Gio After the attack on the Conti family, I went straight to work. We had a mission to bring down our enemy from the inside out, destroy everything they had, and watch their weak empire crumble. While bringing them to ruin, the last thing I expected was to find my weakness and source of strength wrapped up in one beautiful woman. She tried to get away, but there was one thing she would learn about the Barone men: there was nowhere to run from us. My little sweet cupcake was mine.
Patricia Looking for help, all I found was trouble in the form of a six-foot-something, handsome devil who hated all things Moreno and wanted revenge for my father’s sins. I tried to run, but he wasn’t having it. Marriage or death were my only options. Could I be happy as the wife of the man who wanted to destroy my family? Or could I make my escape and get the freedom I crave?
I'm not going to rate this because I couldn't take it seriously. I know this is a novella and all, but the majority of this story happened in the span of two days. Also, Gio (22) is such a caveman (in a very annoying way) and kind of an asshat when talking to Patty (18). As for her, she's wishy-washy, one minute she's mad at him; the next she's horny and wants to climb him like a tree. 🤦♀️
I feel like the plot is all over the place, and there are too many side characters that I cannot remember anymore. I forgot that this is a second-generation series. If readers skip the previous books and jump into reading this right ahead, these side characters might be confusing. I'm going to be honest and say that I find myself confused in so many scenes, figuring out who's who.
Anyway, I didn't enjoy it, and I know this is expected to be fast-paced, but it was too fast for my liking. Don't get me wrong, I love novellas, and I lived for them, but this just isn't working for me. I hope the next book is good.

Dual Virgins! Safe No OW No OM (she is meant to marry a Russian mobster but she flees) No separation No gross condom use HEA Gio is a 22 year old accountant, part of the Conti family, and Patricia just turned 18 and is part of the rival family (her family tried to kill his). Her family sucks and she escapes only to bump into Gio and it is instalove. The beginning was fun, until the part where Gio realizes who she is and has thoughts of pushing her out of the car so she can get run over. That thought is fleeting, another part of him can't fathom hurting her. I hated that he even thought that! It soured the moment and made me hate him. He kidnaps her and forces her to marry, they do and he is an ass hat to her for most of the book, and even though she holds her head high and sasses back, she is hurt by his behavior, unless they fuck. And even then, I didn't feel the connection. I am so torn, I want to like it. I like certain parts, and hate others. I love dual virgin romances so much, and I was so excited that this is a couple that will only ever know each other intimately, but I just felt like they connected and then not, and then they connected again, and then not. The sex scenes were so fast, its over before you enjoy it. I do love and feel the intensity in Gio's behavior, I love the alpha caveman in him and how possessive he is of his cupcake, but there is something missing. I think I didn't feel the love between them as stongly as I wished, not until the end at least. Passion yes, but only when they fuck, and when he grabs her forcefully to kiss her, or when he shows jealousy, but there are always interruptions, and misunderstandings and arguing, and yelling, ooooff, too much of all that. The man she was supposed to marry, Sergei Morozov, a Russian mobster that is kind, has no interest in her, she has no interest in him, but he seems sweet, and gentle with a sexy side. I was curious about what his story is and who the lucky lady will be in his love story (I am hoping he gets one and I am hoping it's a DV with plenty of sweet moments, intense passion but no arguing and yelling). I was interested in Sergei more than I was interested in Gio. When he politely said something nice to Patricia before leaving, she blushes, Gio gets jealous and she tells him that if he complimented her, was nice to her and showed her some warmth, she would not have blushed when Sergei said something kind to her. I kept wondering, the story would have been sweeter if the love story was with her and the Russian mobster, he seems sweet and respectful, kind to her and he had warmth in his eyes. When you wished for a moment, that the hero was someone else, that is not a good sign. I think that is what was lacking, the sweet moments, the swoon worthy moments. Gio should have shown her a side of him with sweetness, words that make her swoon and make her smile, words of love and some tenderness, having him comfort her also when she feels sad. Some softness to offset the intensity would have balanced it out and shown the love I just wish I felt between them. But all it was, was them arguing, yelling, him being a dick and her regretting falling for him wanting to leave. It was too much of that and the sex scenes were thrown in there at times where it felt off. They argue, and instead of some build up, some teasing, some foreplay, he just shoves his cock in her mouth and she becomes horny for him, only to then go back to square one with the incessant arguing and yelling. I read in the comments it would be a DV that is why my reading experience was better than if it hadn't been, but we find out, along with Patricia that he is a virgin and all hers at the tail end. Had I not known, I wouldn't have enjoyed it at all. I wish he told her at the beginning. It would made the sex scenes more meaningful if she knew that when she gave her virginity, he gave her his, and it would make it special and romantic. He even felt embarrassed and when he told her he didn't seem thrilled, like it made him less of a man. That did not sit well with me. He should have told her that he was never interested in fucking women, and only wanted to be with the woman of his dreams, gazing at her with love. He should have told her how thankful he is to know only her, because he saw his parents in love for decades and wanted that for himself, so meaningless sex was not for him. It is either with only one woman whom he will worship for the rest of his life or no one at all. I wish he said these things to her. We do get to his credit, that he wants her to be his wife from the second he sees her, and never wavered from the very beginning, so I will give the book credit that he would have never let her go and he did wonder if the barrage of feelings he has for Patricia is how his dad felt when he met his mom. So there is passion and some love there, but I wish there was more warmth, sweet moments, and less yelling and drama. It's frustrating, but that is how I feel with this book, it lacked tenderness and warmth. I will always love dual virgin romances though, and there is no OW drama at all which I love, and to Gio's credit, he never wavered in his possessiveness of his wife, never wavered that she is his forever, which I love so much and it saved the story for me. I try to convince myself that he just doesn't know how to act, because relationships, love and sex are new to him, so if I reread it knowing that, it would make it more enjoyable. I also loved the intensity between them, just wish for less drama, less interruptions, and more time together, more warmth more tenderness. That would have made this book a 5 star. I will take what I can get, I love dual virgin romances too much. I still think Alessio is the best in the series, it makes me want to reread his story. As long as C.M. Steele writes dual virgin romances, I will read them. Happy reading!

