This supplement to tenth edition’s Codex: Space Marines contains the lore for the Dark Angels the Combat Patrol and Crusade rules for the Chapter, as well as their Chapter specific Detachments and Datasheets.

As with the Codices that have been released so far, much of the lore in this supplement is repeated from the one from last season, although often updated for recent events. The largest section of new lore in the background section of the book deals with the return of Lion El’Jonson and this is probably the most interesting part, although I would have liked to see some information on how a few more of the Chapter’s Successors reacted to their Primarch’s return.

While I don’t think the book includes many (if any) new pieces of artwork, all the pieces that are included are great and include pictures from many periods. The Showcase section is as good as such sections usually, even including some pictures of my favourite Dark Angels Successor Chapter, the Guardians of the Covenant.

The rules section is pretty standard for this edition, simplified, and less characterful and varied, compared to previous editions. The chapter specific Crusade rules for the Dark Angels are a trio of Chapter specific Oathswarn Campaigns revolving around the Fallen, some Dark Angel themed ranks for characters to purchase, and the usual Battle Traits, Crusade Relics and the like and they do seem relatively interesting.
