The Dragon Overlords #4

Fated for his Flame

Rate this book
She was who I needed. Even if I didn’t know it.

As heir to one of the powerful dragon houses, my father expects my mate to be a proper ‘match’ for my position. He’s spent years parading those he approves past me.

I hated them all. No woman was right for me. Until our ruler tricked me into taking a human for a mate.

My dragon has never been so alive. So obsessed. From the moment I laid my eyes on Chloe, I knew that I had to have her. To make her mine.

Unfortunately, the most recent of my rejected ‘proper’ mates is also the youngest daughter of a rival house. Taking a human mate so soon after turning her down in public has them up in arms over the perceived insult. They demand I give up the one thing I won't compromise

Chloe.

But all this might not matter, because she hasn’t told me everything. And her true reason for coming to the Dragon Isles could threaten all dragonkind…

Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.

Fated for his Flame is book four in the series The Dragon Overlords. The series follows a war where many lives are lost humans and dragons. now as a peace treaty, humans must provide women to find their fated mates with the dragons. They are supposed to be volunteers but the human government use less-than-savory threats to make them comply.
The story is interesting and a bit cute as humans and dragons navigate their way through relationships neither are sure about.

Love, loyalty and dragons

I loved this dragon-human, fake relationship romance with a side of political machinations. The story sucked me right in and it was hard to put down. The story included the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, painful pasts, cultural/species differences, intrigue, danger, loyalty, and spice. Silas is a dragon from a wealthy and politically connected family. He desires a true mate not a politically arranged match. He fought in the dragon and human war. When a ceasefire is negotiated, the terms included the requirement of eight human women yearly to serve as dragon mates. Chloe is a human spy whose mission is to become a dragon mate and get the information about the secret location of the dragons back to the government. She is prepared for a fake relationship for the mission but then things become complicated when feelings get involved. In addition, not all dragons are happy to have humans amongst them. There is a lot against a successful forever relationship between Chloe and Silas including Silas’ own family. To get to their HEA, they’ll need to be honest and to learn to trust each other while trying to unpack their own baggage and wade through the politics and backstabbing of dragon society. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, great world building, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. My only negative issue with this book was the number of typos which is not usually the case with this author. So I’m going to chalk it up to a one time anomaly and not change my rating. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

So so Good !

Connecting with the characters hearts 💕 in this series has been so fun and real to me. Silas is protective and loving and one thing I love about the whole series ' story line is how the hero's dragon 🐲 connects around their true love, and it feels so real coming through the story that a dragon can fall in love with a human. In this story I feel like Silas is ready for a mate if it's the right one, and The Sovereign tells him to show up at the palace for a meeting unbeknownst it's the 8 human women meeting and choosing- where it was neat Ajax hero from the first book is there for the choosing meeting and tells Silas what exact type of meeting he's at.
Chloe's job is a spy and she's always been good at it, but she loves Silas. She likes Silas' brother Caleb and mate Shi. She respects the Sovereign. More than anything, she would die inside if she caused any harm to Silas.

Silas has to choose a woman from eight humans. None of them will be his mate, or will she really be one of these humans. Chloe has been sent to the dragon territory as part of an undercover investigation by the CIA. To find out where the dragons live so they can be neutralised if the ceasefire fails. Oh boy, this is going to be good.

A fast paced read full of family drama, danger, betrayal and discovering true love. Silas and Cloe's story grabbed hold of me and refused to let go until the end. I couldn't put it down. Ok shifter story

Dragon shifters are one of my favorites, but this series leaves a lot
unsaid. Personally I would like more plot and less sex every other page. I hope all characters from each book will all be together at some point. They all live in the same place. The concept is new and I enjoyed that.

Brilliant Series

Fated for his Flame (The Dragon Overlords Book 4) by Riley Storm. Silas is tricked by the dragon Queen into being one of the eight dragons to pick a human for a mate. This has incensed a rival family as Silas had rejected their daughter to be his mate. Silas picks the human Cloe but she is CIA and has been sent to spy on the dragons.

these are very cute and well written shorter novels. the character development is fast and simple yet works perfectly with the story progression. there’s not a lot of useless fluff of background characters and the perfect amount of world building that makes it an enjoyable easy read :) 3.5 stars

Enjoyed this

Loved Silva's and Chloe. Loved the surprise at the end. More politics in this one as the characters were more on the youth youth side.