This was another fantastic book to read, the Conti Crime Family was unique they all have their own individual stories and Gio, and Patricia, (Cupcake), Patricia was arranged to be married to someone else but Gio disagrees and Patricia feels like the pawn between her family and the Bratva. Patricia doesn't want to be Gio's pawn the chemistry was rough and dirty.

I love, love Gio and Patricia, they certainly belong together! Such a wonderful and beautiful love story! Soo soo good and soo soo H.O.T I absolutly loved it! 😍❤️🔥❤️🔥🥰
CM has created another suspenseful yet romantic read in the Conti Family universe. Gio and Patricia are just as hot as the other couples in this family.
Both characters have great character development. Gio, learning to embrace his darker side, growing from just the numbers man, as well as becoming the obsessed lover. Patricia grows from the scared, abused and ignored girl into a brash, sassy and somewhat fearless woman.
Throw some kidnapping and threatening into the mix and you’ve got an amazing quick read.

This is one of the books of a wonderful series of books. It has all our great main characters in our prior series. We will visit all the old characters and meet new ones in this book. So.. here we go. Gio (Giovanni) is our handsome, smart twenty two year old MMC. Hes young, but carries himself as a much older man. He’s a specialized accountant for the Conti Mafia. His father’s head of the Conti Family enforcement. But he’s not just an accountant, he’s still a mafia man who does his duty. Patty (Patricia Marie) Moreno is our eighteen year old, petite, raven haired, beautiful, hazel eyed MFC. She was breed for an arranged marriage one day. She hadn’t had a birthday celebrated since childhood. Her parents only care that she keeps herself up so they can one day use her for their benefit. She the daughter of a mob boss after all. Get this excellent read to see what happens between these two characters after she runs into him…as she’s running away from another. Has hijinks, betrayals , misunderstandings, and a bonding everlasting. And found a protective and loving family that’s didn’t have to be blood. This is an instant love that will warm your heart. 🥰👍🏻.

