“Weeks before the beginning of their Sixth Year at Hogwarts, Hermione Granger saves Draco Malfoy's life. Compelled to lie about it, Hermione's friendships become strained, and she finds an unexpected companion and confidante in Draco. Increasingly becoming the keeper of each other's secrets, they discover that truth and lies have little to do with trust.”

It’s a good fic, but I felt that after the 50% mark it got pretty repetitive and boring. The part that mirrors Half Blood Prince was AMAZING, like that part alone deserved five stars. The Deathly Hallows though, wasn’t as good, it didn’t feel high stakes enough and after a while the romantic interactions just got repetitive and kinda cringy. It’s still pretty well written it just wasn’t really it for me.
This was INCREDIBLY well-written. Like insanely so. Also, almost wanted five stars for this author's note alone: "I only believe in happy endings for Theo." So, there was a small mercy for not killing off one of my favorite Slytherin bois. Also, surprising no one, I cried.
OMG! This tore me apart and built me up again. This should have been canon. I mean what! I have no words. The freaking details, world building and plot twists blow my mind. The friendships, the trauma, the hurt, the angst, the healing, the love and best of all Dramione. Theo and Hermione's bond is heart warming and I love that Theo got his HEA. He definitely deserved it. The journey was amazing.
This FanFic started out really good. I haven't read one yet when it takes place during their school years and I really wanted that. Getting to see how Draco and Hermione came together while still at school as fabulous. Their steamy scenes were well done. However, once we got into the story more when Hermione and Theo were traveling together so this was a least half way through I found it really started to drag. More than even that boredom of listening to them win over these amazing witches and wizards was the constant declarations of love. Once everyone started saying it was the only thing they could say to each other. And at least for me this got to be way too much.
I really enjoyed Theo's relationship with well everyone. Otto and him were adorable. His Friendship with Draco and Hermione. My one complaint is that this story really became all about Theo. Which some people really liked but it's like the guy has no flaws and come on everyone has a flaw. I guess they just made the 4 mains seem to perfect. Draco was the only one that had a little bit of a personality really.
It was too bad that I couldn't' fully enjoy the story as it turned into a Hallmark love fest because it started out strong.
I really liked the concept of this one, and I can understand why a lot of reviewers said it got repetitive, but I actually liked it!
I thought Draco was sweet, and I really enjoyed Theo’s storyline and his and Hermione’s friendship.
I also loved the idea of Hermione and Theo travelling, I would’ve liked a bit more drama and to get to know the new characters a little more, but it was still good. It did take me a while to finish it though because I couldn’t 100% get into it for longer than a few chapters. But the last few chapters and the epilogue were amazing.
really good - some bits dragged a bit but other than that this story was super creative and had the exact right balance of hopefulness, angst and weaves in and out of canon wonderfully. The ending was so well deserved as well and I enjoyed where all the characters ended up.
Overall, I thought this book was good. I read it fairly quick, and kept me entertained. Although I thought the plot got really repetitive sometimes, it was still engaging enough.
Starting with the characters in the book, in the first half of the book, the sixth year section, I really liked Hermione’s character. I thought she was very complex, interesting person, especially with how she responded to the conflicts she was presented with. I like her sense of recklessness, which I don’t think is something that authors commonly add for her. I thought it made her seem a lot more authentic. I also really liked the supporting characters in this, although there was a lot of them, the author did a good job of focusing more on a few so it didn’t feel like you were being bombarded with new information. Some things I didn’t really like with characterization was Hermione later in the book. I didn’t think she was bad, but I just remember her crying so often. Maybe I’m not an empathetic enough person, and I get she was in some hard situations, but it was just so unnecessary sometimes. It made the scenes seem repetitive and took away some of the impact of the emotions the characters were feeling, since I guess I was desensitized to it. Draco’s character was whiny but that’s pretty typical of him, and also kind of funny, so I’m not going to complain. With Harry and Ron, I thought they were pretty out of character, but it didn’t bother me that much.
