So now I’m on the run from his maniacal successor, with a critically wounded vampire prince who needs feeding and the maid who loves him at my side.
And I thought the Harvest Games were bad…
To make matters infinitely worse, I’m pretty much obsessed with the General of the Vampire Army, who—spoiler alert—has been tasked with leading the hunting party sent to kill me and my not-so-merry band of misfits. The only chance we have of getting through this mess alive is to throw ourselves at the mercy of the neighboring werewolves and hope they don’t rip us to shreds. They are the key to defeating the newly crowned “King” Edmund and saving the Vampire Kingdom from a return to the old days. Days filled with unchecked cruelty, torture, and mayhem.
It would take a little cunning and loads of audacity to even attempt to negotiate an alliance between two species that have been warring for centuries.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I was born into a family of Star Wars nuts. I have a lot of siblings (somewhere I lost count but I think there was more than could be numbered on one hand) and being one of the young padawans I was subjected to Star Wars marathons, on a regular basis. If you've read any of my books you'll see there is often a reference to said movies as a small homage to my upbringing. May the force be with you and all that jazz.
I started writing when I realized I didn't want to grow up not believing in magic, or not believing in creatures everyone else said didn't exist. That being said, I have never seen a fairy, unicorn or dragon. I had a neighbour who swore they fed the leprechauns in their garden, but I never caught the little buggers no matter how long I lay in wait. (And consequently had to help the neighbours plant new flowers to replace those I killed waiting for the leprechauns to show their faces.)
Along the way, I found my husband who is the rock that keeps me from floating away into my dreams, and we have a little boy who is the centre of our world. Living on a farm keeps us busy (as if the writing wasn't enough) and I have more than my share of stories about wrestling with cows, helping birth calves and ending up in the creek during the process, falling in the mud (we'll call it mud but we all know that on a farm, mud is rarely mud) and chasing escaped livestock in the hopes the four legged convicts don't make it to the highway.
I've taken up archery, and the goal is to move into horseback archery in time (you know, when I can hit the target on a consistent basis) and when no one is looking, I love to bake (this doesn't happen often as it's hard to keep the sweet treats in stock with two boys in the house.)
As to what's coming next for me? More stories (since those never stop inside my head, I might as well share them with all of you!) and more adventures. Pretty much, when the fancy strikes, I'll jump on it. Leap before you look I'm sure that motto was created for me.
Or was that . . . think big and dream bigger, ready, set, pull the trigger . . . yeah. That one is a good one too. But only if you have a gun. And are hunting elephants. Which is not cool because of so many reasons. Let's stick with the first one with an addendum.
Leap before you look and let your dreams carry you on their wings. And that, my friends, is me in a nutshell.
This book was still good, and I read it super fast, but there are a few questions that I really need answers for at this point. I wish we knew a bit more about what Sienna's life in the human world was like, who Jordan is to her, what happened in her early life that was so traumatic, etc. Her life keeps being referenced but we have gotten zero explanation (was she a stripper? did her parents die in some accident? Jordan and her lived together place to place?). Also, I was confused whether Jordan is supposed to be her best friend around her age or like a little brother figure because he seemed to act and be treated like a 5-year-old and they kept calling him "the boy," but then Dominic was super jealous when Sienna kissed his cheek?
I still love Dominic, Will, the Duchess, and Lochlin. Bee was kinda a bee (bitch) in this book, and I don't really like her anymore. Green is not a cute color on you, Bee. Diana was an interesting character--I haven't made up my mind about her. I was not surprised at all about the betrayer; that betrayal was obviously coming. I was annoyed throughout their entire plot planning meetings because their plan was obviously not going to work, and as the reader, it was frustrating to read long paragraphs of plotting a stupid plan.
I'm a little annoyed that we are 2 books into this series and still not any closer to finding out what Sienna is or what exactly the extent of her powers are. The Duchess said in the 1st book that she knew what Sienna is, so why don't they just ask her for answers instead of going through this charade with the oracle? Also, are we ever going to learn Sienna's real name? I'm just getting impatient and we need some answers before the author starts opening up more questions.
I will continue this series because I really like the world and the main couple, but I need some answers to things that have been danced around throughout books 1 and 2. I'm worried that the author has forgotten some of the plot points or background that she referenced early on that she has yet to answer/elaborate on.
Sienna was pushing my buttons through some of this read. Not gonna lie. The constant state of not knowing what she is, is also an issue for me. I mean by book 2 we should have answers. We do not.
That being said….it was a good read with excitement and some heart break. With an ending leaving me wondering how the series will wrap up.
Ok, so I thought book one was OK. It gave a good background on Sienna, how she got to the vamp lands, what her purpose was, and an intro to her weird powers and connection to The General. We got a good insight into Dominic’s motivations and duty, his reasoning behind steering clear of Sienna, and his love for his country and brother.
