After a teeny incident with red paint, my hometown votes that it’s done with my activist ways . . .
Now I’m on an entirely different planet, holding a single suitcase, standing on a platform, waiting for my new alien husband to arrive . . .

I bite my lip as I wait because there’s one serious problem with this whole situation . . . after a best forgotten, one-night stand gone wrong . . . I’m three months pregnant and obviously this baby won’t be his!

My rancher husband parks his vehicle next to me -- looking like Satan himself.
I manage to not choke with fear.

His dark, assessing gaze pauses at the slight swell of my stomach.
He inhales deeply and gives a curt nod. “Get in,” he orders. “Now you’re both mine.”

Oh my . . . I leap into the vehicle beside him . . . it turns out I have a thing for sweaty, bare chested, hard muscled men who breathe fire. Who knew?

Author’s Notes: There is no cheating or OM drama. "His Human Rebel" can be read as a standalone within the larger series, Monsters Love Curvy Girls but is best enjoyed directly after His Human Runaway (Thorn & Mica) and Her Alien Husband (Burl & Lucy's story). Only read if you enjoy satanic-looking heroes and mouthy, curvy girl heroines!

it was a alright, cute story

It’s a cute story but there was a lot of pacing back and forth on the same subjects and the ending with all her ex-coworkers coming to beg for her back-could have been cut out-it was a bit goofy and the whole emphasis on Rakes people being so scary. I find it hard to believe every human thinks they are scary and monsters. I didn’t really care for Stella to much either, I felt like she was more rude than bold and uncaring of Rakes feelings. Rake was just bland or rather just like every other male character in these types of books. Only lives to serve his female and has no personality really. Some of the other characters were interesting but they weren’t around enough for me to care. Near halfway towards the end the book felt rushed out and when it finally got to the steamy part I really just wanted to skip it because it was delayed to long.though I have to say the first kitchen scene was good. All of this made me give it a 3 stars.

Rake won some points with me from the get-go:
1)knowing he likes “her spirited personality” because “she will not be boring” ✅
2)knows Stella is pregnant and already determined to claim them as his✅
3)being a gentleman ✅ and wants to “earn her love”💛
😆I hope you LYAO when you get to the part about her mugshot🤭

I can’t believe it’s been A YEAR since I read one of these, LOVE the series & miss these Satan looking Hyrrokin men❤️❤️‍🔥💋❤️‍🔥❤️ HOWEVER toooo much repeating same things over and over etc…, so yes minus -1 star!!

🐾🐾 “tiny beasts”= kittens 😸😸 a.k.a. Coco & Boots
How awesome would that be to have your own laser hair removal unit in your bathroom…lol

😶 Find it strange she arrives on the planet and they put her outside to wait for her “bound” (hubby)… 🫤
AND it was never said how all those town people overrode/bypassed the code lock for the transporter and for free too, I hope Mytrina was able to make them each pay!! Those were all very awful people😡

This is a NO for me

I really like this series and most of the books are very good. There are about four that have not set right with me. This book is at the top of the list. I actually dislike the main female character with fierce intensity. I know, I know, I'm a female, and I should love an OTT feminist who causes trouble in the name of good, is loud, obnoxious, and all about herself. Well, I did not, at all. She is so self-centered and annoying, and her thoughts and ideas about pretty much everything, especially relationships, are simply stupid.

I felt so sorry for Rake, and he's a fictional character. He must be a masochist to put up with her.

I love Rake, his whole Hyrokkin family, all the animals and Tarvos, so I gave it two stars. I won't ever re-read this one.

I’ve read almost every book in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series and every one of them has been a great read.
The MMC in His Human Rebel, is an alien that resembles what we know as the Devil. Red skin, forked tongue, long pointy tale, claw-like hands, huge black horns, and he can breathe fire.
Luckily, he doesn’t act like what we imagine the Devil would. He’s kind but protective and, when a pregnant, human woman is banished to his planet as his bride, he does everything he can to make her comfortable. He really wants her to stay but she’s not sure she fits in.
A fun, thoroughly entertaining, easy read, His Human Rebel is a wonderful addition to the series.

His Forever

Stella is sent to Tavros as punishment for her outspoken nature and being pregnant out of wedlock. But once she meets her new husband she decides to give their relationship a chance. Rake loves everything about Stella knows her and her baby are meant to be his in this sweet read.