In terms of plot I thought this book was…fine. Nothing spectacular, but not boring. I thought it felt a little too low stakes at times considering the setting, especially with how Hermione and Draco were about their relationship. But it didn’t ruin the book or anything. Overall I thought the plot was very original, a little too character focused for me, but that’s personal preference. I think the amount of smut scenes felt so unnecessary to me. I’m not against these scenes, but it was like every time they saw each other, it just got to be a bit much for me.
I think the writing was also fine. It felt almost juvenile if that makes sense, like something I probably would’ve enjoyed more when I was younger. But I don’t think it took away from the book, some scenes were written very well. My biggest problem with the writing, or maybe this falls under plot, was the insta love. Not between Hermione and Draco, but with all the other characters. Like Hermione would meet a character and within the hour they would become a maternal figure to her and immediately be willing to die for her. I understand that some relationships develop pretty quick, and Hermione is a lovable character, but at some point the relationships just started to feel forced.
Y'know what fuck Draco, Charlie is the loml (and Hugh <3), I'm about to go read 188292 fics with him as the main character. Easily the best Weasley besides my queen, Ginny. Draco's a right asshole. Murdering people? No biggie. Betrayal? Won't bat an eye. Voldemort's right hand man? Predictable. MANIPULARING ALL OF HERMIONE'S FRIENDS TO HATE HER?? 👀 low blow mate, low blow. I gotta say the thing I disliked most about this fic was the characterization of Hermione, Harry, and Draco. It just seemed so far from canon, and while I'm in no means a stickler for that type of stuff, they just felt like OCs. Also it was annoying how often Hermione cried. Now, wait, wait, don't get mad yet. I usually love when the main characters cry, like I'm actually wanting them to cry. I want them to let it out and I want someone to see because it hurts and I like crying with them and I love the scenes that follow. BUT half the time I didn't really get the reason she was crying, so I didn't cry with her and it was just awkward. . . Idk. Also I love you Hermione, but goddamn can you please mind your own damn business, always all up in Theo and Otto's every intimate moment. Like move along, it's aggravating, they can't have a single moment 😑 This fic started really strong, I loved the angst, and the friendships, but idk as it kept going on I was just so annoyed the whole time.
This fic started off strong. I love a good hogwarts fic and found myself quickly invested, as well as intrigued with where the story was going.
I was really enjoying this but around halfway through it REALLY started to drag. Especially during the part where Hermione and Theo were traveling. That could have been cut down HEAVILY because i found myself less and less invested as it dragged on. For more than 300 pages nothing happened. Both in the plot and in the dramione ship (as they barely interacted during that time—and when they did, it was all repetitive lovey dovey stuff)It started to feel like I was reading a completely different, and much more boring, story. So yea, this story DEFINITELY had pacing issues.
I’m not saying I hated that part of the story or anything. There were some great moments. But, as I said, it dragged on for way longer than necessary. And as much as I love Theo in this, it got annoying when the story became ALL about him and 90% of the last 400 pages was just everyone talking about how much they loved Theo 🙄
Overall though, this was def a fun read for the first 50%. So disappointed that that everything after that turned the fic from great to ok.
This book sure took me through every single emotion. In another alternate Harry Potter universe, I believe this could have one of THE books in the series.
Always love when dramione fanfics are set when they are at hogwarts.
It Was a repetitive at times most of the chapters. I feel like the part that resembled deathly hallows ,was good but I was also expecting more drama. but alas it was beautifully written and it had me hooked all the way through. The chapters that mirrored half blood prince, was amazing! 🤩
I was crying, laughing going through Every emotion while reading. Will always love Draco and Hermione, but Theo Nott is up there with them. He has my heart! ❤️
I also love the found family within in this story and unexpected allies. The friendship with Theo and Hermione was everything and more but also the friendship between Hermione and Charlie, was unexpected but so wholesome! 🥹
Dramione fanfic. Rewrite of their last year in Hogwarts. Harry is not very nice and shuns Hermione because she defended Draco. Ginny replaces Hermione in the horcrux search, which annoyed me to no end. While Hermione is traveling around the world getting help for the war. I’ll take Dramione in any form I can get them, but some stories I like more than others. This one was not my favorite.
