I can't help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with - a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.
I've been writing as long as I can remember - I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.
Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report - a bi-monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.
Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material - and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, "Measure of a Man," in the Tyndale/HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.
Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age. My favorite fir-lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota - it's where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living. The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven series.based on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior. I have to admit - I'm terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full-length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale/Heartquest.
Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 -- and now we live in the beautiful town I'd always dreamed of! God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings -- and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.
I 'm delighted you've stopped in to visit. My hope is that you'll be blessed and encouraged by soul-stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.
I'd love to hear from you! I love getting mail, especially from readers and I welcome your questions and comments. Write to me at susan@susanmaywarren.com. I was excited to read Crispin’s story when readers were first introduced to him. Add that excitement and spies – think Jason Bourne, Jack Reacher etc, a romantic connection and the added danger of a forest fire, it was hard to put this book down.
Jade, with her mask of strength, but hidden beneath some insecurities and past hurts, was a perfect sidekick in this wild ride.
This final book in the series was a rush, but also connected everything in the series together. We also get to see some characters we’ve met in previous books and gotten to love.

"Hope is how we survive. How we say 'It is well with my soul.'"
Oh, what a fantastic book to end the series! We finally get a better look at Crispin and the crazy mission that's taken more from him than he bargained for. Crispin is the quintessential hero - fully focused and dedicated to his mission, unbelievably resourceful, and oh so protective. Jade is a strong heroine, capable as a smokejumper, fearless in chasing after evil, and totally at ease keeping up with Crispin in his mission. There is plenty of heart-clenching action and suspense as well as fun banter and sweet romance. Catching up with other characters from the previous books is a perk you'll enjoy if you've been following along with the series. There are some surprise cameos of other beloved characters from Susan May Warren's other books so look for these! I'm hoping for another spin-off series because I'm dying to know more about some of the other crew members of the team!
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Sunrise Publishing and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
Fireproof was a great way to wrap up the Chasing Fire: Montana series. This series has been so exciting to read and it was great to see the elusive character, Crispin, find someone to share his life with. The action and danger was intense in this book right from the start, both from the fire and from the terrorist activity.
I enjoyed seeing the way Crispin and Jade connected and appreciated each other. Even though they both had frustrated moments when they wished that the other person wasn’t so tough, they actually both respected each other immensely and seemed to be able to see into each other in a way that others didn’t.
I loved that there were bonus epilogues available from the authors after this book was finished. I definitely recommend them simply because it is fun to read about the happy endings a few months down the road for the team members.
(4.5 stars)
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Wow! An EPIC finale to a truly incredible summer series! This riveting page-turner has all the elements of a blockbuster: intrigue, suspense, surprise, romance, and plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. And warning: you will NOT be able to put it down! This one is action-packed from start to finish!
Like I said: Epic. Finale.
Since the very first book of this series, Crispin has been a mystery out there somewhere on the horizon, so it was so very rewarding to finally get his story. And, Jade?? Wow! Way to bring in a tough, gritty character we didn’t even realize we needed. And boy, did we fall in love with both of them individually; which just built crazy anticipation for their redemption story. (And can I just mention their super-witty banter and those fiery-hot kisses?) It wasn’t humanly possible to ship them one iota more!
To top it off, this book overflowed with beautiful spiritual nuggets to encourage our faith. The message of grace was tangible, and the message of hope, so powerful. “Hope which helps us say: it is well with my soul.”
And what about all those mentions and cameos of characters from series’ past? Are you kidding me? (So many Easter eggs, and I (really) will try NOT to spoil anything): so many smokejumpers and hotshots from the previous Montana Fire series (including Jade’s big bro). A certain country star from the Air One Alaska series. There was also mention of a certain President who first appeared in the Montana Marshall’s series; as well as a Marshall brother-in-law himself, whose name starts with YYYY (oh my heart). (And was that Pete from Wait for Me???) Apparently Alan Martin is still out there stirring up trouble (come on, Susie May, when are we going to finish this guy off? Perhaps a new series that ends with him (finally) paying the piper?) And did anyone else out there think that maybe that ranger fire tower in the epilogue could be the exact same one where Reuben went to call for help when Gilly was hurt in Burning for You (Montana Fire: Summer of Fire series)? Thank you, Susie May for all those hidden gems that brought up sooooo much nostalgia. You will love reading every. single. one.
