Ariyan used to be the Chief Executive Officer at Neo, a tech based startup in Dubai. Ariyan is a nightmarish boss, someone who had no regards to his subordinates. Things take a dark turn as he is fired from his company and suddenly finds himself in a small clinic in Goa with a local gangster on his way to hurt him. The book takes us back, tracing events that led him there.
The concept of the book was very unique and was a breath of fresh air amidst the sort of books I have been reading lately. I honestly liked how the book kept its focus on the entrepreneurship world and although gave a dramatized, yet a grounded view.
The plot of the book was natural and kept a consistent pace, but making sure the tone did not get monotonous. It predictable upto a certain point, only to blow my mind at the final plot twist. The final plot twist in itself was one of the most surprising ones I have read in the last few months and I truly loved it. A small hint, Robert used the Chekhov's gun technique really well.
Ariyan is portrayed exactly the way it was necessary for the book to make sense and have an impact on the readers. He is an obnoxious, controlling and apathetic guy who tries to rationalise his wrongdoings by referring to his dark past. His acts angered me, obviously, but they make the character even more evolved as he does look impacted by his actions.
I do think that Ariyan's character could have been more impactful if he was given more time to have moments of epiphany and introspection. A few more scenes would have added more depth and made his character more solid.
An explosive debut, The Celebrity CEO is a great read for all.

This book "The Celebrity CEO" presents a gripping narrative following the protagonist, Ariyan, who used to be a once-celebrated entrepreneur but then everything went downhill in his life. It's like a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs. The book talks about how fame can mess things up and how he tries to fix his life after hitting rock bottom. After enduring childhood trauma and navigating the complexities of fame, he finds himself facing this significant day. The first half of the book narrates the story of Ariyan setting up his successful business, meeting the love of his life, having his life smooth and streamlined without any problems. However, the reality of his life remained in a dark corner which he always sidelined and did not pay much attention to.
Fast foward to where he is right now. In a hospital, lying on a bed. Confused about his own downfall, trying to save himself from getting killed, realizing his own mistakes. People often say that we only truly understand our mistakes when we face the possibility of death. It's like a wake-up call that makes us think about what we've done wrong and how we can do better. When we realize how fragile life is, it makes us want to make the most of our time and be more careful about our actions.

The story takes unanticipated twist at the end, which kept me so hooked. The book is full of surprises that make you want to keep reading, and it gives us a glimpse into the tough side of being famous and trying to make things right. Keeping aside the fiction, the narrative lead me into diving into topics like peculiarities of human behavior, rebuilding through second opportunities. The narrative of this book is very interesting, keeping the reader on the edge to what happens next. The beginning is a bit slow paced but once you get to know the charaters and storyline, it will keep you hooked. I personally like the lucid yet very thought provoking language used by the author which is very easy to read.

Ariyan—the 28-year-old ‘Celebrity’ CEO of infamous tech start-up company Neo based in Dubai—is in Dr Susan’s clinic in a semi-unconscious state with a knife wound to his back. He is guarded by a few constables and Inspector Bhavesh, as his life is in serious danger.

He does not remember anything except that he came to Goa to meet a Russian businessman until everything blacked out in Curlies Restaurant & Bar that same evening.

Who is Ariyan? How did he land up in this current mess: accused of killing Arjun, the son of a local gangster, Vikram?

Cut to the flashback, Ariyan lives a luxurious life in Dubai with his girlfriend Neha, winning awards and enjoying every moment, as his company launches the prototype of Neo Glass, a revolutionary tech gadget where what you think is displayed without a click of a button.

However, the glitches in product development over time leave Ariyan’s mentor and boss Harsh unhappy as everything spirals downward for Ariyan.

In addition, clinging and being possessive with Neha have made life hard for Ariyan, as she leaves him for good to concentrate on her career growth.

The sudden fall of Ariyan from celebrity status to a nobody as he resigns from his position questions his credibility in the industry. He is also accused of ill-treating and abusing his employees in the name of work. One of his primary top-tier employees and CTO, Vijay, collapses in a heart attack and is paralysed for life due to a stress-related complication.

