About the author

Ellen lives in a small town in New England, between the Atlantic Ocean and the White Mountains. She lives with her husband, two sons, and one very spoiled puppy princess.

Ellen writes in the early morning hours before her family wakes up. When she's not writing, you can find her spending time with her family, gardening with her puppy and chickens, or headed to the beach. She loves summer and flip-flops, running on a dirt country road, and a sweet love song.

All of her stories are clean romances where families are close, neighbors are nosy, and the couples are destined for each other.

I absolutely loved the first book "Beach Rose Secrets" in Ellen Joy's new series - Beach Rose Harbor. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review but I would have gladly paid full price. Based on how much I've loved this author's work in the past, I've been looking forward to the release of this one. This book did not disappoint. It's full of incredibly well-written characters that grab you from the very first page and leave you wanting more. The storylines that were introduced in this book hooked me and I cannot wait to see how they develop over the course of the series.
If you love clean romance and are looking for your next favorite series, add this one to your book collection.

Entertaining, inspirational, original, page turner, realistic with wonderful characters !
These days I rarely use those adjectives to describe my feelings ´bout a book. Here I do. I could also have used tear-jerker, unpredictable, haunting etc etc. This book has it all. It’s not a romance per se either. Not in my eyes. It’s so much more than that. It’s worth a film I believe. I, for my part can see it before me clear as water. The style and the approach the author took to write this down is amazing. I felt like part of the story, like being in the skin of all of those amazing characters. And even if there’s a cliffhanger, there isn’t one. And still, it’s right there. So wonderful ! I hate cliffhangers. I really do. This one is not bad at all and still bad. Ok, he isn’t annoying. Not so much… When did you say Beach Rose Cottages comes in the stores ??? I love it ! And you, enjoy your read !

This book was full of mystery, intrigue, wonderful characters, and romance.  It was complicated in a good way because of the depth of the story.  There was so much going on below the surface of the characters that kept you wondering what was going to happen next.  I really liked learning about Abby and her ex-husband, Michael.  She was such a strong, amazing character who had been raising her two children by herself for the last ten years and had moved back to where she grew up so her mom could help her.The small town of Beach Rose Harbor, Maine sounded like a fun, quaint, seaside town that I would like to visit. I would stay in one of Abby's cottages. I really liked Will too and how his character grew while he was in Maine.  It was interesting to watch him develop feelings for Abby when his job had sent him there to watch her. He became a better man and better father to his son, Brody.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Abby runs her family's store and cottages. Will is an undercover FBI agent, watching Abby to see if her ex husband turns up. I love Ellen Joy's book, she has a wonderful way of telling the story. You feel like you are right there experiencing what the characters are. This is the first book in her new series, and a great start it is. Can't wait for the next one.

Abby doesn't deserve all the heartache she has had, she needs to protect her children, run her business and hope for a better future. You never know who is going to show up in Beach Rose Harbor, an undercover FBI agent, a famous artist or someone everyone thought was dead. I enjoyed the characters in this story they are so colorful.

Beach Rose Secrets from Ellen Joy is a well written book based on Christian principles. It is a beautiful story about a brave woman who owns a small shop and rents out cabins. She has to work hard to provide for herself and her children. The story is set in a picturesque seaside town. The story is exciting but also romantic and very recognizable. A nice book to read

Just finished. I loved the story. Will and Abby are so great as are all of the characters. I love Jocelyn's loyalty to her mom. Great plot. This is worth the read!!

A wonderfully satisfying story with characters that were finely interwoven in each other’s lives. Characters were of different ages and they all were portrayed age appropriate. Thank you. A bit of mystery ran throughout the story that was never solved, but don’t fret, the story does not end on on cliffhanger. There is an HEA for more than one and another couple knows that they’ve always had their HEA. Recommend.

Loved This Book

Loved This Book, excellent character development, a story twisting and turning, pulling this reader in, further and further.
So much so that I came to care deeply about the central characters and what happens in their lives. Abby's life was ripped apart ... on her birthday! Not just her life, but those of her children.
You'll love Beach Rose Secrets and the village of Beach Rose Harbor, the good and loyal friends, the lobster fishing culture, living in a small village where everyone knows your business but totally supports you in times of need.
Can't wait for the next book.

Interesting story that I enjoyed very much. Abby Sinclair is a single mother who has raised her two children alone ever since her husband was arrested, got out on bail and then disappeared 10 years previously. He was declared dead 3 years ago but the FBI hasn't given up looking for him. Will is an undercover FBI agent sent to Beach Rose to investigate Abby. The two of them are attracted to each other from the start. Joycelyn is Abby's college aged daughter who has been living in New York and attending college on a full scholarship. She's back home for the summer with a dark secret that she knows she'll eventually have to tell her mom and grandmother.

The start to a new series is always a great day. Ellen Joy's new series has the makings of a good one. Beach Rose Secrets has the romance, some suspense, and a good story. Abby's life has been hard since her ex-husband was taken down by the FBI ten years ago. So much has happened since then and she deserves happiness. When Will comes to town she has the opportunity for a new romance. The romance in this story is a slow set-up for something to come in future books. I look forward to seeing how their story turns out.

Secrets her husband kept - and $$ he scammed
When he was arrested - and SHE KNEW NOTHING. And when he disappeared — dead or alive?? And so she goes home — and runs a motel along with her children. Life gets interesting when a man comes to the motel . . . and he seems to like her. . . . AND YET??? This book is full of secrets - among the children and their mother. Lots of love interests too. Listen to the waves

Didn't want this to end because I loved the characters and their stories. Open has that way of writing that brings you into the world of the story. You are there with your sand between your toes and hearing the waves hit the shore. You want the characters to be your friends.

I enjoyed the interaction between family members, that they could put up with irritations and still love each other. I also enjoy a good clean romance novel without bad language, and the unnecessary descriptions of steamy see scenes.

As like Ellen's other books I've read, this was excellent. I read it in two days. I wish there was a sequel to the book. Why? Because Abby's husband is still at large. It would be fun and nice to read what happens in with Michael as well as Will and Abby.
