This radical new translation conveys the early Christian scriptures in the idiom of today. It follows principles of cultural and contextual translation, and returns to the selection of books the the early Church held in highest esteem.
Interesting selections and retranslations of familiar New Testament books. I had some questions about the accuracy and methodology of some of these translations, but on the whole this is necessary and thought-provoking.
An interesting and refreshing translation that tries to bring some of the New Testament books to life for a modern audience. When it works it works well; at other times the language seems to grate but in the whole is useful for all styles of English. I like the use of some of the names; again when they work well it make the reading more interesting such as Slippery Al in Acts. At others it seems dated or too American such as Rocky.
