I think I have to begin this review by first addressing that Shiloh’s mind is artistry in its rawest and purest form. Her writing is beyond her years and just as art pieces should be given time to interpret, her writing needs the same allowance. I personally do not believe her writing can be absorbed in just a glance. This book is not going to be for close minded individuals. Nor for readers who do not enjoy reading a book with depths so far reaching, that if you don’t hold onto that thread the Author leaves for you to grasp onto, you’ll get lost in the abyss.
Ready and Willing: An Erotic Stalker Horror is by far Shiloh Sloane’s most groundbreaking book to date, in my opinion. I was uncomfortable with some parts in the beginning, but the writing was so captivating that I HAD to know where this story was leading me to. And could not put this book down.
This type of story is like assembling stained glass. The further along with your progress you get, the more you’re able to see the whole picture coming together. In my personal opinion, you MUST be patient and wait until you finish that final page. Then, sit back and just consider all of the insanely brilliant themes that Shiloh delivered.
I will say that early on I found myself searching for some firm line of “magic” , such as “Fae” or “Mage” magic…but, instead I would consider that the “magic” was possibly something along the lines of Earth or Ritualistic magic. So, take that as you will.
The overall theme I personally took away from this book was: Even the most broken souls can find light in their dark paths. You can be your own champion. You can find your path to happiness even if it’s an unknown place.
Ready and Willing is harsh yet beautiful. Cruel, but not without reason. And I personally think this is such a visionary work of art that will challenge the mind. To see how Shiloh has taken the dark elements of life. The unfulfilling aspects of life that no one admits out loud, instead suffers in silence with only their shadow as witness. And paints such a brilliant vessel to carry her message for readers to digest.
I was so lucky to receive an ARC as I know that this is a kindness for Authors to offer to their readers. I hope that this book works it’s magic on readers who look for thought provoking plot lines🖤🩶.

Perfection, no notes.
Kayla is exquisite; flawless, powerful, seductive. She is both predator and prey, tactical and vulnerable. Her manipulation of everyone around her is impeccable, she's the director. She is written so well that you feel every part of her grief, obsession, and rebirth. A less capable author would have done her an injustice.

This book is divine femininity.

I finished this story a couple of days ago, and I still feel like my mind is scrambled, and I don't know what's left or right.
It's not my first rodeo with Shiloh's stories, but she keeps surprising me. This book will not be for everyone. It's NOTa romance with hea and sweet loving characters, so don'tget into it thinking in that categories. It's dark and twisted,I would rather say expect unexpected lol This will beunhinged, bl00dy tale of revange and destruction at itsfinest. But also a story of grief and the lost love, maybenot the conventional and healthy love but still love.I'm not sure how to fully describe this to give you theslightest idea of what you are getting yourself into, lol
I really liked the concept of a female stalker and Kayla's character definitely delivers here. She is calculated, I would say detached of certain emotions and has an eyesset on her goal. In this case, her goal is to ruin Nathan's Parker life.
The last few chapters of this book were a total mindf*ck!What is real, and what is not? Until this moment I can'tgive you the right answer and I think this is the real beautyof it. There is not one simple way to explain it.
If what I've described above speaks to the darkest part of your soul, if you love unconventional and unexpected stories, then you should consider giving this one a chance.

Ready and Willing by Shiloh Sloane is an erotic horror with themes of female rage, obsession and stalking, vengeance, trauma, resilience, dark humour... and a little bit of sex magic. My friends... this was a real trip; a fever dream induced by whatever drug or magic Shiloh Sloane put into this story. I ate it up.
Shiloh Sloane is one of my favourite authors! I was stunned by Then, Earth Swallowed Ocean last year, and then Like Neon Mornings and Cracked Blue Sky sealed my fate as a fanatic and loyal reader. She's proven incredible range, authenticity and originality in her writing. Her prose is delectable, dripping with poetry and satiating a unique hunger in me that few others can satisfy. I will read anything this woman writes!
Ready and Willing is entirely different from any of her other work... and from anything else I've ever read, for that matter.
I don't want to say much about the plot, but this story follows a woman hellbent on revenge. She does not hold back in her pursuit to destroy the life of someone that destroyed her own. She hones her most dangerous weapons and skillfully executes a plan that will have you on the edge of your seat and maybe even a little turned on. It's gory. It's spicy. It's raw. And it's absolutely, insanely, brilliant.
I laughed a lot more than I thought I would, given the dark story line and intense themes. I have no idea what this says about me as a reader or a person... but being inside Kayla's head was so entertaining and Shiloh's use of wit and sarcasm added so much. THE SWEATPANTS. Iykyk.
If I could use one word to describe Kayla, it would be unhinged. She is the most damaged and psychopathic female character I think I've ever read.. I love her so much for it. Her story is heartbreaking, having been used and abused by the people who should have been protecting her, but her ability to adapt and protect her psyche is fascinating.
What I enjoyed most about this story is the way it can be left up to interpretation. There are elements that are paranormal, but I feel it can be left up to the reader to decide what they believe. I interpreted this story differently than some of my friends, but the impact we felt was similar.
Or perhaps it all went over my head. Who knows?! Regardless, I had a great time!
I definitely recommend this for readers of erotic horror and dark romance (but remember.. this isn't a romance!), readers who appreciate revenge plots, traumatic backstories, poetic writing and literary fiction.