This is Gios story, he is the son of Enrico and January and the tech wizz for the Conti family. He needs to meet somebody that stole his money when he runs into Patricia by chance. Patricia is a mafia princess that has to marry someone against her will. She can escape and runs straight into Gio. Gio sees her and just knows she will be his wife, so he kind of kidnaps her, even after he finds out that she is the enemy's daughter. These two fall head over heels for each other, but their enemies are lurking in the shadows. Instalove, sweet, steamy, OTT, romantic ,fun to read, with action, with twists and turns and totally safe (dual virgins 🥰 🥰, so so good 😊) with an awesome HEA 😍😍😍😍 I can't wait for the next story ❤️
This series has been fast paced and action packed and this book was no different. Loved the twists that happened but wasn’t a big fan of the misunderstandings and lack of communication. Sometimes it felt like they hated each other more than they liked each other, but it made for explosive steamy scenes! Both virgins and both coming from Mafia families, there was lots of drama, possessiveness and eventually a HEA. Love getting to see the characters in the future in the epilogues. Hoping for more books in this series!
*I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I jumped at the chance to read this book and dropped everything to start it right away! I have loved every book in this series and Gio did not disappoint at all! Patricia finds out on her 18th birthday that her parents have sold her to a bratva boss and she is determined to escape! She ends up running into Gio who knows on sight that she is meant to be his so he kidnaps her to keep her safe. Then he just has to convince her that he wants her for her and not for revenge on her family.
Go and his cupcake were everything. I loved how he was with her, they were eachothers all. This book was hot and spicy and had me reading this book as fast as I could.
Gio is the fifth book int The Conti Crime Family but the first one I have read. I really enjoyed this story with a Mafia story-line about Patricia Moreno and Giovanni Barone. He is part of the Conti family and is what they call a "specialized accountant". Gio's father heads the Conti Family's enforcement, which handles all the dirty work for the family. When he goes to a man's office to collect some highly laundered money for the family he encounters a young woman who seems to running from something. Something in him kicks in immediately and he knows he will do what it takes to keep her safe, not knowing who she actually is. Patty's eighteenth birthday is today and instead of getting a party and cake she finds out from her very cruel mother that she is to be married today. Patty is the youngest daughter of the Moreno family and has basically been hidden away for years, kept at home, to keep her pure and innocent. Patty may be sweet and lovely but she also is not blind to who her parents are and just how cruel they can be. When she is informed of what today is to bring she is determined to escape, but just not sure how. Luckily for her there is a saviour who steps in, with a case of mistaken identity, and she is able to get away from the family compound. But Patty may just be stepping out of the frying pan and straight into the fire with how this day is about to unfold.
This is the 5th book in The Conti Crime Family series featuring the absolutely thrilling dual POV,entertaining,HOT,insta-love mafia, suspenseful romance between Gio and Patricia. Gio is Enrico's son and he's known as the "nerd" of the family since he's only been involved with the money making aspects of the family. Everything changes when he meets Patricia who as soon as he sees her he knows instantly she's his. Patricia found out on her 18th birthday that she had been sold by her parents to a Bratva boss which she was devastated to learn. Patricia knows that she has to run away and when she leaves Patricia runs straight into Gio which will change the rest of her life. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this absolutely thrilling dual POV, entertaining, HOT, insta-love, mafia, suspenseful romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

A great continuation of this series! I am loving that we are getting to read about the second generation. I loved also how you still got to see previous characters too. The storyline was so good... and I like how it kind of fed off the previous book. Both main characters were great, I really likes the MFC, she held her own and didn't give up or back down when she believed in something or someone. I liked the rival family element too, this threw in some good enemies to lovers vibes and they have you hooked right from their first meeting! The book had many tense moments... whether it be tension between characters, heated tension between the main characters and also an intenseness between the main characters... and of course that much needed drama to bring it all together... I really hope we get more soon!! This is one of my new fav series from this author!.
Gio is the accountant for the Conti mafia, they are going after the Morenos, taking their money. He never expects that he is about to crash into his destiny. Patty Moreno's eighteenth birthday is today, her parents do not wish her a happy birthday. Her mother takes pleasure in letting her know she is getting married that day. She is able to sneak away with help, seeks aid from her godfather, where she runs into him.
He claims she is his and he is not letting her go. He decides to take her to his boss's house, she is the enemies daughter, but that stops nothing. This is steamy read with plenty drama.

