This was a nice shorter story. Jackson Gentry went to Liberty, Texas to investigate a death which he thought could be murder. He is a Texas Ranger. He gets to Liberty and goes to the ranch there he meets Liberty or Libby as her friends call her. She is a spitfire and Jackson is very attracted to her. The person who died was her father which only left her and her ranch hand, Cole, left on the ranch. Jackson thought that Cole was her boyfriend because he was so protective of her. Libby also has a secret which she feels sure even though she likes Jackson and he her that will drive him away when he finds out. Can love survive, read this one. A good read

This one hit close to home as I am BRCA2 positive. Good for her for outlining what women go through every day and showing there is life after loss.

Leaving Liberty by Lisa Minnelli is book 5 of her Texas Heart series and based on what I just read I will be reading all of the books in the series. Liberty Calvert is named for the town she grew up in and she comes with her own set of secrets and an independent stubborn nature. Jackson is the Texas Ranger who comes to investigate her father's death. He agrees with local law enforcement that her father's death was not an accident. Jackson shows up on the day of the private scattering of her father's ashes not the best of timing and there is already tension between Liberty and Jackson.
The chemistry between the two main characters is off the charts. As Jackson tries to find out the truth and uncover the secrets that Liberty is hiding he cannot hide his growing attraction for her. Liberty feels broken and pushes Jackson away as hard as she can bit he keeps coming back. This is a sweet love story and you will miss a really good book if you do t read it. Family and trust and love are strong themes in this book and Lisa really seems to love her subject. Very well done.

Good read
Lisa Mondello knows how to draw you in and hold your attention, but, unfortunately, just as I get in deep, the books end. Regardless, I do really enjoy them. In this book, she has just lost her father in an accident. The sheriff calls in a Texas Ranger. He's intrigued by her and wants to know all her secrets. Her scars run deep, literally, and she fears any man seeing them. Highly recommend.

Moving and Emotional.
A sweet and clean romance about a young woman who is mentally so strong but for whom the past has been difficult, particularly the last few months. Jackson, the Texas Ranger investigating her father's death, is drawn to her as he has been to no other woman before, despite the fact that she is obviously concealing secrets and constantly pushing him away.

Really Great Series
I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know all the characters. I loved Jackson and Liberty's story. She doesn't think she can have it all but Jackson definitely makes her want it. These two have a lot to overcome to get their HEA. A captivating read.

Really enjoyed this story between Liberty and Jackson. Her stubborness and his determination make for a great story that you just can't put down.

Liberty Calvert has plenty of secrets she’s hiding with her on the Bucking Hills Ranch, and the nosy Texas Ranger is busy trying to unbury them. If only he wasn’t so persistent...and handsome. Protecting her ranch and Cole are a priority. Now she has to protect her heart as well.
Jackson Gentry had no plans of staying longer than was needed in the small town of Liberty, Texas. He was called in to investigate what seemed to be a suspicious death of a nearby rancher. It would be much easier to write his report and get out of there if the stubborn daughter would give him some straight answers.
Jackson Gentry is the oldest of the handsome Gentry boys. The longer he’s in Liberty and around Libby, the more he finds that maybe his days of trying to run away are coming to an end. Now he just needs to convince this woman to share her troubles, and her heart with him. Libby was facing some tough issues, would Jackson be strong enough to face them?

Another winner for Ms Mondello. Though this book is part of a series, it’s a stand alone. I have not read the entire series and had no problems .
In this story we have Liberty Calvert, a young woman whose Father has recently died from a gunshot . Texas Ranger Jackson Gentry has been charged with investigating the incident.
From the moment they meet ,there is definitely some sparks flying, but try to hide it. More so Libby, than Jackson.
Without giving the plot away, suffice is to say that as the shooting is investigated, Jackson and Libby spend more time together. Libby has had multiple personal losses and sees no future with Jackson. A tenacious man, he is not willing to give up.
More that the storyline , we are reminded that though life is both short and uncertain, we should not let the fears, hurts and assumptions hold us back. Life is to be cherished, and embraced.

Jackson is investigating a death. When Libby tries to get him out of town, he becomes suspicious. Things just aren't adding up. Jackson wants Libby for his own, but he believes Cole is standing in the way of that. He is determined to find out what is going on, what Libby is hiding. This story had me hooked from the start, and I loved it!

A investigation that turned into finding love in the town of Liberty, Texas. I enjoyed this story since I am a fan of this series in how brothers find their HEA after being distant since the death of their mother. Jackson story was a different twist from the others.
