Interesting literary device. This is basically a travelogue about a group of friends on a Viking cruise on the Danube. You get details of their days touring the sites, eating the local fare, shopping for family gifts, and generally enjoying each other's company.

Except for the slightly annoying couple who prickles their attention periodically. The husband is murdered just before the end of the cruise, and more than 75% of the way through the book. That's a lot of descriptions of cathedrals and desserts.

But it is an interesting murder.