Being in such a mess, Harsh assigns him a job to make a business deal with a Russian conglomerate in Goa, and that is when he is wounded, his days are numbered, and the gangsters are ready to pounce at him at any moment to take revenge.

What is in store for Ariyan now? Did he escape from the goons and return to Dubai? Did he change his mind-set and realise all his mistakes? Did he and Neha reunite? Is he really the Celebrity CEO?

To know the answers to all these questions and other things regarding Ariyan, his past life, and his future, where reality and imagination blur, read this fast-paced commercial (masala) fiction.

Overall, the story and idea were good, but the writing and execution as a whole were sloppy and amateurish in bits and pieces. The author could have easily cut off 30-40 pages (kill your darlings) and made the story crisp and clear.

The Celebrity CEO is an interesting book that explores the idea of self-identity and how in the pursuit of success, our relationships have become transactional. The book explores the life of Ariyan, a celebrated CEO of a startup developing a smart glass technology in Dubai. Ariyan had everything someone could wish for-a successful career, lavish life, a partner-until it all comes crashing down one day due to his choices. Tomson has used the character of Ariyan to highlight the issues that have become a part of our lives as we live in this continuous race to accumulate wealth and fame, sometimes at the cost of our health and our relationships. The book has been written akin to a fable where you relate to the protagonist and the end goal is to take away a message from the story. The book is a comfortable read and Tomson has made sure that the message he wants to put across is not preachy, rather woven into the plot to bring it out slowly. While the first part is about Ariyan and his celebrity status, I was quite impressed the way the second half of the book is planned. The evolution of the story becomes evident in the conversations Ariyan has with the other characters in the story. The multiple call backs to conversations which seemed trivial in the first half suddenly make sense in hindsight. The climax, however was a wonderful piece of plotting, which is something the reader would definitely not be able to guess, considering its link with the initial chapters of the book.

Ariyan as a character seems quite relatable because we have seen the concept of success change in the recent times with social media playing a crucial role in propelling successful businesspeople to the level of celebrities. I liked how Tomson has used the character of Vijay to throw light on the stress at workplace which has become a major issue today with this ever-connected world. Neha’s character had a small part in the story, but again was wonderfully penned to highlight the impact of chasing professional success on one’s personal life.

Overall, this is a book I would definitely recommend you to read as it highlights a major issue of motivation today. The book deals with some important real-world-issues and talks about prioritizing what is important in life.

When I picked up "The Celebrity CEO" by Tomson Robert, I didn't expect to be taken on such a profound journey of self-reflection and insight. From the very first page, I immersed myself in the fast-paced world of Ariyan, the celebrated CEO of Neo, a tech startup in Dubai. Robert's masterful storytelling made Ariyan's journey feel not just like a tale on the page, but a mirror reflecting the complexities of modern-day success and its toll on personal well-being.

My biggest impression of the book was how delicately and gracefully it addressed serious subjects like self-identity and the monetization of relationships. Through Ariyan's experiences, Robert skillfully navigated the pitfalls of chasing fame and fortune at the expense of one's health and meaningful connections. That caused me to pause and reevaluate my priorities, making me wonder if I had also fallen into the trap of placing more value on external approval than inner fulfillment.
All the characters, from the driven yet idealistic Vijay to the helpful but unappreciated Neha, seemed like mirror images of people I knew or had encountered. It seems as though Robert had captured the essence of contemporary society and transferred it onto paper by tapping into its collective awareness.

I was really fascinated with the book's structure, among other things. I couldn't stop turning pages because of the narrative's smooth transitions between timelines and deft references to past exchanges. Then, just when I thought I understood the plot, Robert revealed a twist that had me completely stunned and had me rethink everything I had previously believed to be true about Ariyan and his universe.

