5 years ago Reagan and Grayson were happy, until Grayson left town on his motorcycle and Reagan with a positive pregnancy test. Now he’s back and things will never be the same.
Reagan:
There’s no way. There’s no ‘effing way.
There’s no way I was stupid enough to get pregnant by the same man, twice.
The man who left town before I had the chance to tell him.
Now he’s back, getting to know the daughter he didn’t know about.
He’s sworn he’ll never forgive me for keeping her from him all these years, so what the hell do I do now?
Grayson:
I swore I’d never return, especially after the way I broke Reagans heart.
But when the dad I never knew dies unexpectedly and leaves me a house and a letter, everything changes.
I thought all this time she’d hate me, but now everything’s changed.
I’ll never forgive her for all the years I lost because of her.
Can they learn to forgive each other? Or will they fake it, only for the baby?

♡ Tropes: • Second chance • Friends-to-enemies-to-lovers • Secret baby • Accidental pregancy • Hate sex • Single mother • Dual POV
♡ I ate this book sooo fast! A literal page-turner! I don't usually read secret pregnancy and accidental ones, but this book made me rethink my opinion on both of these tropes. I really enjoyed reading Gray and Rae's story as well as Leanne's. I think it was my first secret pregnancy book, at least the only one I liked. The little thing that bugued me was how fast-paced the story was. I don't know, they took not even a day to reconnect, then Grey hated Ray but soon after they were together again. Besides of that like thing, I loved reading this book. I would have love too to have more glimpses of their past, but it wasn't really necessary in order to like this book.
♡ Overall, it was a pretty surprising read as I didn't except to like it that much considering the tropes but, now, I think it changed totally my vision on secret and accidental pregnacy. And the bonus epilogue?!?! They were so cute together! I really need to read the whole series now! I NEED to know everything about everyone!
♡ I would like to thank Shannon for sending me an ARC of her super book ♡
Shannon O'Connor's latest novel is an absolute delight to read and truly deserves a 5-star rating! As a first-time reader of her work, I was immediately captivated by the story's many themes, including second chances, enemies to lovers, secret babies, and single mothers.
The plot centers around Grayson, who left town five years ago but has now returned after inheriting his father's house. Little does he know that Reagan, a single mom, is raising his daughter without his knowledge. The tension between the two is palpable, with Reagan trying to avoid Grayson's notice.
However, when they finally come face-to-face, their chemistry is undeniable. Despite Reagan's initial hostility towards Grayson, it's clear that the two still have feelings for each other. The story takes an unexpected turn when Grayson discovers he has a daughter, leading to a rollercoaster of emotions and unpredictable twists and turns. Without giving too much away, let me just say that this story is an absolute page-turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
Overall, this is a beautifully written novel that expertly weaves together multiple themes and storylines to create a truly unforgettable reading experience. If you're a fan of romance novels, this is a must-read that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside!
In the beginning for a good bit, I was on the fence with the book and wasn't sure I liked the mfc. I struggle with secret baby trope books where the mfc chooses not to say anything, especially when there's a reconnection and they feel the guy is good enough to mess around with and date, but not know the truth, especially when they never had a good enough reason to be honest from the start. Her bad/selfish decisions seemed to be more about her own feelings which irked me. But I feel like she mainly redeemed herself and I liked the relationship they began to build after everything was out on the table. Leanne was super cute and wicked smart for her age, I didn't expect her to bring up the things she did, most books write kids her age as slightly perceptive but clueless to the problems and big feelings the adults are dealing with. Overall, I liked the direction the book ended up with and it was a good read, I would have liked a bit more info/ pov flashbacks on their relationship as teens, and maybe atleast their pov when the mmc decided to leave and end their relationship. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
I must admit that when I first started the book, I wasn't sure if I was going to read to the end. However, as the story continued, I was caught up and wanted to see what would happen between Grayson and Reagan, the main characters. High school sweethearts and fellow rebels, they are drawn to each other after being apart for 6 years. Grayson left town without saying goodbye and Reagan hates him for doing that. She tries to use her hate to protect her heart but the attraction and chemistry is pulling at them. Grayson and Reagan are not the usual kind of main characters encountered in the books I read, but I did like how S O'Connor writes a strong female character and a solid story about taking the risks needed to connect again with someone you love. Only for the Baby is a second chance trope with not so comfortable twists and turns. It kept me intrigued because I couldn't guess where the story was going next. I am glad that I took a chance on Only for the Baby by S O'Connor. I received an advanced readers copy and am voluntarily leaving a review based solely on my reading experience.
