Summon lady luck from her mystical waters in Ireland and change her fortune, of course.
Juliet is a brand new cupid trying to navigate love for herself and others. The only issue is she sucks at being a cupid. With her newly acquired lucky shamrock on her side, things finally start to turn around for the cupid.
Her arrows are hitting their targets. She’s making love matches, but more importantly, she’s falling for the mysterious reaper named Mors. What started as a blind date quickly turns into a whirlwind romance between the cupid and reaper. With newfound romance in her life, and figuring out who she is, life couldn’t get any better.
Sarah Blue is a USA Today best-selling author of paranormal, omegaverse, and contemporary romance. When she isn’t writing you can find her nose buried in a book or picking up a new craft she probably won't finish. She lives in Maryland with her husband, children, and two cats.
juliet is a down-on-her-luck cupid new to the job. when she asks her friend love, a more experienced cupid for help, love takes that very seriously. she sends juliet off to meet lady luck and then sets her up with a reaper, mors. when the two of them meet at a party, and the two of them start up a whirlwind romance. but juliet still doesn’t believe in herself and thinks it’s all because of the lucky shamrock.
like I said this was cute. it was such a fun read for upcoming st. paddy’s day and I loved mors and juliet! it’s fast paced and had me giggling and kicking my feet.
thank you sarah and fated promos for an arc! it comes out on 3/10!
tropes & things ✨ sapphic romance ✨ cupid x reaper ✨ opposites attract ✨ blind dates and nosy friends ✨ low stakes novellas
3.5 stars This was cute enough and I appreciated that FF rep. The characters had good chemistry and solid friends. Eros is, shocker, the villain of the story again. Mors was grumpy and caring, and Juliet was insecure AF and also a recent Cupid. They balanced each other out. I felt like the love story was kinda rushed at times, but that’s probs also a side effect of being a novella.
Spice: 3.5/5
Triggers: death and dying, violence (short lived), mention of a book that promotes eugenics (book itself is not portrayed positively)
3.75 ⭐️ Cupid x Reaper fall in love St Patrick's Day!
This series is so fluffy and cute, I can't get enough. We meet Juliet, our FMC, during book 1, and although she wasn't really a character that drew my attention in any special way, she definitely deserved book 2 just for herself. Mors, however... She was clamouring for this book to be hers and she gets everything she wanted!
This novella went by even faster than Stupid Cupid did. These books are so short, and although I can admit to liking the last book more than this one, the whole FF Paranormal St Patrick's theme really reeled me in. I loved that the only reason why there was even a sliver of time when Mors and Juliet weren't into each other was because Love was trying to pump the brakes for them. This is extremely instalust and instalove, so if those aren't for you beware.
Also, Eros makes an appearance and he is, still, a massive d!ck. Idk if we'll get a book for him or not. Maybe? A ghost's book? I don't even know if I find him redeemable enough to stomach him as an MC, tbh. I would, however, love a Cupio book!
🌶🌶🌶 / 5 - The spice is both mostly cute and praise-filled, with bondage sprinkled on top.
I devoured Petty Cupid and turned around and DEVOURED Lucky Cupid! I absolutely love Juliet and Mors. I love a good sapphic romance and Sarah never disappoints. It was quick and spicy and super fun to read.
Premise: Juliet is a new cupid who is insecure about her abilities (but in an endearing way), and Mors is a lonely (but kick ass) reaper who wants a cupid of her own to love. Luckily Love (the Elle Woods-esque cupid from the first book) is there to play matchmaker.
I was in the mood for cuteness overload, and this series where cupids and reapers find themselves in various opposites attract situations was on the money. The crush that Juliet and Mors had on each other was so frickin’ adorable, I was vibrating from the cuteness. Full disclosure - the relationship is not that deep, but I also wasn’t expecting it to be since it’s a sweet and steamy novella.
I loved this novella, I need more in this world from Sarah Blue, I need every holiday with the cupids and reapers, I hope Gloom gets a novella because he deserves to find a hot cupid man!!!
Mors and Juliet were perfect for each other, no lady luck needed, their connection was instant, the way Mors always asking Juliet if she is comfortable and make sure she was, was so sweet, also Mors dirty talk is top tier!!!!
I really loved this book, it was short and sweet, and the perfect St. Patrick's Day novella. This follows Juilet and Mors, who were featured in the first novella, and their story on how they found love.
Loved Hades and his antics. Definitely reminds me of some furry gremlins I have at my own house.
Overall, if you're looking for something short to read in an afternoon/evening that is cute and spicy, this is your pick!
☘️5. I. Loved. This. SO. MUCH. For such a short little novella, it sure brings everything I want. I am in LOVE with this world (pun very much intended). I want more (or Mors) (okay, I'm done with the puns). Juliette and Mors were love at first mention, and a cupid match indeed. ❤️
This one was so cute! I’ve been loving this Cupid series and this one doesn’t disappoint. Mors deserved to have her happily ever after with a sweet Cupid of her own. Juliet had been through more than enough with all of the Eros drama. The way that Mors built up Juliet’s confidence and helped her believe in herself was beautiful. I loved their relationship and how sweet they were together. And she’s a little spicy too! I can’t wait to read more in this series! I think the head Cupid needs his own book too… ;)
Thanks so much to Fated Promos and Sarah for the ARC!