Again: Epic. Finale.
I should mention a few Notable Quotables:
- (I was hooked from the very first line): “Frankly, Crispin was just tired of being dead. Dead, and in his pajamas. Wow, he needed pants, because the flimsy hospital gown was getting a little breezy.” - “Hope is how we survive. How we say ‘It is well with my soul.’” He wanted to believe it. Wanted to sink into her gaze, to pull out of her that faith that seemed so tangible, so…real. - “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can imagine what God has planned for those who love him. My paraphrase, but it’s something like that. It’s what keeps me moving forward sometimes.” - Something big and glorious and freeing swept through him and took hold. He wanted to name it…hope. “Hope is how we survive. How we say “It is well with my soul.” That’s what he wanted—to be well in his soul, come what may.
I could gush on and on about this epic conclusion to a wonderful multi-author series. It ticked off all the boxes for me, and I would gladly give it wayyyyyy more than 5 stars (if only I were allowed). Thank you, Susie May for this powerful story of sacrifice, faith, and hope. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every single second spent Chasing Fire in Montana this summer and I can’t wait to see what you write next!
Fireproof by Susan May Warren concludes the Chasing Fire: Montana series. In traditional Warren fashion, she starts the story off with a bang and keeps making it harder and harder for the characters as they race against the wild fire that is rushing toward Snowhaven. Even though this isn’t enough, Warren allows Crispin, the hero, to keep chasing the Brotherhood, a Russian terrorist group as they race toward destruction on American soil. Plenty of action. Just the way that I like. Of course, Warren stories always bring the heat in the romance department. She does have a couple of moments where the characters need to be hosed off because the sparks are flying around outside them and inside them. There is no difference with Crispin and Jade. Sparks fly all over the place. There are a number of familiar characters if readers have read any of Warren’s novels. This world is so large that I even have a hard time keeping track of all the characters. Who is related to who? When did we first meet you? Overall, Fireproof by Susan May Warren closes this series with plenty of action and romance for any reader to enjoy. Makes me wonder what troubles are future characters going to be in during her next series.
I received a complimentary copy of Fireproof by Susan May Warren but the opinions stated are all my own.
Crispin and Jade were the perfect characters to bring this series of books to an epic conclusion in Fireproof!! With a fire scorching the landscape around them, as well as Crispin's panicked fear regarding his hidden spy lifestyle, the battle for American lives and freedom raged. Jade's own fears of never "measuring up" to her "all-in" brother Jed, enforced her need to be just as good, if not better, than he was. Relying on the truth that God can lead throughout any background, Jade's faith began to settle in Crispin's heart.
During the fight with fire and terrorists, questions remained in Crispin's heart whether or not he could seek a real family lifestyle when the threats were ended. Drawing together their resources, Crispin and Jade fought until the battle was won. Finally, with love, faith, and hope - the possibilities for them are unreservedly endless!! As the mysteries were unravelling, the biggest questions had to be asked and answered. Through it all, would the connection that bound them last forever? I thoroughly enjoyed Fireproof, by Susan May Warren!! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!! I am thankful for her faith and in God's Wisdom in allowing her to serve by sharing her tales of Faith in God, with thousands of others world-wide.
Crispin has been undercover on a mission for years - so long that he's almost forgotten who he really is. But the mission is finally about to wind up - or blow wide open, literally. There's a nuke on the loose, and unless he can find it before the Russians do, all hell will break loose. It's starting to feel like a job too big for him to handle, particularly since he just got beaten up - but he's not used to working with others. Jade would love someone to truly partner with, but however much Crispin attracts her, he doesn't seem willing to be anything other than a lone wolf. With all they're up against, though, it'll take both of them and all the help they can get to win out. Will they find the nuke in time? And can they overcome the odds to form a real team?
