My name is Crystal, but most know me as "Big Red."
I am a walking legend of Wall Street. I am the CEO of Red Tail Investments for Women. I stand for women's investment rights in a world dominated by men. In my Gucci power suit, I've graced the cover of Time Magazine three times and starred in my own reality T.V show. I trade Stocks and Options for a living, becoming a self-made millionaire by the time I reached twenty. I am a damn sexy, smart, powerful, self-made bitch that does not take shit from anyone. Just ask my ten administrative assistants.
But something went very wrong.
On my large birthday bash, a very charming man convinced me to sign the Fairy Godmother Inc. contract. In my drunken, Skinny-Girl-Cosmo haze, I thought this was a brilliant birthday surprise. I was mistaken, and I never make mistakes. Now, I am thrust into a futuristic world where I am a low-class citizen. Even more appalling, we are all competing in a cut-throat, Hunger-Games style competition.
Oh yeah and one more thing.
My God-like trainer is Legolas times twenty. I know what you're thinking, and yes, I've seen him without a shirt on, and ladies, it's a game-changer. Big Red never loses at anything; a happily-ever-after will be mine to win. Or ill cut his you-know-what off.
Big Red is the FMC and she’s stunning, I love her and I think out of the series she shows the most growth. This book in particular is very adventurous and full of action and attraction 😆 and the agent and FmC have the best banter I find myself laughing and smiling so much! It was amazing!
👑Hunger Games Vibes 👑Hot Fey Prince 👑Steamy/Tension🥵 👑Happily Ever After
❤️Summary❤️ Big Red is a force to be reckoned with in the human world…but can she handle being thrown into a world where Elves treat humans like absolute garbage? That’s not even the hardest part of her mission; she has to make the sexy Prince Ajax fall in love with her before time runs out in order to save this world! All while fighting for her life in a cutthroat publicly televised competition!
❤️Review❤️ So freaking good! I could not put this book down! These books are slowly becoming comfort reads for me…one of those books you want to pick up knowing you’ll love it! These books will have you laughing out loud and sitting on the edge of your seat! This book had total Hunger Games vibes and a hot Fey Prince! Make sure you read book one before diving into this one! Highly recommend!
All of my favorite things from the first novel! But with a slight more plot twists, new background, and a redheaded bombshell! I was surprised by the futuristic "elven" race, it was neat! And love them Christmas parties! Great job, and keep 'em coming dear.... *disclaimer: AGAIN not for horror fans!
I do love that this reminds me of hunger games and romance at the deepest level. The plot twists have me on edge on the whole book. The tension is real and so much appreciated ✌️😭❤️
I loved the uniqueness off the story. Not the same ole, same ole of lost princess being found and saving the world. I didn’t like how their love seemed based off of each others looks. It seemed to be the only thing they cared about. Usually there is a lot more to it than that. I also didn’t like how she sometimes talked to the audience. That was weird to me. Also, I HATED how many times the word “B*tch” was used. Good gosh. The first chapter alone probably said it 25 times. I loved the fighting scenes. I do wish it had a little more detail and more world building.
I absolutely love this series and book #2 only elevated from the first! F R. Blacks take on this new world and mission is absolutely engulfing! Red is definitely a sweetheart to be reckoned with. Ajax, the target is a fae prince who needs the push to do what's right for his people. We see returning characters like Pierce and fairy godmother herself as well as a new agent guide! You definitely don't want to miss out on book two of FGI!
Stunning, hilarious, soooo exciting!! Pure action from the beginning until the end. Huge amount of chemistry with open door scenes. I have been screaming, laughing, devouring this story. Loved it. Just as amazing as the first one. It definitely gets a reread.
And when you get to the red-antidote task (when you know you know), make sure to put on ‘holding out for a hero’. I dare to say it matches the atmosphere quite well…
Take everything there is to love from the first book in this series and mash it with the hunger games. This story follows Red on an epic adventure that starts an uprising and could very well end her life. Ajax is the mmc I compare them all to. Red is a strong, badass FMC and Ajax could never let me down.
Fairy Godmother Inc meets the Hunger Games. I do have to say at first I didn’t like the female MC known as Big Red. She was overly arrogant & a bit obnoxious and while running a thriving multimillion dollar corporation still seemed like a party girl with no obligations. But boy did she change once the mission started x she became a total badass.
I can’t get over how this series continues! Big Red was in for a life changing adventure! Ajax swept her off her feet and she never looked back! I love the obstacles they overcame and the crazy race games they had to play. This story made my heart swoon!
I am currently reading the whole series so far this has been my favorite. I love too how the author never makes it feel like it's just repeating it's self in each book. And too top it all off there is spice 🌶🌶🌶
I liked the first book in this series so much so surprised that this one wasn’t for me. Do grown women who meet a very handsome man gush about him every 5 seconds as if they’ve never seen or met an attractive guy before in their lives? Is that a thing? I get annoyed when grown women act like middle schoolers.