Skip to book two. There’s a weird opening “prologue” that vaguely connects to one phrase the Duchess uses in book one, but from there, things go off the rails. Sienna and Dominic really don’t have much interaction in book 1, so there is a bunch of misunderstanding/miscommunication and very little talking between the two characters. As the book progresses, there is this unspoken devotion and love that is supposed to have developed between Sienna and Dominic that is just not believable, seeing as they spend most of the two books apart and never talking to each other.
There is also a bunch of unexplained “knowledge?” about Siennas powers and her purpose, but again, there is little foreshadowing to tie these discoveries to, making things feel disjointed and contrived.
The relationship between Sienna and Jordan (who apparently got kicked in the head by a horse or something equivalent?) and Bee (who is best friends with Sienna after being her maid but then wants nothing to do with her?) are very confusing and hot/cold.
Overall, I think the author didn’t know where to take the book after the first one, and doesn’t have a clear idea of where the story is going.
DNF at 87% after ANOTHER unexplained “plot twist” is thrown in. I don’t plan to read the next book in the series.
I know we’re always talking about our book boyfriends, but you ever get hooked on an amazing leading lady? I certainly have a decent list of my favorites and I’m absolutely adding Sienna to it! @ Alpha Territories series sucked me in with the first chapter and I’ve been clamoring for more ever since!
Hunted By Fate is book two and we pick up right where we left off … knee deep in snow and a giant pile of trouble! Sienna is on the run with one wounded vampire in tow, a murderous vampire on her heels, and the vampire who stole her heart stuck with the enemy.
So where does she turn? To the werewolves! And if she doesn’t have enough to juggle, she’s still trying to track down her brother while uncovering some truths about herself. Certainly no shortage of stuff on her plate and in spite of it all, Sienna is fierce, witty, compassionate, smart, and loyal. See, definite top leading lady material!!
But let’s not forget about our favorite vamp, Dominic, aka The General. He’s in an impossible position between family and the woman he’s not supposed to care for. Some of my favorite scenes were of him and Sienna, especially because we finally got some awesome steam in this book!
There was no shortage of intriguing revelations in this book, which adds more to my list of questions. But that ending … let the countdown to book three begin 😏
I'm absolutely loving this series! So much more to the story has been uncovered in this book. Secrets are divulged, plans have been made... but just who and what is Sienna!
It's left on a cliffhanger and I'm so eager to jump right into the next installment!
This book isn't a standalone, and continues on nicely from the previous book.
I love that we learnt more about the werewolves in the book. Alliances have been formed and wheels are set in motion... or are they! Not everything is as it seems.
This book has spicy, steamy scenes, the connection between Dominic and Sienna is magnetic! I can't wait for more! As I need to know whether she will be by his side or are they destined to be apart. Oh and not forgetting a mention to Will the future Vampire King and Bee. I adore those two. I just wish he could see how much Bee loves him!
If you love romantasy books that feature Vamps and werewolves, full of suspense, secrets, a sizzling chemistry, then give this series a try!
(3.5) Took me way longer to read this book Icl and I really enjoyed the first 200 pages so this was anywhere between 3/4 stars for me. I did not enjoy this book as much as the first I feel like this book took a more of an informal/watt pad feel at some parts which I didn’t get in the first book. However I did still enjoy this book so I’m unsure whether to give it 4 stars or stick with 3. The reason it look me so long to read was because of the description of what Edmund did to the maid Dominic walked in on kinda didn’t put a good image in my head so I took a break but that’s just a warning for anyone and it was the only thing that made me actually uncomfortable.
Spoilers here The friendship between Sienna and Bee was a tad annoying but well written if that makes sense? Like I enjoyed reading it I just got frustrated at how jealous Bee got over Sienna and they kept falling out. I love Diana I think she is a queen (get the joke ehehe). I really liked the last line in the book too so I will be reading the next one. Past the 200 page mark I can’t lie I was cringing. Out of all the pet names he could have gave her he chose Starshine? Nah I couldn’t anytime he said it but that’s probably just a preference. We did get smut scenes but it just felt like stress relief sex and not love after claiming they love each other secretly. Then even the time they said she felt loved afterwards we didn’t get detail 👹👹. Another thing I didn’t enjoy about the book after the 200 page mark was how when we was talking to Will and had to announce the fact she is his? Miss sir your brother don’t want her calm down please.
I loved the first book but the 2nd one left me disappointed. I felt rush. It needed proofreading- there were several errors. There are inconsistencies with the first novel. In the first novel, Sienna found Scarlet going through the General’s room and it doesn’t come up at all in the 2nd book, as if it never happened and Sienna is completely surprised by her betrayal. Also, the 2nd book started calling her brother exclusively her friend, even in her private thoughts. I liked the spicy scenes but when it got to a tender loving scene with them she just says they had tender sex and drifted into each others arms. Not even a real fade to black scene. It was odd and felt like an unfinished chapter. The plot was rushed. I wish the author had taken more time with this one.