Terrible. Didn't like it at all

It was boring. It was all about her talking and thinking about the same thing, going back to earth and reminding him that she wasn't good for him. To return her and acquire a new bride. No action in this story and not even intimacy. I'm surprise a book can be written with nothing but garbage. surprised as how many pages can be written with the same topic and nothing else. All thru the book it was the same topic explained to different people over and over again. The town selling her as a bride and how it happened, really? unbelievable!! I liked all the other books in the monsters love curvy girls so I didn't expect this one to be such disappointment.

His Human Rebel is the 12th book in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series by Michelle Mills.

I really dislike writing negative reviews, especially when it's on a book written by an author I usually enjoy. I honestly feel this was a total flop, and here's why.

First of all, Stella is infuriating, annoying, and he should have sent her noncommittal self packing. I NEVER once felt her love for Rake, not ever. I got tired of the repetitive whining about her freedom while asking Rafe to express his devotion to her and her unborn child over and over. Also, if you love your body (and I fully support you if you do), Rafe obviously did. I don't need to read about that constantly, either. As for Rafe, he deserved better. He was described as a devil but was actually a doormat. Sadly, this was a very disappointing addition to this series.

I love this series, and this book didn't dissapoint.
The author is one of my favourites, and this story shows why I love her and all the series she has written.
The story was well written, and I love how she included some of her other characters from the series, and yet it is still a standalone, quick read, if that is what you want.
I love this series, and this book didn't dissapoint.

This story was so disappointing

I really like the his human series, but they are starting to disappoint me. This story is 169 pages long but if you remove all the repeating it would shorten the story considerably. Stella to me was a whiner who needed to constantly booster up her importance. If the next book is like this one then I am afraid it will be my last.

This book is rough. The first 30 pages are the worst and I almost stopped but stuck it out because I’ve enjoyed other books in this series.

Is she comfortable with her fat body? She says that. Is she worried about being “wiggly” and back fat rolls and “too heavy”? She says that also. Is she a decisive confident rebel who fights for those who can’t defend themselves? She says that. Is she wishy-washy can’t decide what she wants? She says that too. It’s all over the place and changes from page to page.

It reads like the author HAD to write this book not that they WANTED to write this book. Let the series end. Move on to something else you’re passionate to write about. I’ve read every book in this series and this one wasn’t worth it.

It's absolutely bland and boring 💤😴

I have read all 11 books in this series, and compared to those books, this book is absolutely boring. It felt like the author wrote this book, just the sake of finishing the series. I have also read Michele Mills's other books(non series),and they were absolutely captivating, but this one is totally disappointing.. both characters keep repeating the same thoughts over and over again. I had to skip many paragraphs so I could just get to the epilog, which was absolutely unexciting. 👎

Ehhh

Ehhh... It was ok, definitely not my favorite. Which is a bummer bc I was really looking forward to it. Spoiler... Kinda...

There was barely any spice. They get to oral at 72% and they FINALLY had smex when there was only 3 minutes left of the book. No joke. Plus lots of editing issues. The fmc was annoying, with not wanting to commit fully. Just not something I'm going to read again.

His Human Rebel is the story of Rake and Stella Flagstone.

Tropes:
Marriage of convenience or punishment
Age gap a little
HEA and a son named Gavin
Pregnant, pretty, intelligent and kind heroine
Hot broody burly hyrrokin rancher hero
Slow burn
Touch her and you die

She is a teacher on Tarvos and had a little incident in her town with red paint and she got kicked out for it and lost her job and had to marry someone out of punishment which was Rake but she found him super hot and she was his future bound that's why he bought her. He buys her and he finds out she's pregnant with another mans baby but doesn't care and says the baby and her are his. She tries to make him change his mind but he isn't swayed. They really get along and even sleep in the same room and she meets all of his workers and the animals and they have cats named Coco and Boots. She then finds out she's having a boy and at this point she's met his whole family and Lucy who is Burl's bound and Mica who is Thorn's bound. She is heavily pregnant at this point and they are bound now since her one month was almost up and she knew she was falling for him. Now five months later and she was getting restless with arousal so she asked him to relief her but not go all the way as to penetrate her and so she helped him too. She then gave birth and had their son named Gavin who Rake claimed as his. Mind you she's pregnant all during rainy season so there isn't much. Her former fellow teachers come from town come to pick her up because they were wrong and apologise and offer her numerous jobs but she declines and her former best friend Julia called her bound a monster which was out of line so she sent them all of or so her hubby did. She slayed that. Julia also stopped being friends with her the moment she found out the she was pregnant because she was disgusted like you're disgusting lmao. Rake doesn't talk much with his family but he could talk all day with Stella. Moving on after a couple of weeks after her C section because she wasn't improving properly, there was no intercourse for 6 weeks but its been 3 months so she decides to take that next level and oh boy is it hot asf. She wants to get preggers again heeheheehhe. She likes riding the animals and doing ranch work and she is really loud like me so I love her character.

