FatedVerse #3

Believe it or Knot

Rate this book
What’s a beta to do when her celebrity crush shows up on her front steps?

Between a mountain of debt that isn’t mine, a threatening pack of asshole alphas that won’t take no for an answer, and a restaurant that has never been my dream, I’m barely hanging on to my sanity. You’d never know by looking at me, though.

I’m a pro at pretending, pasting a smile on my face and telling everyone I’m fine.

When a breakdown on the side of the road brings America’s sweetheart omega to my front door, things get… weird. Liam Cordova—singer, songwriter, actor, model—makes himself at home in my tiny cabin for the night, whispering sweet words in my ear.

That’s not even the weirdest part. The weirdest part is that he seems to want to date me and so do his pack members. But that can’t possibly be right. I’m a small-town girl who flips burgers for a living. I can’t belong to a famous billionaire pack.

When my best friend, Gage, returns home from overseas, things get even more complicated. After years of being only friends, he looks at me with heat in his eyes and possession in his hands.

As the Cordova pack tries to convince me to give them a shot, Gage sets about laying his claim on me. What’s a beta like me to do? Do I trust that I can find my place with the most famous pack in the world? Should I risk years of friendship with Gage?

I better figure it out quick, because, believe it or not, they all want to keep me.

Believe it or Knot is a 146k+, why choose? novel, set in the Omegaverse. The FMC is a sweet beta. The alphas are protective and caring. It is a stand alone and has a guaranteed HEA.

This is the third book of the FatedVerse Series, but can be read on its own. However, you do meet characters first established in Knot Here for You and Knot Your Average Beta, and might enjoy this story more if you read them first.

grovelling where?

I think this is the worst case of the FMC not standing her ground and making the MMCs work for it. Even in an omega verse novel. She was treated horribly and the makeup was maybe 10 pages if that. I had a hard time respecting every single character because of this.

I’m so angry.

1. Sorrel’s insecurities were very hard to read. It wasn’t even that she had them, who doesn’t? It’s that she made no effort at building herself up, of correcting her warped view of herself. I understood she had them but I really needed her to stiffen her spine. To COMMUNICATE when she something was bothering her.

2. The amount of miscommunication in this book is staggering. they talk like everyone can read everyone’s mind. If the person you like hurts you, SPEAK THE FUCK UP.

3. I’m so fucking disappointed in the nosedive Gage’s character took. Out of everyone he should have been there for Sorrel. But the fact that the author wrote him to hurt Sorrel, not once but THREE fucking times? Nah that’s not her best friend. It’s giving if I can’t have you no one can

4. Cordova pack (I think that’s how it’s spelled?) which when you think about it sounds and looks like cadaver lol. Anyhoo. Somehow there are these micro-aggressive statements they make that CLEARLY hurts Sorrel that they’re clueless. Like they can’t read the room. Or even see how stupid their statements are? Ummm wtf? Like the comment Liam made about flipping burgers not being rocket science. Um sir! Thennnn Gray opened his dirty mouth to say “are you sure you’re not an omega?” In the middle of an intimate moment. THE FUCK? Like clearly she’s not.

There are so many things that I read in this book that are HUGE red flags & im high key side-eyeing the author bc there’s no way Ms Ma’am is not aware of what she wrote and the impact it has. Looking at you ma’am bc if you hate women just say so.

Thennnn to read the comments and find out they did something and there was little to no grovel? Yeah no.

Sorrel was seriously the best! Loved the pack too even through their knothead behaviour 🤣🤣. I’m sad this series is over because these books were awesome.

Frustrating ending

Seriously. What the ever flying heck was that grovel? Like, literally they did everything the exact opposite as they should and then it was like, lol shrug. In no way shape or form did they deserve her forgiveness.

DNF @ 37%.

