Arrivals & Departures is a compilation of three sweet romantic short stories that happen at the same airport on the same day. Dianne Oren enjoys writing sweet, swoony romantic comedies. She lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas with her husband Kevin, dogs Duke & Daisy, house panther Finn, and Rebel...the tiny gray potato tornado.
I actually read a physical book for this one, which made the experience even more special. I was gifted an autographed copy of Arrivals & Departures, along with an adorable mini suitcase filled with travel themed goodies and three secret gifts to open at specific moments in the book. Such a clever and thoughtful idea. I loved trying to predict what each gift would be as I reached the sticky note reminders throughout the stories.
Romance novels are not usually my cup of tea, but this was the perfect little dose. Short, sweet, and easy to read, I finished it in one sitting. The characters were likable and relatable, and I especially found myself invested in Nic and Rachel and wanting to see where they ended up.
The writing felt very casual and down to earth, which made the stories easy to settle into. There was not much spice or over the top mushiness, which I appreciated since that is often what turns me off from romance novels. Overall, a charming and enjoyable read, made even more memorable by the creative and thoughtful presentation.
Short and sweet like expected! While I understand they are short stories I wish we could have gotten more than when the characters originally met. They felt more unfinshed than stort stories. I loved all of the stories though and, I NEED MORE OF ALL 3 STORIES!!!!!!!
Dianne's debut novella Arrivals and Departures is a book that brimming with heart and humor. From the moment I cracked open the spine on my book, I was hooked. There are so many wonderful moments in each of the three stories. I just wish they were longer. I didn't want to stop reading. I can't wait to see what Dianne's future brings.
I was privileged to receive an advanced copy to help this new author bring her ideas to life. These are quick reads and lighthearted but also inspiring to anyone who might be carrying around some self-doubt. Get this book and enjoy a few chuckles as we discover some travelers getting ready to begin new chapters in their lives. I am looking forward to more good things from this author! Wishing you much success!!
I really liked this collection of short stories that centered around an airport in Dallas. The shorts were enjoyable and the characters were well developed. The length of each story was just perfect. The Author, Dianne, gave us a great read! Just right for quick getaway…
First time reading something by this author. This is a collection of short stories. I found them delightful and the characters were well written in a short amount of time. I will certainly look for more books by this author in the future!
Loved this book! I loved the premise of three short stories all set at an airport about three couples. The stories left me wanting to know what happens next so I’m excited to hear that at least one of the couple is getting a full length follow on novel!
This novella was a real fun read! The author drew you into the story quickly with enough background of the main characters so you didn't feel that you were missing something. Gave me some good giggles. A thoroughly enjoyable read
This was super cute! Love that it took place in the DFW airport. Also I bought this at a book event in FW and the author included a tiny little suitcase with little gifts to open at certain pages. SO adorable! 💙✈️💕
