Alice in Wonderland Retelling!

This was a fun twist on on an already twisted Fairytale.

The main character is nursing a broken heart when his best friend convinces him to go out into the world and drown his sorrows in alcohol and maybe a women. When he finally agrees, that is where it all goes dark!!

Samantha Moran does a great job bringing you in to the mind of a man and his madness. His story is told as a Then and Now... before, after and during his time in Wonderland.

This story has very descriptive horror, abuse and sexual scenes. As always read the trigger warnings before you follow the Pretty Rabbit down the Rabbit Hole.

Thank you Samantha for allowing me the pleasure of being one of your ARC readers!! I look forward to spending more time in Wonderland!!

I don’t leave star-rating reviews of my own books, but I always try to leave a little something here.

Wicked Little Rabbit was a unique whirlwind. From the intentionally fragmented thoughts and speech of the main character, to my first explicit scenes, to the twist I loved writing at the end, it has left its mark. After a horrific writing slump and heaps of self-doubt, I’m so glad this book came to me when it did. The genre was requested by a reader, inspired by Sinful Signings, and has helped me develop more of who I am as an author and an individual.

I enjoyed writing this tale so much that it’s kickstarting an entire stand-alone series. I’m not sure which tale I’ll tackle next, but whichever it is, I can promise you that your favorite childhood fairytales are no longer safe. 😂

Please, check your trigger warnings for this book. Your safety matters more than any purchases or page reads. With that said, I hope you enjoy Wicked Little Rabbit. It’s not for everyone, but if it’s for you, then I’ve done my work and am proud to have landed on your TBR. Happy hauntings and happy reading! 🖤

As always, CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS before reading!
Wow, Sam. You did it again!
This book takes you down the rabbit hole in a whole new way. The use of fragmented sentences is *chefs kiss* perfection. I was hesitant with the use of these at first, but GEEZ did it work perfectly to bring out the emotions, trauma, and progress of this character.
This book is an art of mystery, horror, a dash of spice, and so incredibly executed.
This dark and twisty tale was impeccably executed, and I can't wait to see where this series leads!

Let me just start by saying for Samantha’s first smut book she did not disappoint! 👏🏻👏🏻
Now that I’ve spoken my peace on that let’s get to the meat and potatoes of the story….
I knew this book would be different from most that I have read the minute I read the first chapter. I felt like I was trapped inside of my mind. It reads a lot like what the rabbit from Alice in wonderland’s personality is. Short sentences and anxiously in a hurry.
I was like omg who is the persons mind that I am in?! Which you don’t find out till over 10 chapters in. The curosity of it just kept pulling me in. The twist of the story and the added gore/ horror was just 🤌🏻. I felt like I was losing my own mind not knowing what was real and what wasn’t. It was a mindfuck for sure.
Then it got real sus and I was like “who is this bitch” like she can’t be all rainbows and sunshine?
As I got to the end of the book I was like fuck I hope the MMC can escape this hell and the pure fucks that the opposing characters did not give was just eye opening. Some people are literally out hear just being demons on the hunt,
Bravo Samantha! Please continue writing these mind fucks and keep it with the spice! It was great 🖤

A deliciously captivating Alice and Wonderland inspired horror story with spice. This was my second read through and my experience was the same or even better than the first time. I loved all the references to the original Alice but also how the story was unique to itself.

It is important to note that this story does have horror incorporated so it is not a book for someone looking for a cute romance. It has many moments of intense horror scenes.

The twist at the end really surprised me and was something I didn’t see coming. It leaves a little room to the imagination. Another fantastic story by Moran!

I absolutely love this book. When Samantha Moran said she was writing a spicy horror retelling of Alice in Wonderland, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I love all of Samantha Moran's books. She has a talent for building suspense and making my heart race a million miles an hour. WLR had the same vibe as the rest of her books. Creepy, suspenseful, and wickedly delightful. I absolutely loved it. I could not put it down.
We follow 'James' who is in a psychiatric hospital and no one knows what happened to him. He can't even remember his name. His speech and thoughts are broken, and it was brilliantly done. I knew what he was trying to say, but it was broken enough that you knew the other characters would have no idea what he meant.
WLR is written in a 'then' and 'now' format, and it was perfect. Samantha Moran let the story unfold naturally and I found myself wanting to skip ahead because I NEEDED to know what actually happened to 'James'.
I finished this book in one sitting and will absolutely be recommending to everyone.

