My life is content. Living and working in my small hometown of Pine Village is right where I want to be, especially with family and a few close friends nearby.
It’s taken me some time to dig my way out of the negative spotlight I found myself under a few years back, thanks to an old photo from college that resurfaced. That’s why I have rules: no social media, no drinking alcohol in public, and no dating the father of one of my students. Then, Gavin Pierson rescues me from the side of the road.
He’s not making it easy to say no, especially when he flashes that sexy boyish grin of his. The only problem is dating him would be a complication I’m not prepared to deal with, but he’s proving to be relentless.
Gavin
Something calls to me when I’m near my daughter’s shy fifth-grade teacher. I wanted Ava Rutledge when we were teenagers in high school, and now that seems to be the case once again.
However, she’s given herself strict guidelines, and despite the attraction I know she feels, convincing her to take a chance on us could be a challenge. It's a good thing I’m a patient man. The biggest hurdle we face is the fact she’s my daughter’s teacher, and that’s the one rule she’s not willing to budge on.
I’m going to have to show her how much fun it can be when we break it.
Avid reader, writer, mother, and wife! I love to read contemporary romance. Add in a little "spice" or hot guys in uniform pants, and I'm a happy woman. There's just something about diving into a book and engrossing in the magic of your hero and heroine getting their happily ever after.
I know what to expect when I pick up any book by Lacey Black, and that’s going to be a story filled with real people and real emotions. You know these characters, you are friends with them or if you aren’t you want to be.
Pine Village is a small town with all of the positives and negatives that come with it. But the fear of judgement is probably the thing Ava is the most afraid of. Is she going to let that fear stand in the way of something great? Or the real question is will Gavin let her?
This is part of Lacey’s Pine Village series and yes you can start with this book, but I am not that kind of a reader, I have to start from the beginning. Trust me on this, you are going to want to do the same!
Welcome to Pine Village! This is book 4 in the series, but can be read as a stand alone. Pretty Relentless brings you the story of Ava and Gavin. Ava is a 5th grade teacher who strongly believes in not dating any of the parents of her students. Gavin is a single father of a 5th grader. They both have undeniable chemistry and decide to try to date, but in secret. With all this fire there is bound to be flames as well. Will their relationship survive?
I’m such a sucker for these single parent tropes and this one Lacey knocks it out of the park!! Gavin is a wonderful single dad who is a doting dad, but trying to find is way in the world. Ava sweet local teacher, but trying to keep herself out of the limelight since her issue with social media. She isn’t doing such a good job when it comes to Gavin, the pull between them is bigger than either of them expected. Mix in that Ava just happens to be his daughter’s teacher. This book is fun, low angst and whole lot of chemistry. The push and pull between these two is so beautifully written, plus add in the meddling friends this story is pure entertainment from beginning to end. Also, Annabelle is just too cute for her own good!! Loved her character! I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
Let me be the first to say, I am a sucker for the title to be woven into the story. Add in the fact that the title fits this storyline to a flipping T, chefs kiss.
I loved Ava and Gavin as individuals, and I really loved them as one. At first it felt like a crush, and when I think crush, I think of teenagers. So that was a little off putting to me considering they were in their 30’s. It took a bit for me to feel that connection, but when I did, the build up of the storyline had me going. The connection felt raw and genuine. There was patience and a trust that made me realize these two were meant forever. Now the ending in my opinion, it was wrapped up to fast. I feel like there was no ending to the plot. It left me feeling like the story wasn’t finished, I needed more.
Overall, this was an okay read for me. Will it stop me from reading this authors words? Absolutely not. Black is an extremely talented author, and I look forward to her future work.
This was just so sweet and adorable it could give you a toothache.
Gavin Pierson is a divorced father who's a builder in Pine Village. Like most of the characters we've met so far he grew up there. His daughter is in grade 5 and her teacher is the woman he's falling for, but what's cute is he's been crushing on her since high school.
Ava Rutledge is a couple of years older than Gavin and she's a teacher at the school. She loves her job and takes a great deal of pride in it. Unfortunately, she's had a scandal recently that put her job in jeopardy and since then she has made her own rules to keep her reputation safe.
Gavin is about to make Ava question all her rules and take a chance on love.
This has so many great tropes to fall into. Single parent, small town, sneaking around, friends-to-lovers, and blue-collar.
This isn't my favorite of the Pine Village series but I still really enjoyed it. Gavin was just the right amount of swoony and sweet and not afraid to go after Ava. Ava was timid and sweet and she was reserved enough for Gavin to have to push through her walls, but once she did she found herself.
