100% Must Read for a New Parent

From the first chapter, it really taught me to manage myself and understand myself more, so I can help manage my child’s emotions as well. I am diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder few years back so I have struggles within myself that might be passed on to my child, but this book helped me. I have more understanding about DBT. Thank you for putting effort and publishing this workbook. It’s like a therapy in a book that I can browse again whenever I need. This will really help a parent like me who has psychosocial disorder, to avoid passing on the negative disposition unconsciously.

Received this ARC for an honest review:

This isn't the type of book I typically read, so I struggled reading it.
I do believe there was some interesting and valid points in this book, as well as helpful techniques, games, and activities you can do with your child to promote emotional and mental growth, as well as your own mental growth.

I truthfully skimmed through the book as I didn't completely agree with some of the things that were written.

I think it holds powerful tools for those who struggle with anger, anxiety, and general emotional regulation. Even if you don't, I think it's a powerful tool for helping you regulate yourself as well as your child.

Definitely will be a valuable resource.
I really appreciated the conversational approach. It made for an easier read because it felt like I was talking with an acquaintance. I also loved the discussion of self-awareness of the parent to learn and be aware of their own triggers. It’s our responsibility to know/work on these things as our own person in order to help children be able to work through their own emotions. In turn, this will help with healthier responses, trust, and fostering a positive parent/child relationship. This book recognized that it is a continuous learning process.
