Well….Jules was bat shit crazyyyyyy. Like the level of delusion that invoked her is beyond me. Nevertheless this was very addictive and I couldn’t put it down!
Desperate for You pulled me straight into a world where obsession and love tangle in the most disturbing, fascinating way. From the very beginning, I could feel the tension crackling beneath the surface. This isn’t a feel-good romance—it’s messy, uncomfortable, and completely addictive. I appreciated the author’s inclusion of trigger and content warnings, because this story definitely ventures into dark territory.
Jules, the main character, immediately struck me as someone teetering on the edge—controlled, hyper-aware, and intense. Her fixation on Vicktor is complicated. She clearly sees him as more than just a love interest—he’s her lifeline, her undoing, and sometimes just someone she barely tolerates. That emotional whiplash kept me glued to the page.
What really stood out to me was the way Nolan portrays their relationship. It’s not traditional, and it’s definitely not healthy—but it’s layered, emotional, and at times disturbingly intimate. The introduction of other characters like Killer, and even the dog Bubbles, added complexity and odd flashes of humor that gave me just enough relief from the story’s heavier moments.
As the romance develops, it becomes clear that this isn’t about redemption or sweeping gestures—it’s about two deeply flawed people trying to carve out something real in the chaos of their pasts. The fact that they’re talking about honeymoons and futures after everything they’ve been through is wild—but it works. There’s a strange tenderness in how their story unfolds, even when it’s wrapped in control, trauma, and obsession.
Overall, Desperate for You felt like a psychological deep-dive into what happens when love festers instead of heals. Keres Nolan’s writing is sharp and haunting, and I found myself flipping pages just to see how far she’d push the boundary between connection and control. If you’re into dark, morally gray love stories that make you feel a little off-kilter while still rooting for the couple… this one is definitely worth the read.

My Rating System: 1⭐️: The book didn’t hold my interest and/or had significant issues that overshadowed any redeeming qualities for me, but generally not my cup of tea. Most likely did not finish the book. 2⭐️: The book didn’t quite resonate with me, and while my experience wasn’t remarkable, I did finish it. It had some redeeming qualities and potential but fell short in execution. Recommendable, though with some reservations. 3⭐️: Good read, but didn’t quite stand out. Still worth recommending to others. 4⭐️: Really enjoyed it and stayed engaged throughout. Would read the book again. Definitely recommendable. 5⭐️: Incredible writing that made me deeply connect with the characters. I was completely absorbed in the world and didn’t want it to end. This book stayed with me even when I wasn’t reading it. I'd gladly reread it and highly recommend it to everyone!.

this was an easy dark romance read- as always please check trigger warnings! your mental health matters!
we had a completely unhinged, batshit ‘crazy’ FMC and i was absolutely here for ittttt🤪 there was BPD, OCD & HPD representation! and ofc we had our morally grey MMC damien, who was a tough nut to crack in the beginning but my girl, jules was ✨persistent✨. it seriously did not take long for jules to become completely obsessed with damien. my girl was completely delulu to the point you want to laugh at how fast things moved in her head. BUT i guess once you’ve got your favourite person, that’s it, game over. maybe not to the extent she would go to for her man but who knows… maybe eh?👀 I’M KIDDING😩🤣
this book was quite an easy read and jules was quite relatable at times in a sense for me personally. i love it when a book has characters that you can relate to (not wholly ofc but in a few aspects). the representation was beautifully written but ofc this does not condone any dangerous/harmful behaviours. this also shows that having a supportive partnership can make the world of difference.
I thought this was well written and I enjoyed reading it I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read more from this author. I thought it was a great read,

Jules!!! I loved her from the start! Although she is a bit... obsessive, it's kinda cute! Damien shows up like a knight in shining armor, except he doesn't see it that way. I love their "relationship"!!.