You know, I love when books start off mediocre and just keeps getting better. Therefore I need the final book to be EPIC. the plot is just 👩🏽🍳💋 it took the plot from the first book and just elevated it 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Did I want to punch Bee at some points? Absolutely 👍🏽 and were there some places I wanted more description or to dive into more detail? Absolutely 👍🏽 but this story had me hooked from beginning to end and Im JONESING for the conclusion in book 3
Another nail-biting entry into this series. I waited until the third book was closer to release so it would be fresher in my mind. I'm so glad I did this. Full of intrigue, suspense, betrayal, and heartbreak, this was a thrilling story and I cannot wait for certain people to get their comeuppance. Recommended!
Thought it was okay but book one was far better imo. Dominic and Sienna spend very little time actually getting to know each other and their bond isn't really explained, they both just kind of accept that the other is it.
Spoilerwarning
What didn't sit right with me though was Siennas relationship with Jordan. Her WHOLE reason she came to the territories was him and she says he is her family....he agrees in words only. Jordan doesn't seem that happy she came to see him. It seems like all he really cares about is his "new" family of kidnappers and Sienna is completely irrelevant to him. Like he missed the alarm and slept through the first meeting he could have had with her alone AFTER they both were captured and he didn't see his supposed family member for months??? Jordan for me just doesn't work as Siennas motivation and that's a problem, because he is her only one.
"BIG Spoiler"
And then he is killed off, because no one paid attention to him wanting to be a hero and we are supposed to believe Sienna is experiencing next level grief...ya I don't know about this.

This got recommended by a few people on Bookstagram. I have really enjoyed this series so far! I read the first three books rather quickly in tandem. The premise was somewhat unique, and I liked the book was well rounded. The world building, plot, and character development were there. The side characters were quirky and added to the story. The chemistry is there between the two main characters. Overall, a really enjoyable series and I cannot wait to see where it goes next.
I technically didn’t finish this. I got 80% through then skimmed another 10% and I just don’t care for where the story is going. If the world building was better maybe I’d care, but I’m not digging this chosen one/fate thing.
Ciao Fenici, dopo tanta attesa possiamo leggere il secondo volume della serie The alpha Territories, Hunted by Fate.
Vi ricordate come ci eravamo lasciati?
Another quick read- but a far better read than book 1. The first book spent too much time on the Harvest Games and Sienna trying to figure everything out…. well, that and the constant frustration Dominic has even thinking of Sienna as his pants seem to be forever tenting without action following.
Thankfully, here in book 2 he gets some (not a lot, but some) so his pants issue is no longer brought up every other page. Geez, that got old fast.
Now that Sienna and her maid Bethany have escaped the vampire castle with a nearly dead Prince Will and are heading to the werewolf territory for sanctuary thing finally pick it up a notch. War plans are made, alliances hesitantly formed, possible betrayal looms and Sienna finds her “little brother” Jordan- her love for this young man being what had her making sure she was captured for the auction pits in the first place.
What is in Sienna’s blood that allows her to heal others rapidly? Is she fully human? Can she trust Dominic not to break her heart now that they have a chance to be together? We already discovered in book 1 she also has a way with animals… are there other abilities in the wings for her to discover?
The plot is focusing still on Sienna’s journey but the upcoming coup is finally on the horizon to remove Edmund the Angry. As such, this part of the story zips by and the author seems freer now that she isn’t world-building so much, to follow the story without forcing the narrative as much.
I wasn’t even sure after finishing book 1 that I wanted to try this one, but the cliffhanger ending had me wanting to at least sneak in a few chapters to see what happens, and then didn’t stop until the end. Now I’m off to book 3 which is supposed to close out this trilogy before book 4 gives us a new couple to follow (I want to say it’s Diana, Queen of the Wolves and Raven, Vampire Lord of Seattle… ) Guess I’ll have that done sometime this evening! See you at the next review.
What a fantastic, pulse pounding sequel to Taken By Fate! It was incredible!
***SPOILER FREE REVIEW***
You have a story about vampires, werewolves, and humans and and tensions are high. Sides are being picked and there are threats of war…..and woven amongst it all is a forbidden love story or two or three!
I absolutely love the main characters and adore all of the supporting ones! I also truly loathe a few of them, too!
The world is mysterious, dark, and full of secrets! Its also in the midst of a snowy winter! Such a beautiful, yet harsh setting!
This narrative has so many amazing tropes and elements such as:
-Morally Grey Characters -Magic -Vampires, Werewolves, and Fae (but Fae are mostly mentioned and not prominent) -Prophecies -Snow -Woods/Forest -Found Family -Multiple POV (Dual POV) -Betrayal -Secrets -Political Intrigue -Forbidden Love -Enemies to Lovers -Animal Companions (horses)
I do want to mention trigger warnings for murder, violence, and assault.