Sometimes when you see a certain trope you might decide the book isn’t for you. I recommend tossing that ideas out the window with this book. I did and am extremely happy I did. I’ll be honest, a secret baby, accidental pregnancy, and single parents aren’t always on the top of my list or even in the middle when picking out a book. But I have read other books by S.O. and in the Only In Seaside series and was curious on what Reagan’s story would bring. And I was not disappointed.
The second chance paired with Reagan’s “hatred” to Grayson and his cocky flirtation only lead to witty banter and spicy tension. And being a small town you know they are going to keep running into each other, making situations comical. When the flirty fun stops and their daughter is involved they do a beautiful job of putting their differences aside to become a coparenting unit. Will they continue to just coparent for their daughter and for the baby? Or will they take a shot at love?
This was another great read by Shannon O’Connor! Second chances, enemies to lovers, secret baby and single mom tropes! Grayson left town 5 years ago but is back after his dad left him his house. Reagan is raising his daughter which he has no idea about. All look so, she owns her own tattoo shop. She sees him, but tries to make it so he doesn’t see her. When they finally run into each other again, it’s like no time has past. Their chemistry while Reagan claims to dislike him, is still there. Without giving too much more away, wait til you see what happens when Grayson finds out about his daughter? What emotions will he go through? How will his relationship with Reagan go? Is it possible for these two to be together in the end? That’s not all, another little surprise pops up in their life. What could this be and how will Reagan and Grayson feel about it? You won’t want to miss a moment of this story. It is a page turner and will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This is a fabulous series and I have loved spending time in Seaside once again. Raegan and Grayson are so wonderful together despite their falling out over Grayson leaving Seaside five years earlier but he is very hurt and disappointed in Raegan for keeping a very big secret from. Overtime he learns to forgive Raegan for keeping his daughter Leanne a secret and they build a future together but not before them going through some tough times and learning to trust each other again. Leanne was so cute and a little pocket rocket. She made me laugh and cry. This was a fun, quick read that I enjoyed very much but it is the characters and their story which really made the book and had me glued to my seat. I have loved this series by Ms O’Connor and am looking forward to reading much more. Loved it!!!
I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This book is chock full of angst! I love the strong, single mother/business owner vibes from Raegan showing off a strong, independent woman. Along with a beautiful, tattooed woman, this book includes the tropes of a secret baby, an accidental pregnancy and a bit of second chance romance before it turns to an enemies to lovers story.
The angst is so high is this book. My hands were sweaty as Raegan and Grayson work on what Raegan’s first and second bombshells mean to them and as Raegan works through Grayson disappearance from years ago. There’s a lot of hurt to unpack in this story, not only from the main characters, but the supporting characters also have big feelings to work through in regards to Raegan and Grayson, making the book feel authentic.
Tropes: Small Town Romance, Second Chance, Secret kid/surprise pregnancy, Hate to Love
This was a nice little quick read. Reagan is clearly an amazing mother and you can see how she ever only puts Leanne first and foremost. Greyson seems like a decent man until he finds out the truth. I get why he was so mad and upset, but he was a complete dick and it hurt my heart for Reagan. I was honestly cautious with Reagan how he would react to her news of the pregnancy. He in turn did make up for his douchebag ways (although still not fully forgiven for that stunt he pulled with the realtor; that was shady as fuck). Definitely ends in a HEA.
Spice Level : 🌶🌶 There is some spicy scenes that were delivered very nicely but if you don't like sex scenes, skip them or this book.
Secret Baby Single Mom Second chance Friends to enemies to lovers Accidental pregnancy
Only For the Baby is the third book in the Only in Seaside Series.
This was a cute quick read. I enjoyed their family dynamic and the growth and character development. It was however a bit faced paced. I did however love that they were able to work through their issues together and not let others sway their decisions. I also loved the way that Gray took care of Rae even while he was still upset at her. And loved that bonus epilogue.
“I love you. I think I always have and I always will, Rae. I don’t know how to love anyone else and I never want to.”
I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.
If your in need of a cute short read with lots of angst and a strong female lead then this book is for you!
Reagan and Grayson definitely have a rocky relationship. They go through so much, but I am so glad that they were able to find their happy endings!
