The National Geographic Society (NGS), headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States, is one of the largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations in the world.
Founded in 1888, its interests include geography, archaeology, and natural science, the promotion of environmental and historical conservation, and the study of world culture and history. The National Geographic Society's logo is a yellow portrait frame—rectangular in shape—which appears on the margins surrounding the front covers of its magazines and as its television channel logo. In questo libro curato da National Geographic ci si immerge totalmente nella città di New York.
Ci sono brevi articoli su diversi temi che riguardano la città, da come è nato lo skyline più famoso al mondo ai musei imperdibili e ai luoghi iconici.
In verità sono però le splendide fotografie a prendersi la scena: scatti davvero bellissimi che riescono a catapultare il lettore in un'altra realtà.

Questo libro potrebbe essere una breve guida di New York che cattura l'essenziale, il mood, l'aspetto storico e la sua trasformazione.
Diviso bene per le zone della metropoli, aiuta molto bene a focalizzarsi su innumerevoli interessi per conoscerla meglio e per scoprirla, anche se NY non basta mai 🗽