One thing I loved? Charlie Weasley.
PS. This book should have a warning about how many vomit scenes it has. Every time something bad happened, someone was vomiting, and you know how many bad things happened during this time at Hogwarts. Ugh, it even included the bits and pieces being retched, it was awful.
okay the beginning was so good and i was like surely this will be five stars, then the run happened up until the battle of hogwarts ( which i won’t spoil how that played out) and even though it was like 30 chapters it felt kinda rushed and slight mischaracterisation occurred i was still like no it deserves a four stars even though i didn’t enjoy it as much as the school stuff. BUT GOD WTF WAS THAT EPILOGUE IT TOTALLY THONED MY PERSPECTIVE AND IT MAKES ME WANT TO RETCH ITS FUCKING VILE (2.5 stars but i’ll give it that 3 for the good start)
I liked the start of this story. It was intriguing and different.
However, as I continued, it felt in some ways like two books: 6th year and 7th year. While I liked the "gathering" of other orders and meeting the European wizarding community, it felt like too many introductions and not enough time. It became too crowded a bit tedious--might have needed to either cut superfluous characters or lengthen the story to contain all the new characters/stories.
I absolutely loved the beginning and middle of this book. The writing style is superb. But the ending was a bit lackluster to me. Don’t get me wrong I always enjoy the other characters but towards the end the story felt more about their friends and less about Dramione. Even their magic was not as impressive as other people’s patronuses, many signature moments were not theirs and they did not get to team up much together. Still a really great read though!
This book was something else. I really enjoyed this book. All the characters were very well written, Theo and Otto and Charlie. I loved the friendship and love that came from them. It was a bit long and I felt angry at some parts that hermoine was partying and laughing when everyone was had to fight and struggle.

describing dumbledore as a "wizened wizard" is just one way of putting me off. draco also doesn't talk 'properly' and it's just so jarring. characters are all quite ooc and dramione's actual relationship doesn't make sense. not sure how else to describe the dialogue other than it feeling like i'm reading an episode of barbie dreamhouse. dnf chapter 23
Theo's the most perfect person ever, and he literally deserves the whole and entire world.
I honestly would've whished that Narcissa would've been little less prejudiced towards the end, but at least she was queen enough to kill his ugly husband

What a creative retelling that really gave such depth to more side characters. I really really loved Theo in this. He was a fantastic character and honestly so underrated.
My God where do I begin! This is in my top 3 best fanfictions. I cried almost this entire thing. It broke my heart, put it back together and then broke it again. I could not put this down and this had some of the most beautiful and heart wrenching scenes I’ve ever read. 10/10
This was a great retelling of the final year of the story. The dramonie was sweet and snarky and a wee bit spicy. Theo was wonderful and his relationships with all the characters was a joy to read. The plot was very well fleshed out and gripping.
3.5 Stars 🧙🧙♀️🧙♂️ This fic definitely got me out of a slump and I missed reading fanfic so much! I liked the plot a lot but the characters and stakes did weaken a little as it went on. Still a great read and a great HBP au!
10/10, beautiful story, was really well written. was really different to the original plot but it was still so good. wished the war lasted a bit longer but i love how the war ended. i adore theo and hermiones friendship. it’s perfect. love a gay theo. so glad he lived.
DNF'd at 44% I feel like it was getting a bit too long, I also didn't like how Hermione kept on getting dragged left and right by her friends. Where the hell is her backbone?! Also, some of Draco's behaviour just pissed me off to no end.

DNF 78% The first 50% was really fun to read, but then after they faked their deaths it just got like REALLY BORING, and also Theo and Otto’s relationship was just too cheesy I cannot imagine him acting like that.