I am looking forward to returning to Pine Village when Lacey releases the next book in the series. . . . Gavin thought Ava Rutledge was the perfect girl in high school but she never noticed him being a few grades below. He grew up, got married, had a kid, and got divorced. He would never regret his marriage because it gave him his beautiful, smart daughter, Annabelle.
Last summer though, when he saw Ava in that red dress celebrating Hallie's birthday it seems the crush he thought was long dead came roaring back. 'That crush I had in high school comes back, if it every truly left. Maybe it just sat dormant, waiting for the opportunity to reemerge and grow.'
Since her college photo scandal, Ava has been worried about only showing her best self to the Pine Village community. Despite that all kids do silly things in college her own night of recklessness almost cost her everything she worked so hard for.
She sees her friends all so happy and she wants that for herself too, but there hasn't been anyone that makes her feel special for a long time. Until one of the fathers of her student seems to light a little fire in her body whenever he's around. 'But if - if - I was going to break my own rule, it might very well be for a man like Gavid Pierson.'
When their friends seem to be making every effort to fix her up with him, Gavin sees his opening and he's determined to make Ava see that he's worth the chance. "I'm going to kiss you, Ava Rutledge. For real. Without everyone else watching us or because it's expected at the stroke of midnight. I'm going to kiss you when the time is right for both of us, when you're ready. But know it's coming, beautiful, and when I kiss you, it'll be just the beginning."
It's hard to resist Gavin, despite all her rules. He's sweet, caring, funny, and a fantastic father/man, but she's not sure if she can take the risk of trying for something more.
'For the first time in I don't even know how long, I want to experience everything I didn't even realize I was missing in my life. And I want it with Gavin.'
💌 Small Town Romance 💌 Single Dad 💌 Daughter's teacher 💌 Young time Crush 💌 Heartwarming 💌 🌶️🔥
🅼🆈 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆:
I felt like this one was a warmth filled ride that gave me a hero who is absolutely relentless in his pursuit and so charming, having a sweet daughter and a teacher who loves kids, but doesn't want another scandal to her name and so stays safe in her zone.
A stranded woman and a good Samaritan, adding to it the instant sparks flying but more so there being a crush on the gorgeous woman he's stumbled upon.
Gavin didn't think he'd get another reason for being around Ava, his crush but when her roof needs work and him being the best contractor in their town, suddenly business gives a chance for them to be closer.
Ava is absolutely clear that she doesn't want to date her student's dad especially after what had happened all those years ago and she's adamant about it in spite of the obvious chemistry she feels between her and Gavin.
I remember when we'd read about Ava in one of the previous books as the sweet teacher who had been affected because of one scandalous incident, that wasn't even anything bad and now I wanted to know what Ava was like and how things had changed for her.
Ohhh... Gavin though was such a charmer as he subtly but oh so sweetly keeps on pursuing Ava until she becomes soft towards him.
I loved all the moments we get, the one where Ava finds herself unknowingly having dinner with Gavin's family and then especially their non date date, watching the Aurora Borealis... Oh my... There are so many such heart warming moments in this one that had me feeling so much and had my heart full.
Also, yes even though this one was such a heart warming ride yet we get lots of spicy times for sure. 🔥
Gavin has such a cute daughter and her adorable dialogues and questions had me smiling continuously.
It was amazing meeting the gang, the couples I adored from the previous books in this series.
Ohh.. that last epilogue was definitely an interesting one and looking forward to Marcus' story next.
Tropes: 🩷single dad 🩶secret relationship 🩷she’s his daughters teacher 🩶forbidden 🩷he falls first 🩶slow burn 🩷she was his hs crush
I love Lacey she continues to be one of my favorites continuously. This series is no exception. Each book is a different couple, each can be read as a standalone, although the characters can carry over to other books. This is Ava and Gavin’s story.
Gavin, has known Ava most of their lives as they were from the same town and went to school together. Now unbeknownst to anyone, especially Ava, Gavin has always had a crush on Ava, but they ran in different circles back then. Now fast forward a few years as both are in their 30s, Gavin is now a contractor, and a single dad to his daughter Annabelle.
Ava, is our bookworm 5th grade teacher. She has her few girlfriends in town , now there spouses too, but is not a social butterfly… she much prefers sweats and a good book. The more time she spends with Gavin the more and more she opens herself up to his charm. She adores Annabelle, but doesn’t want anything to get in the way of her career.