Solid 3.75/5, could've been a bit more smutty just a smidge.

Quotes:
Rake looks me up and down again and nods. “Now you’re both mine. Get in the vehicle.”
My eyes widen. “Wait. What?” I’m startled for a moment at this declaration. What does he mean? But then I think through what he said. Hmm. He knows about the baby and he’s not bothered? That’s a big deal. “You know that I’m pregnant?”
“Yes.”
“And you don’t care that it’s human and it won’t be yours?”
“You’re both mine,” he confirms.

“She also carries the offspring of another human male in her womb,” I continue, “and will give birth during the rainy season. This other male is not her mate and is not ever going to be this child’s father. Therefore, I am declaring that Stella’s human child is mine and will be raised as a Flagstone. When she accompanies me to the courthouse, I will formally adopt this child. I expect all of you to treat her pregnancy as if this child were biologically mine. We will raise this human offspring in the same tradition we would if he or she were Hyrrokin.”
She glances at me with surprise.
I pull her closer and place a hand over her lower stomach. “They are both mine.”

I stand and scoop her out of the chair, lifting her in my arms, then sit back in my own reclining chair, with my female on my lap and against my chest.
“What? Oh, you don’t have to do this. I’m…I’m sort of heavy. Am I squishing you?”
“Heavy? You are small and light as air.”
“I love it when you say that.”

She leans against me and rests her cheek against my chest. “Ooh, you are warm.” Then she sighs with delight and snuggles closer.
Pride glows in my chest as I hold her close in front of all the other males. I know they are jealous that I have a female who allows me to protect her in this way. This is another mark of my possession. I have not yet mated with her, nor have I walked with her to the courthouse. She does not carry my offspring in her womb, but they know she is mine and that I am protecting them both.

"His Human Rebel" is a book I am very sorry I didn't enjoy, especially since it is written by Michele Mills, one of my favourite authors in the smut genre. However, in this case, it just didn't work.
The plot has a promising foundation, but the execution is where it falters. The characters lack the depth to truly engage the reader, and the writing style is a source of frustration. The constant internal monologues and repetitive dialogues make the narrative feel like a tiresome loop.
The title, "His Human Rebel," does not reflect the attitude of the protagonist at all. Stella is not a rebel, as suggested, but rather a brusque person who insists on imposing her rhetoric over and over again. Her constant repetition of the same points drove me to the end of wanting to go into the book and slap him a couple of times.
On the other hand, Rake, the male protagonist, is disappointingly one-dimensional. His lack of depth and quick emotional shifts make the character dynamics with Stella feel unbalanced and uninteresting.
This criticism pains me greatly, but I cannot recommend the book. It's bland and different from what I usually expect from this author.

This is a good sci-fi alien romance. It gets 4 stars from me.

My only issue, and this was minor, was that it was too short to have as much character development as I like. I would have liked a little more backstory on both Stella and Rake, but especially on Stella.

Stella was likable, and it was sad how her job/town had treated her, simply because she didn't fit in with their patriarchal, misogynistic society. It was terrible that they were able to kick her out of town, and sign her up as a mail-order bride without her consent. I did think, though, that she took far too long to trust Rake -- he never gave her any reason not to trust him, but she was kind of wishy-washy about that.

Rake was an absolute sweetheart. I loved that he immediately accepted Stella's unborn child as his own, and was willing to wait as long as she needed before being intimate. Not many men would have been willing to wait as long as he did. He was also very understanding when he found out that she had been forced to be a mail-order bride. Even though he knew she was his mate, he gave her as much time as possible to decide if she wanted to stay with him.