This was my work, my story, my capacity to be a villain. I would not lose my chance at infamy. To wash the pity from any mention of Kayla Bell.

Can I sum up this story with one quote? (No, but if I were to try)…
Genres: Horror/Erotica/Contemporary/Psychological Thriller
Subgenres: Graphic violence, Gore, Novella, Adult, Crime Fiction
**A quick disclaimer: this book will not be for readerships that desire hand-wrapped plot points and simplistic prose. This book has MANY dark themes and content flags. It also is NOT a ROMANCE (kindly, read that again).** What it DOES have is, empowering concepts around autonomy in a MUCH darker Legally Blonde, Elle Woods type of manner.
Kayla, our MC, is an objectified body from adolescence. She rolls with that utilizing her familial privilege, financial wealth and physical appearance as a calculated means of exuding Femme Fatale personae to the max. - giving me total Catherine Tramell from Basic Instinct vibes. Having a sharp set of skills both with and knife and her tongue, Kayla is introduced as a sociopathic sinner with a bone to gnaw for Nathan Parker.
Sloane composes internal monologues on the page in a way that is primeval and real. Pushing limits of how deep one’s psyche wanders when fantasies and obsessions dig their nails in. Written in first person and gifting the reader with a direct arterial mainline to Kayla’s streams of consciousness, and she doesn’t hold back. It is evident Kayla has revenge on the mind, with a side of painfully erotic creativity.
Tragedy is a cloak Kayla wears as armour that surrounds her troubled soul. The character development of Kayla and rest of the cast is done with discernible intention. I have read other erotic horror stories, and most pale to compare to this novella in both character realism and range of breadth.
Allusion is threaded throughout this story in forms of comparison to the original Little Mermaid (no, not the one with the seagull and dinglehoppers). A suggestion of primordial magics and energetic equalizers making the framework within the narrative more engrossing. Masculine and feminine energies, like those of yin and yang and balance of opposite forces. All doing so without outweighing one another, keeping the story fluent and direct.
There is a familiarity with the setting of this story having it placed in recent times in the USA. With tactful use of pop culture references and relevant lingo, these aspects only heighten the immersion into this character-driven story. A tipping point right around the 50% mark had me leaning completely in and in full rapture right 'til the end -- and I can confidently bet you didn't not forsee this conclusion.
Now we need a remix of Billie Eilish's What Was I Made For? song but have it dripping with heavy metal notes and we’ve got a potential theme song for Ready & Willing.
I have now read three of Shiloh Sloane’s books, each one vies for the next furlong on her racetrack of storytelling. The brilliance of Sloane’s works is they all have a distinct skill and there’s no clear winner in her arena because each turnout is just as worthy as the last. My advice? Trust Shiloh to deliver on themes and tropes that have a stigma of being poorly executed. And for goodness sake, keep your meds far away from the microwave!

I feel changed….
That was really the only thought I was left with when I initially finished reading this book. Honestly, I can’t say it’s much different even days later. I’ve been trying to grapple for words (as I’m not always the most eloquent) to explain my experience. And an experience it was..
Ready & Willing is not for the faint of heart. It is exactly as it’s advertised. Erotic. Horror. But it’s also so much more than that. Though, it’s novella sized this story packs an unhinged punch. At times, I was questioning what I was really getting myself into while reading, but I also couldn’t look away. Kayla is a character who is deranged in so many ways, but full of so much intrigue. I couldn’t always relate to her but I wanted to know her. She had this way with her emotions that were so real and so deep, but the appearance of them were different.
”I noticed the hole in my heart was different than it should have been. An empty, screaming void. So hungry it had its own stomach.”
The plot was unlike anything I’ve read. Hell, even the characters. I truly feel like there is nothing out there like Shiloh Sloane. Her brain truly blows me away every single time I read her words. And it’s always different. It’s the type of writing you have to sit with. It’s the type of writing you take with you when you’re done.
So while this book may not be for everyone, it definitely impressed me. When I made it to the last word, I just sat there and stared.. for awhile. It’s not an instant gratification kind of story. It’s not black and white or even gray. It’s a journey of what once was to what will be. So strap in your seatbelts, get comfortable and follow Kayla into the depths of sex magic, mayhem, blood, pain and I think even healing.