Gavin and Ava secretly start a relationship, after a push n pull battle, wanting to wait until school year is over to go public … however they are secretly outed… and now they have to prove they are in this together, as Ava has to fight for her job… should she continue to fight? Can they be together? Will she lose everything bc of her relationship with Gavin.
This was such a great read. A quick one for me but nonetheless i enjoyed it.
“I’m not afraid of a little cat and mouse chase, and something tells me that this woman will be one-hundred-percent worth it when caught.”
Ava Rutledge is the quintessential sweet schoolteacher and Gavin Pierson is the single dad of one of her top students. Her students love her, but she isn’t new to controversy after a picture was leaked of her from her college days that put her job on the line. She’s not about to let that happen again — and especially not with the hot, single dad of one of her students.
Gavin Pierson has been crushing on Ava since his freshman year of high school. He chalked it up to a teenage dream but as he continues crossing paths with her, he feels those old flames fire back up. From fixing her front porch and roof to the aurora borealis, these two are feeling the sparks. He’s adamant about proving how much he cares about her and wants to shout it to the world. But he’s a patient man and lets Ava take the reins.
I admired Ava’s ability to keep holding her head up and understood why she’d be fearful of another small-town rumor putting her job on the line. Living in a small town, I have seen things snowball into situations that destroy relationships/marriages, careers, and so much more. Gavin is sweet and dedicated, albeit a little bossy – in the best way! And he’s such a wonderful father to Annabelle. Her mother, on the other hand, UGH!
I hope to see more of them in the next book as there are a few unanswered questions that I have! Such a sweet read with plenty of heat and discovery between these two (and the sheets!).
Okay have to say Pine Village is the place you want to go to right now. We finally have Ava's story and boy is she one full of surprises. Everybody has place in life where you regret doing it and boy Ava has one that everybody in Pine Village knows about right now. Even though she's a great teacher she is still somewhat being shamed of what she did even though it was years before teaching. As much as she tries she has become somewhat boring and one person is making her feel adventurous something she can't have right now. All her friends say she's crazy for not being with Gavin but have to say knowing her reasons I applaud her for staying strong to her decisions but come on it's Gavin. Gavin Pierson is a man you can' just ignore and no matther how much tries she is determined to be perfect and not bring scandal again. Only problem is Lacey Black doesn't make it easy for her and hello this is a man you can only say no before you really cave. I loved that with Gavin she can be herself and really enjoy being a woman and somewhat of a mother to little Annabelle. Here is a man who know what he wants and it's always been Ava. The crush he has for her has grown and seeing her with his daughter proves how right they can all be together. Like I said there is just something about Pine Village that will sweep you away and seeing the whole gang was awesome, loved it.
I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
We are back in Pine Valley for another sweet sexy treat with Ava and Gavin's story. I love that with these small town books, Ms. Black makes us feel like part of the group as you read, not just looking in the window and watching the show. A sweet romance as these two work to decided that putting themselves out there is worth the risk.
Gavin has been there done that and it was a whirl wind time but in the end he wasn't set for longevity with is ex-wife. He does have the most fantastic little girl who he wouldn't give up for the anything. He is a busy businessman who loves his work but he is ready for more. Ava caught his eye years ago as a teen but the more he sees here around town he wonders if there is a chance.
Ava is happy with life as it is. Loving her teaching job and helping to educate the young people of the town one class at a time. As much as she tries she has her favorites. She is holding herself back when it comes to love and life since the crazy social media thing a while back. Can she let herself step back out into the pool? She has put her rules in place for a reason.
It is fun to watch Gavin push Ava out of her comfort zone a little. Watching this relationship grow, step by step. Will Ava give in and let it happen? Could Gavin be the one worth the risk?
Grab your copy and find out. You won't be disappointed.

This is book 4 in a series. This is Ava and Gavin's book. Gavin is a single girl dad. Ava is his daughter's teacher. Gavin is a few years younger than Ava but he has harbored a crush on her since high school. Fast forward 15+ years and now Ava is his daughter's teacher and his crush has taken on new meaning and Gavin decides to make his move. Ava is hesitant to get involved with Gavin, not just because he is her student's father, but she is also still leery of small town gossip after a unfortunate social media post that upended her life several years before. What Ava doesn’t count on is how relentless Gavin can be when he decides to win Ava’s heart. Can they keep their new romance undercover long enough for them to find out what they meant to each other.