Riley just got dumped by his cheating fiancé and what better way to get over her? Head out to the bar and get wasted, get laid, and get the fuck over it. What he doesn’t know is that will be the last bar trip he ever takes. The Rabbit Hole is like no other bar, and the bartender isn’t a regular bartender either. She is the Queen of Hearts and she will take you to Wonderland and take your soul. I absolutely loved this retelling of Alice in Wonderland and I love how it was turned Into a horror. One of my fav movies growing up and it brought back nostalgia with a twist!

I absolutely loved it!! Samantha Moran gets better and better. She is a gifted author who has a way with using prose in a book to fully immerse the reader in the experience that the main characters do. This is an Alice in Wonderland reimagining that kept me engaged in the stories twists and turns all throughout. I find Samantha's writing style to be very versatile and it hooks the reader in. This book takes place in dual timelines which also adds to the suspense and appeal of the tale being wove no for the reader. I enjoyed the pieces of Alice in Wonderland while creating an all new experience. 18+ must read dark so check trigger warnings

Dark. Broken. Twisted. HOT.
You truly feel the madness and wildness of the characters. The sensual, dark, broken path through this book will help you hooked. Page after page, it's like you're in the mind of the main character, sorting his memories and delusions. It's definitely and defiantly not your typical romance novel. Steamy? For sure. Interesting? Without a doubt. Dark, twisted, brutal at times? Oh yes. It's not your typical trip to Wonderland. And that's what makes it so good. This book is absolutely worth the read. It's a great length, exceptionally well written, and very engaging. I couldn't put it down! It's been a long time since I had a book I loved so much I finished it in a day, but this one is at the top of the list. I can't wait for the next installment. If you're into dark, scary, steamy stories, you simply MUST give this one a try.

Okay, this book is AMAZING.
**READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!**
*Some Spoilers in review.*

This book is DARK. But it is written so exceptionally well!
I really liked that the traditionally written roles were reversed and that the FMC is who ends up as the “villain”.
At first I thought ok, she’s a psycho woman this is gonna be sketch AF, and I personally wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to continue reading with how dark it is. Then the succubus demon shift happened and then I thought OH WHOA. Having the PNR element made it easier for me to process through the really dark parts of the story.

The way the author wrote the broken grammar thought processes of the MMC, to show how damaged he is, was just genius.

The author’s parallels to the original Alice in Wonderland story - she did that SO well.

Absolutely a 5⭐️ read!!

This was such a different book than I normally read! It was so well done though. A dark, Alice in Wonderland retelling where Alice is not our protagonist! This is told from the male POV. It starts with a man in a hospital after a traumatic event has left him almost comatose. His thoughts and words are short and fragmented. It was so interesting to read. After a few chapters you get a past perspective and then it goes back and forth after that so you can find out what actually happened to our MMC. Not a ton of character development as the story takes place over just a few days but so much happens in those few days. This is a fabulous story about choices and consequences. It's dark though so please read the TWs!

Twisted Alice in Wonderland Retelling!! 18+ This is not your average fairytale! This one is dark and extremely twisted!

Summary of Author Note: This is a supernatural & psychological reimagining of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland which is one of my favorite fairytales of all time! This book contains passages with strong language and consent related to dubious consent, rape (esp Ch.’s 23 & 25), evisceration, pseudo-cannibalism, kidnapping, medical trauma, mental illness, self-harm, alcoholic substances, drug use, inaccurate BDSM, blood, death, and more. If any of these are disturbing to you, you may not want to proceed. But if you feel inclined to continue, then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect but I devoured this book in one day! The cover is stunning and that alone made me want to read this book.

Braxton wanted to help his best friend get over a very bad breakup so he thought it would be a great idea to go out for a night on the town but all his friend wanted to do was stay at home wallowing in his own self pity playing video games and eating pizza when he wasn’t working. And boy oh boy should he have stayed home.

Braxton finally gets him to agree to go out and he drags him to this club that is tucked away in an alley and this club just isn’t your normal club. The Rabbit Hole as they call it has many, many secrets. And of course they get to the club, Braxton pissed off the extremely hot bartender and leaves with a poor girl who is so drunk she can’t stand up by herself. Great friend!
The bartender (whose name is Allison) makes the most amazing drinks and the food is just as good as the drinks. Before you know it, he’s had quite a few more than he planned. And even though the bartender initially wants nothing to do with him, he is persistent. Allison takes a smoke break and is gone longer than he would like for her to be (but of course he’s drunk and has no idea how much time has actually passed), so he decides to go out and look for her. He goes to the front and the bouncer who just happens to have the most amazing personality (LOL) even tries to warn him that she isn’t the one man – we call her the Queen of Hearts (a man-eater) but he wouldn’t listen. She likes her men weak, easily manipulated and he fits that description perfectly at the moment (alone, broken, and vulnerable). She likes to use her men, take what she wants and then move on. She even tries to warn him multiple times and like a fool, he doesn’t listen. He agrees to one night with her doing whatever she wants then she will send him packing. He thinks this is a great way to get over his ex, a night of great sex and let’s just say that he gets way more than he bargained for……He says, there is nothing for me at home, I want you. I’d follow my White Rabbit anywhere”…Welcome to Wonderland……He should have just stayed home!!