A great finish to the series. We finally discover what's been going on under the surface, and that's intriguing - but even better is for Crispin to finally get his happily ever after, after all these years, and for Jade to get a new perspective on life. The suspense is well done, the developing relationship perfect, their own personal baggage unpacked and dealt with, and the series neatly finished - without feeling unrealistic. The result is a book that kept me reading eagerly and had me at once reluctant to finish and glad to see them get their deserved ending. I'm not sure how Crispin will go settling into 'normal life' after what he's been doing, but it's good to end on a hopeful note! Looking forward to reading more by the author. Recommended.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
Fireproof was such a great ending to the Chasing Fire: Montana series! Every chapter is filled with exciting adventure, heart-racing suspense, sizzling romance, and a good dose of faith.
Jade feels trapped in her brothers shadow and has been trying desperately to prove herself as a smokejumper following her biggest mistake. Crispin has been chasing a criminal organization called The Brotherhood for years now, but he's always one step behind. Now his search for the elusive Henry and the nuke he's rumoured to have stolen has brought him to the same town Jade where has taken a temporary job leading the smokejumper team. And he's in luck (or is he?), because he's finally found someone who actually knows where to find the man he's looking for. With both a wildfire and some of the most dangerous criminals you could meet nipping at their heels, Jade and Crispin find themselves in a deadly race they never imagined running.
Crispin has been a bit of a ghost throughout the series so far; always appearing right when you least expect him and then vanishing without a trace. It was good to finally get to "know" him a little and even find out what his real name is; not just the nickname his little sister gave him as a child. He was the perfectly flawed, protective, and larger than life hero that every story needs. Jade was also a fantastic heroine: strong and independent, while learning to recognize her need for others and realizing that she didn't need to work so hard to prove herself. I thoroughly enjoyed reacquainting myself with some previous characters, including some from SMW's other books.
I'm giving Fireproof 4.5/5 stars, and I think it's definitely one of my favourite books out of the series! If you enjoy a good romantic suspense, you won't want to miss this one.
*As a member of the launch team, I received a complimentary copy of Fireproof through Sunrise Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My positive review is not required.
Fireproof is not the first and will certainly not be the last book I have read written by Susan May Warren. I signed up to review this book because I was curious why Fireproof and Firestorm looked so much alike. I realized my library at the first 5 books in this series on audiobook, so I listened to them in preparation to reading Fireproof and Firestorm. I was not expecting to love this series so much. I was completely drawn in and 100% invested in the characters. It was a fast and easy read. But beware, once you start this series, you cannot stop until you finish.
The character development was powerful. It was really good. Though you might be able to get away with reading this book as a standalone, you might miss a little bit. Crispin’s story is brought up in the other books and gives a bigger picture to who he is. I really enjoyed getting to know Crispin and Jade.
The storyline was great. It really kept things moving along and kept me wanting more. The setting was prefect. Having lived in Colorado, I am no stranger to the treat of forest fires and the damage they can do. It really helped pull me in and Invision what was unfolding throughout the series.
The relationship that transpires between Crispin and Jade is a unique and sweet relationship. Just as the fire spread quickly, so did their relationship. Even though they felt that they could not pursue each other under the circumstance they were in. I appreciate that it was nothing spicy, just a super sweet romance.
Susan May Warren did a great job intertwining faith throughout the book. I always appreciate when the author does a good job on intertwining faith.
*I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it. All opinions are my own.
Brimming with suspense, action, danger, and romance, Fireproof kept me on the edge of my seat as I got sucked into the final installment of the Chasing Fire: Montana series. I thoroughly enjoyed Crispin and Jade's story, the search for a missing nuke, and stopping a terrorist group amidst fighting a wildfire. I also enjoyed learning about Crispin's and Jade's backstories. Warren not only added Easter eggs in Fireproof but also wove spiritual truths into this fast-paced story. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
"Fireproof" by Susan May Warren, the sixth book in the "Chasing Fire: Montana" series, is a gripping romantic suspense novel set against the backdrop of Montana's rugged landscapes. This story delves into themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the enduring power of love, all while keeping readers on the edge of their seats with its suspenseful plot.
