then to top it off it’s supposed to be a “miscommunication trope” book. It’s not really a miscommunication, it’s the author contradicting everything she’s previously said to cause drama.
Great example: the female mc brings up his sex life being none of her business when they get married since it’s not real. He says “Im not a cheat, especially not on my wife. I have no plans on fucking anybody but you for the rest of my life”
Then a few chapters later she decides he’s cheating on her and when he talks about it to his friends they ask him why she’d think that and he goes off about how they’ve never had a fidelity conversation so she doesn’t know he’s only committed to her even though their marriage is fake.
Like… yes she did? This shouldn’t have been a thing. It was the author trying to force a miscommunication by contradicting other events and this happened multiple other times, same type of situations. “Well you never told me this” - yes it was literally a topic chapters ago.

Po chorobie wracam do was z książkami, które mnie urzekły lub mi się podobały. „Ultimatum” należy do tej drugiej kategorii. I jeśli mam być szczera to był to lepszy tom od poprzedniego czyli pierwszego. Jakoś bardziej mnie wciągnął i dał mi smaczka na być może dalsze części.

L. Knight pisze takie przyjemne historie, nie są to jednak książki takie, które wychwala się ponad wszystko. Z kolei bardziej bym stwierdziła, że są takie na jeden wieczór, nie są ciężkie a bardziej lekkie.
„Ultimatum” jest to dosłownie kontynuacja zakończenia z pierwszego tomu. Całkowicie inna historia z innymi bohaterami i różnymi zmaganiami.
Pojawia się tutaj dziecko, które połączy bohaterów na nowo. Nie ma jakoś dużo wzmianek o samym brzdącu więc nie przeszkadza aż tak. Z kolei tutaj głównie się skupiamy na przeszłości bohaterów i ich problemach rodzinnych, z którymi muszą się mierzyć w dorosłym życiu. I to właśnie bardziej mi się podoba od pierwszego tomu. Jest mniej scen erotycznych, a więcej prawdziwego życia. Jeśli czytaliście pierwszy tom to zachęcam do drugiego. Jest totalnie różny od poprzednika i to na duży plus.

I have to say, I love this series and cannot wait to read about the rest of the group of friends and their lives. I'm usually the female character's cheerleader, but there was just something about Harrison that endeared him to me. I actually preferred him to Norrie. He has been working through his own demons, but stepped up when it was needed. He was also a jerk at times, and it was looking like he wasn't going to get his head out of his ass at one stage, but like the man that he is, he knew what needed to be done and how to get it done. Even though I wasn't team Norrie, she managed to carve a way into my heart, with her love for her son, her brother and for Harrison. She put in all the hard work, and it paid off in the long run. Seeing her being accepted into the group of friends and finding her own way was great. I cannot wait for the rest of this series!!!

I cannot get over these sexy billionaire grumps! Harrison is the ultimate grump but due to family things he has his reasons. Then Nora flows on in and after a magical week together is where it all begins!
Nora is the the sweetheart next door who fell for the grump when he came to stay at her lodges. After a wild week they part ways never to see eachother until an accident barrels them back into each others life.
With a new child and a his own ways on dealing with things the story between these two is full of passion, angst and a lot of wanting to punch Harrison square in the face !
Yet again this series has me hooked and I can’t get enough of these Kings ! And Kings Of Ruin they are indeed but you will fall in love with these morally grey men !

Abso-fucking-lutely not
Harrison is hot garbage and did not deserve Nora from start to finish. IDGAF what his trauma back story is with his mama. Boo friggidy hoo. Manipulative, controlling, toxically jealous and evil. What kind of dude threatens to take custody of his child away from its mother in order to force her to marry him? And for fcking what? They did not have to be married to co-parent and if for some reason marriage was necessary or unavoidable, they didn’t need a wedding. Nora was a weak character who gave in to his every unreasonable demand and sacrificed her every emotional need to cater to this ungrateful prick who gets what he wants in the end anyway. I mean this dude just decides he’s gonna put another baby in there while unwilling to give Nora the love and respect she deserves without even discussing it. She just hops into bed with him because they have good sex? Hell no. I hated this and kept hoping she’d grow a spine at some point and it never happened. Ugh.

I saw this on Booktok and gave it a try.... This is OK. I kept going hoping it will get better. The pace was off and the general plot just does not make sense... Skip this one if you have a long TBR

