netflix and its yassified tuyul (think baby yoda but as a sephora ambassador) refuse to leave me alone so here we are. i’ll add my review of the netflix adaptation too once i’m done hatewatching it but it doesn’t look good lol in WHAT universe would white people be the majority in singapore/malaysia/indonesia/wherever the fuck it’s apparently set in because i’ve seen all three mentioned so far in reviews.

Hal pertama yang membuat mata saya terpaku pada buku ini adalah covernya, mengingatkan saya pada salah satu serial favorit waktu masih kecil, Goosebumps. Tanpa ba-bi-bu saya langsung membawa buku ini ke kasir.

Setelah dibaca, mau nggak mau saya berkomentar, "Wah, ini sih Goosebumps banget!" Suasana dan konsep cerita dalam buku ini sangat mirip dengan karya-karya RL Stine. Harus saya akui, membaca buku ini membuat saya bernostalgia.

Buku ini oke, tapi tak terlalu istimewa. Mungkin karena saya sudah bukan anak-anak, jadi saya tak lagi merasakan ketegangan sebagaimana yang dulu saya rasakan ketika membaca serial Goosebumps.

3 dari 5 bintang dari saya, untuk unsur nostalgia yang saya dapati dari buku ini. Tak menutup kemungkinan saya akan membaca seri-seri selanjutnya. :)

I found this book very interesting and exciting to read. The first story is about 3 siblings who are turned into mice and they need to escape from the haunted house, there is a ghost in the haunted house, he can move the doors and corridor and the way out anytime if he wants. The 3 siblings need to get out as quickly and safely as possible. The second story is about 3 friends who hate boys being trapped in the mirror. The mirror has a special power that if anyone looks into it and say the poem at midnight, they would trap inside. There is a leader, who cannot be seen in the mirror, he is called "eyes", he can do whatever to the people he wants. Many people have been trapped in the mirror before, they are called "glass people". In the end, the 3 friends found the way out with the help and the co-operation of the "glass people".

The book manages to capture my interest from the very start and has a good build-up of tension. The book also helps me to take on the perspective of the main character and how he/she would react to a certain event. Overall, the book is great and has an interesting plot.

Finally got to finishing this book. I love these sort of books. While this is no Goosebumps. They still have the same vibes.

Can't wait to read more of these. Very light reading. Can easily read a few of these books a day.
