Now let me say this book has a prelude Crowned Maddens which gives insight into what is to come here in Ruined Vows. But even if you weren’t able to read that you can keep up because Sherelle does a good summary in the first few chapters. This book was so good y’all we finally know the hero is Pope Maverick and the heroine is Honey Crowne. Now this is an enemies to lovers but also a second chance romance! Like what?! Pope and Honey realize early on that they can’t deny what they’re feeling while they sort through a series of unfortunate events and the relaunching of The Dark Trinity. I feel like this book is launching us into a darker side of the Crownes and Carter’s book in the Maddens. One thing about Honey is she lived her name through and through, she was light for the Mavericks family and if I had one wish I wish had more time to get to know her as a character. I feel like we’ve had an idea on Pope and honestly, this story was more about him, his family, becoming a governor in TDT, and him finally finding love. The plot twist with the Wolfe family was wild and I wanted to dig more into that because Chando what was that?? Big Yikes! Also Jahlid situation with D-Rob?!? Wow. There was a theme around sexuality that was interesting to me between Gramps's situation and D-Rob that I haven’t been able to find the words for but it definitely intrigued me to see those two angles on sexuality. Also, I loved the parallels between Mason (Crowned Madden) and Pope in the church. I loved that and it brought that connection together for me! So many twists and turns in this book! Suspense, action, family, love, and definitely erotic! There was a conference table scene with Pope and Honey and whew I was mouth open the whole scene! Girl that was a bit much for even me! lol overall an amazing fun read and journey into a new series and I hope y’all all check it out!!

in 2024, i read both the crowne legacy and to marry a madden series, and i absolutely love everything about these books! sherelle green quickly became one of my favourite authors, and this book right here is proof that she's here to stay!

not only did they give us a killer enemies-to-lovers storyline, but second chance as well?!? i'm SOLD. i remember reading creed's book and feeling bad for pope bc of how it all went down. to see him FINALLY get his happy ending with honey makes my heart full!
i also love all the little cameos we've gotten in these books. getting to see some of the madden brothers, and also the crowne family - i just love them all so much! the found family in this series is unlike any other, they all hold such a special place in my heart <33

Oh My goodness! I was hoping that Pope would find someone who would truly love him and that he could love in return. However when the arranged marriage to Honey was put in place I didn’t know whether to be happy or wonder if one one would kill the other before they realized they loved each other 😂😂.
This was a really good read I just wished it had been longer🙃

This is a book I started to dislike because of one of the main characters, Pope. Eventho he was treated wrong by a Crowne in a previous book, I still had no sympathy for him because of his arrogance and personality. I hate what happened to Honey Crowne, his first secret love, but I came around to like how things started to fall into place. I do believe people will benefit by starting to read from book one and everything will fall into place. I also Love how the Maddens fit into this book!

Ruined Vows is the first book in USA Today bestselling author Sherelle Green’s Maverick Dynasty series. Honey Crowne Maverick was groomed to marry someone affiliated with the Dark Trinity organization. However, there is more to Honey than meets the eye. She owns a trader analyst business called HoneyWise and is well versed in the stock market. Pope Maverick is taking over the family’s Dark Trinity role, as well as, running Maverick enterprises with his brothers. In Crowned Maddens, it was implied that Honey and Pope had a past. Pope’s feelings for Honey were revived the moment they were married, as evidenced by their explosive kiss. As I read on, the kiss was much more significant. Their physical connection was strong, but Pope couldn’t articulate his feelings. Honey didn’t want to be attracted to Pope, but her body couldn’t deny it. He had swag.
Like the Crowne series, the gritty story related to the Dark Trinity and the Maverick’s runs parallel with Honey and Pope’s passion-filled journey. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, Ms. Green dropped a bomb of deceit and betrayal that I wasn’t expecting. Prayer has a strong presence, and it is fitting that a special figure encourages Pope to pray from his heart. The strong supporting cast also includes the Crownes. I like a mafia mystery with these three components - a love story with a possessive man, a spicy sexy relationship, and some violence cause mafia. This book was mediocre cause while it was an arranged marriage - one of my favorite romance tropes - even that took awhile to kick in.
Pope is from the Maverick family. Honey is from the Crowne family. A marriage arrangement is formed to join these two criminal families who are part of a criminal syndicate. Pope and Honey fight the arrangement for the first 4-6 months of their marriage…but then some circumstances happen that draws them closer together.
Honestly though the various families and the way the syndicate works was confusing. Too many people to remember besides Pope’s big family. The book was okay. The love story between Pope and Honey okay. The people attacking Pope’s business was okay.
I’m not sure I will be reading more in this series. Borrowed this from Kindle Unlimited.