This is a great story, the plot was strong, it was packed with a lot, C.M Steele did a great job on it, the story was written well. Patricia and Gio were strong characters, the two were made for one another, their path had it's ups and downs but the two were drawn together with a strong connection and chemistry, their chemistry was steamy, they were good together. I enjoyed this story, I'd suggest reading it. Thank you, C.M. Steele. Great work :)
This is an amazing series. I've loved each book and Gio was no different. Each book can be read as standalone but reading books in order is best. Gio is one of the 2nd generation. Each book has a happy ending and no cheating. While Gio was typically not like the others, meeting the daughter of the family's enemy changed that. He'd do absolutely anything to keep her safe, as the daughter was treated poorly by the family.
I’m just loving this family full of possessive, domineering men. The instant connection between Gio and Patricia was intense and immediate. I loved their little ruse. Gio turned from a nerdy tech guy into a crude, dirty talking, possessive alpha the moment he saw his Cupcake. It was awesome. Definitely a page turner. Very steamy. So much happening! So good.

It boggles my mind that we are already in the second generation for this book series. Gio and Patricia were both very passionate. The angst & love were high and yet the book was sweet even in the dark side (though not too dark - in my humble opinion). It isn't my favorite C.M. Steele book but it was a fun read. I'd definitely re-read again.

This is the fifth book in this incredible series, and this is Gio and Patricia’s story. This is a well written action packed story which has family, friendships, emotions, intrigue, revenge, miscommunication, undeniable chemistry, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy addictive page turner. Patricia discovers on her 18th birthday shes been sold in marriahe. Finally taking her life into her own hands she runs right into Gio. Gio wants revenge against her father, but does he want her more and can he keep her safe and his? Well written steamy desires action drama, enemies, captive and more.

I enjoyed the book. Patricia "Patty" and Gio were great characters. Some miscommunication between the two but they were able to sort it out. I enjoyed reading about the characters from the other books in the series especially Viv. Great addition to the series.

I absolutely loved this series!! All these men just went for what they wanted. Gio didn't know fate had big plans for him till Patty ran right into him. Patty wanted out before she got trapped in a forced marriage, only to run smack dab into one anyway. But alas love conquers all.
Read all the others in this series who b I really enjoyed, so was eagerly waiting for the release of this book. Unfortunately, it’s as if the author was on a hurry to get it written. The pace of the storyline had my head spinning and i had to constantly go back and re read sections to make sure I understood it. Not as good as the others. Sorry!
Gio by C. M.Steel An interesting read that brings rivalry family together by force but better then the one she was supposed to marry. So you get the pull and push of these characters that has all the right feels when they’re attracted to each other. An enjoyable story.

The moment Gio spots Patricia in the hallway he is hooked he just doesn't know she his the daughter of his enemy, when he finds out he isn't happy and hatches a plan to marry her. The marriage is more than a sham but Gio needs to convince Patricia of that and keeps messing up in this fun read.
It’s bittersweet to see the end of this series. But, I absolutely loved each and every one of these 5 books. They were funny, suspenseful and interesting. The men were all crazy obsessive, which I loved. The women were strong and sassy. Thank you, C.M. Steele for these amazing and entertaining novellas.
Excerpts are meant to make you excited to read a book, not drive a knife through the eye of the mmc’s little sister. Vivian, single handedly just ruined my excitement. Disappointed because I’ll be skipping this one, regardless of the outcome. That shit wasn’t needed.
