A retired teacher friend lent me this book about independent school leadership, where Thomas Olverson explains how he oversaw significant positive changes at The River School in Massachusetts. I have been teaching at an independent school in the ISL for the past 45 years, and was aware of the change in that school's reputation. I was curious as to how it all happened. I think that Olverson does a great job at explaining how he led Rivers through those changes, and shared smart advice for leadership at other independent schools. This is an engaging book filled with school wisdom and practical advice.