This was such a twisted tale, and I loved all the nods to Alice in Wonderland. Make sure you check the triggers as this is an Erotic Horror and shit does down. But was really interesting the jumping back and forth between the "before" when James was heartbroken and his friend's idea to cheer him up was to go to a bar and get him laid and jumping to the "now" where he is man whose mind has been broken. By what we don't know yet and jump to the before to see the night unfold to solve that mystery. I think the back and forth was really well that it didn't feel disorientating at all. However, it was a little disorienting at the start to get James POV because his mind is broken so his thought process is broken as well and the way Samantha wrote it was to emphasize that point. It won't be for everyone, but it only happens for a little and it fit for what the MMC was going through.
This book takes you down a creepy tunnel with a story that full is full suspense and darkness as you read about a man being broken down by the things that go bump in the night. It was a perfect end for spooky season.

---
This book is about James who is heartbroken because his fiancé broke up with him and got back immediately with her EX. While he would rather just stay home and deal with his feelings his best friend Braxton has other ideas. Braxton thinks the best thing to do is get drunk, get laid and move on. Sounds simple enough. So off to The Rabbit Hole they go, a hole in the wall club that is not what it seems. And at the center of the club is a blonde bartender who is as irresistible as the drinks she makes. It's there that Braxton abandons James leaving him sad and alone in the hands of this bartender who promises James the night of life that will change him in ways that he could never have imagined. Ways that will have him wishing he had never left his apartment.

I am the author's PA, but I bought this book with my own $ and I am always honest in my reviews.

The series being titled For the Dark and Depraved is the most accurate description of Wicked Little Rabbits content.
As a child, I always viewed Alice in Wonderland as a cartoon horror and the earlier live action versions were even more terrifying to me. I was completely terrified of the Cheshire Cat as well as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. The scene of Alice in the flower bed when they go from being nice to being mean to her used to give me nightmares for some reason. So it is only fitting that the story be made into a Supernatural Horror with psychological thriller elements.
The story is designed to showcase how trauma affects your brain. It also does an amazing job at encompassing the whole "you are who you surround yourself with" saying.

In this story, you will not get a happy ending. There is no happily ever after. It is depravity at it's finest. The horrible things that happen in this book happen all the time (minus the supernatural elements of course). While providing a rollercoaster of emotions Wicked Little Rabbit keeps you immersed in this Wonderland of horrors and makes you want to keep turning the page. There are so many WTF moments and audible gasp moments and I even had a few Noooooooooooooo no no no moments. LOL The ending had me bawling my eyes out and had me so mad at the same time. You get to know these characters so well that you can't help but be invested into what they are doing and all the wrong turns they make. I hope to see a sequel because.... cliff hanger.... gerrrrrrrrrr lol but also look forward to every tale Samantha Moran wants to turn into something Dark and Depraved.
This story was absolutely wonderful... it delivered dark, scary, spicy, confusion, and heartbreak and I loved every second of the book!.
Thank you Samantha Moran for allowing me to read this fabulous story... I love your writing and this story just proves that you deserve every word of praise and every second of notoriety.

Spoiler warning❗️

I quite literally could not put this book down. From the moment I started reading, I knew it would be one elaborate puzzle. The author does an incredible job at portraying the fragments of a broken mind. There were moments I felt like I was the one going insane. To say the least, I was on the edge of my seat the entire read. I had many theories in the beginning, yet my predictions weren’t accurate, and that’s what makes a great book. Living inside of Riley’s scattered thoughts up until the end made the plot so intriguing, and personally, addicting. Not only does this book bring awareness to sexual assault, especially recognizing male victims, but it sheds a light on grief as well. This book is so well written and deserves way more recognition. I cannot wait to see if Braxton will have a story of his own, or if it will remain a mystery. I would also love to add, the relationship we build with the doctor is so important. We all portray stories differently, but I really think it goes to show that despite the struggles of life, there is someone out there willing to guide you. The doctors words in the epilogue are so powerful, and a great reminder that although life is challenging, and we all struggle with trauma in some form here and there, we have to persevere and LIVE. His character is a great reminder that we can seek help, and sometimes we should.