I liked that curvy girls were considered beautiful in Rake's world, since everyone on his planet was much larger than any human. I also liked that Rake was so very honorable, and gave her time to learn to trust him. I also liked that the other Hyrokkin were so welcoming to Stella (and all humans). They immediately wanted to help her when they heard her story.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Simply wonderfully captivating read, woman wronged by her community finds true love
This was an old-fashioned romance where a young woman who believed in standing up for those in need is treated terribly by her community. A school teacher that genuinely loved her job abd her students is forced to leave her home town as well when it is discovered she is pregnant.
Stella had been unaware that she was pregnant and had been in shock, still she had been evicted from her home and without being allowed to speak with her mother is transported to who knows where to be a mate for some unknown male.
Stella had been up front and honest with her Hyrrokin mate that she has been evicted from her own planet and is three months pregnant with a human baby and is able to leave the planet and return to live with her mother until her baby is born, she is a qualified teacher and excelled at her job winning awards and the love and recognition of her young students, only the adults treated her badly,
Her bound mate os Rake Flagstone and from the moment he sees her he knows that she is his bound mate and wants to spend the rest if his days showing her how much she and the baby she caries means to him. Stella is touched by the kindness, care and acceptance she has received since moving to her Hyrrokin mates home world.
I guarantee that there are plenty of twists and turns to this tale and someone definitely wanted her gone and set the “Paint in Motion”.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Okay. So. Stella gets shipped off to Tarvos against her will and she's basically sold into a marital contract (which Rake things is a consensual mail order bride type deal, so he's not to blame ofr any of this) all because she had a one-night stand and ended up pregnant? I think the idea that she would even WANT to return to that town and those people is just MEH.

Seriously. Rake adored her and treated her like a queen and she was holding onto the idea that she might want to go back. Girl, I know change can be hard and all that, but NO.

Anywho. Stella ends up on Tarvos. Rake is a perfect gentleman and offers her every possible out you can imagine once he finds out she never agreed to the marriage contract. Legally, Stella has a month to decide if she wants to go through with things. Over that month, these two work on getting to know one another. Which results in a little steam and spark between the two of them on more than one occasion.

Things move quickly, Rake is absolutely smitten with both Stella and her little bun from the first, Stella needs to figure out what she wants before it's too late. No worries, everything turns out a-okay in the end and the terrible people who forced her into the situation get their just desserts in the end. Which I quite enjoyed.

Stella & Rake

This is another hit for Michelle!!

This is a story with many missteps that lead to something fantastic. Stella didn't expect to be expelled from New Earth, and then sold to another man as a mail order bride. Rake though he'd try what worked for one of his brothers. He was getting older and wanted to settle down.

Stella didn't even know she was pregnant until the day she got expelled. Rake and his people do have a bit of.a scary look at first, but sometimes when you get to know someone you don't concentrate on all that stuff.

This is a fantastic love story. Even in another world, and everything is foreign and different there is romance. Rake is giving Stella all the space and time to decide what she wanted. He never did more than remind her he was ready to claim her and her son as his own. It really shows such heart and patience while Rake let Stella set the place for the entire ride.

It turns out the more time she spends with Rake, his ranch, and family she falls in love with it all. Don't get me wrong--there is def a scorch ghost pepper heat to be read, but it all makes the story work together perfect!

Rating: 2/5

Primary Tropes/Features: Paranormal romance, Interspecies romance, Opposites attract, Plus size heroine, Pregnancy, Mail-order-bride

Safety warning/Triggers:

Stella and Rake's book was an easy opposites attract romance where a woman wronged finds love and acceptance with a loner and his family. Making for a fast paced and overall easy read, the book covers a period of time longer than what I've read in others from this series and can be read as a complete standalone without any confusion. Stella and Rake were likeable characters and there were likeable elements to their romance and its development. However, whether it was hearing how they got married in absentia numerous times in just a few short paragraphs or a switch in perspective that then recapped everything I'd just read it felt like there was a lot of repetition and for a book which was already short without much development (plot or character wise) and chapters where it told more than showed my overall enjoyment lessened.

Schoolteacher Stella (h) never expected her fight for women’s rights in a small patriarchal community on New Earth, and her accidental pregnancy, to end with her railroaded to the distant planet of Tarvos and married to a massive, horned demon-looking Hyrrokin, Rake (H). She has to deal with her fears, pregnancy, and the challenges of an arranged marriage with Rake, but as she gets to know Rake, she finds that the introverted rancher may be just the mate she needs, if she's willing to give him a chance. Rake is so sweet, patient, and understanding with Stella as he tries to make her see what she can have for herself and her unborn child. He has no problems accepting her as his, even with the little something extra she brings - he even lets her bring two fur babies into their bedroom...awwww. The family and friends are all so supportive of Rake and Stella's relationship, even as Stella wonders if everything is too good to be true. Hot and steamy alien-human, curvy girl romance, exploring love, connection, belonging, family, and more.