I am a big fan of Lacey Black. She writes small town characters you are invested in from one book to the next. You meet Ava earlier in the series when you hear about an incident where an old photo posted on social media almost cost her the job that she loves. After that she became very careful about what she does in public — which is completely relatable. I loved that you get to catch up with the couples from the previous 3 books in an organic way that advances the relationship between Gavin and Ava. Overall I enjoyed this book - as I have enjoyed every book in this series. I can’t wait to read Book 5!
Lacey Black does a fantastic job of fleshing out her characters, making them feel like real people with genuine struggles and emotions. Ava’s internal conflict is portrayed with sensitivity, and Gavin’s patience and understanding make him a truly likable hero. The setting of Pine Village adds to the story’s warmth, creating a backdrop that feels both familiar and inviting. What makes Pretty Relentless stand out is its blend of heartwarming romance and relatable emotional depth. Ava’s hesitance is understandable—she’s been burned before, and the risk of becoming fodder for small-town gossip again is a real concern. Gavin’s unwavering determination to break down her walls, however, is where the story truly shines. The chemistry between the two is palpable, and their journey from tentative acquaintances to something much deeper is a joy to watch unfold.
Overall, Pretty Relentless is a sweet, engaging read that will appeal to fans of small-town romances and second-chance love stories. It’s a tale about overcoming past mistakes, taking risks, and finding happiness in the most unexpected places. Lacey Black has crafted a story that’s both heartwarming and satisfying, leaving readers with a smile and a sigh of contentment.
Lacey Black is one of my all time favorite and go-to authors. Her writing and storytelling are absolutely perfect. And this story is no exception! Ava is a 5th grade teacher and doesn’t date her students’ fathers. She had an incident happen that negatively affected her. Gavin Pierson is a local contractor and a single father to Annabelle, a fifth grader in Ava’s class. He had a crush on Ava when they were in high school and it never fully went away. Gavin is one of those characters that is completely swoon worthy. He respected Ava’s concerns and fears, knowing not to push her too hard. I loved how Gavin presence had Ava question the rules she put into place. And Annabelle was such an adorable, who shares a love of reading with Ava. The main characters had amazing chemistry and the story keeps you turning the pages for more. As always, I loved catching up with past characters and their families. This is a heartwarming romance that will leave you wanting more. Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review. Even though I received this for free, I have purchased the ebook copy of this book and the previous ones in this series for my Kindle.
Pretty Relentless is the latest instalment in Lacey Black's Pine Village series and I LOVED it!!! Pine Village is a typical small town, with all the best things associated with it....but one drawback is that everyone knows everyone else's business (and they're NOT afraid to voice their opinions, either!) Ava has her reasons for not wanting to stir the small-town rumor mill (due to a picture from her college days that appeared and nearly ruined her career as a teacher), so when Gavin starts to show some intense interest in her, she does her best to not give in to the butterfly-inducing chemistry she feels whenever he's near! One of the rules Ava put in place to protect herself was to never date a students' father. It just so happens that Gavin's daughter Annabelle is in her class and she's one of her favourite students! Once Gavin decides he'll do anything in his power to change Ava's mind about dating him, it wasn't only Ava who lost her heart to Gavin!!!! I fell head over heels for the sinfully smexy contractor right along with her!
Pretty Relentless is an engaging and heartwarming read that was like wrapping a soft blanket around you when it's cold and dreary outside! Ms. Black proves with every book she writes that she is one of THE Queens of small town romance! I can't wait to see what happens next in beloved Pine Village!
Another cute and swoon story by the amazing Lacey Black. Gavin has had a crush on Ava since they were in high school. He never thought he'd have a chance with the gorgeous redhead but with her being his daughter’s teacher, things are starting to look up. When he senses his chance, he asked her out on a no-date date and the rest was history.
Ava is trying to keep her nose clean since the scandal of her college photos were released a few years back. She has a strict set of rules about how she lives her life and letting Gavin in, is not in the books for her. But his pursuit of her proves too much for her walls and soon she’s just enamored with him as he is with her. But her fear is still there and when once again someone tries to take her down, all bets are off, and Gavin needs to make her see that nothing can stay in the way of their love.
This story was such a feel-good book. The MCs were easy to connect with and fell for and when they reached HEA as a united front, it felt like all was right in the world.

While Gavin had a crush way back in highschool, he never took the next step when it came to Ava, but now he can't stop thinking about his daughter's favorite teacher. Ava has rules in place for a reason, and dating her student’s father definitely breaks all of them. But there is a definite spark, and for the first time Ava is considering breaking all of the rules for Gavin.