I was ready and willing to read a book that was twisted. I’m glad this one was available to me. I love a good horror story with violent, explicit, dark, erotic scenes. I spent a lot of this book saying things like “woah”, “daaamn”, and “oh shit!”.
With a compelling start to the story, the FMC, Kayla, is strong-willed, out for blood, and unhinged. Sloane’s representation of the lengths a person can go to was flawless. The relationships between the characters stuck in my mind.
This may be a story about obsession and revenge, but it also has the fluidity of storytelling that has purpose and intention.
Finding a story that pushes the boundaries and is written in a way that feels seamless is hard to find, what’s harder is to discover a new favourite author who self-publishes and continues to deliver stories that break free from the mould. Shiloh is an auto-read author from now on for me.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin. I read this book twice, and I’ve been marinating in my feelings for days, unsure of how to proceed. Why? Because I was utterly benumbed by this story, and I’m still not ok. As always with Shiloh’s work, it was an absolutely visceral experience. Her immaculate, hallmark prose blew my mind. The story shredded my heart and my nerves, and left me thoroughly ruined. I’m still struggling with how to review it in a way that will properly honor the story, while making you understand what you’re about to get yourself into.
First, let me say this: If you’re looking for a traditional dark romance, or an enemies lovers situation with an HEA, imma stop you right there… cuz you won’t find that here. And nor should you, because that’s not what this story is about. It is SO much more. Soooo, a trope list can fuck all the way off- bc this book transcends that. The only list that need be consulted is the list of content warnings. (It goes full-on taboo, so brace yourself.)
Here goes nothing…
Kayla is our FMC, who’s experienced SEVERE childhood trauma, that she has no recollection of. Structured in a nonlinear format, the story bounces you around between present day and flashbacks, giving you glimpses and insights into Kayla’s chaos.
In present day, she is a woman of wealth and means, and is hell-bent on exacting revenge upon a man who has ruined her life, and fucked with her power. The stalking piece of this book is clever, humorous, and horrifying. But we see glimpses of the side of her that mourns the loss of the piece of her that died when those wrongs were done to her. There is a dichotomy of emotion at play, and it’s tragic and beautiful in equal measure.
At certain points of the book, we begin to see elements of magic~ or at least, that’s how I interpreted them. Others might see only symbolism, and honestly it could go either way. But I choose magic, because that’s the way this story made me feel. And no, you won’t get your romantic HEA- but if you’re like me, you will experience some satisfying, heartbreaking resolution for the heroine that will make you ugly cry, and set your soul on fire.
At the end of the day, this book is fucked up, and it’s gonna make you feel things. Soooo many things. All of the things. It’s completely out there, but it’s also fully grounded in reality. It’s witty and laugh out loud funny, but it’s also tragic as fuck and will break your heart. It’s sexy, and hot as hell, but it’s also a cold shower bitch-slap across the face. It’s brutal and gory, but also precious and delicate. And as with all of Shiloh’s work, the darkness and the depravity serve a purpose, and are fully tethered to the emotional component of the story. I know with certainty what this book meant to me, but it will probably mean something completely different to you, and that’s what makes it so damn beautiful.
I will just finish with this: There is no one else like Shiloh. The motherfucking mold was smashed upon her arrival, so I intend to devour every word, every damn syllable that she puts out into the world, and consider myself fortunate for being around while she’s here. I get that this book is not going to be for everyone. It’s really truly not. But by the gods, it was for me. And if you can embrace the darkness, the symbolism, the rage, the taboo, the horror, tragedy, magic and chaos… it will likely be for you, too.

I literally don’t know how to describe what I just read, but I devoured it in one sitting and loved it.
Honestly this read took me by surprise, it disgusted me, excited me and had me desperately turning the pages to get more. I’ll admit it definitely lost me at a few stages but by the end I realised that it was kind of meant to for a bit.
This is everything I want out of a book like this and I’m happy to say this definitely won’t be my last from this author. If you’re a fan of the genre don’t hesitate to give this a go.

