Classic Chase!

Another action packed Chase Gordon adventure that ties together plot lines from several prior books. Perfect for those of us who have binge read every story in order.

Only reason I didn’t give it five stars was the surprising number of typos, misspellings, incorrect words etc. I have never seen these to such a degree on past Douglas Pratt books. His editor certainly let him down.

5 Stars doesn't hardly do this one justice. Chase isn't even recovered from injuries he got in Red Light At Night when he is attacked by two goons. One ends up dead and the other disappears, but not before Gordon gets a serious knife wound. Amanda is the paramedic that attends to him and he later comes to her aid as he comes upon here "boyfriend", Bobby hitting her. Bobby is the nephew of a wannabe crime boss and it is clear he isn't going to let this go. How he goes about this is the cause of plenty of action. At the end of the last book, there were still 49 nuclear cones missing and now the plan is to lay the blame on Chase for all the damage that will be done with them, if they aren't stopped. Chase is placed in a lot of impossible situations.

More like a 3.5! Chase has been stuck on land for a while, recovering from injuries sustained in his last adventure.

It's starts with two "navy squids" attacking him on his dock for no reason. Enter Amanda, EMT fixing his knife wounds. Since he's having trouble sleeping trying to figure out what's going on, he heads to a local watering hole and steps in when a guy slaps a woman who turns out to be Amanda.

So there are two storylines, saving Amanda from the controlling ex (who it turns out has connections), and the constant attempts to kill him by persons unknown.

Chase is like a Reacher with shorts and flip flops, former Recon Marine and not one to mess with. A good adventure and easy to read.

PS- Missy or Amanda?

Green Flash - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Chase Gordon Tropical Thrillers Book 12, Green Flash by Douglas Pratt is a rip-roaring adventure where Chase, an unlikely vigilante with Reacher-like sympathy for the underdog, metes out his unique form of justice.
Great characters, non-stop action and a storyline that will grip you firmly by the imagination throughout, grab your copy of Green Flash, (a natural phenomenon...think of Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End) today - and buckle up for a wild ride!

This was a fast paced thriller again. Chase has found himself being hunted for what reason he doesn’t know. He also has come to the defense of Amanda the EMT who stitched him up after being stabbed at the marina. She is being abused by the Bobby outside the bar Chase is going into. Later they encounter both Bobby and the men hunting Chase when they come out of the bar and their problems begin. I do love to read this series. Chase seems to find tight situations that he needs to solve to get himself out of which leads to a page turner.

"Green Flash", by Douglas Pratt is a follow-up to previous tales. The tale opens with Chase Gordon getting knifed at Missy's Marina while assisting repair of corroded wiring. A pretty EMT, Amanda, stitches him up. Terrorists from the previous tale are responsible for the attack. Chase & Amanda get together after Chase beats on her gangster boyfriend. Gangsters & terroists become committed to destroying Chase. Too much first person narration. Pratt seems to be channeling Stuart Woods' Stone Barrington tales but with inferior writing. 2.5 stars.

different from the previous books

There were enough differences in this book that several times I questioned if it was really Pratt writing. Grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. Very shallow, implausible plot. Killing people everywhere. Editing errors. Took me a long time to get thru it.

Green Flash

Chase Gordon has become one of my favorite thriller book characters. This is a great edition to the series. Wide variety of characters that all just as good as Chase. I hope there are a few of these characters in their own book or series.

Great Story, sloppy editing

I love this series of books, but I have to say the editing/proofreading of this book was so poor that it became a real distraction. Honestly, it makes me wonder how much of this is AI generated.

Come on, Douglas, you can do better than this.

Lots of action but needs another edit pass

Lots of action in a decent story. But lots of syntax, missing words, and poor editing is a distraction. Better editing would earn another star.