However, Ariyan's path of self-awareness and atonement might have struck a deeper chord with me. I could not help but cheer for him as he battled his own issues and the fallout from his decisions, holding out hope that he would overcome his situation and rediscover his purpose in life. It served as a reminder that, whatever how far we may fall, there is always a chance for restoration—if only we have the guts to take advantage of it.

In the end, It's a book that not only entertains but also challenges and inspires, leaving an indelible mark on the soul of anyone fortunate enough to pick it up.

•• INSIGHT: The book ‘The Celebrity CEO’ is the story of a successful CEO of a startup company in Dubai whose only motto is to dream and then work on fulfilling it by hook or by crook. He believes in living in the greys. The book is about how he redeems himself and finds a purpose in life.

•• REVIEW: The Celebrity CEO is all about redemption and second chances. It made me believe that good deeds pay off. With its unique storyline and impactful message, it leaves a mark on the readers. Although the logic was overly mentioned, good characterisation and fast pace covered it all. The book is filled with a lot of emotions and feelings. The cover page and the title of the book also complement well with the contents of the book. Overall the book was refreshing and the author’s potential showed.

The book doesn't only offers corporate life but also talks about the emotional turmoil, redemption, human relationships and many more. The book also discusses about the how sometimes being ambitious feels like.

Just a year ago, I was on top of the world. I was the CEO of Neo, my revolutionary tech-based startup in Dubai. I was the coveted Speaker for all major corporate conferences, and a powerful member of the investor and Business communities. I could transform the fate of startups with just one tweet. But that one fateful day changed it all. I wake to find myself in a hospital bed in Goa, kept in Police custody. 

The book will keeps you hooked through flipping pages. The narratives and language will keep your interest intact and I can't say enough about the climax of the book, that blown me away with its twist.

🔮 Who knows what game the fate had in store for us! Once a successful Ceo of Neo, Ariyan who was on the peak of fame and money ends up in a hospital alond with the police custody. Sounds quite bewildered, isn't it? A gala world where humans are just meant to bring fame and profits is none other than the corporate. Its quite a blend of fiction and thriller.

🔮 Aryan, 28 year old CEO of Neo in Dubai, has his world upside down with a short span of time. His past, jouney and his way to seek the lost frames the story. This is the second corporate based book in my Read. I could relate some incidents from the book as I belong to the same corporate profession. The place description in Dubai and Goa is quite alluring to read. Author's narrative skill is Charismatic and keep the readers engaged till the end.

🔮 The story does have some additional characters that play a crucial role in Aryan's life. Fame, luxuries, selfishness, peace, relationships, family, failure, self analysis and redemption are the skeleton of the story. The best part I really admire is that Aryan's character is framed in a normal human manner with his own negatives and flaws and not a typical heroic type. Corporate world is not the one as it seems, it has a quite a darker side with its own price. Sometimes we have a pay a huge price for success, the price is turns entire life upside down!

It's been a long time, I have read a book with an interesting storyline along with an engaging, flowy writing style.

I could have easily finished reading this book in one sitting if I wasn't occupied with other work. I instead stayed up all night to finish it. It's filled with plot twist and interesting turns. For me individually, the book and the plot hits different from chapter 13 onwards.

Talking about the protagonist, he is an guy, blind folded with ambition who only desires to be the best in his field of technology and is considered to be gifted. At the beginning, he was totally portrayed as a selfish, toxic antagonist but later, things change beautifully in his life. I think, that's how we all are. We all have traits that people around us might not appreciate but then we all have something good in us.

The book beautifully captures the importance of realisation and conscience in life. We all make mistakes, we all suffer but then life compensates and things get back to normal, wonderfully. There was definitely so much to learn from the main character, the antagonist, later, the protagonist who had a difficult past which moulded him into a certain type of person.

If I talk about the genre of the book, it doesn't fall under any specific one but has a little bit of almost all my favourites. It has thrill, romance, self help elements, a part of this book is dedicated to historical fiction and so much more. It's a great amalgamation of all my favourite genres. Moreover, the story wasn't dragged much and has some 222 pages which makes it a quick, fun read.
I have been easily recommending this book to everyone since I finished it.

