Breaking free of her restraints, Atallia forced the secrets that haunted her into the light; and in doing so revealed an even bigger, more menacing evil. What with wraiths at every turn, a plague with no cure in sight, and a new kind of danger in the form of the Kin of Chaos, it seems the battle might finally be turning to war.
True cosmic power now sparks at her fingertips, igniting in her soul, and with the block on her magic lifted, and her true identity revealed, it seems like nothing can stand in her way. But with no memories of her past to help and her magic threatening to consume her, she might just become her own worst enemy.
The walls feel like they’re closing in on Atallia, destined to crush her, and while she longs to lean on the strong-willed Kanan, uncovered secrets of his own keep her from fully trusting him again. Fate has other plans though, as they’re continuously thrown together chasing signs of Kasis’s worrisome plans, leading Atallia to think there might just be more to this story than meets the eye.
Will they be able to recover what they lost while stopping this surmounting malignance?
Or will she fade into the void, along with the rest of her memories?
Ashlyn B. Rudd is the American author of the captivating and enthralling romantic fantasy, Of Secrets and Beginnings.
She lives in the States and is currently working on her degree in nursing. She spends her days in scrubs going through classes, and at night, in between bouts of studying, she lives in the fictional worlds in her head, kicking ass with a sword and casting magic.
When she’s not with her friends and family she enjoys stormy days with her animals, a good book, a cozy blanket, and a fireplace. Outside of books, her interests lie in a whole host of things including: gardening, horseback riding, cooking, and binging a good show.
If she could she’d live on a farm in the middle of nowhere, so when she finally takes the dive deep into the woods, don’t be surprised if she only comes out for trips to the bookstore and to stock up on snacks.
What a good book- I still love all of these characters and how much Atallia grows throughout the book. She is so relatable coping through her feelings the entire time and leaning on her found family.
Now my dumb self truly thought this was a duology for some reason buttt now I cannot wait for book #3 to see where things go from here.