Side note- please read and consider the trigger warnings before diving into this story

PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING! I cannot stress this enough! This book is a heavy hitter on some very heavy stuff!
Now that we’ve got the warning out of the way, this book is one of the best fairytale retellings I’ve read. This is dark and depraved in all the right ways. Samantha did an amazing job with the correlation of certain phrases and imagery from the original fairytale that we all recognized, which I thought brought more connection to the characters and the story. It was the perfect fairytale to take us down this rabbit hole of a journey.
The way in which this story is written, you can really feel the brokenness of the MMC.
You follow the MMC through present and past POV on his journey of discovery of who he is and what happened?! His best friend left him at a bar for a one night stand and he fell deep down into a horrific nightmare that chews him up and spits him back out as a shell of a man, no longer knowing who, what, where or why. He struggles to make sense of it all but he quickly realizes his efforts are futile. The vixen in this story is wicked and unrelenting. She sinks her claws into this man and refuses to let him go, driving him to the point of shear insanity. As the story unfolds, it’s dark and traumatic. It will leave you feeling equally as broken. In the end, you’ll really understand why the white rabbit is always in a hurry.

Wicked little rabbit by Samantha Moran

This book was definitely not something I usually read. I picked it up, because I saw it was a reimagining of Alice and wonderland, which I’m a sucker for reimagining and retellings. This is my first horror book, I don’t read horror because I’m a scary cat. Even though this book is not my typical book I read, I still enjoyed it. I was hooked and scared, my heart kept beating fast throughout the story. I loved the way the author wrote the main character, I was invested. Although, at first it threw me off, because I wasn’t sure what was happening and what the the main character was saying. But you will understand why she did that. This story was well plot out and written. So I definitely recommend this book, especially if you love horror.

Favorite quotes:
- Whoever did this is going to pay for it. I promise.
- "Oh, baby... You're already mad," she whispers. "I made sure of that."
- "I’ve tasted you, $$$$$. Not just your essence. That juicy cock of yours. Those pouty little lips. And, your brain. Your mind belongs to me, Big Boy. Always. There's no going back now."
- "Naughty boy. I'll be sure to punish you."
- "I know you, $$$$$. Better than you know yourself. You poor, lost, miserable little creature. So broken, even before I sank my claws into you. Ruined by a woman who didn't deserve you.
Dragged along by a shitty friend."
- "You can't resist me, Big Boy."
-Forget. Forget it all. Forget, and live.
Maybe that's enough?

Wicked Little Rabbit by Samantha Moran is a dark/horror Alice and Wonderland retelling.

Can one night at a bar change your life forever?

This book is a dual timeline from before and now of one man's night experience. As you go back and forth you begin to unravel through suspense and horror everything that actually happens. Our MMC is heartbroken man, who's best friend convinces him a night out will help him heal. So reluctantly the men head to the Rabbit's hole a club on a dark and vacant street. As the night unfolds you will be creeped out and disturbed.

This book reads as if Aron Beaugard and H.D Carlton combined their unique talents with Lewis Carroll. I enjoyed finding the references to the original Alice and Wonderland. If you are familiar with the children's story or the movie you will probably enjoy that as well.

I enjoyed reading Wicked Little Rabbit, the only thing that didn't work well for me was the broken sentences from the broken minded man. I understand it was written to portray a certain mind frame it just didn't flow well in my brain and was hard for me to get used to. Other than that detail, the book was fun and I will be looking for the next instalment of the For the Dark and Depraved series.

Wicked Little Rabbit by Samantha Moran is part of the For the Dark and Depraved Series. When I read the book description for this book, I can say my excitement was off the charts. A mix between Alice in Wonderland, horror and spice? It was an immediate win in my book. I’m already a fan of this author but this book took it to another level completely. I devoured this book, when I say I didn’t move from my couch I mean it. I didn’t want to be an adult until I was done. This was incredible and I absolutely loved it. I will mention just check your content warning to be on the safe side. Cause this twisted, smoking and dark story. Like you can feel the insanity of the characters, it was truly my favorite part. I totally dug the whole vibe of this book. I was instantly hooked from the beginning and this crazy ride didn’t let up until the end. I am so excited to read more! I not only highly recommend this book but also the author, Samantha Moran. This author has such an amazing talent writing all these different type of stories. You have to check them out!