Warren excels at creating complex characters with deep emotional wounds. The protagonist is a former smokejumper haunted by a tragic accident, while the female lead is a resilient woman with a troubled past. Their paths collide as they both seek healing and a fresh start, leading to a powerful and transformative connection. The author skillfully weaves together their individual stories, exploring their vulnerabilities and strengths as they navigate the challenges of their pasts and the dangers of their present. The dialogue is sharp and engaging, revealing the characters' inner thoughts and desires while adding layers of depth to their interactions.
The suspense element is expertly crafted, with a series of mysterious events and hidden threats that keep the tension high throughout the novel. The author uses vivid descriptions of the Montana wilderness to create a sense of isolation and danger, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the story. The plot is full of unexpected twists and turns, keeping readers guessing until the very end. The themes of forgiveness and redemption are explored with sensitivity and nuance, adding an emotional depth that elevates the story beyond a typical romantic suspense novel.
Overall, "Fireproof" is a compelling and emotionally resonant read that will appeal to fans of romantic suspense and those who enjoy stories with strong characters and complex themes. Warren's skillful storytelling and attention to detail make this book a standout in the series, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the next installment. The combination of heart-pounding suspense and heartfelt romance makes "Fireproof" a truly unforgettable read.
Will this be the final book of the series? It looks like several of the characters over the course of the series have found their partners, so it may be, but one never really knows.
Wow! Fireproof is the exciting finale in Susan May Warren’s Chasing Fire: Montana series. It kept me on the edge of my seat with nonstop action, a threatening fire, a missing nuke, terrorists, inspirational faith, & a sizzling romance between two strong, independent characters.
Jade Ransom’s a tough smokejumper who’s out to prove herself after a terrible mistake that continues to haunt her. After rescuing Crispin Lamb while fighting a dangerous wildfire, the powerful attraction between them keeps drawing them together especially when Jade knows where the man Crispin is looking for lives.
Crispin’s been hunting the secretive terrorist organization known as The Brotherhood for years. He’s trying to track a nuclear missile that was stolen from them which they planned to sell. When he’s rescued by Jade & she knows where to find the man suspected of having the missile, they must work together to evade the Brotherhood & find Henry all against the backdrop of a deadly fire.
If you haven’t read a Susan May Warren book before, Fireproof is the perfect place to start. I loved the witty banter, Jason Bourne vibes, pop culture references (Batman), & the powerful instant attraction between Crispin & Jade.
I loved these two independent characters who both have a tragic past. I loved how their instant attraction is always smoldering underneath the witty banter & close proximity. But along with the romance & action is a beautifully crafted faith & redemption message naturally woven throughout the story. It was also fun to see some familiar faces again from other books/series.
Highly recommend this easy to devour romantic suspense! Though it’s part of a series, it’s easily read as a standalone. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own & voluntarily provided.
Just when I think Susan May Warren has hit the pinnacle of her writing journey, she proves me wrong and writes a book even better than the last, and that’s definitely the case with Fireproof! From the opening scenes to the much-needed cooldown at the end, this book is hot.
And I don’t say that lightly – or in only one way; because Warren pushes the limits all around with Jade and Crispin. From the basis of the plot – hello, can anything be more intense than a search for a missing nuke? – to the way that they keep jumping out of airplanes and into wildfires to their very nicknames – Crispy? – Fireproof is, well, on fire.
But that’s a really, really good thing. Warren knows exactly when to lighten the moment, so the suspense isn’t overwhelming, but it does sizzle a good bit, because she’s the master of hunky heroes. What’s better than a clean, hopeful, suspenseful book about people determined to do the right thing at all costs?
Fireproof is one of those books that you’ll read in a single sitting because there’s no putting it down once you’ve turned the first page, and I was all in. I flew through this one – it was that good. This marriage of Warren’s story universe and Lisa Phillips’ Last Chance County world is a perfect one. I hope that they find more ways to collaborate, and if they do, I’m first in line to pre-order.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Smokejumper Jade Ransom comes down to Montana from her Alaska firefighting job to assist in their wildfire containment. Yet on her first day there, she rescues a mysterious man; Crispin. In the middle of Montana's fires, Crispin is hunting a mafiosi group who's intent on getting their hands on a nuclear warhead...and taking it back to Russia.
