Let me just make few bullet points about the contents of this book: -the main idea about this book was minimalism. How to avoid non-beneficial costs. -author briefly mentions that Mongolians nomads are minimalist because they move around a lot. That is why they have gotten rid of unnecessary stuff. -there was brief section where author mentions how terrible Mongolia is. Poor development, poor education, poor safety for foreigners and stuff. Tazaki Masami claims to know a lot about Mongolia because he was a professor at Mongolian National University.
-last big chunk of the book suddenly turns into a self help book. (it talks about how to social network: expanding scope vs. going deep in relationship with people. It talks about how to manage your time efficiently. It talks about getting tasks done with discipline rather than passion. It talks about the importance of assigning work to others rather than doing them all by yourself. Last but not least it said be open to innovation).
This book has been recommended to me by my supervisor.
IBM was sold to Lenovo? That was an interesting piece of information I didn't have before.