Compared to the previous book there's nothing really happening. It was cute how Liam and Rafe stayed over and searching for the mystery girl. Liam screwed up with the burger flipping comment and the guys pretty much took control of her life, beating the debt holding pack up, because that's not going to come back and bite her. Not to mention the assistant hating her on site and no one noticing.

What ruined this one for me was Gage, the best friend. It was a bit huh, when he said he'd gone off to the army to find a pack for her, yet gets his knickers in a twist when there is a pack flirting with her. His high and mighty attitude grated on me, same as the whole golden boy thing. But calling her a whore and then the two of them admitting feelings and getting it on... I'm dreading what else she's going to allow. Seems pretty toxic. I'm calling it quits here.

I love this series, the first two books are definitely five stars and even though I am giving this book less stars I would still recommend finishing the series. That said I did not like Gage for one of her mates and I agree there wasn’t enough groveling. But back to Gage who has strung her along and even dated other people while forcing her to hang out with him and his girlfriends. Never telling her how he feels then disappears for basically seven years and then comes back and starts acting like he had a right to her without even telling her. I could have done without him in the book and I would have given it five stars. Even the groveling I would have gotten past but I am having a hard time getting past him and how he has treated her.

meh

This was such a strange book. The beginning was so strong and it really had me addicted, and I just kept reading and reading, but oh my goodness, at the end it was just over there was no grovelling everything was forgiven. I have to be honest the author did a really great job of showing us that these MNCs are not good for a female main character. I have no idea how they all stayed together. I’m actually just in shock. This was even the ending of the book for something that was written so well, the storyline itself was just not it.

Um.. I think this book is a little too repetitive for me. Halfway through the book and the beta FMC still thinks they're not serious about her and what's with the "secrecy" about her songwriting side gig? This book could have easily been 1/2 the length if the MCs just learned to communicate!

DNF at 33%. This was a tiresome read. I can handle reading about an insecure character, but Sorrel’s inner dialogue was very repetitive and boring.

There’s no real explanation for why Sorrel can’t believe anyone would be interested in being in a relationship with her, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

She ends up coming across as incredibly bland. Now I can’t believe anyone would want to date her, either.

This book was close to be amazing and it kept missing the mark by a little bit. Sorrel is frustrating at times because she doesn’t really know what she wants and she is incredibly obtuse. The ending is frustrating because Sorrel says she doesn’t think she wants to be with them and the guys are like “We understand and we will win you back.” And then, in the very same conversation, she’s like “Cool, let’s bond and all have sex because I do trust you!” So there wasn’t any winning back. And I’m genuinely confused why Apex would kidnap Sorrel. Oh, and Gage is an asshole.

But, I did read this in one sitting and couldn’t put it down, so I did enjoy the experience. I just probably won’t revisit this one.

Divided

Did I like the very ending? Yes. Did I consider throwing my phone in the previous chapter and risking it breaking because the lead character is a doormat and none of the alpha accept any boundary she places at any point in this book? Also yes.

From a technical perspective not getting into the opinion part the first quarter of the book is riddled with typos. And I'd have knocked a star for that alone because I firmly believe good editing is important before releasing a book. And yes I know I normally have typos in my opinions but nobody is paying to read my opinions. They aren't a product I'm marketing. They're me venting or gushing over the story I just read.

On an opinion standpoint, these characters manipulated her way into her life, steamrolling over ever request and boundary she made. Telling her she'd get used to it whenever she expressed discomfort in something they did rather than considering her opinions and feelings were of value. They at points call her a whole, accuse her of theft, manipulation and numerous other things. They destroyed her anonymity, her home, her business, her reputation, abandoned her to death threats, turned her into public enemy number one over something she didn't do and when they realized they were wrong decided to announce in a press conference she was joining her pack instead of actually asking her. In fact she told them she didn't want to be with them and they refused to let her leave. And somehow even when she gets angry and even attempts to stand up for herself the steamroll right over it and ignore her. At one point she even blames herself which they allow because it further their cause. Oh and she forgives them with pretty much little to no acts of redemption from them. While the story has its high points I enjoyed the relationship they portray with Sorrel is downright toxic. And the author doesn't show any real attempts to fix that so yeah no this one wasn't for me at all.