Harrison Brooks nigdy nie marnuje czasu wolnego na relaks. Nie jest więc zadowolony, przymusowym urlopem. Nieoczekiwanie spędza cudowny czas z Norą Richards, właścicielką ośrodka, w którym się zatrzymuje. Oboje dają się ponieść niezobowiązującej przygodzie. Rok później Harrison odbiera telefon ze szpitala. Nora miała wypadek, jej życie jest zagrożone. Został on wyznaczony jako osoba pierwszego kontaktu, a teraz musi się zająć synem, o którego istnieniu nie wiedział. Harrison szantażuje kobietę i wymusza na niej ślub. Kobieta może stracić prawa rodzicielskie, jeśli się nie przystanie na to ultimatum.
Po ciekawym drugim tomie spodziewałam się tendencji spadkowej. Jednak nic bardziej mylnego, książka zdecydowanie była na wyższym poziomie! Akcja trwa od pierwszych stron, zaintrygowała mnie od początku. Świetny zarys przeszłości i przykre przejście do teraźniejszości. Fabuła była ogromnie ciekawa. Silny męski bohater, który zawsze stawia na swoim. Jednak ogromnie podobało mi się postawa obojga rodziców. Wszystkie decyzje, zostały podjęte przez pryzmat dobra dziecka. Bardzo podobało mi się narastające napięcie między bohaterami. Sceny łóżkowe były bardzo pikantne i komfortowe w odbiorze.
Plot twist był bardzo przewidywalny, jednak nie traktuje tego jako minus. Bardzo podobało mi się to, że oprócz dziecka, połączyło ich piękne uczucie. To nie była zwykła relacja, która trwała na siłę, przez wzgląd na wspólne dziecko. Mimo że Harrison jest ciężkim zawodnikiem, zawsze odnosił się z szacunkiem do Nory. Wątek drugiej szansy został bardzo umiejętnie napisany.
Podczas lektury, bawiłam się wyśmienicie. To bardzo dobry romans z idealnym wyczuciem. Nie mogę doczekać się kolejnych tomów tej serii. Jeśli szukacie czegoś pikantniejszego, to idealna pozycja. Polecam ❤️

Myślę, że 4 gwiazdki to dobra dla mnie ocena, bo Harrison i Norrie bardzo do mnie przemówili, każdy z nich miał problemy, nad którymi później zaczęli pracować (szkoda, że po fakcie, a nie w trakcie)
Podobało mi się to, że to nie był tylko smut, a też ich poczynania i problemy rodzinne tej dwójki bohaterów.
Nie popieram tego, że Harrison zmusił ją do małżeństwa przez wzgląd na syna, ale on się nią zaopiekował pomimo tego. Bo od pierwszych chwil pokochał swojego syna i dało mu to inny wygląd tego jak on się czuje względem syna, a ci dostał w zamian od swoich bohaterów.
Norrie może i też nie była świętą, ale ona przeszła przez tyle samo złych wydarzeń w swoim życiu przez poznaniem Harrisona, co on sam. I to, że go wpisała jako osobę pierwszego kontaktu, świadczy o tym, że pomyślała o nim i ich synu.

This book is so amazing! I still have tears in my eyes from all of the emotions flying through me while I read this one. I truly wanted to hit Harrison over the head with a cast iron skillet repeatedly! He has mommy issues. Nora is sweet but girl stand up for yourself. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and there is lots of steam. This is not a smooth sailing love story lol. More like a train wreck but I loved every second. The girl gang is awesome and the group of friends is there with their loving sarcastic advice. You will not want to miss this one. You will need tissues and whiskey. Lots of whiskey.

So, this group of friends are really starting to grow on me!
Following on from The Auction we now get the story of Harrison and Norrie.
Its hard to not give away any spoilers so let’s just say its all go from the moment they met.
Norrie has her demons which stop her from being as honest as she should have been with Harrison but then this comes crashing down and Harrison has to step up. His own fears then stop the two of them from realizing the love they could and should have.
This is an exquisitely written book and shows beautifully the POV of each character. I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want to put it down!
The story of the rest of the friends is starting to unfold in the background making you want to know who’s turn is it next.
Sooooo looking forward to the rest of the series and to see if L.Knight can keep up such a fabulous start that she has created in the first two books

WOW! Just WOW! L. Knight, with your talented writing, you certainly had my emotions go absolutely crazy! I’ve wanted to shake some sense into both Norrie and Harrison, and wanted to SMACK Harrison so many times! Their story is an emotional roller coaster; have Kleenex ready! And the chemistry between Harrison and Norrie is sooooo HOT and off the charts! L. Knight, you absolutely did it again, and I cannot wait until the next segment in Kings of Ruin! This book is way beyond five stars!

Total five star. This had me hooked from the start. I absolutely loved the characters although you might want to slap Harry! But that's what makes a good alpha a$$hole. The author is a fantastic writer and I look forward to more of her work.

I love this series! A very good read. Harrison and Norrie’s story is amazing. Expect an emotional rollercoaster, LOTS of steam an amazing heroine and a book boyfriend that you might love to hate and hate to love.

Loving this friend group
I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know all the members of this friend group. Harrisson really annoyed me at times in this story and the trauma from his past that constantly push Norrie away broke my heart. I can't wait for the next one.

I read this one back to back after reading The Auction and I loved the way it flowed from one story to the next.
Harrison week vacation turns out to have an unexpected surprise a year later. I truly enjoyed the instant love he had for his new son and the way he cared for Nora. Although he should have been angry for missing out on an important part of his life; his love for both prevailed.
This story is full of suspense, steamy scenes, and heart warming moments that keep you captivated from the beginning to end.
I cant wait for the next book!