Wicked Little Rabbit is a dark reimagining of Alice in Wonderland. Riley was recently dumped by his cheating girlfriend, and his friend insists on taking him out to a bar to help him move forward. At the bar, he meets Allison, and she leads him down the rabbit hole. He emerges broken, and the people around him try to piece together what happened.

The concept is creative and the use of different writing styles really helps to put you in Riley’s shoes. It was a bit jarring but I could really feel his distress through the use of fragments and disordered thoughts. The story jumps between the past and the present, drawing out the suspense about what happened to Riley. The references to Alice in Wonderland are not always entirely obvious, which made it interesting to look for and make the connections.

I strongly recommend reading the author’s note at the beginning for content warnings. I did enjoy the book but found some of the content difficult.

This book was absolutely insane and had me hooked from the first page!! The jarring sentences really threw me off guard at first, but it really emphasized the madness of the main character.

The story follows our mmc (who's name we find out approx. 10 chapters in, as he doesn't remember it) after his cheating fiancé leaves him. His friend Braxton convinces him to go to a hole in the wall bar to have the time of his life, only for him to be left traumatized, completely mad, and with only a fragmented memory remaining. The book alternates between the past and the present as we try to uncover what's happened to him.

This book is definitely not for everybody, so please be sure to read ALL of the trigger warnings before picking it up! And a thank you to Samantha for allowing me to be a part of the ARC team 🤍

A dark and twisted horror filled ride I couldn’t put down!!

I can’t remember how I came across this book but I am so frightfully delighted I did!

Riley is a man who is getting over his fiancé leaving him for her ex. With some convincing from his best friend, Braxton, he actually decides to go out one evening. What he didn’t expect was the next set of nightmarish events to follow that took more than his sanity.

I can’t even begin to explain how much I enjoyed Samantha’s horror filled take on Alice in Wonderland and with a male MC to top it off. She seamlessly wove the past events that lead to his insane ramblings that is the now, all the while keeping me on the edge of my seat. This talented author perfectly balanced psychological suspense with supernatural horror and I am here for it all. I hope that Braxton gets a book!

I have to say Wicked Little Rabbit was truly amazing. I usually read smut romance but I have to say this book is a new favorite of mines. Samantha Moran definitely has a way with words, she can suck you into a world of mystery and horror I would classify this read as. The peak into the unknown underworld and human life is just so good.
Definitely check out the trigger warnings before you read this book.

Wicked Little Rabbit follows the characters Riley, who has had crappy luck in love and was just shattered after his ex left him for her ex. Then you have Braxton Riley’s friend who tried to cheer him up so he brought him to The Rabbit hole club. That’s where all the stuff hits the fan when Riley meets Allison, and just wow this story will blow you away when Allison and Riley have their night, you will truly be like what just happened.

But hey we are all a little madd.

Just to get it out of the way, I was an ARC reader for this book.

So, I am not generally one to read horror stories, but this one was worth the read. The way that Samantha goes about telling the story from a split timeline was a great choice for this story. You really got to experience the descent into madness that the main character faced. She did a great job portraying just how broken the main character was and really made you feel for him in his situation.

I would also like to point out how the spice in the book was a great addition to the story rather than being the whole story. It added another layer to the book that really made it feel whole.

If you are a fan of spooky reads, spicy demons, and thrillers, this is the book for you.

Normally I don't go for this particular grouping of genres, but I enjoyed the author's other works and so thought I would give it a go. I am glad that I did, because I couldn't put it down! As the warnings state, this book is definitely not for the faint of heart (or the overly squeamish), but if you like this genre you will LOVE this book.

The writing style is really unique and I don't think I've seen anything like it used over an entire book like this, but the more you read the more it makes total sense not only as to why the protagonist is thinking this way but also why the author chose to write this way. It got me interested, and the plot/pacing was perfect to keep me hooked; there were genuinely a few places where I didn't see the twist coming.

- Fairytale retelling
- Dark romance

Once I started this compelling story, I could not stop. I resurfaced somewhere around the 75% mark to catch my breath, then dove back in. This is one of the most original fairytale retellings I've ever read. Is it dark? Absolutely, but the twists are so worth it!

We start the book not knowing who the MMC is...and he doesn't know either. His mind is truly broken from an unknown to him event. We are given the backstory by way of "Then" chapters. The concept of Alice being the villain of the story was absolutely brilliant, but I was still surprised by the unexpected turns!!

Mesmerizing is too tame a word for this book. Deserves way more than 5 stars!