I didn’t feel the connection between Red and Ajax and didn’t really get why they were so attracted to each other. The chemistry wasn’t there for this listener and screwing all the time doesn’t equate to love. I also didn’t care for Red. She presented as one thing on Earth (this in control ball buster) but then abruptly seemed to change once she got to the “new world”. I understand that the new world was completely different for her and she probably felt like a fish out of water. But does that really make your entire personality change instantly?
I’ve heard it from a good source (my daughter) that book 3 will be better so I will continue with this series in hopes that I will enjoy the remaining books as much (if not better) than I liked book 1.
Hoping others that read book 2 don’t share my feelings and that it is enjoyable for other readers.
The book was interesting, and Hunger Games-esque, but different enough not to be a knock-off. Red is taken to compete in Fey games on another planet as she tries to get Ajax, the next king to fall in love with her. He lusts for her (they mention her huge boobs a billion times) which turns to love somehow even though a human (Feno, human with Fey powers) and Fey romance is supposedly forbidden by law. Fey feel superior to humans. It’s a whole mess. Red actually has to use 2 of her 3 lifelines to survive, which we didn’t see happen in book 1. It all ends in a HEA. But it was a bit too simple in some regards to create a really compelling story, as there wasn’t a lot of back ground given to build this planet’s world like the first book. Through dialogue you learn about the uprisings caused by Red (here’s your similar to The Hunger Games part), but otherwise the focus is Ajax battling his desire for Red and then eventually trying to find the loophole to be with her. But if you’re looking for fantasy and love and lots of spice, this one is easy and quick.
The main character’s diva portrayal in the beginning is wayyyyyy too stereotypical. The story is far fetched. It’s angsty. Lots of mtv vibes. The writing is immature. Theres a TON of spice. It lacks proofreading. I HATED how many times the word “B*tch” was used. It’s not good for feminism or body positivity….
4 stars might’ve been generous. However, I read this in a day. It’s like eating a Dominos Pizza after a long, disciplined, healthy diet. It tastes too salty & artificial, you’re not sure why you liked it, and yet you went back for seconds. So, yes, I’ll read the next one and reflect on what 3 things I’d change about myself if I had a fairy godmother inc contact in the meantime. Dominos deserves a place in the rotation despite its superficial flavor & sometimes poorly cooked crust.🧚
I'm going to keep this very simple. I struggled to put this book down even more than the first one! At first I didn't think I was going to like or connect to the main female character "Red" but she turned out to be amazing! I've read other "fairytale" like stories in the last but this author did a phenomenal job with this series. I'm now on book 3 and leaving these reviews for books 1 and 2 because I give this series so far a 10/10 with how much fun they are to read and how many nights in a row I've been telling myself "just one more chapter" only for it to be 1am and I have to go to bed for work in the morning! SO GOOD!
My First book by this author, was picked by my book club. Overall the idea of the story itself is very interesting, but unfortunately, I didn't connect to the writing style at all. The characters felt very flat, and the pacing was weird to me. Also and maybe it's just a me thing but this book felt very juvenile even though the characters should be in their late 20's at least 🤷♀️
Black nails it again with another phenomenal FGI book. I really love the character development, the grit, and the edge of your seat storytelling. A definite need to read!
Red has to go to a different planet to make its prince fall in love with her to save the planet. While she’s there she has to compete in the hunger games and the prince is her coach?! Wild but so good!
Wow... i thought i was kinda over just basic mf romance novels but this is an amazing blend of action world building and character development. The author is extraordinary. How is this woman not a bestselling author? If you like Emily Mcintires never after series this is different and sooo much better!
The Elven Crown raises the bar. A lot more character development than book 1! If you like your fantasy with high romance, dramatic tension, and magic-fueled trials, this is one you won’t want to put down!
I love this series, the way it plays out like a movie and connects to modem life with references. It’s so funny and I love the characters every time. If I didn’t work, I’d have finished it in one sitting :)
I thought the first book in this series, Heir of the Beast was wonderful. Yes, cheesy— but also so much fun. This one, however, fell flat. Plot holes, weird pacing, and the most annoying FMC I’ve ever read.
This book was absolutely AMAZING!!! Even with all the fairy and fae books trending right now, this gives off something completely different. Spice level is way beyond ACOTAR. The characters are well developed with a pot that kept me in the edge of my seat. I love how realistic these characters communicate, leaving me laughing the entire story. This id a must-read. It’s an epic forbidden love story. I don’t want to give any spoilers as all will be revealed once you read it. I don’t give 5 starts often. This deserves the highest rating I can give!!!
Wow! The character building in this book was exceptional. I thought I was going to hate Big Red and yet I was cheering for her. And Flix!! Omg! I laughed out loud at him!!