Not only does this have a few tense soldier scenes, and one fairly bigger battle scene, it also has more light hearted moments where you will find yourself smiling because of the humor and witty dialogue. And, of course, there are some extremely steamy/spicy romantic scenes as well!
It is full of twists I didn’t see coming and the ending left me wishing for the next book!
If you enjoy a fast paced, high stakes paranormal romance fantasy, this is definitely one I recommend!
Thank you to Shannon Mayer, Kelly, and Erica for the hardcopy of this sequel in exchange for my honest review.
I am pretty intrigued by MAP of this series, it is described in a very lively way and is the first thing that catches my eye when I start the book. Then the story starts with a very interesting and mysterious PROLOGUE. After that the ending of chapter one had my mind working on different theories and this is just the start of the OCEAN which I have to cover.
As the story progresses I find Chapter 5 to be cracking fire which deepens the mystery and made me more interested to go further. There is so much happening the entire way throughout the book that it is difficult to put it down even for a minute. The story goes on fast-paced and then sh** is getting real, there were so many moments like Kraken, Dominic’s outburst, and the ORACLE that has me saying “Omg, now what??”.
I liked this book even more than the book one. The chemistry is palpable better Dom & Sienna, their ups and downs, the spice, the hatred everything is bang on. Secrets are revealed, strategies are made, and wars are failed but the determination never lacks. The story hurts at many points but there is ample amount of HOPE to get everything right. I loved the writing, it’s simple and hooking.
I literally very much enjoyed this fantasy read and now I’ll be reading book three straight away as it is available to read. See you in that book.
I find it absolutely amazing that the prologue of this book was a portend to the final chapter!! A genius way to show how this wonderful word circles back around!
In this installment we meet up with Sienna as she leaves the vampire territory for wolf territory at breakneck speeds! Of course this is where things begin to go wrong as well. Bloodworms are spreading quicker than the news of King Sterling’s death, can they be outrun?! Even once Sienna, Bee, and Will make it to wolf territory it doesn’t mean they are welcome with open arms. Danger follows Sienna everywhere she goes and this territory is no different. The more Sienna’s life is in danger the more her powers seem to spark leaving everyone, including herself, wondering just what she is. The heartbreak and the betrayal continue for Sienna and for her friends. I love every single one of these characters, but especially Sienna and Bree! I absolutely cannot wait to read the next installment, I am 100% invested!
I've been excited to read the next book in this series; the first was a little mix of historical and vampire romance with some fantasy thrown in and really hooked me on this storyline.
I appreciate the map at the beginning of the book. The prologue starts us in the past with a look at Evangeline and Lycan, the Werewolf King. They have some serious chemistry and a star-crossed lovers' vibe. But they also seem to have a torrid past and a hidden secret.
Dominic, the general of the Vampire territory. This first chapter picks up where we left off with Sienna. Her life has changed drastically until now, and I can't wait to see where this fantasy goes. This book is much more political than the last, with moves, countermoves, planning, and desperate hopes.
Sienna's heritage is still as baffling as before, but new supernatural talents begin to arise. I wonder what paranormal she is and fully what her abilities are. This book almost gives me "Princess Bride" vibes. I know old movie references, but it has the theme of action/adventure, star-crossed lovers, and unrequited love littered thru the storyline. We get future riddles to work out regarding Sienna's ability.
This book takes a turn as things progress; we get a rollercoaster of political and social predicaments. Sienna is different in the last half of this book, becoming more heroic and less weighed down by her feelings and self-imposed responsibilities. Hard truths are delivered, and even with all the plotting, unexpected actions lead this toward something. The book ends with Dominic and Sienna back to being acquaintances rather than lovers. I'm glad the author answered questions about why the Werewolf Queen is essential to the storyline, but this book wasn't as good as the first. Still interested to see what happens next and praying for more info about Sienna and Dominic working out back to lovers, as that was more intriguing than political plotting.
It was fine. I just can’t stand a heroine who is dead set on returning to a life of squalor and scuttling around like a rat.
You’re conversing with royalty on a level of mutual respect! You want for nothing! You have magical powers the likes of which no one, including an Oracle, has ever seen. Why on Earth would you want to return to being a stripper in the slums???!!
Get over yourself and get ready for battle. We’ve got a realm to save, you ungrateful turd.
Her powers are still very abstract, and it’s not in a way where the author is carefully and creatively dropping hints as to what she is.
It seems more like she doesn’t actually know and is just kind of winging it.
The revealed duplicity is incredibly obvious, and everyone’s reactions and actions in general are just so frustratingly divorced from reality.
I guess we need issues in order to have a book, but the problem is when the issue is the book.
