“You ever think you got things organized, lined up like it’s supposed to be, everything’s good in your world, and then something completely unexpected falls into the middle of your plans like a bomb, making everything scatter into a million pieces and proving to you that you don’t have control of a single thing?”
“Um, no,” Ronan answered.
“Yeah, me neither,” Brandt said.
Brandt was raised in a shifter clan. It was apparent from a very young age, that Brandt — a Black Bear shifter — would be Alpha of the new generation. He has embodied that calling through character, strength, control, and honesty all of his life. As his cousins moved on and up in pursuit of their dreams, he’s held down the fort at home, making sure they all had a safe, secure place to come back to when the time was right. He’s more than happy with the life he chose. The only thing that is still a question to him is who his mate will be. He’s watched the generation before him made better, stronger even, when they met their mates, and he looks forward to the same. Which is why he’s thrown for a loop when the female that crashes into his life manages to do just the opposite.
Tempest has been lonely all her life. Sure, she had family who adored her, but she had no real friendships to speak of. It wasn’t that she did anything to make herself stand apart, she was just too powerful. The paranormals in her community could feel it rolling off her in waves — especially the children she so wanted to play with. They feared her. Now that she’s an adult she’s decided it’s time to move on. To find the place she can be herself, accepted and not feared. Unfortunately, the place she’s chosen to settle has one thing she didn’t count on. Her mate. And he’s doing everything he can to push her away despite sneaking around her place when he thinks she’s not aware he’s there. It’s fine. She’s used to being ostracized. It’s nothing new, and nothing she can’t handle. She doesn’t need him anymore than he needs her. The fact that his friends and family welcome her… well that’s just the icing on the cake. Makes it kinda fun to push his buttons.
Flowing silver hair, emerald green eyes, and more power than any one being has a right to hold within themselves is exactly what fate has planned for Brandt. And he’s not impressed. She doesn’t make him stronger. She doesn’t even soothe him. She drives him to the brink of losing his temper. She torques him intentionally at every turn, and takes pleasure in it! How can the fates have possibly thought sending him this female was the thing he needed most?!

I write Paranormal, SciFi and Fantasy Romance. Why, you may ask? Romance, because who doesn’t love a good romance, and the lack of reality in the story lines - because, well, normal is highly overrated. I’m 55, I have two kids, one 32 and one 12 (yes, God does have a sense of humor), one grandchild, one husband, and a menagerie of animals. Literally, too damn many things that eat wandering around our property. I love to cook, and I am a voracious reader, though since I started writing I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I am a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I started letting them out into the real world and surprisingly, people have loved them. I am a Self-Published Author, and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that naturally flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please be sure to read the warnings supplied with each of the synopses about my books before you buy them. I've got three series published at this time, Avaleigh's Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - a SciFi, and three more in process. I’m a bit sarcastic, scathing actually, and a smartass to boot, so if I offend you, it is most likely not intentional. But be prepared because it probably won’t be the last time. I’m always glad to hear from readers; those who have followed me from the beginning, and those who have just found my people. So feel free to look me up and say hello, or just follow along; either way, I’m glad to have you.

I was so happy to return to this world! Avaleigh's Boys is the first series I read by Sandra Neeley and it's a favorite of mine. This spin-off (The Legacy series) is going to be wonderful! I loved Brandt and Tempest together. They really gave me Delilah vibes. (That will make sense if you read Avaleigh's Boys.) Tempest is more powerful than anyone in the clan, but she is humble with her power. We all think that because she is so powerful, she is very mature. While she is mature in many ways, she is innocent and sensitive in others. I have to say I love how their relationship grows in this story. Brandt is not really one for a relationship, but there's an immediate spark with Tempest. He is a commanding, but compassionate Alpha with his clan. Also, I loved the side stories, especially Bailey and Remi. That will be one to watch. We even get to visit the bayou and Tempest's family. Marrying these two series is seriously a work of art. The ending surprised me and I am hoping we come back to Analise and Havoc very, very soon! 4.5 stars, 3 spicy emojis
This was a sliiiightly random read for me. I got this book as a freebie in the latest Stuff Your Kindle Promo, and since I've liked Neeley's work in the past, I figured I'd give it a shot.
