Rate this book

As the extremity of The Programme sinks in, Alex, Cooper and their friends flee to a new haven and hunker down for the winter; the bleak monotonous months giving them time to plan their next move.

Old friends meet new; and the introduction of new faces bring with them new admissions. As Alex’s secrets take their toll, she faces choices far beyond her years.

When all is exposed, will they trust each other enough to survive?

To get justice for themselves and their friends – and all those in The Programme – Alex and Cooper risk everything as they embark on the only journey that can bring an end to The Programme.

What will they sacrifice to protect the people they love?

There is only one way to confess.

Only one question will it work?

I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed. I've read all three books over the past few days and feel like the endings just fell a bit flat. Things felt a bit random and rushed in places and the ending? I feel like we didn't get one! We got to the destination and boom, everything's done, no battle, no conflict, this evil programme that's been running for years is just over? Because of the church?

I enjoyed the first book, got through the second and have been let down by the third. Could've had real potential too!

Now that I've read the whole trilogy, I can properly review it. The storyline is good. The writing does leave you wanting to know what happens next. However, the main problem I had was with the quality of the writing - spelling and grammar mistakes, confusing settings, eg saying they meet at 2pm and then having a character say 'good morning'. It really took away from the world. It's hard to immerse yourself when you're noticing these things a lot. They are good books, I did want to finish the story, but these issues frustrated me. The ending felt very rushed, and the last few chapters were very repetitive. But overall, I enjoyed the series, and they were relatively quick reads.

Originally I only started this series because barely anything is ever set in scotland and that where I’m from. But omg I couldn’t put my kindle down while reading this trilogy. I was very pleasantly surprised and I’m glad I read it. Don’t get me wrong it’s pretty messed up but that’s what makes a good book sometimes. The story line was really good and even though it was YA. The descriptions of where the characters were and stuff was so real you could picture it and the whole story was gripping and kept me wanting to know what happens next.

I did enjoy this book series, being set in my home country was a big bonus. The constant spelling, grammar and punctuation errors were annoying, and did take me out of the story a bit. I don’t love the ending, not for any particular reason, it just didn’t feel satisfying. The final relationship was not what I was expecting and didn’t feel right to me. Overall a good series though, just needs a good editor.

This was such a great series and I can’t wait to read it again. The ending made me cry, I can’t believe it’s over after everything they went through that it just all ended so suddenly. I felt a bit sad that nothing happened but a sudden flip from the church to the end of the program and poor coopers death, I wish we had seen what happend to his family and found out how everyone was after that.

This trilogy needs more credit bc I couldn’t put these bloody books down!

Alex ended with the right guy is all I have to say

Also there ain’t no way the Catholic Church could fix all that but oh well