I'd be lying if I say I didn't finish this book in the span of less than 2 days. This is amazing. Well written and the reader only requires patience to understand the entire wiring of the story. Thanks to scrolling off Amazon, I found this book and while reading the description of the book, my first instincts were to explore it.
The Celebrity CEO is a brilliant book written by Tomson Robert. Although quite of telling than showing, the book dwells into a world of glitz and glamour.
In some pages, Robert has emphasized the importance of trust, engaging with communities and ways of interacting with the audience through the character of Ariyan.
This book also emphasizes of the importance of social media that can create a pathway to
build a business as an entrepreneur.
The world of the story revolves around the slow ride transformation of being a CEO and the hardships and sacrifices that come with it.
I learnt something from this book. That people in your life are just temporary and dont give a damn about you, when you hit rock bottom, no body is there to make you stand on your feet but yourself.
The author has magnificently used the technique of Analepsis here, it doesn't even make the reader realize about the flashback
Even the side characters are beautifully potrayed, adding a sense of built up tension and sailing well in the story.
Although quite possesive and proud, I understood Ariyan well through his motivations and temperaments, he showed a lot of qualities that are potrayed in this book. 🙌

It’s a properly published novel with a classy cover and an apt title.

This book is filled with plot twists you won't even realize is possible. The writing of this book is pretty engrossing and also philosophical which I really liked about it.
This book was twisted in a good weird way twisted. I started reading this book and not gonna lie hated the protagonist, I was impressed at first but the way he treated people around him was toxic and red flag behavior. The start of the book might feel confusing to you when you read but as soon as you're 50% in everything will make sense and the biggest plot twist will happen that you didn't even know was possible.
The book altered my brain chemistry because there was a moment when I realized I figured out the plot but then the twist happened and it actually altered my brain chemistry.
There were so many lines in the books that made me feel so good and no non-fiction book ever made me feel that way, but this thriller fiction had such practical written thoughts that will make you wonder about your doings but will give you ecstasy.
I completed reading it in one sitting because it was a really engaging book and I wasn't bored even for a minute.
I was going through a really bad day but reading this book really turned my bad day into a good one. Safe to say it's bad day friendly, whenever you're in a bad mood pick this book up.

The setting for "The Celebrity CEO" is the shifting scenes of Dubai and India. The central character Ariyan was at one time a CEO at a Dubai-based technological startup with a revolutionary model called Neo. He was a mighty titan, a highly sought-after speaker for corporate gatherings, and well-connected in significant business circles. But everything changed one day. He woke up at a hospital bed without knowing how he reached there, in Goa this time round. After being fired and ridiculed at work by his peers then turning into a laughing stock online, he became like an internet joke character himself. Ambition leading to destruction is one of the central topics in the novel as well as starting out afresh following setbacks.

Overall this corporate thriller book gives us a story about different characters where they ask profound questions and evoke strong feelings , so you can also called it character driven book. In one line : It was a wow read for me.

The Celebrity CEO by Tomson Robert is a short read filled with twists and beautiful philosophical scenes as well.

I think I can call it an inspirational thriller. It'll be so apt because the book covers all the themes with such ease and without breaking the flow.

It's the story of Ariyan - a man hungry for power. All he wanted was to be knows as the world's best CEO. And in this journey he didn't care about the path that would take him there. He always only focused on himself. In fact the very base of his work idea was unethical. He is a character you would be strongly displeased at the start.

However things have a way of turning around, ensuring karma works it's way. Ariyan is not only made to resign from work but he suddenly wakes up in a hospital in Goa. How did he get there? And what's there in future for him is the real surprise.

And trust me when I say it's a surprise, because damn the end 🤯🤯 never could I imagine.

There are so many themes that Tomson has covered in the book - relationship, friendship, mental health, family and faith. A detailed review would soon come too.

It's a must read book. I definitely recommend it.