The story is part of a large multi-book world with loads of interconnected characters. Still, I didn't find it too difficult to connect the dots once the story got going.
What I liked: - the novelty of a strong alpha shifter being paired up with an even more powerful mate instead of a powerless human was a fun twist - the family interactions (particularly Maverik) added to the fun - the FMC, Tempest, was a bit of an oddball, which made her more relatable despite her insane powers - the focus wasn't just on the central romance, there were a few side relationships going on that intrigued me (e.g. Bailey and Remi)
What I didn't like: - The characters were fine but the romance itself lacked depth. Everything was very surface level. - Even with the fated mates aspect, the circumstances provided enough tension that there should have been a few more twists and turns. Instead it was mostly bland.
I wanted so much to like this book. The reviews were good. But the writing style gave me whiplash. The point of view changes with every paragraph, some times in the middle of a paragraph. If the story had been told by an omniscient narrator rather than by all the characters it might have been more cohesive. And when I say all the characters, I mean all of them. Minor, major, there were many. I understand back story needs to be told, but not on everyone. And there were hugh info dumps that I couldn’t keep straight if I read and reread it. It was a lot. The story itself really didn't go anywhere. I won't include spoilers but the test of the relationship wasn't big enough for the build up. I can see the creation of some unique characters but I wouldn't be able to handle the ping -ponging point of view ling enough to get through more books like this.
First we had Avaleighs boys, then Rileys Pride, followed up with the babies all grown up, mix in some Whispers and this series surely can't get any better. The intro started with Analise and Havoc and I cried so much reading that, but Brandts story has really ramped up the read. Next it looks to be back to Havoc. Please make it a happy ending for them and quickly kill that b##ch off. She deserves to be frozen by Delilah. Don't make the wait too long. Best series ever 😍
A great start to a next generation. I didn't think that I would like to see two worlds come together, but it was wonderful. I was so into the story I read it in one night. Brandt and Tempest are made for each other. You just have to read their story to understand how great they are for each other. It is always fun too for the families to be along with them. My two favorites from each world are there. I loved it. I can't wait to see what the next generation of Avaleigh's Boy's has in store for us.
I loved Tempest from page one. She is strong and sassy but also kind and loving. Brandt was kind of an alpha-hole to start but he grew on me as the story progressed. There were a couple steamy scenes but this is more plot than spice. I jumped into this universe with this book. It was a little overwhelming figuring out who was who but there is a helpful chart at the beginning. Some day I will go back and read all the previous books and get caught up. I cannot wait to read Havoc’s story so I hope that is next.
I am so happy the have a legacy book and I'm hoping for more! I adored the Avaleigh's boy series and the Whispers from the Bayou series. So, to have the 2 come together is beyond amazing. This book has all my old favorite characters. It's wonderful getting to know how these characters are doing as adults. I don't think you have to read the first 2 series to read this book, but why deprive yourself of great books. Brandt is always so in control, so when fate throws him a curve ball, he not at all happy. WARNING - this book has cursing and sex, so it's best for mature readers.
I’ve stumbled upon this book, and while I’ve enjoyed The Riley’s boys and the Avanleigh series , I truly felt it complements everyone past and future. The kids are grown making new families of their own. The storyline and plot was superbe as always, I enjoy the characters and the fact there’s tabs on everyone. I cannot wait the follow Havoc’s series . I wanna be part of this family, this is how amazing it is. I definitely 💯 recommend this book and the whole series.
