The Warren Effect

Rate this book
What did you do for your fortieth birthday?

If pack your belongings and leave your husband of twenty years, who conveniently forgot he had a wife and not a housekeeper, was your answer, you win the prize of a tiny new apartment that won’t fit half of what you packed.

Rose is tired of being a housekeeper. A wife should be at the top of a priority list. Rose would be thrilled to be penciled in at the bottom of the list. With a quick mouth, a sense of humor not everyone gets, and a kick-butt mentality, she decides divorce is the only option. There is life out there even if it breaks her heart to go find it. When her delinquent brother shows up at her door in trouble again, Rose makes a deal. Working off his debt is the perfect solution.

In a new state, surrounded by a motorcycle club, Rose tried to start over. The unfortunate thing about starting over is sometimes the past follows you. After Warren’s refusal to sign the divorce papers, Rose fears the worst when the club comes under attack. Why would a husband who ignored her decide to target the Scorpion Warriors MC? Keeping Warren off her new friends' radar while their livelihood was threatened would be a challenge Rose wasn’t sure she could handle.

Warren did everything right, and it ended up wrong. His job had a few complications. After time and distance no longer work, Warren is forced to confess his secrets. He has to make his wife see she is his before it is too late. It is time to reclaim his wife. Getting past the Scorpion Warriors wouldn’t be a problem. Confessing to her would be hard. Convincing her to come home with him would be harder. He wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty to get what he wanted. He wanted Rose. His wife had better get ready. He was coming, and he wasn’t leaving without her.

So good

What a great story to jumpstart my reading slump. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time, and this released on my first free day in 11 weeks. So happy. I hated every moment I was interrupted. A must read. I love the side characters even more than the main ones. Or maybe it’s just the way Rose spoke to them, lol.

God no. Maybe I shouldn't rate this because it's definitely a me thing. The FMC was horrible. I hated her. She's the type of FMC I loathe in books. She acts like her shit don't stink, but in the bitchiest of ways. She was completely disrespectful. She didn't come off as tough, but irritating. She's the type of FMC who puts people in danger because she doesn't listen and thinks she's a badass. Not even the H Warren could save this for me. The story started out good then kept going downhill because of the h. Sorry, but this just did not work for me. I'm guessing the author was poking fun at MCs as well.

The Warren Effect is a phenomenal novel! Sassy and smart kickass heroine Rose is such a fun character—she has a heart of gold and does what she thinks is right no matter what anyone else thinks. Her estranged husband, Warren, is a mystery that we get to unravel with her as the plot develops. And wow, this plot is just so amazing! Full of unexpected twists and turns, surprise villains, and a plethora of fascinating supporting characters, I was swept away by this novel and could not put it down. This is a must read—I’d give it 10 stars if I could!

I absolutely loved Rose and her interactions with the side characters. If it werent for her and the side characters, I would have given this book 1⭐. They were what saved the book.

The author wants us to believe that the MMC "Warren" adores his wife beyond words. She is the love of his life. He also lied to her about his occupation, where he was, what he did, their bank account, you name it for 16 years. SIXTEEN YEARS. Every time the phone rang he was out the door leaving her behind at the drop of a hat. The last year of their marriage he led her to believe he almost never came home and pretty much forgot she existed. The "love of his life".

Then, when she decides to leave his sorry butt, he swoops back in and she's supposed to just forgive 16 years of neglect and lies. Very little actual grovel.

This book could have been great. Ms Vranich writes dialogue well enough for it to have gotten 5⭐ but she really dropped the ball with his lack of apology and true understanding of how badly he hurt Rose.

It's books like this that teach young women to accept less.

Warren and Rose had been married for some time but over the past year she has felt more like a housekeeper, hardly ever seeing her husband. She takes a drastic step after not being able to get him to talk to her, she files for divorce. I loved Rose, she is sassy and when faced with what would make most fall apart she shines. Her idiot brother lands her in debit with a MC to save his life

Warren is still in love with his wife. He has been keeping her in the dark about a lot of things. He needs to get this wrapped up so he can collect his wife. He will need to tell her everything and hope she forgives him.

I loved how Rose gave all the MC brothers new names.