Oh I adored this! I LOVED petty Cupid and this was just as good! I loved seeing the same characters and getting to know them better! Juliet and Loves friendship was so cute as was Mors, Death Doom and Glooms friendship! I need everyone’s love story rn!! Mors and Juliet’s story was so cute and I loved how patient and timid Mors was! This was a quick, sweet, spicy and funny read! Cannot wait for more from this world!
What a great sequel to Petty Cupid! I love the world Sarah has built and her characters. She makes dynamic characters I love to read about and 'villains' I love to hate. Can't wait for the third one.
Thank you so much for the arc of Lucky Cupid, Sarah!
This was such a cute and adorable novella! The pacing is fast, but I didn’t mind it one bit- I had a wonderful time reading this. It’s fun and it had me giggling and kicking my feet!
Juliet is new to the job as a Cupid and is struggling to find her way. She’s also very insecure and trying to navigate her own love life, without any luck. She asks Love for guidance being a Cupid, which she takes very seriously, and Juliet finds herself in Ireland to meet Lady Luck, then is set up with a grumpy but caring reaper named Mors. From then on, it’s a whirlwind of a romance between them- I loved them! They made sense and balanced each other out.
Quick, sweet and cozy reading. Low drama, lots of smut and fun. But the 1st book I liked more. Mors and Juliette are a beautiful couple, perfectly balancing each other. We also got here a three-legged hellcat named Hades, who is such a troublemaker 😁 P.S. I hope the next couple will be Gloom&Cupio
🍀 St. Patrick's vibes 🍀 sexual awakening 🍀 pleasure domme 🍀 toys
This was short and sweet, but didn’t have quite the oomph that I was looking for. It was insta love with almost zero relationship building. The plot was so so and didn’t draw me in.
Still a cute, fun, holiday romance and I’ll read the others.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you so much, Sarah Blue!
“None of that is luck, Juliet. That’s all you.”
Lucky Cupid is the second book in the Love in the Veil series. You don't have to read Petty Cupid although it's recommended for a better reading experience (and I encourage you to!).
Juliet is a brand new cupid but she's already dealing with the aftermath of Eros's — yeah, that asshole — rejection and the fact that she's failing as a cupid. Love (from Petty Cupid) has been helping her to navigate this new reality and maybe set her up with a sexy and brooding reaper.
Enters Mors, Death's best friend, who is still waiting for Love to pay her promise to set her up with a cupid. Love, though, is waiting for both Mors and Juliet (who still don't know each other) to be ready.
To make that happen, Love takes Juliet to meet Lady Luck in Ireland. With her lucky shamrock in hand, it's time for Juliet to pursue her happiness.
This novella was just adorable, such an easy and light read. It's fast-paced but it doesn't feel rushed. Juliet and Mors are fire! I have no words for them — just Sarah, please, write more books with sapphic rep 🥵
Love in the Veil is a novella series that follows different paranormal couples finding love after they've passed away and moved on to different places "beyond the veil." There are several different paranormal entities featured throughout these different books: reapers, angels, cupids, ghosts, Krampus, and nymphs. "Lucky Cupid" is a sapphic paranormal romance novella which features Mors (a reaper) and Juliet (a cupid) finding love in a person neither of them expected. The story also takes place around St. Patrick's Day, hence the title. It also features just a tiny bit of luck in the form of a shamrock. These books are quick to read, full of fluff, and tons of smut crammed into a short amount of time. There's really no purpose to them other than to read a silly little story featuring paranormal beings getting their freak on. It helps to read them in some kind of order so that you know who the other characters being talked about are, but it absolutely isn't necessary. They can be read as one offs or out of order should you choose. They end in a happily ever after ... duh. And you can usually get a hint at who the next couple that will be featured is. This novella wasn't my favorite, as I wasn't paying attention that it was a FF novella. In terms of spice, that isn't my preferred sub-genre to read. So, for me personally, this one was only "okay." But don't base whether or not you read this on my personal preferences! This series is one of my favorite guilty pleasures and I enjoy reading them.
EEE after reading Petty Cupid I was ravenous for Lucky Cupid and oooh boy did it deliver!!! I really loved the characters, I really loved the cameos. The spice also did not disappoint 🥵
This book has a special place in my heart too due to it being sapphic. I need more sapphic paranormal romances please!! 💜 This one had me kicking and giggling my feet at work.
Mor. Mor is a cutie sweetie pie and I would die for her. She is my new book girlfriend (bonus: baby boy Hades 🥰). I love how much Mor loves. How Mor saw Juliets wings being out as being proud, rather than a sign of weakness. I love her shadows .. for reasons 🥵
Juliet. I really fell for Juliet more than I thought I would. For a novella, she has a lot of character growth. I feel like I fell in love with Juliet as Mors did. Juliet ended up being so strong and I hope to see more of her throughout the series.
*Characters from Petty Cupid appear in this book, but I think they could be read as stand-alones!
