A good Healer, they say, must use his Gift professionally. Really? No one in my past world would spout such nonsense! Everyone there knew full well what a Healer from the Order was capable of... And they also know that a Healer doesn’t have to kowtow to anybody. But now, I’m no longer in that world. And in this world, I am not only a great Healer, I am also a great count, one that can do far more than heal, as my enemies know full well. But little do they know that I’ve only just begun! I’m on my way to restoring the Bulatov Family’s fiefdom, and I have everything I need now, including forces from another world. Yes, why wouldn’t Offworlders want to serve me? After all, the benefits I provide are excellent, especially the health care. Of course, in return they must work hard... What can I say? Either work, or keep out of my way!
I'm still enjoying the series, however, this edition was subpar.
It's been a great series that's fun, entertaining and engaging. This was a weaker edition with editing issues and a bit of trouble when the story started to include school humor that took away some of the immersement of the story. The story moves towards cheap laughs with situational comedy instead of the light-hearted logical diabolical thinking that the main character has been portraying from the start. It was fast-paced and enjoyable but the immersion aspect of being logically in place following the story was lost with the cheap childish humor. I purchased these books and I look forward to February where I'll probably read the last three at once. It's a worthwhile series to read, simple fun and escapism.
I received a review copy of this book. The Healer's Way is the 7th book in the series, and things appear to be coming to a head. Yeah, they've been heading that direction for a while, but it looks like the final showdown is in the very near future. This series just keeps rolling, the action is great, and the main character just keeps surprising with his actions. (well, his actions aren't surprising, but perhaps the results are). It's a good story, and if you've enjoyed any of the previous books, feel free to add this one to your read list, it's a good one as well.
The 7th book of the series doesn't let down the readers. There is plenty of action, the usual comedic aspects and some progress. I love how the authors keep track of the multitude of layers of the story and keep adding to them constantly. This keeps the story fresh and the reader entertained.
I rather liked that the hero constantly to react to ever changing circumstances and also faces major setbacks. This makes him being Op more sufferable.
Until this book i assumed that the healer, hunter and architect series take place in the same universe. Given the statements about the imperial physician this seems not the case. The Androsov clan seems more competent..
Man! The gloves are off. It's time to use the big guns. Not that Mikhail Bulatov and his forces have been slacking, not at all and they've all been getting stronger. Especially Kooky the dive bombing spy Pigeon who's not only gotten stronger but now controls a Legion of spy Pigeons all networked together. Mikhail's team have even managed to get (steal😆) a jet and helicopters. And of course the offworlders are still trying to portal in and steal everything including people! But not on Mikhail's land he won't alow it! So yeah you absodamnlutely need to get the book and enjoy this action-packed litRPG.
I have enjoyed this Russian fantasy series but it is starting to get repetitive. The Healer-from-another-world is overpowered and keeps battling counts, dukes, and barons who are all entitled, arrogant, power hungry, and act on these impulses. While the Healer keeps upping his circle of enemies and allies, not much has really changed and so the plot is not advancing. The appeal of the books is seeing how the Healer (Mikhail) collects and uses his allies and out maneuvers his enemies, but we need a little more at this point.
We have come a long way with this series. I received an ARC of this book to check the translation from Russian to English. I found plenty of mistakes, but that is the purpose of an ARC. I sent in my list of corrections. However sometimes they get published before the mistakes are fixed, so if you see one report it so it can be fixed and the next person can have a smoother read.
Humor, action, and intrigue are woven together to form a delightful fun story. The underestimated Count continues to fight wars with neighboring aristocrats who covet his family's lands. He is in danger of outing himself as being more powerful than perceived, since he needs to up his game to help protect the area from invaders from a parallel world. I look forward to the next book.
These books remain interesting. The issues of consistency persist, along with other problems. The author has done well to just ignore romantic aspects. He has a very feministic view of relationships, as seen is his other books, so I hope he puts it off as long as possible. There were already hints though. It's so off-putting having the MC, a powerful, rich, centuries-old mage, sounding like a anime pre-teen.
Less errors (continuity/logic and so on) than usual for a Sapphire connected series but still there are some in each instalment.
The audio narration for this series though.. Its not great. There are far to many repeated narrator errors that get truly annoying after awhile. Made me wonder if the narration isn't VAI and the errors are in the text.
Keeps entertaining. Full of action and situations where the main character can cause mayhem. My humour is dry. This book ticks the right boxes in terms of maintaining your interest. I'm looking forward to books 8/9+10.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
Will our dashing healer fight to save the day? Will the pigeon be cooler? Will I read the next book in the series? YES!! HELL YES!! I pre-ordered it already!!
Seven books in and this series is still able to make me laugh. I know it's silly, but I still enjoy it. Even though the books are so short, and strung out with wait times.
A new Reader would be able to just pick these up and devour them.
An excellent story and as it continues, it just stays good. The storyline is straightforward and the plot isn’t overly complex, but it’s still very entertaining and keeps you invested in the story.
It was fun to see a little bit of capital life and all the stuff that went down there. It was nice to break things up because the building up of the family can sometimes be a bit repetitive. Now I'm all caught up with the excellent audiobooks, sigh.
This story of a archmage healer taking over the life of a lowly healer Count was fantastic. Using a modified pigeon as his familiar was super fantastic.