Few things.

1. THIS IS NOT A STANDALONE. It almost was. But you cannot have a standalone that requires information from previous books to understand the plot. I hated this climax for that reason alone.

2. Sorrel sucks. She just sucks. There was no growth in her character, in her self esteem, in anything. Now normally this doesn't bug me, because I also have low self esteem and felt myself in a lot of her thought processes. But the mental gymnastics she has to regularly do instead of just talking to the Pack or Gage is utterly ridiculous.

3. They all suck. Every single one of them. That groveling? Are you kidding me? That was not a grovel. It was a sad excuse for miscommunication and their own insecurities. But the thing that made me the most mad was when they continually did things after her kidnapping to show they don't care about her. Announcing it on a live interview instead of telling her. Choosing to go as a Pack to the interview and reveal all the things Apex was doing. Absolutely ridiculous. She's either your first priority and have her best interests at heart or you don't. And they made their choice pretty clear.

In conclusion, I hate them all, but only from the third act breakup onwards.

Difficult Read

This book gave me so many mixed feelings. It started off so well. I was excited to get into the plot and the characters grew on me quickly. But, the constant self deprecation Sorrel does drove me crazy. It hit a point of being crazy and she really was getting on my nerves. She wanted space but when she got space she started asking why the guys weren't smothering her with affection. They tell her they are courting her and she still tells herself, "They don't really want me long term." I rolled my eyes so many times while reading this, I had to put it down and take breaks. But other than that, the book was good. It has a solid plot and a HEA. There's some minimal alpha hole behaviour from a particular pack but they get dealt with fairly early so you don't have to suffer through constant cruelty. There's some parts where I was like, "How random, but ok." It didn't hurt the story but it was like a slight detour. LOL! I would recommend with just a few warnings.

This was eye opening

Sorrel was really going through it and i get her feelings! Gage being a jerk was uncalled for but im glad he called her out because she wouldn’t have shown faith in the Cordova Pack willingly! I hate that they didn’t give her a chance to explain. Just immediately assumed the worse and made her worst fears come true! Also honorable mention when the girls were rescued they did the exact thing they said they were going to do to Sorrel. I would’ve loved if that aspect was acknowledged and apologies were given. Anything could’ve happened between the time they got surrounded by there packs and her walking off. I just feel that was a missed opportunity but nonetheless sorrel got her HEA and the pack of her dreams! Gage and Sorrel reunited! Liam is a sweetheart and his faith in Sorell never failed. Gary needs work on his trust and so does Rafe but everything came full circle. I really enjoyed this book!

4⭐️ loving it that she’s a beta.
I was really dissatisfied and disappointed with Gage he called her a whore 2 times and got away with it, extremely annoying that she let him do like that. Her being kidnapped with the other 2 doesn’t make sense it felt more like a last second decision to give the boys a reason to be forgiven. She was not given space or time they disrespected her in so many ways for example conforming that she’s joining the pack without her there or without her consent.

And it’s highly unrealistic that her best friends got kidnapped like we’ve seen in the other books they’ve been kidnapped before you would expect the alphas to make sure they get better security but no.
I don’t remember if the decision was for them to stay in the city permanently but still the disregard for her and her needs when it comes to living situations.

It was a fun read but still annoying sometimes.

Sigh……….immediate forgiveness

Possible Spoilers ahead…

I was actually really into this book until about the last 30 minutes or so. The store was interesting, though her being a song writer or singer is never brought up again aside from small mentions. This FMC I really felt her pain and felt for her, she was easy to feel real emotion for. What really sealed the DNF deal for me was when she decided she wasn’t going to be a doormat and just roll over for anyone anymore after they hurt her she DOES EXACTLY THAT. They do the interview, that she is rightly pissed about, she leaves and then boom they are sleeping together. Also I COULD NOT deal with how much the guys were all about themselves. She asked for space they say “MY alpha needs this”, the amount of “me” and “I” out of these guys had me going crazy.