Think of all your favourite dark stalker romance favs and then make the FMC the sexy stalker. Only this stalker is out for revenge. Kayla is seriously one of the most unhinged, psychotic, and obsessive FMCs I have ever read. I loved her 😍
She obsesses with, toys with, and ultimately ruins her obsessions. She’s a diabolical mastermind of lust, and I’m here for it. This story infuses a scorned woman with a truly psychotic and obsessive mind. Mix in some elements of magic and the unknown and you have an addictive story of sorrow and sought-out revenge.
After reading TESO, I was instantly obsessed with Shiloh’s writing. Her writing is gritty and raw. It’s poetic in the most dirty, filthy fantastic way possible. It’s truly unique, which makes her work stand out for me. I love when an author has their own flair and creative style and can stand out from the rest. She can write mind-blowing smut scenes along with a well-thought-out and intricate plot that keeps you wanting more. It’s addictively sexy, and you won’t want to stop reading!
I was expecting a little more explanation and wrap up for the ending after the events that occurred but overall this book was a ride that I didn’t want to get off, so that counts as a 5 star for me!

This book absolutely BLEW my mind. Yet again Shiloh has absolutely knocked me on my butt. At no point could I anticipate what was going to happen, and I mean that in the absolute best way. The symbolism in this book was otherworldly, and as always her writing was as insanely visceral as Kayla’s stalking methods. I will be handing this book to every dark romance and true crime lover I know.

Erotic horror..I’ve never read a book like this!! While I couldn’t relate to the main character, it was fascinating to be inside her mind while the most insane R rated plot unfolds. I had no idea what to expect -while some parts were shocking or uncomfortable there was also a sense of hope and empowerment that I didn’t see coming. The ending tied up all the loose ends and leaves you feeling simultaneously empty and introspective.

This was an incredible novella. Definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Saltburn or You by Caroline Kepnes. NOT a romance though. This is a bloody, messed up paranormal thriller that I loved just as much as this author's dark historical romances.

first of all, i was so happy to get an arc for this. i LOVED Then, Earth Swallowed Ocean and Cracked Blue Sky. some of my favorite werewolf romances ever. completely reinvented the genre in my eyes. this book, however, is a completely different breed (if you’ll pardon the pun.) it was pitch black but beautifully written as all shiloh’s books are. this was like a pretty piece of candy that tastes so sweet until you get to the rotten core. i felt like i needed to simultaneously take a shower and talk to my therapist, but in the best way. this was honestly unlike anything i’ve ever read. i really recommend it if you love when dark romance and horror intersect, but please check the trigger warnings.

My god this book was something else in the best way. I loved this one and the fact that Shiloh’s writing style leaves you to do a lot of the work connecting dots on your own instead of holding your hand and repeating everything every couple of chapters. It doesn’t allow you to be lazy and a lot happens off page that you have to kind of piece together. I love books that make you think.
This was a book where the FMC is the obsessed stalker (and that’s putting it mildly) with a revenge fantasy. The things that she says and does go so far beyond obsessive and are kind of gross, but I ate it up.
There were SO MANY things that I needed to highlight in this book because every page had a banger of a line that I wanted to remember. I fell in love with the writing.
I recommend this for anyone okay with the triggers and this gets an easy 5/5 for me.

I just saw "dark stalker romance by Shiloh Sloane with a low page count" and I said sign me the fuck up. I was a little surprised when the FMC turned out to be the one doing the stalkering (reading the blurb is for nerds, am I right). A true FMC villain, seriously disturbed to the point where I'm not 100% sure if the supernatural stuff was real or just her having some kind of deeply twisted menty B with really freaky hallucinations.
Ms. Sloane's writing style has me on the floor, as always. There's body horror, spice, taboo. The morally grey dial is turned aaaall the way down to pitch black, as always. It's not dark romance at all, it's just dark fucked up shit lol.