First, I love that this book centered older characters & I wish that I wasn’t too impatient to read this because I now want to go back and read every Madden & Crowne book because I’m so intrigued by these characters! I loved this book so much. I thought it was just an enemies to lovers/arranged marriage but it had a surprise second chance romance! The chemistry and attraction between Pope & Honey was palpable!! And I know the “hate” that they had for each other truly was just because they hated that they loved each other fr lol. Sometimes in arranged marriage tropes it’s hard to pinpoint the moment that the couple accepts their love but it was clear in this book when the shift happened. I loved the suspenseful elements and plot twists. And hopefully as subsequent books come out we find out what happened to Patrick.

This was such an amazing book and I can’t wait for more from the Maverick Dynasty series. Pope and Honey were a perfect match once they were able to let their guards down and trust each other. I had a feel in that some things about the notes they both found weren’t what they seemed and I’m hoping that gets revealed soon. Pope was so in love with Honey and vise versa. It was beautiful to see them finally connect and really get their happily ever after despite their unconventional start. I loved the banter between Pope and Honey and they kept me laughing with their pettiness. The bonus scenes and epilogue were amazing as always and left me wanting more. This is definitely a must read.

I didn't know what would happen with Pope and Honey's arranged marriage after reading the prelude but I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about their journey to love and their secrets that we had no clue about. Pope and Honey had my attention from the very beginning, especially with their back and forth because neither wanted to give in before the other. 😂😂 There was so much intrigue involved in this story that you didn't know what was going to happen next. As always, Ms. Greene kept us on pins and needles with this story. I can't wait to read the next book in the Maverick Dynasty series. This is an awesome book that you definitely need to pick up!!

It started as an arranged marriage to make the family empire more powerful, nothing more and nothing less.
However, Pope and Honey realized that their love could no longer be denied. The believable erotica scenes were described by emphasizing that only passion and releasing inhibitions can prevail.
Honey and Pope’s love making experiences were so beautiful and believable that readers could envision how to improve their relationships from mediocrity to intense and intriguing. You may want to consider purchasing you a jar of honey very soon❤️.

I had the pleasure of reading this great book. Who would have thought the Maddens and Crownes would be in crime together. And they are a force to be reckoned with.
Pope Maverick starts the series off with an arranged marriage to a woman he can’t stand or trust, Honey Crowne.
She feels the same way about him especially with her heart belonging to another man.
Well life happens and so does the arranged marriage along with all hell breaking loose. What they don’t see coming is the bond forming between them. They are truly a match made for each other in all aspects especially sexually. I can’t wait for the next book.

Excellent read, I loved the characters and storyline. Pope and Honey’s marriage was arranged. Their relationship was contentious, however, underneath the bickering love was brewing. This story erotic with plenty of action and intrigue. This is their journey to forever love. It was great catching up with the Mavericks, Crownes and the Maddens. Honey and Pope's story started out about how I expected those two fighting one another. But seeing them fall in love and reminisce about when they first met was so touching. banging start….
This series is already off to a banging start. Enemies to lovers is normally my least favorite trope. However this book was the exception. I loved it! The chemistry between Pope and Honey was off the charts HOT! I love the close family bonds with the Mavericks, the Crownes and the Maddens.

This book was aight. One of my issues for lack of a better word is how quickly Pope and Honey feel I love with each other. It didn’t seem organic to me. I know the author tried to add cases in their past in attempt to infer a previous connection to one another. I just didn’t feel it while reading. Also, D Rob’s reasoning for what he did to Javid was out of left field and did not add to the story.

This book was so satisfying! Pope and Honeys' story fell into place the way I wanted, but it certainly wasn't without its drama. This story also came with quite a few eye openers and surprises. This is definitely a great beginning for the rest of the Maverick Dynasty!

The rollercoaster!! I’m glad that even though initially they didn’t want to marry each other, they made it work. I was crying real tears when the shit went down with Honey and she saw her mom and just whew!! Epilogue…amazing! And 3 of them thangs!! Lol

Loved it!
Honey and Pope were so alluring and enigmatic! Their story and journey to love kept me locked in and ready for their journey. I enjoyed watching the layers to Pop slowly unfold. This was a great read!

This story was a full circle moment since they first met before on New Years. They both had a chip on their shoulder and they petty fights, too funny. However, once they really let the wall down they realized that they finally found their person. Overall great read.
