As with many books on neuroscience, most of the facts contained were mostly what I already knew by experience and experiments. Anyone who has ever been eager to learn more and learn better would have tried and found effective most of the advice introduced in this book.

However, I'm glad this book makes very clear how 'lazy'(prioritizes efficiency and easily get bored) our brain is - and thus 'push harder' and 'persevere' may not be the best strategy - and how important our emotion is(having interest) to really learn something. Even if one doesn't know all these neuroscience, if one loves something, cares about it, wrestle with it, think about it all the time, stay inquisitive and use their own brain to find answers to questions, it is impossible not to really grow. The brain responds to the information that is of the topic one is already interested in, and already knows some about(thus the more you know the easier it gets to learn more).

Last but never the least, sleep, rest(sometimes closing one's eyes and staying in the dark and silence, and choosing less-crowded path and time of the day to commute), and working out are all important, as our physical fatigue(including that of our eyes and ears) matter. Thus it may be wise to make good use of the physical rhythms at different hours of the day.

Another important giveaway: using a different area of brain as the function you've mainly been using during the day could not only be a way to get more work(or learning) done, but also is an excellent way to refresh, rest and enliven your brain & life.