He is Pretty Relentless, but in the sweetest of ways. She is cautious but ready to give them a chance. But, gossip in a small town can be brutal and not everyone is happy about the romance between parent and teacher.
Gavin is the sweetest. So respectful and loving. And, he has it bad for Ava! I loved him as a dad for Annabelle as well! Ava is cautious, but with reason. She has been burned by gossip before. She’s also an amazing teacher. She knows Gavin is special and wants to take the chance with him, but is so afraid of the fallout.
Pretty Relentless was a lovely slow burn, friends to lovers romance with a determined single dad, an adorable bookworm 5th grader and the sassy teacher who is perfect for both of them! 5 stars!
Yet another amazing hit in this series! You'll fall in love with Gavin, Ava and Annabelle! Lacey brings her characters to life, and worms their way into your heart! This is a must read! 5 Pine Village Stars for this one! Ava is the fifth grade teacher at her school, and she loves teaching. She has one rule, she doesn't date her students dads. But on her way home from a wedding, her car breaks down, and Gavin, one of her students dads happens to drive by and offer her a ride home. She reluctantly takes it, and realizes just how hot he is. She can't think like that, she's already had trouble in school and doesn't need this one. Gavin had a crush on Ava back when they were in school, and now they keep running into each other, and his daughter Annabelle, just loves her and talks non stop about her. He decides he's not going to let her get away again, but with her rule, it's going to be hard to break down her walls. I enjoyed their story so much! A true gentleman in Gavin, and his relentless pursuit of Ava, won my heart over! Grab this one asap, I couldn't put it down!
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a fun story. It stars Ava and she is matched up with hottie, single dad and younger man, Gavin. She is the local teacher and Gavin's kid ends up in her class and that's when the fun begins.
Ava is hot for Gavin and Gavin is hot for her. In fact, she was his teen crush when he was 15. But she was a few years ahead of him in school, so she didn't know he existed. Now he is a single dad, and she ends up being his kid's teacher.
They live in a small town, and this is a bit of a forbidden romance/hiding relationship type of story. Ava and Gavin are so cute together and as you know in small towns its hard to hide anything.
This was a fun story. The age thing and forbiddeness of the relationship were minor plot points in my opinion. This is more of a story of a man who sees his ONE and wants her but has to convince her to give him a shot.
Lacey Black delivers yet another captivating romance in "Pretty Relentless," the fourth instalment of the Pine Village series. This heartwarming story is brimming with Ms Black's signature swoon-worthy moments and sizzling heat that will keep readers enthralled from start to finish—I’m still fanning myself after that steamy garage scene!
Ava, a dedicated sixth-grade teacher, has a strict rule: never date the single dads of her students. But that rule is put to the test when Arabella’s father, Gavin, reenters her life. Gavin, who harbored a crush on Ava back when he was 15 and she was 18, finds their paths crossing again as friends begin to push them together. Their connection reignites, making it impossible to ignore the sparks between them. Keeping their budding romance a secret proves challenging, especially as a few bumps in the road lie just ahead.
Once you step into Pine Village, you won’t want to leave. Lacey Black masterfully crafts the backdrop of her stories with mesmerising precision, using the little details that make a romance truly great. From a non-date under the stars to cozy family lunches, and from emotional chemistry to a swoon-worthy boyfriend, this story has it all. Lacey Black is one of the few authors who consistently captures the magic of romance, book after book, and "Pretty Relentless" is no exception.
Lacey Black’s Pretty Relentless was a completely charming, slowly-burning small-town romance that captured the magic of a secret relationship. This story focused on Ava, the shy 5th grade teacher, and Gavin, the single dad of one of her students who also had a crush on her in high school. Their chemistry is undeniable, with sizzling tension that built naturally and kept me tapping my Kindle. Ava has rules, though, and she won’t date the fathers of her students, but Gavin is, well, relentless, and so begins their secret relationship.
As is always the case with Lacey Black, her storytelling was both heartfelt and compelling, which made this romance a satisfying and addictive reading escape. Five smooches from me for Pretty Relentless by Lacey Black! ~Danielle Palumbo
Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
Ava loves living and working in her small town of Pine Village. She finally got her reputation back after a scandal a few years ago. Now she has strict rules that she doesn’t break.
Gavin wanted Ava when they were teenagers in high school. Years later he wants her again. But there is a slight complication, she’s his five year old daughter Annabelle’s teacher.