All in all Sorrel deserved better but if you are fine with the most half@$$ed grovel then I think the rest of the book is really engaging.

Beta leading lady

Believe it or Knot is the third book in this omegaverse series, but I read it first. Oops! I couldn't help it when it came up in my recommend list and I read the description. The fact that the FMC is a beta was what made me want to read it first. And it was a great read!

I love Sorrel and how down to earth she is. The fact that Liam is a star omega and his pack is very protective lets readers know that trust will be a factor for them. It also means that others can abuse that and use it to turn them against someone. Enter the hurt and drama for this story. But it was so well done that I was mad at these book characters, shouting at my tablet. I also teared up and just wanted go see Sorrel get her HEA.

I loved Sorrel's besties so much that I have to go and read their stories now. Book one and two...here I come!

good but needed way more editing (spoilers in review)

I enjoyed the series but the number of typos and grammatical oversights I’m all three books almost deterred me from finishing. In Sorrel’s story I feel like there were unnecessary pages of her insecurity and feelings that could have been filled with a bit more relationship development between Liam and Gage. After the declaration I was disappointed we didn’t get a full heat scene to really hone in on what it was like for Gage to be part of a pack now. I also felt like the end of Apex was a bit anticlimactic. I’m not sure what the point of Sorrel having pocketed the hard drive was if it didn’t have some incriminating evidence that was irrefutable or at least told us who the head honcho was behind it all; maybe bring back some characters from the other books. Overall a good escape read but needed refinement.

A good conclusion to the series!

I may be grading on a curve for this one. I was kind of unimpressed with some of the choices made by the MCs and the underlying dangerous plot was really only addressed towards the end of the book. There was a good action sequence to do with that plot that definitely had me hooked while reading, but wrapped up pretty quickly without much detail.

I do still like the characters overall even though we don’t get much insight into their pasts as is the trend for this author. The relationship was definitely a slow burn with the FMC with a lot uncertainty even when she makes internal POV resolves, the same can be said for the MMCs. Even when things do progress for the pack and things get steamy the writing is fairly soft.

I’m very glad we got this last book in the series, I liked all the FMCs and it was an overall fun series to read!

This book made me cry SO hard, it must be illegal. I think this is gonna be a book I'm going to reread pretty often.

BUT:

Sorrel sometimes is a little too negative, even for a girl who endured so much. It seems like it was forced.
Gage misses entirely a sense in some part of the book. If he loves her so much, WTF why be so mean to her?
The Cordova guys... I liked them, but they blow up thing bad, really bad, and did they get a redeeming act? Not really, I felt like it was all really rushed.
And, in the end, the final chapters. Again, WTF? I felt disappointed.

In the end? 90% of the book is good (but it need an ulterior review, full of typos and error) and the last 10% just "ok, it doesn't make sense"

I liked the story but the characters were insufferable. They were way too selfish both in small things and bigger decisions, even knowing what the rest wanted, each one of them only thought of themselves.

The FMC had me rolling my eyes with how much she changed her mind and the MMCs were a bit too toxic for me.
Again, the story was good, I just feel that the characters didn't do it justice.

so good

Nearly a five star book! If only they wouldn’t have just assumed things about the other. There were some questions- we mentioned Gage’s family hating Sorrel, but we never see them. The Stillwell pack never comes back? Joey never comes back? We hear nothing about why he was trying to call her before she was kidnapped? What about the bad cop? What about the detective? Why didn’t she recognize any of the hotel security? WHY DIDN’T WE SEE HER BOND THE PACK?! Just throw Liam and Gage together at the end and we don’t even get to see anything?!