Crispin doesn't know whom to trust. And Jade, who's an expert in firefighting and smokejumping, isn't as familiar with the secretive ways and habits of Crispin's life. However, at unexpected moments that Crispin needs help (or Jade thinks he does), she is right there. (Not knowing exactly what to do. But available.)
Neither Jade nor Crispin was expecting the attraction between the two of them. Or the immediate connection they're feeling. Definitely not planning on the wonderful repartee (hello, Marvel and DC universes!). Crispin appreciates those...mostly. But what he isn't sure about is the God that Jade lives for, all out. He has seen the worst of humanity. But Jade's faith certainly makes a difference in her life...
Join this wonderful pair as they fight fires, seek out evil men to contain and destroy their plans, and maybe, to find love when it's all over. If they can survive the fires! Great characters, compelling circumstances, and a beautiful faith. Loved this book.
I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions shared here are my own honest ones.
Ready for a suspense-filled adventure? Then this is the book for you! Really, this is the series for you. The entire series is quite the wild ride. You are fighting the fires along with the characters. But be careful or you might get burned!
I highly recommend reading this series in order. There are six books so far. This is number six. You get to revisit characters who took the lead in the previous books. If you haven’t read their stories you won’t be fully lost, but you won’t have all the background either.
This book takes us into a deeper look at one of the firefighters who has been a little wary of sharing his past. He’s never really let himself be part of the group. Why you might ask? Well, he might just be undercover.
And now there is a missing nuke.
Can he find the nuke? What about finding love and romance? Okay, so you know he will but how and where and which way!?
Grab your copy today. Trust me when I say set aside time to read the whole thing in one sitting.

I could just scream all day about this series, okay? And this finale is no different. It's got to be my favorite out of the whole series, and that's saying something because each time a new book came out, I'd say, "Okay, THIS is my favorite." While I'm sad to see the series done already, these authors couldn't have done a finer job on the series and this epic finale. I read most of it in one sitting and just couldn't stop reading. Susan May Warren and Lisa Phillips, plus their co-authors, have done an incredible job of weaving a complex storyline throughout this six-book series of Chasing Fire: Montana, and it's totally binge-worthy. If you love TV shows like Fire Country, you need to pick this up ASAP. It's intense, they grapple with some super realistic struggles and faith-based themes, and Warren especially wrote relatable characters that just jump right off the pages in Fireproof. I could yell more about it, but then I'd spoil something...just do yourself a favor and read the series if you love suspense, romance, and Christian fiction!
FTC: I read an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own; a review was not required.
Christian Suspense romance is a favorite genre of mine. FireProof by Lisa Phillips and Susan May Warren it is Book 6 in the Chasing Fire: Montana series. The Series is written by various authors and I have had the pleasure to read the other books in this series!
WOW, each book in this series is really captivating and intriguing. Jade Ransom and Crispin Lamb are the main characters in the book. Jade and Crispin are introduced to one another as they are both on the same mission, to find a man named Henry who has stolen a nuclear missile. The mission is not an easy one for Crispin, probably the toughest in all his years in The Brotherhood. Jade and Crispin begin to find themselves in danger and they become close throughout their mission. There are many twists and turns in this book and the author really keeps the reader focused on the storyline! Mystery, Suspense, Faith, Relationships, and more. I truly have enjoyed this entire series. I am sad to see it end with Jade and Crispin's story. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who loves contemporary Christian Romance and Mystery books! FANTASTIC BOOK!
That's a wrap! I finally have my answers about the mysterious characters in this series. I also have proof that not all heroes wear capes.
Jade feels she has so much to prove. She is tough as nails and excellent at her job. I admired her character so much. Everything this lady did was admirable. She did not do anything halfway. Crispin was a tough man with true grit. He was a hero in every sense of the word. Jade and Crispin had more in common than they realized and wanted to admit, which made them the perfect couple, except for their penchant for putting themselves in danger.
All of the puzzle pieces fall neatly into place in this nail biting, out of this world finale. There is plenty of action and hair raising rescues, as well as danger around every corner, which is what we have come to expect in this fantastic series. This was a fine job by all of the authors in this series, and this last book was the chef's kiss.
Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A classic Susan May Warren tale, Fireproof wraps up the Chasing Fire: Montana series with a bang. Filled with adventure, danger, action, and suspense along with sizzling romance, the story moves at warp speed as Crispin and Jade race against a blazing forest fire to remove a stolen nuclear missile from dangerous terrorists.
Jade is determined to prove herself to make up for past mistakes. Crispin just wants to finish his mission in order to get his life back. In this race against time, the pair face one obstacle and injury after another but both refuse to give up.
Fireproof is one of those books that refuses to let the reader go until it’s satisfying conclusion so I suggest not beginning it unless you have plenty of time. It could keep you up until the wee hours. This book could easily stand on its own but will be so much better after reading the entire series. I was hooked from book one and expect other readers will be also.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by JustReads Publicity. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.
Jade Ransom has come from Alaska to help the Montana firefighters battle the raging forest fire and now she’s leading her own team. Her first jump doesn’t go perfectly, but it does land her in the perfect place to rescue a trapped motorist from a car crash. Only it turns out he’s more like Jason Bourne than someone needing rescue.
This final book of the series had sparks flying, and they weren’t just from the raging Montana wildfire. The intensity of Crispin and Jade’s experiences, in a few days time, drew them together in desperation.
It was satisfying to have the storyline reach resolution and for the heroes to win. The dogged determination of Crispin made him the perfect character for this clan-destined conclusion. One thing we enjoyed in particular was the humorous banter surrounding superheroes between Jade and Crispin. Batman has always been a favorite and these crusaders made a perfect duo.
We received an advance copy from the publisher. This is our honest review.
“Hope is how we survive. How we say ‘It is well with my soul.’”
The last book in this phenomenal Christian Romantic Suspense series. I couldn’t decide whether to wait to read it, to slowly savor it, or gobble it down like a kid who hasn’t had sweets in a year. Aaaaand, spoiler alert, option number 3 won out and I have no regrets. I totally binged it.
We could’ve never guessed that Crispín would be an MC when we started this series it I couldn’t be more thrilled to have him as our hero. This story starts out with a bang and both of our mains are injured. We go through fire, danger, terrorism, suspense, and just so much. It was a thrilling ride and I wish it didn’t have to end! I love the Easter eggs from past Warren books and series. Just about screamed at one point when I made a connection I’ve been pouring over the books picking out. 😉
I cannot wait to see what these authors do next!
I received an ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
A fast-paced suspense, filled with intrigue and high stakes.
Crispin Lamb doesn't technically exist, he's a secret weapon operating under the radar to save the world. When Jade Ransom a smokejumper, rescues him from the flames, she won't take no for an answer, so reluctantly he lets her work with him to stop the Brotherhood, before time runs out.
A non-stop adventure, that had me hanging on, riveted to the page. Crispin and Jade make an excellent team, both skilled at their jobs, and not ones to ever give up. While part of a series, it could also be read as a standalone, there are side characters that will be familiar faces from the previous books. I liked the strong themes of faith, throughout.
Overall, a fantastic addition to the series, with high suspense and wonderful characters. Highly recommend!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Frankly, Crispin was just tired of being dead. How can you not want to read a book that has that as the first line? Book 6 of this series starts off with a bang and doesn't really let up until the end. I loved it!
Crispin is the one that has been central throughout the series in regards to the mystery. And yet I was still surprised, which I like, about how this mystery was wrapped up. So good!
When we first met Crispin I never would have guessed that I would be cheering for him. And for him to have his own book that wraps up this series? Nope! But I am so glad he does! And I was definitely cheering for him as he dealt with fire, terrorists, being shot and so many adventures.
This book is a wild ride. I suggest that before you sit down you grab something to snack on and a drink because you won't want to get up until you are done reading the book.