Her writing is for the open minded and those that want to be expanded intellectually through her stories. I devoured both TESO and CBS followed by Like Neon Mornings. Without a doubt, I’ll read anything she puts out.
This book took twists and turns in ways I did not expect and left feeling confused but inspired to look within myself as a reader to understand my interpretation. I don’t think I’ve ever believed a stalker more than I did with Kayla. Her inner monologue and neurotic attention to detail in her revenge plot had me shook. I don’t think I’ve ever read such insane psychotic tendencies and fantasies before (but in a good way). THE SWEATPANTS, IYKYK. 👀
Without spoiling anything, the moments through the death scenes that weren’t ever answered made my realize that there is so much more to this story than what you get at face value. The themes throughout delivered such impact through symbolism that as always, in true Shiloh fashion, are delivered poetically through unhinged morally black eloquence. Ready and Willing brings a spotlight to feminine rage through grief, jealousy and claiming back what is ours; by any means necessary.
The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars was just because I would have loved a little more closure to her family history on page versus up to interpretation. The eluded details and assumptions were horrific all the same. I loved the park bench scene in the epilogue that gave a little softness and hope for the future.
I highly recommend for any thriller, horror erotica or morally pitch black enthusiast reader!

I wanna say this was like a mash up of American Psycho meets Mindfuck meets witchy elements.
It was utterly insane experiencing the twists and turns and trying to piece together the back story as it slowly unfolded. The revelations in the end just blew my mind completely. 🤯
And the spice 🫠🫠🫠
😮💨 Shiloh always delivers.
And omg...I love a good hate f*k 😅🥵

This book caught me off guard. At first, the age of the MC during encounters really threw me off. But I kept reading and was glad that I did. I later gained a better understanding of the psychology of the MC, what they had been through, and why they were who and how they were.
For a dark stalker novel, this one is definitely twisted, spicy, and had parts that were hard to stomach. It reminds me of a crazier “You”, with a female as the stalker, and who is obsessed with pain, sex, consumption, and revenge. Kayla has some pretty severe fantasies, a lot of which include sex and having a connection to a male in the extreme, whether through skin cells or water on the side of a shower stall, or anything that will make her feel one with her obsession. This leads to the point where she will do anything that they want. She is desirable to others, recognizes it, and uses it to her advantage, and loves the power that comes from knowing it. The ending is honestly kind of crazy though, and makes you read and re-read.
Overall, I loved how you feel like you got a glimpse into Kayla’s messed-up psyche and am happy with the conclusion. Please check trigger warnings before reading, as there are a lot. This is NOT a romance novel, this is full of erotic horror and some activities that may turn your stomach.

The way Shiloh uses words and corrupts the conventional... goodness it's amazing.
This is not a romance... in the way that you want to have the full family happily ever after.
This is a story about obsession being the guide to answers that heal and finding that dark power inside.
I'm honestly reeling after finishing this book. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Shiloh can write the most horrendously dark characters and you will want to root for them.
Kayla is that BISH. The internal monologue and full acceptance of her privilege being a super power... for some good was tops.
Nathan's development into his 'true' self was so well done. I won't go into too much detail to avoid spoilers, but seeing his true colors come out further proves that Kayla is that BISH.
The jumps in timeline were well planned and each of the flashbacks felt poignant for the next steps of the "now" timeline.
This book is definitely not for everyone. For me though? I left no crumbs.
Shiloh's poetry always hits and I highlighted so many things.

Ready & Willing
I was so not ready for this book, but so willing!
It is not the first horror-erotica that I read, but I'm not an expert either. I must add that english is my second langage, so sometimes I can misunderstand things.
With that said, I enjoyed this book, even if I had some moments where I was like : hum… what? Not because of the horror or erotica swirling together, but I genuinely didn't get some parts. But, in the end, I just took that to be reflecting of the unhinged mental state of Kayla!
The writing was kind of poetic, and it's ironic with the theme of the book. Sometimes, the topics are laughable, sometimes cringing, other time sad or ragefull. I had some WTF moments, but overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and it was really different than what I'm used too. The ending had me woah, I didn't expect that! It is really rare that I can't see what is coming, so that was a good surprise.
I definitely will keep an eye open for other books from Shiloh Sloane!

I was extremely pumped for this one and most likely that's why its failed so miserably for me.
The entire thing starts out with a playlist of most of my favorite songs so make that what you will with that information.
First and foremost I want to say 202 pages is not enough. this novel needs to go back to the editing room and get into a 3 part 400 page rounded out novel series. at the very least.
The font was a pain in my bum to read to be honest which took some enjoyment away as well as the dialogues were just too crass and demoralized and made our main character sound stupid above all else.
I have to be honest this wasn't for me even tho it features my absolute favorite elements, sexually liberated women and serial killers. I've got 17% into it and for that I'm marking it as dnfed and not rating it so as to not take away from possible good ratings.