The Legacy is amazing! I love being back in these worlds! It’s always a pleasure to see the way the families support each other, and to see what is happening within both generations. I really admire Brandt’s abilities as alpha of the Legacy generation. I’m glad he and Tempest didn’t fight the Mate attraction too long. Brandt and his extended family give Tempest exactly what she needs: acceptance and love. This is just the book you’ve been looking for! I love it!!
I am a huge fan of Sandra and love how she creates her worlds. Super excited that this book bridges two of them. Getting to see Brandt and Tempest come together as the next generation on Avaleighs boys is fun especially seeing how the older crew fits in and welcomes her. My favorite part was when Brandt went to Whispers and met Carnage!! And he threatens him with a certain punishment. 😀
I've been a diehard fan of Sandra R Neeley since the Avaleigh's Boys and Riley's Pride series. This new series with the next generation makes me so happy. I wasn't too happy with the ending of Havoc's story, but I'm so glad to see that it will definitely be continued. Brandt's Rule was fantastic. I was late doing a lot of things because I simply could not put this book down. A fabulous read, hands down.
I've been a diehard fan since Avaleigh's Boys, and Riley's Pride. I'm so happy to be a part of the continuation of this family. I read Havoc's story and was disappointed in the ending. But, now I see that I'm in store for another "can't put it down" read. I can't wait!!!
This was a good story. I have to say that I got real tired of constantly having the background of every character retold. Great. They are family. Please don’t feel the need to literally spend 10 pages in a row going over each person’s history or new status. It slowed down the plot of this book. Otherwise, a good book.
I really enjoyed being in this world again. I absolutely lived Aveleigh's Boys series so it's fun to continue to the kids. I'm grateful for the character index at the beginning because there are so many. I can't wait for the next one.
What a story it was a marriage of three of my favorite Series and it was woven together so seamlessly that it made perfect sense. Brandt is a perfect new alpha just like we always knew he would be and Tempest has finally found somewhere she truly belongs and we got to see Carnage ,Destroy,Carrick and Lily Finally we are set up for Annalise and Havoc
I really loved reading this book!! The story is so well written. I loved Brandt and Tempest from the start! And I also got to connect with some familiar characters! It was like I was at home visiting family!
Loved getting the new generation’s story. Getting two of my favorite paranormal series combined (Whispers of The Bayou and Averleigh’s Boys). I loved Brandt and Tempest love story. I look forward to more.
Throughly enjoyed this book. It’s definitely a keeper. Avaleigh’s Boys has always been a favorite of mine and this new generation promises to be just as good. Can’t wait for the next installment!
This is the Sandra R Neely book that I never knew I needed ! I was giddy when I realized it was a crossover. This was so good, just need MORE. Especially a Boon story !
Is a bear shifter and next alpha. But has found his mate in a young silver haired women with a pass tied to Maverick. But Temp has her own problems from her pass. As they find there happy ending.
I was already an obsessed fan of Avaleigh’s Boys and Riley's Pride and now I can add The Legacy Clan to my list. I'm impatiently waiting on the next book. Loved seeing the interaction between two other series! Loved all of it!
I loved this book. Well written and all of characters flowing from past to present done seamlessly. Fast paced, page turner with much anticipation for the next. Happy Reading 📚
I love Sandra Neeley, this book is the next generation of a great series. One of my favorites authors. This book combines two of her series and she has tied them together flawlessly. Don't miss this one its a wonderful read.
If you like paranormal romance, this book is great. It's a page turner, so once you start reading you won't put it down. Interesting characters, romance, and a happily ever after.
Wow such a great story! Loved Tempest! Love just saying the word and her background is so interesting.. going on to the next story. Can’t wait to read that one. Hoping it’s as good as this one.m
Amazing story with fantastic characters whose story drags you completely in with its lineage and variety of paranormal, witty banter and sizzling chemistry. Can't wait to read more of this author.
This story was so entertaining, exciting and just WOW!!. Sandra is a PHENOMENAL storyteller and writer!!. I was so excited to see a new story from her with the same characters only older now with their own children and mate's.