I hated how badly Sorrel thought about herself - did she ever go to therapy?

I needed more of the good times and less of the bad times? Or just equal amounts?

I’m so conflicted with this rating. I loved the characters and their story for the most part.

Sorrel felt so real and relatable. With all her insecurities and reasons for holding back I was so happy when she finally decided to jump in with the pack.

Liam her sweet, obsessed omega is used to getting what he wants and he’s not going to settle for not getting Sorrel.

Throw Gage into the mix and that’s where things get rocky. He had plans for making Sorrel his when he returns home and those didn’t include the famous pack sniffing around her.

I love that throughout this series we see the relationship between her and her friends, it’s another part of what makes her character so relatable to me.

This had the potential to get 5 stars for me but it killed me that the pack was let off the hook for how they treated her. You’ve got the whole misunderstanding with what Gray hears before their interview causing the third act breakup and Sorrel getting kidnapped a few days later. Still all the guys have to do is proclaim the love for her and it’s all fine and dandy. Ugh.

If you’re someone who likes groveling and the MMCs making up for their wrong doings this might frustrate you too.

I was waiting for this book for so damn long and I kinda feel disappointed, yes it was entertaining to read and all. But Sadie and Sylvie suffer way more than Sorrel in their books, don’t get me wrong I fucking love the angst but really? The entire book was Sorrel with insecurities and then when she gets kidnapped along with Sadie and Vee. Sorrel was the least hurt of them physically in this book. (Yes I am a masoquista, sue me) I wanted grovel from the alphas and the omega, I wanted to see her so angry. But she was a victim and she forgive them kinda easily. The second book will always be my favorite 3.5 rounded to 4 ⭐️

what a fun series!

To be honest, this was my least favorite of the trilogy, but I’m glad I made it through. The first 40% is Sorrel not believing it’s possible, with a LOT of self-reinforcing inner narrative. I really stopped enjoying it. Then the Big Bang, the ferocious fallout, and the action movie moment. It kinda felt like Tana Rose didn’t feel like she could do much character development in the first half of the book, but honestly stuffing all of it into the second half of the book made it less beeline able. But- I did finish it, I did like having the end to the trilogy. And I while I would recommend the other two books more, this one does have its place.

Of all the mmcs in the series… Swift is still my favorite. Gage would’ve been my favorite of this one but smh.

Starting out, I really liked this one. It was refreshing to see the pack being completely obsessed with her as a Beta but her insecurities were driving me up a wall. It just got to a point where she needs to get over herself. She was the same insecure fmc from beginning to end. With that being said, the mmcs were no better. Like do we not know how to communicate?! The whole issue of this book was steaming from lack of communication (some miscommunication but mostly lack of) was so frustrating. And the groveling? Nonexistent.

Sorrel

It’s about time I found a omegaverse with a beta doe the FMC. I’m all for the omega and alphas but felt like most omegaverse the betas are always left out or don’t have much of the story. So as you can imagine coming across this incredible story was amazing.

Not only is this book written so well but the story was everything and more. Entertaining through out, addicting and inspiring.
Can’t express how much I loved this book and the plot. I’m always up for something new and unique. Highly recommend ❤️

The ending was completely rushed and the FMC never articulated just how much they all hurt her. She finally realized that she needed to stand up for herself, and then just… didn’t. So there was no real change on her part. Plus, there was no groveling, which just leads me to think that this relationship was abusive, especially considering that the BFF MMC called her a “whore” and never apologized for it specifically. I will not be reading the rest of the books in this specific standalone/series.

Great finale

I really enjoyed this entire series. It was a rollercoaster for my emotions, and that's exactly the kind of book I was looking for. It had romance, misunderstandings, growly alphaa, an fmc that doubted herself way too much like far too many of us do, a surprise twist and best friend support during heartbreak. The only downside was that it had a few typos and missing words, which were irritating but didn't take away from the story.