Do NOT start this if you don't have time to finish it or need to sleep; I couldn't put it down! This is the final book in this series. It brings all of the other books to a fiery conclusion. This is a Christian, closed-door, CIA Agent, Smokejumper, Love at first sight, she protects him, he saves her, swoony kisses, and a lot of suspenseful Jason Bourne vibes. I'm glad Crispin finally gets his book and has a happy ending. Jade seems to be Crispin's perfect mate. I love the thread of Survive Today: "Survive today. What he really wanted was to see beyond this moment to tomorrow. But his vision had always been cluttered, smoky, cloudy— No eye has seen… what God has planned for those who love Him." The final book gets the final stanza of "It is Well", "And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, A song in the night, oh my soul!"
What do you get when you combine two strong, fiercely independent main characters, a forest fire, and an unaccounted nuclear missile? Fireproof! You won’t be able to stop reading this once you begin because of its action with smoke jumpers and firefighters as well as terrorists who will stop at nothing to get their hands on the missile. I enjoyed the romance between Jade and Crispin; they make a great couple.
I highly recommend reading this book if you like romantic suspense with a faith based message. This is the sixth book in the Chasing Fire: Montana series but can be read as a standalone. This did not affect the story or my pleasure in reading this book since I did not read every previous book in the collection,
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author through JustRead Tours. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I was happy to read Crispin’s story and finally find out what he had been up to throughout the series. He was a mysterious figure who kept popping up in the other books, often with danger at his heels, and it was easy for me to sympathize with him and Jade as they fought through a huge wildfire while coming under fire from Russian sympathizers. The biblical truths woven into the story were a great encouragement to me as well. This was an excellent ending to an explosive and intriguing series that I was sorry to see come to an end. I would love to see a spinoff series where the main characters return for more action! I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series to anyone who enjoys clean suspense stories. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for the author and publisher. A positive review was not required, and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
This is book 6, the final book, in the Chasing Fire: Montana series. Crispin Lamb is searching for a stolen weapon before it can be sold to enemies of the USA. Jade Ransom is a seasoned smoke jumper working hard to overcome a past mistake. This explosive story hits high speed from the beginning and doesn’t slow down until the end. Fighting fires and fighting enemies become a joint venture with the stakes being very high for Jade, Crispin and a whole town. Unexpected twists add an extra layer of interest and complexity to the story. Faith is woven throughout in a way that gently shows God’s love. Hope, fear and romance are all intertwined throughout the pages of the storyline giving the reader a well balanced book. I highly recommend this book. My thanks to the publisher for an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed here are mine.
What an exciting and action-packed conclusion to this series. I’ve enjoyed every book, and this wraps things up in such a great way. It was a thrilling race against time. There was a missing nuke, raging wildfires, and bad guys on the loose. There was never a dull moment! The lightning-fast pace and escalating danger had me flipping through the pages as fast as possible.
I really liked Jade and Crispin. They were both strong-willed and determined, and had amazing chemistry. Their banter was so much fun!
I loved the strong message of faith woven throughout the pages. My favorite quote was: “Why worry about things I can’t control? I have today. And that’s all I need to worry about.” What a great reminder!
If you’re a fan of action-packed romantic suspense, you’ll love this series! I highly recommend it!
No!! It can't be over! We want more! I am in awe of this series! The conclusion couldn't be better! You have out of control hungry forest eating fires, dangerous terrorists that just won't give up, a nuke hidden in the mountains where said fires burn. Throw in a hunky hero out to save the world and a stunning female hot shot hero mixed with faith nuggets dispersed throughout, and you have a winner!! Crispen had to learn what Jade already knew: you can not conquer evil alone, but together as a team is a whole different story! I just love how both of them grow as characters and the zing between them, o my!! This book will mull through you long after you stop reading. Excellent story and brilliant series!!
Fire Proof is the finale to a great series, Chasing Fire: Montana! Several characters that we met in earlier books make appearances in Fire Proof including Crispin who is "tired of being dead"! I loved Crispin's story of how he is searching for a group called "The Brotherhood" who are attempting to steal a nuke and sell it to Russia! Firefighter, Jade Ransom, is a tough fire jumper who wants to show she is capable of leading her own team but then she stumbles across Henry, an old codger, who claims to have a hidden nuke! There are lots of sparks flying both from the forest fie and between Crispin and Jade! You won't want to miss the action in Fireproof! I received a complimentary e-book from the authors. This is my honest opinion.
