On the run from the inter-galactic government, Rooney Smith has been hiding in the forests of Earth with his near ancient and loyal spaceship the USS Commodore.  He is almost caught, but enters in the void and emerges 500 years into the future, in a universe where the inter-galactic government is no longer in charge.  He meets a kind young pilot named Cita who becomes his guide to this brave new universe.  Having been alone for so long, Rooney finds himself drawn to this woman and finds that things are neither better or worse in the galaxy.