Ava doesn’t date her student’s dads. Even if one of them makes her heart flutter every time she sees him. But Gavin is determined to show her that they can be good together.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a he falls first, single dad, secret relationship, slow burn, small town romance then you’re going to love it.
The fourth in the series and you can read this as a standalone as it's a different couple. I have been lucky and read the previous three, so I'm caught up on all the drama and happenings. Gavin and Ava are part of the friend group, as they also grew up in Pine Village. Ava is Gavin's daughter's teacher, and while she feels a little something when they are around each other, she would rather play it safe and keep everything strictly in the friend zone. Gavin on the other hand, is more than willing to convince Ava that they have something worth exploring. Will Ava be able to hold out against Gavin and the other matchmakers of the bunch?
This was a good addition to the series. I found this to be a bit slower than the other stories and but still a very cute read. I give this 4 stars.
Ever since some private pictures went public Ava is determined to not do anything that could impact her teaching job. This is why she doesn’t want to give in to her attraction to Gavin as he is the father of one of her students but that is proving to be more difficult than she thought so as long as no one knows what could be the harm.
Gavin is a divorced single father who is devoted to his daughter. He and Ava have been acquaintances back to their high school days and he always had feelings for her that he never shared. With their paths continuing to cross Gavin is determined to win her heart but first he must convince her.
Ava’s reservations are understandable, but Gavin is purposeful when it comes to them being together and isn’t about to let anything come between him and the woman he has always had feelings for.
The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Pretty Remarkable: A Pine Village Prequel Short Story Pretty Incredible (Pine Village #1) Pretty Dependable (Pine Village #2) Pretty Drunk (Pine Village #3)
This is Ava and Gavin’s story. Ava went though some bad times because of an old photo and she is making sure that does not happen again by following rules she believes will keep her out of trouble. When she needs help one of her students’ father helps her out. Now he wants to take her out and she is sticking by her rules. But will he be able to get her to break that rule and give him a chance to prove to her that they could be great? Or will she stick to her rules?
Pretty Relentless is book four in the Pine Village series. I have loved every book in this series, and this might have moved to the top favorite.
Pine Village is a small town, complete with an extraordinary rumor mill. But that is part of small town life. Due to an incident in the past, Ava has set a few hard and fast rules for herself. One is not to date the father of a student. After being rescued on the side of the road by her favorite student's father.
Gavin, is relentless about trying to change her mind about dating him.
Another winner in the books for Ms. Black. A heartwarming, engaging story that was hard to put down. Looking forward to what comes next for the town of Pine Village.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Gavin is a builder and a divorced single father living in Pine Village. He has a daughter in Grade 5 and a hot tea her who has a thing for. Since High school, but she didn't know as she was older than him.
Ava is a teacher and she loves her job. And no matter how attracted she is to one of her students dad's she won't act on it. Due to a previous 'scandal' she will do everything to not to ruin her job.
But she wants what all her friends has, their happily ever after. But can she put it all on the line for her chance at love😬
I don't know how Ava denied Gavin, he was sweet, caring and an amazing dad. But she was scared to take the chance. This story was sweet, and their friends trying to get them together was funny but I loved it. Loved the story, loved the characters.
Makes me want to go back to reading the previous couples stories😍
“Gradually, over time. I’ll wear you down. I’m relentless like that,” Ava is a 4th grade teacher in her hometown. Her goal is to keep her head down, follow her self imposed rules and eventually retire from her childhood school. Her most important rule is to stay away from all of her students fathers but nothing could prepare her for Gavin.
Gavin is a single father who has known Ava forever and has had a crush on her since 15. He is finally taking his shot with Ava. “I told her I was relentless, and it’s time to prove it.”
Gavin and Ava were an adorable couple. This was a cute small town romance! Thank you @laceyblackwrites for the ARC! Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔥: “I like this bolder version of you, Miss Rutledge.”
This is the fourth book in this impressive series, and this is Gavin and Ava’s story. Ava is content living her life I her small hometown, and she is a 5th grade teacher, and has rules about not dating her pupils’ fathers. Gavin is a single dad to his daughter, and Ava is her shy teacher. Gavin has wanted Ava since they were in high school, and he is patient and relentless in his pursuit Of Ava, but can he convince her to change her mind? This is a well written easy to read, slow burn story, with family, friendships, emotions, secret relationships, humor, witty banter, sizzling tension, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, heartfelt, and heartwarming, small town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