Tropes & themes: FF sapphic romance, St. Patrick’s Day novella, pleasure dom vibes, toys, sexual awakening, shadow play and more!
Spoiler-free summary: Juliet is new to being a Cupid and is having a hard time adjusting to the business. And after Juliet’s awful recent breakup, she could really use a little luck. Cue Operation Lady Luck, her friend’s way of helping Juliet find her confidence and a lil love too. Mors, the reaper has been lonely for a long time, but with a little luck, she might just find a cupid for her own.
Thoughts: I was honored to receive an eARC of Lucky Cupid. This review is honest and freely given.
This was such a cozy, adorable novella! I love the little aspects that made it special to St. Patrick’s Day and as always, it was full of Sarah Blue’s signature humor.
Juliet got the redemption arc and happiness that she deserved and I loved seeing more of Mors the reaper. Their relationship was very sweet and Mors was such a wonderfully supportive partner (with a deliciously dirty mouth).
Definitely recommend this quick read for those that love goofy and sweet paranormal romance and any looking for a lil spicy novella for St. Pat’s!
Feeling festive this St. Patrick’s Day? Well Sarah Blue has a spicy lil novella just for you! Our story revolves around Juliet as she struggles with her duties as a Cupid. When her luck changes and she’s set up with a Reaper named Mors, Juliet is determined to maintain her good fortune. This story has so many relatable and funny moments, not to mention some fun references and of course a healthy splash of spice! I really enjoyed this quick, light hearted read - it was the perfect way to ring in the 17th! Lucky Cupid is the second installment of Sarah’s Love in the Veil series, and while reading them in order is recommended, you don’t necessarily need to read the first book in order to enjoy this one. Although having jumped in with book two, I’m absolutely going back to read Petty Cupid ASAP because Love and Death are adorable!! Thank you so much Fated Promos for this ARC!
These two were introduced as side characters in the first book. We get to know them better in this book as they take center stage. Mors is a lonely reaper who works with Death. She is jealous of the relationship he has with Love. She wants cupid of her own.
Juliet is a shy, new cupid who now works with Love. She wants to fit in but feels like a failure, both in work and in love. We've all been there, and it doesn't feel good at all. This story is a F/F romance with spice. There are a few interestingly spicy bits in this story. The two main characters are so good together but are so into their own heads that they get in their own way. I read it quickly after finishing the first book. This is such a fun series.
4- ⭐️ 3- 🌶️ I’m so obsessed with Sarahs Holiday novellas!
*Its Recommended you read Petty Cupid before Lucky Cupid to have full background on the side characters in this novella*
•“Show me how good you can be, Juliet. Come for me, sweet cupid.”•
Juliet is a new cupid fresh out of a BAD relationship, her new friend Love is trying to help her grow into her position. Juliet has lots of doubts about herself and her title as a Cupid.
Moris is a lonely Raper and finds herself waiting for Love to fulfill a promise and find her a match, shes gloomy but full of sweet and kind words for someone so dark and feared.
Love takes Juliet to Ireland to meet Lady Luck, and she finds herself with the power of her magical four leaf clover soaring in all aspects of life.
This is a quick spicy read, there is so much world building between the two novellas and this one keeps you so immersed in this fantasy viel of beings.
Okay I loved both of these characters. Both are looking for love & aren’t sure they’re ever going to find it. But gotta hand it to Love, she knows what she’s doing. But better watch out, cause she won’t hesitate to pinch you 😂 I enjoyed seeing Love & Death in this book and while reading Petty Cupid wasn’t required, it makes this novella better if you do. I loved watching Juliet become more confident in herself & loved her meeting Hades. We all can agree that sometimes it’s really hard to get over the self doubt.
This was such a fun St. Paddy’s day themed novella! ☘️ 🌈🍀 Cannot wait for more of Love’s matches. The only question is, who will be next?!
I adored Petty Cupid (Love & Daddy Death are literally everything), so I knew Lucky Cupid (Juliet & Mors) would also be perfection—I was indeed CORRECT!
This was a short (<150 pages) and spicy, SAPPHIC (obsessed) novella that will absolutely make you *feel things*. Not only was it spicy (hello toys and shadows) but it was also freaking adorable and cozy watching these two find their person & grow in their relationship.
Plus, Love playing matchmaker between her new cupid and reaper friends was everything. I could NOT stop laughing (completely unsurprised because Sarah Blue is funny AF always). There were so many perfectly timed references and quips that had me in stitches.
• So I didn't love this like I did the first book but it was still entertaining! This story follows Mors & Juliet (which is FF)) & was SUPER entertaining with PLENTY of spice 🥵. I didn't really connect with the characters too well, Juliet was very insecure and struggled with that throughout the book, and it was definitely insta lust, which I get that this is the theme of these books but she wrote it better in book one I feel like! For only 120 pages this is definitely worth a read to check out to go along with the St. Patty's day vibes in March! 🍀
I think Mors is awesome but so not ready to meet her match until she gets her stuff ready. Juliet needs to feel like herself. She needs confidence, strength, happiness and great self-esteem. However all she really has is self doubt until Love takes her to get some Luck. However all it is just a ride into funky town…