There are so many things about this book that I absolutely love! I loved Greyson and Leanna’s relationship! They are so cute together. I definitely wish there was some more scenes with just them, but I love the book and how it ended was perfect!!!

I absolutely love Shan's writing but I will acknowledge this wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I adore Reagan and I'm very glad I got to read her story but something about Grayson didn't quite sit right with me. He was definitely better in the second half of the book but for awhile he was very Straight Cis Man in a way that made me a bit uncomfortable. There were a couple other small details that bothered me BUT other than that the spice was great and I'm always grateful for the chance to read Shan's books and spread my love for them. I'm always excited to read whatever comes next!
Grayson left town 5 years ago. Leaving in his wake Rae and his baby, Leanne. Because Rae never told him about Leanne he never knew. So when he comes back to town after 5 years of finding himself and making some of himself he runs into Reagan. Who is scared of the ramifications of her lie of omission. The two reconnect in all the right ways. Will Grayson live forever in the dark about him and Rae’s little one when he leaves? Or will she finally break down and tell him the truth? Read this spicy book to laugh, cry, scream and pant.
I LOVED this second chance/secret baby romance! Raegan automatically sparks my interest, okay, maybe a little obsession with her. She does not let Grayson get away with anything. The banter and spicy moments kept me completely captivated in the book, and I could not put it down until I finished it. It also grabbed my heart how they had their personal differences, but still managed to work for their daughter, and how willing Grayson was to make compromises just to be in her life. This book tugged at my heart strings, as well as some semxy strings the whole time. Amazing read!
*ARC REVIEW* I knew I would enjoy this just as I did the others. It was much better than I expected it to be, I like how they grew together, got closer. I enjoyed how the main character had tattoos and even had a shop, she was also a good mom. I like how he stepped up as a father so quick and loved it, the way he was with his daughter. It was a great read all the way through, every book I've read so far has been great and I'm excited for the next one!

This enemies to lovers, second chance, small town romance. Grayson and Reagan were young and he left town leaving her broken hearted and pregnant. Years later he is back having no idea what exactly he left behind five years ago. Leanna was so cute and smart. The one thing that I felt off was the letter and pic from his father and Gray wanted to put all the blame on her but he did leave town. Anyway I still enjoyed the story.
Only for the baby was full on epic story between enemies going to lovers, I love the book, it was epic and funny and full on with surprises. Both main characters had great chemistry and lovely world building. Shannon has become one of my favorite author and I can't wait more from her.
Grayson and Reagan's story is wonderful, heartbreaking, sad, and bittersweet. I fell in love with both of them so easily! This is a book you will not want to put down until you finish it! I found myself rooting for them and at times wanting to yell at them! Great characters and a wonderful and heartbreaking storyline definitely makes for a must read!
If you like second chance romances I thought this book was great. It was a shorter read but I didn't feel like the story left anything out and flowed along well. The characters were great and were relatable. This is the first book I have read by Shannon and I will definitely be reading more in the future.
Love, love, loved this book. Reagan has so much to through. Raising an amazing daughter on her own and thinking she will never see her true love again. Then Grayson comes riding back into their lives. Turns out he is a soft hearted, amazing guy. Devoured this read. Enjoy
I thought this book was very cute and sweet. I'm a sucker for love, so I, of course, loved the fact that they both got their HEA. The smut scenes were good, and Grayson definitely sounds hot as h*ll! I only wish it had more smut, but maybe that's just my desires showing! 😂😂😂
This is a good story, full of ups and downs between the characters, each trying to do what's best. But sometimes emotions take over and control is lost. Sometimes control is the center of the story.
Only For the Baby is a moderately steamy story about single mom, Reagan, doing all she can to care for her daughter Leanne. When her ex Grayson comes back to town, she finds herself stuck between being angry, excited, and completely terrified. Will Reagan get the chance to come clean, or will everything she dreamed of and was trying to build come crumbling down?
I was surprised that I enjoyed this story so much. I tend to be hesitant when reading books involving kids in any capacity but Only For the Baby was well thought out and written. It was nice to get to know Regan and Leanne a bit more. I felt the anger that Grayson was carrying roll off the pages and felt for him and Reagan both. I thought it was incredible how quickly he took to everything as if no time had passed.
I am enjoying this series overall and look forward to continuing it.
