A new, well organized, gang is attacking Hybrid settlements in Oregon and Washington.
Brendon O'Neil, the first Hybrid, wanted nothing more than to relax in the comfort of a cabin in the Pacific northwest. Just him and his canine partner Scout. But a maniac named Gabriel Briggman decided that Hybrids could only be safe away from 'Smooths', the NI's (another label for Non Infected by the Heikegani Agent), and decided that the state of Washington was for Hybrids only. Surrounded by Skulls and Goliaths controlled by waves of pheromones given off by the Hybrids. This Oni Agent modified army was used to attack settlements, towns and camps of normal people, driving off or killing the settlers. With the help of a Central American gang called Santos de la Muerte, a new weapon had been developed, somehow grafting poison organs to the claws of Skulls. One cut, even a tiny scratch, resulted in a painful death. An antivenin could save the victims, but there was only one supply - in the heart of a base controlled by Briggman's enemy forces.
Dom and the Hunters are in the middle of the action, fighting to restore a hard fought peace to the Oregon and Washington states overrun by Briggman's forces and the Skulls he controls. The New Eden Brotherhood, or just Brotherhood, they called themselves, and they could be distinguished by the intricate tribal patterns they carved into their bony growths, like tattoos. In addition to the devastating attacks on settlements around the Pacific northwest, the Brotherhood intercepted food and supply shipments creating shortages across the Country trying to climb out of the chaos left by the Oni Agent and its victims. Dom and the Hunters are spread thin trying to restore order, but they'll keep fighting to the very end!
Amazing great characters lead the fights in the midst of chaos! The biggest problem I had reading this was trying to find a lull in the intense action where I could grab a short sleep before jumping back into the blood and bone chips flying everwhere! This addition to the Hunters' saga is really hard to put down. This is an amazing read!
