Even with everything she has on her plate, she hasn't been able to forget the man who had entered her life at a very difficult time and had shown her kindness. Rick intends to prove that she is definitely a woman who is ready for love. Ready for Love was a quick, easy novella length read and I really enjoyed it on audio. I loved seeing older, mature characters finding love again after real life experiences like affairs and losing a spouse. It felt grounded, comforting, and genuinely sweet. If you’re in the mood for a second-chance romance with grown adults who have lived, loved, and lost, this one is a solid pick.
Thank you to Harlequin Audio for an ALC in exchange for my honest review.
Barbara met Rick when he was the detective working the case when her husband got shot. She eventually divorced her cheating husband. After a few months, the now retired Rick came to her job to ask her out. He took things slow but they were both very attracted to each other. This was a cute story. I'm glad they both got a second chance at love.
Detective Blair and Barbara's story was touching and beautiful.i Loved how he kept thinking about her after their first meeting. Glad that she moved on from the cheater,Ron. Great read.
This is a enjoyable story with amazing characters that are captivating with a relationship that is entertaining and little drama filled. The couple are a mature couple that has passion for each.I enjoyed this amazing story because the couple found love again and he help to learn to love again. This story will make you cheer for this couple and when they come together it's sweet. There are funny with emotional parts with Barbara's past But through it all Rick show her you can love again. This is a kind of story that make what will happen next a joyous occasion. Which it will keep the pages turning. I wanted more to the ending but you don't always get what you want. I'm looking forward to the next story from this author. This is a amazing romance that I really enjoyed.
I jumped into this one without reading the series first, but I definitely plan to go back and read everything soon. Let me just say… Ron Andrews? Whew, that man is something else the absolute worst type of man to be married to.
And that “advice” Brenda’s mother gave to her and Peggy Yeah… straight to the trash. I swear older women really be encouraging you to stay with a cheating man like it’s a badge of honor. No ma’am.
I’m so glad Brenda chose herself, walked away, and found real happiness. I really like Rick for her he’s a good man with a gentle soul, and after losing his wife in such a tragic way, he deserves a beautiful second chance too.
Barbara's husband Ron was a sorry, cheating piece of work. He cheated on her throughout their entire marriage. He even took his mistress to Hawaii with them. That was the trip for them to repair their relationship! I'm so glad that she divorced him! He got exactly what he deserved! I love that Barbara was able to move n with Rick, a former investigator. Rick showed her what it was like to be cherished and loved! I'm just glad that she finally got her happily ever after! Thank you Soror, for this awesome story of new beginnings! Now on to Peggy's story! 🔥❤
I truly enjoyed this book. I love the maturity of the female and male characters who are the focal point of this new relationship. I appreciate when a writer respects a readers intelligence and gives a storyline of strong women and men deserving of love and not wasting extra pages and drawing out a ridiculous story line just to meet some arbitrary novel requirement.
This books storyline was classy and I enjoyed it immensely! It gives me hope as a widow.
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Barbara was new.y divorced from a womanizing husband, and Rick was a widower and retired police officer. Barbara and Rick both have adult children. This is their journey love and happiness. It nice reading a romance involving mature adults.
Very sad at the start, but became serious and real. Too bad Barb stayed so long in a loveless marriage which included outside affairs. There will always be drama in such affairs, because women are so unprecedentable.
Only hope for love again...this was an amazing story that can give hope to many divorced, widowed even singles that believe in love inspite of their situations in life...lightning can strike twice if in your heart you really believe...great read phenomenal author
I loved and enjoyed reading this story loved the characters too. This was a very enjoyable short read,I would absolutely recommend reading this story you can't go wrong. Good job Ms. Jackson, and thank you.
' True love and romance was / is possible for anyone at any age'..this quote from the book struck an emotional chord with me . Yep Miss Jackson your written word has done it once more!.
From the moment I started reading the book it had my attention. Had I started the book earlier in the day I would have completed it in the same day.i This was a very good read.
Ron put Barbara through twenty years of cheating after she was strong enough to walk away why would he be stupid enough to think she would take him back. Now Rick was an old school gentleman and Barbara was just what he needed.
This was a quick simple read. It wasn't amazing nor was it horrible. I do appreciate the mature adult characters. I'm glad that it skips past her foolishness and dwell on it too much. I don't appreciate weak female characters. So, I'm glad we got her better half when she finally got a backbone.
I am so happy that we finally got a conclusion to what was developing between Barbara and Rick i love that they found each other despite everything love prevailed
I loved this story. I loved how Barbara found love again. I loved how honest and intentional Rick was . I cannot wait to see what Brenda Jackson has up next!!!!!