Rake and Stella. Stella , human, is an activist that stands up to inequalities, women and children's rights, and corruption. She's a teacher in the town she lives in. The towns people sends her off because they're tired of her loud protests and she's pregnant out of wedlock ( a no no to this backwards small community). She ends up being a mail order bride to a Hyrrokin rancher. Rake wants a wife and family now that his house is built. He needs someone willing to live in the wilds. When he chooses Stella, he though she knew the deal until he learns she had no knowledge. Now he must convince her to stay and be his bound and the father to her unborn human child.
Rake is so sweet, understanding, protective, and lovable. Stella is one strong minded woman that faces life upfront.
Wonderful characters, steamy, love at first sight, drama filled and HEA.

Stella is considered a rebel because she protests the injustice of those who are taking advantage of those who are less fortunate. Unfortunately for her, the town she finds herself living in is a little backward with their way of thinking. So, in trying to get her out of their hair, they get her arrested and sign her up as a bride, finding her a husband on another planet. Luckily for Stella, Rake is her Hyrrokin husband, and the moment he meets Stella, he knows she is his. He'll do what he needs to do to convince her to stay with him forever.

Love the narrators; they did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. they both kept me engaged and chucking throughout this whole story.

This is definitely a great addition to this series. Every time I think I'm over the humans reaction to the Hyrrokin, I find myself giggling each time it happens. Michele Mills never disappoints with her books!

THIS SERIES IS ALWAYS A GOOD READ!

I love this series because of the curvy women and the Hyrrokins. I liked the characters of Rake and Stella (great name reminds me of the actor Marlon Brando). It was nice for the female lead to be a proponent for women’s rights well anybody’s rights. I really liked the sense of family in this book it was a nice touch. Ms. Mills included in this book from unwed motherhood, women’s rights, prejudice, small community and being loved for who you are and not judged on your appearance. Ms. Mills writes so wonderfully and great details of where they live you can visually picture it in your mind so easily. The reason for 4-stars is the lack of a real protagonist. I know the people from her last job sort of filled that purpose but it wasn't enough for me. I think the character Erid would make an interesting book because of his love for the law and a woman with a law degree would make for interesting dialogue.

I love the colors on the cover. I’ve seen some really gorgeous covers with plus sized models. But there is just something about this model’s face that is so off putting. From the lips down, it’s great, but from the lips up, it’s hard to look at.

I don’t enjoy books where the heroine is already pregnant with another man’s baby and she falls in love with someone else. It’s never been my cup of tea and this time is no different. The fact that the other man is an alien doesn’t matter. Rake is great for stepping up and taking on Stella’s baby as his own, but that doesn’t negate the rest of the story.

As per usual with Michele Mills books, it was a quick, insta love story. But it wasn’t my favorite by any means.

The Love They Both Needed In Their Life

OMG! This hit the spot 🙌🏻 I was in the mood for a growly & protective MMC, as well as a FMC which needed someone to accept her as she was & some TLC, and when you added in the he-didn’t-have-to-claim-my-child-as-his-own-but-he-did 🥰, well I was in heaven 😍 Each book in this series has just been the perfect blend of sweet, romantic, spicy, & humorous with just the right amount of drama & angst thrown in so that it’s not too easy on our peeps to get their HEA. Rake & Stella took me on an entertaining journey that made my heart smile. This will hit a little differently if you read His Human Runaway & Her Alien Husband first, but even if you don’t, you can still thoroughly enjoy it as a standalone. Can’t wait for the next one ❤️

I have read each and every one of this series and I have loved them all. While all on the same basis of a lovely human lady finding her happiness and a large Hyrrokin male finding his bound, they all have their own stories. What does remain the same is the great writing that pulls you in and makes you care about the couples, the banter that makes you laugh and the just the right amount of humour and spice to make them addictive.
Stella has been sent to Tavros rather than make a decision herself to go there. She also discovers that it is not just her that she will need to look after in the future. This does rather affect how she acts and reacts to those around her. Rake is just gorgeous. He has an absolute heart of gold along with endless patience and respect for others. If only there were more like him about!

Another fun romance with the Hyrrokin. I just can't get enough of them. Maybe I'm too desensitized, but why do all these women scream (and sometimes faint) at the first sight of this race? Must be the monsterlover in me. *Wink* I loved both Rake and Stella. I liked her sense of equality and justice- even if it came back to bite her.

'I need to be the change I want to see in the world.
If not me, then who?'

She was strong and didn't crumble and was determined to make the best of her new situation, as well as her surprise pregnancy. I liked their first meeting, and loved the chapter of it from Rake's point of view. I was curious how the alien lead would react to his bride being already pregnant, but I loved his mindset. I liked the way they were able to talk things out and the chemistry between them was sizzling. 5 stars.
